We came, we saw, we didn't conquer. Did see a couple of nice young men going through a boxing fitness session here, though, and I'm told that one of them was ex-footballer Luke Darcy. So all was not lost.
Thanks anyway, The Rebel Alliance.

Thought I would do a few in the area and find another leg to the BT file. Great little interesting park but open for all to see, especially from the flats overlooking the park. No muggles about and no luck in finding the cache.
Thanks for bringing me here.
Thanks for bringing me here.
Interesting park. No muggle problem at night, and the place was relatively rubbish free. There was a likely hiding spot near GZ, but no joy. Broadened the search around the GZ zone, but still no find. So wasn't sure if the cache had been cleared by muggle gardeners?
Back on line the cache is in place, the rubbish may be an on going problem that I will have to review. perhaps instead of just complaining about it people could try a little cito.
Decided to try this one while shopping in the area. We were really shocked by the state of the area there was broken glass and unpleasant litter everywhere. Not a place for little ones. Perhaps the reason we didnt find it was we were in such a hurry to leave the area.
My second-last BT cache - thought I should clean them all up to get the valuable points on the final for the Well Rounded Cacher competition! It was quite sad finding this one, my first dak-cache since his passing. It is so nice that his memory can live on, though, through his hides.
The cache was found at GZ exposed, but contents still safe. I covered it as best I could. TNLN.
Now, onto my last one out at Camberwell!

Very nice area to walk round before trying the cache. Got the answers and calculated GZ but our GPSr kep pointing to the middle of the road, had to look around and do the "so where would I put it" and the cache was then quickly found.
TNLNSL
TFTC, I guess that each dak cache will now feel a bit different, but we are glad that his hides live on.

Found this morning on our way to complete the Business Traveller's cache. We were about to leave after a 15min search as the GPS was unsteady and wanted us to search in an area away from the park, which just didn't seem right. Thought we'd have one last look in what felt like a more reasonable area and fortunately the cache was discovered.

It's funny. After working in Garden Street for nearly nine years I only just found out about this park before last Xmas. At the time I thought this would be a great place for a cache, but hadn't done anything about it. Couldn't believe it when I noticed the other day that a cache had already been set up there. Had to find it straight away!
I love this little park. It is very appealing, and a lovely quiet spot to have lunch in. Great if you're working and want to bring your lunch from home, rather than spending a fortune in Chapel Street.TNLN. TFTC.

No problems with this one. Now off to find some lunch in the Prahran Market. T4TC
Had a good rummage, but no joy. Nice to find the park though. We may be back son.
We managed to navigate ourselves into this cache area after a lot of U-turns. Found relatively easy with edmil @ 1235 hrs.

Found by edmil & maddie. In the company of the swaggies & romax. The area at least wasn't too busy so the cache was easy to retrieve after doing the math. Thanks for the cache and leading us to this neat little concrete park amidst the concrete jungle. The park only misses some painted concrete gnomes.
2007-07-07 10:15 While on winters walking weekend geocaching (www.geocaching) co ords were out. (By .001) used logs to find. thanks
Bernabird found her first cache YIIPPEE!! but I pointed the little bushes.... TFTC SL
Traffic was pretty slow on Chapel St this morning so I detoured to find this cache and allow things to pass. Every time I visit the movies near by I become more acquainted with this area, it's the only place to get a park! The park here still seemed quite modern in its design and I was surprised to find how old it was. I also noted that one of the names on the plaque was the father of an old school friend.

Nearly all the caches in this series found. Had a little trouble with this one. GPS didn't put me near the inital GZ but spotted it nearby. Then final GZ location had me on the road. Moved in the same direction as initial one was out and that put me close enough to hunt around and make the find. TNLNSL Thanks.
Found @ 3:00pm
Second of 5 for the day. First of 4 BT caches. I've looked for this one before, this time, no muggles, allowed me to claim the cache and note clue. TNLN.

Enjoyed this little park - very quiet compared to the busy Chapel Street. Thank you.
Find #69 of 101 finds for the day in the company of Dak’s Emu Mob.
It was dark when we arrived at this cache so it was a bit hard to appreciate the area. Besides, by this stage we're starting to feel the pressure so we must press on.
Thanks Dak!

Third find on visit from Hobart. Co-ords spot on and found at 16:30 on walk down Chapel St. TN, L el golco magnet.
Avoided the nearby latte set and hit the clues and maths involved .Must of had 6 goes ,some saying all sorts of distances away ,but most in one area .Finally after 20 mins hit the hide and logged the paperwork.Never seen this park before and its quite good. Thanks to dak's Emu mob for the cache.TNLN.
17th and last find this morning, Off now to see the blues. Liked this park and was able to find cache which was nicely covered without arousing suspicion in these sorts of surroundings. I think I have 12 of these BT's now but another business tripmeans I'll have to wait a couple of weeks to finish this series. Good letter this time! thanks Dak
Almost found it in the dark a few days ago even though I broke my torch. Was a fairly easy and as usual for DAK a logical find today. An interestingly different park this one. Cache properly covered too! Thanks DAK
The Emu-VW was being serviced nearby, so I dropped in to check this one. It was in place, but completely uncovered! [:(!] Although the placement makes it unlikely to be muggled, I would really appreciate it if future cachers replaced the covering on the cache. Thanks, dak.
A nice walk from our accommodation in Davis Street soon had us in this little park. Pity the Yobbo element can't trash out!!!
We found the cache easily but it ws too small to drop off Quinn the Tassy Devil TB so had to find a second one.
TOOK: A small red car
LEFT: $1.00 COIN.
Thanks daks emu mob.
Cheers Lead n' Lace.

Co-ords pointed to middle of road, felt too conspicuous to search on my own as had already hung around suspiciously to get clue co-ords so had to give up. Quite an exposed site for muggles to see you.
Left little car. Took glue stick. Found with no GPS unit and some local knowledge.
My second attempt, since there were so many folks around the first time. Like another log, I should have gone with my instinct, because I went to the place where I would have hidden it, and there it was. I had not looked closely enough before ( muggle - pressure). A nice park - do they ever have water flowing through the channels ? By the way, round on Chapel street near Commercial, there is a Dodo shop where for a $1.50 coffee, you can have as much Internet time as you like. Thin clients, no up or downloads, but fine for logging caches !
It was getting darker when I arrived just on sunset. The cache had me beat for a little while. As with others the offset was not quite right. However I am not sure how you get a practical lock at that location.
Sat down in a trail of ants to make the log and swap. Clearly it was time to go home.

2nd of 3 finds for the day.
The GPS seemed to piont to the middle of the road, so I went back and checked the coords. all seemed to be in order, so I thought I might just have a look around the likely spots and came up with the goods.

If only I went by gut instinct more often. Went back today to get this one. Was not going to leave until I found it. A short wait until some muggles had gone, and with the fading light, used this to my advantage. After a bit of a search, forgot the sheet with GPS location, still no luck. Looked at one spot, na, it couldn't be there could it. BINGO Had looked at that spot in passing a couple of days ago and ruled it out. Don't I feel silly

Just when you think you might be getting somewhere, it all goes wrong. Don't know what is wrong with Thylo's GPS today, always plays up when he is not around. Interesting little park. Just had started to do a quick search with no luck, sat down to re-look at the figures, ready to search, when a muggle couple come and still down on the grass, making themselves right at home, 20 minutes still no movement from the muggles.[:p] Oh well, will come back with the aid of Thylo and the cover of darkness. Some reason lately have been finding caches better in the dark.
Thanks, very interesting spot.

Considering the high-density accommodation in this area, I must have been pretty lucky today - had the area completely to myself with the exception of a driving instructor that pulled up nearby and stopped for a few minutes. I can't say that it is an area I'd much like to live in . The cache was a quick find and I was off to work .
TNLN
Thanks dak - now I have to devise a cunning plan to somehow get out north/west for the remaining ones.

Twenty-first Cache of seventy seven for the day: in what we called The Big Assault eighteen hours of none stop caching.
I worked at this location when I worked in security; this brought back memories of people howling at the moon and washing machines being thrown of verandas and all the other nasty goings on back then. A nice cache, in a not so grey park.
Thanks Dak you have been assaulted once more.

Hi Dak
Pinned this one down as well today. Easy find today. It seems some days are good days and some days are bad. (there's a song like that insnt there) Anyway found 3 all told today and GeoJen still loves me. Must be doing something right. (Couldn't find the second stage of Enigma though, and that was another I tried today)
Thanks again Dak.

Hi Dak
Went after this one when I couldn't get Toorak Dogs due to muggles. (I went back and succeeded in finding it later) Found the plaque and decripted the co-ords but couldn't locate the cache. Was unable to look real hard because of muggles but hopefully will get another chance sometime later. Haven't had a great couple of days caching as you can see.

Found at 4.50pm after watching a guy practicing his tennis shots against the paractice wall. I couldn't help myself and had to give him some advice on how to improve his power. He actually thanked me and as I was leaving I saw him pounding that wall with a lot of enthusiasm. The park looks a bit washed out now, so I could not really comment on how it looked originally. Regarding whether Melbourne is too drab and grey - well the Paris end of Collins St. is grey, but it sure has a lot of style. There is colour in spots around the bay - but when compared to some of the European cities such as Venice, Geneva etc, it can't compare. It is still a very young city!
Thanks Dak. tn/ln

It's funny how, when you add up the clue correctly, it is so much easier to find the cache.
I was going past today and thought I would drop in. Not so easy to find a parking spot around here. Interesting park though, a match for all the concrete in the buildings.
TNLNSL. Thanks for the series, Robmc.

With an unexpected trip back to Northland today, I made the most of the excursion and finished off the rest of the BT Series to try and catch up with RobMc after the gauntlet was laid down last week.
The last of the mohicans! Today it proved to need a return visit. I was able to caclulate GZ around lunchtime, but on moving closer any attempt was thwarted by the tree pruning team working overhead across the road, and conveniently stacking the offcuts 2m from the cache.
So a return at 5pm had the cache in hand, the code written down, and now it's time to play anagrams!

As we were walking to the first waypoint we were taken by the unusual animals in the park, a concrete park in a concrete jungle, somehow quite apt. We quickly gathered the necessary answers and the cache was soon in hand. We collected the BT clues signed the log and were off.

After leaving work I set off needing to find a cache, I knew I had to find one tonight so I could clock up my 100th cache find. It had to be tonight because it was the 1st anniversary of the Facit-Family's first find (Thanks Rhinogeo for introducing us to Geocaching )
Arrived at the park and found a car park right next to the plaque, gathered the info and retreated to the car to do the maths, all good so far! Jumped out and approached GZ only to find a sudden influx of people in the area, walkers, joggers, cars, trucks, you name it, they appeared. I sulked back to the car thinking all was lost but after a few minutes everyone disappeared and I was able to extract the cache, with help from my trusty LED key ring torch. Back to the car to log and an easy re-hide.

This was the second out of three for the afternoon. Don't have much time for caching at the moment so getting a few in today was a bonus. This one was a fairly easy find after I stopped worrying about the GPS wandering all over the place, and started looking in a few more obvious spots.

Found by Mary & David at 1550. This park is a little gem. Admired the use of native grasses and native lillies against the colours of the concrete, pebbles, rocks and the the ornamental pear trees bursting into autumn colours. Just a pity the water wasn't running. Lots of Pigeons everywhere, and they're obviously well-fed despite the signs. Took turtle, left spider. Many thanks to dak for the series so far.
The continuation of the evening caching expedition with SSMC4 saw this one next on our list. Darkness was not conducive to a full appreciation of the park but most likely assisted in the cache retrieval process for another nice easy, very cleverly hidden find at 22:30.

The third of the BT caches for the kids and I this morning. Working our way through the back streets to this location (rather than run the risks of the big traffic mornings alonf the neighbouring thoroughfares) we were able to park a few meters from the first waypoint.
Jessica collected the information and did the maths while I plugged it into the GPSr.
Uh, oh. That was our first though. Surely not in there.
We approached said area and the GPSr started to lose satellites. The buildings were giving us grief with GZ moving by 10 meters or so each time we took a step.
Taking a look I relied on dak not being a complete bastich and located the cache after about 5 minutes. Thanks goodness.
Took marbles, left super ball.
Thanks dak. Not only for the cache but the sensibility not to make this a haystack.

Found at 1:10pm. Twentysixth cache of 56 on our quest to claim the Most Cache Finds in Australia in One Day.
Only the second Non-Partic cache to be attempted today and our second find in the BT series.
Getting to here from Albert Park put us in a real traffic snarl but well worth the visit. This is the second park that we have seen recently with nice water features that we imagine need to be kept turned off due to water restrictions. Roll on the rains we say!
