Thoroughly enjoyed walking through the reserve today. There was lots of ferns and birdlife to admire. We found the cache, but its in pretty bad shape. We weren't able to sign the log as it is basically mush, but we did carve our name in the pulp. Thanks for taking this one on Rigger64

This one is in pretty bad shape and needs some TLC. Log book is no longer useable due to considerable water in container.
Every time we come to the Peninsula some CO introduces us to yet another reserve. Glad to have the opportunity to walk in this one. SL TFTC
Found it.
A nice quiet reserve although still water logged from
all the recent rain. GZ was located fairly easily and
the cache was found in the open at the base of the
tree. Log signed, cache was placed back in its hide.

Should have read the comments prior to setting out in brand new runners. Silly me! Gumboots highly recommended, wouldn't want to do this one during snake season. Fun cache to find. Great excercise! Cache is wet, left gift in log bag.
We got this one without much trouble just got very wet feet getting there. Thanks for a great cache Rigger64. SL
Fun morning out caching with Tony66. Very wet underfoot, wear waterproof shoes TFTC SL
Just about to rain made a quick dash to gz wasnt to hard to find. Thanks Piglet and Rigger64 FTC.
Out for a few hours of caching with little Miss Geokid on a quiet Australia Day afternoon.
This cache is a couple of meters off the track if you go the right way, or 200 meters of bush bashing on vague animal tracks if you go the wrong way. No prize for guessing which way we went. Finally got there after stating that we'd probably find a track near it when we got there, and we did. The walk back was much easier.
TNLN TFTC
I put a new log book in as there was only a piece of paper.

2/09/12 11:55 AM This has been the first day out caching in a while where the weather has been fantastic - Spring has started very nicely. Today Square Pegs and I are on a mission out from Melbourne to Mt Eliza and back.
After the boggy walk to the last cache this one proved to be more challenging. We found the cache very wet and I did what I could to dry it out. Thanks Rigger64.

Having found the other cache in the reserve, we then set off for this one too. It was a great way to see different parts of the park. The track here was fairly wet today, but we managed to make our way without much difficulty. It was a nice view out across the vineyard next door. Thanks Rigger64 for the cache.
After a trek through water which James Magnussen would have been proud of we found the cache. Seriously. I'm surprised we didn't see any 'gators living in the swamp that also doubled as path.
Cache was OK. Little damp is all. Took Eeyore to play with Tigger. Left army man.

I got up today ready for a big day fo caching. I was picked up nice and early buy my caching mate sedgwickdave for a caching run down on the Mornington Peninsula with the main goal of attending the Mrs Walenators Birthday event at Crib Point.
Noticed a couple of caches in this park, so stopped in to pick them up. After finding the first one, we continued along the track which became quite muddy. Arrived at GZ and found the cache without any issues, however the log book was saturated and unsignable. We just signed on a seperate sheet of paper.
Thanks to Rigger64 for the hide.

So with a day off from work, what is a cacher to do? Or the question should really be, which direction? In this case … south. I motored on down the Eastlink, past Frankston and kept to the French Island side of the area and nabbed about 30 caches for the day. At one point I nearly gave up in frustration as a number of caches appeared to be MIA or poorly positioned allowing search areas of 200m2 for small well camouflaged caches in bushland!!! Anyway after a coffee and a nice toastie, all was good and I was back on track for another good day of finds. After a few quick finds there was always going to be one that would take some time. This was it. The run into GZ was like running through soup. The ground was sodden and my shoes were saturated by the time I got back to the car. An easy find, but I had wet shoes for the next 20 caches. Thanks Rigger.
Nice easy walk through the park. Had to make a decision about which path to take at one stage, and amazingly I chose the right (which was actually the left) path!! Quick find at GZ. Thanks for the cache. Left a geocoin to continue its journey.
found on a lovely walk on a very autumnal afternoon .TN left Red Devil Gogo Traveller. TFTC.
At 4:56pm Geo Dad spotted it.
Took a while to get to GZ as we took a few wrong turns saw a fox on the way.

Pleasant walk to an easy find. GPS was confused - it kept saying Over There - but how?? TFTC
#335 As with the Alchemy2 & crank1, after all the rain of late, the track in was quite wet - not enough to prevent getting through though. Yet another cache today that we had to leave our geodog in the car for. Thanks piglet.
2/5 for a days outing with the family. Found at 1515hrs after a nice time with the family at Rayne, Hayne & Shine. Glad I had my work boots on for this one Cache jumped out at me! Covered up again.

Yaay, an easy cache, and a nice fresh walk to clear the cobwebs away. (The sun hadn't dried the dew, so we both got cold wet feet.)
Took: Nothing
Left: Screwdriver

After going on a bit longer walk than we needed to we retraced our steps and headed down the correct track - that's better! There were some lovely flowers to be admired along the way, a most pleasant walk. We left the boomerang geocoin to continue its journeys. TFTC.
The sign on the gate said no dogs what was i going to do , then I had an idea I would stand up on two legs and pretend to be human Wow much easer this way I can hold the GPS with spare leg to ease Buckly shmuckly had the cache in other spare foot in no time

On alighting from our geovehicle we could hear fire sirens in the distance and thought that, if it was another time of the year, we would not be venturing into this bushland area, which contains very heavy fire fuel loads! We read the information on the Cinnamon Fungus but would have appreciated more detail as to what it does and what the spores look like. After a short walk partly through very wet ground we arrived at a well cameoed cache. Thank you for bringing us to the pleasant location.

Attempted this one first up on a day of geocaching down on the mornington peninsula,
After a comprehensive search about the area all i could find was a wooden ladlebeetle, I headed for another cache finding another ladlebettle, So i know i must of been close to the gz if it was still there???

Found at 1115 hours, I was in the area to do some work. When I finished I rang the boss to see if there was anything else to do. While I was waiting for a reply I wander up to the entrance to the reserve.
Strolled down to GZ, found the cache, signed the log and wandered back to the Ute. Headed back towards the boss's house when I received a call from the boss. So I then headed to Beaumaris to do another job, then from there to Surrey Hills for another job.
Anyway back to the cache.

After some of the long walks geojunior and I have done today, a nice 350m is a walk in the park. It had started to get dark so it was basicly get in, find cache and may be try and get it one more find before it was completely dark. Geojunior found this one. The cache is in need of replacement as it was very waterlogged.
Found on a day out with Jyetara, contents are getting moldy and log book damp, really needs a better container.

We were looking for one of those winery restaurants for lunch and this popped up on the radar. A short walk and quick find of a very damp container (not a sistema) around 12:40pm. Dried everything as best we could so we could sign the log at least. TNLN. Thanks piglet*. Now, where's that lunch .
No trouble here! Geojen and myself took the required wander into the bush and found the cache just where the GPS said it would be. Very nice.

One of my fav. places on the penninsula.
Lots of roo's and ecidnas if you're quiet!
Must stick to tracks, having mapped this reserve myself for work reasons, the bush between the tracks is veery dense have trip and wildlife hazards.
Also unique flora: see if you can find Stylidium Graminifolium (google it) - easy to miss but unique in its "trigger".
PM me and I wil send you coordinates.

1st of 4 finds on a morning cache hunt with my 3 yo daughter. Found cache @ 1030 with water in it and contents water logged. Drained water out and dried as best I could as it was drizzling at the time. Log was damp but was still able to log my find. Container needs replacing with one that is more waterproof.
