We couldn't say no to looking for this oldie cache, despite it being such a drizzly morning. Matagouri was onto it pretty quickly. Thanks for putting it here all those years ago
Rattll and I are on a three week road trip around the South Island. Today, we started in Blackball in drizzly rain, and we've made our way to Wakefield tonight. No real targets for the day, although adlabs are always good, but somehow we've picked up some goodies for the day.We paused here to look for this older cache. Started off fixated with the information panel, but then I reinterpreted the hint, and started looking in another location. An instant find after that. All good in the container. Signed, and returned as found, but with a couple of extra rocks for protection! Tftc!
So that was harder than its meant to be. GPS zoomed me in on the sheltered signboards. Was dark so after a couple of minutes checked the hint. Well, that's interesting as the principle object that the hint mentions I'm standing right beside under the shelter. I was about to hop in the car and depart when I looked a bit further afield and came up trumps.
The log was wet here and someone had put a nice dry one in a seperate container.
Given though it was a very nice day, and we were having a brewup, I managed to get the old log reasonably dry and used that.
Cheers and thanks,
S.t.

Thanks for your amazing cache. I really appreciate the time you took to set up and maintain your caches.
Found with Fisha1288
Put new log into a small pill bottle as the existing log is soaked and not signable.
Cheers, Cympull.

We have never been on this road past the Blackball turnoff and were pleased that it was a very good road indeed plus it was very quiet.
After finding the cache, we decided to use the picnic table to have some morning tea, but when I went to get my phone out of my bag, it wasn't there. Horrors, I had last seen it at an Ad Lab WP in Blackball! Morning tea delayed, we raced back to Blackball and found the phone exactly where I had left it, so all good in the end.
This is the third Moneydork cache we have found this weekend, amazing how many are still out there. TFTC.

#21594. Cache was a quick find. We were about to dig into a bag of chips when Troodles realised her phone was AWOL, so it was back to Blackball to retrieve the phone (and crack open the bag of chips). TFTC.
Cache was out in the open clearly been muggled but all good ..hid a little better after signing the log tftc
Nice straightforward find, thanks.
I'm taking 10 days to e-bike 600 km from the West Coast to Picton, to mark my 60th birthday. Day 2 today, Kumara to Pike River Memorial. This was a good spot to rest my legs, read some local history, and find a cache

Heading away after a weekend in Blackball. Stopped to read the information boards and find the cache of course. Thanks for the placement moneydork
I had moved my snail shell from Hokitika to Reefton today and parked it up at the racecourse. Then I was off in the cachemobile to oick up a few caches.
I didn't find this one in the moonlight but nice brilliant daylight.
Cheers for the cache.

Today we were out on a maintenance run out to Nelson Creek to check all the cards then up to Ikamatua and home via Taylorville Rd on a miserable rainy day. I knew this one was wet so it got added to our maintenance list today. There was water inside the bag so the log was glued shut and the container had abit of yucky green tinged water in the bottom so we actually just replaced the whole thing encase the container was part of the problem. All good to go here again. Happy Caching
Torrential rain here today, interesting to read the history and stay dry under the shelter.
Couldn't sign for this as paper too wet and did not gave replacement. Great hide though
We had stopped here to have our lunch while out travailing. As it happened, we sat on our camp chairs right beside where the cache was. I just did a cache search out of interest, and hey presto. Thanks for the chance.
Tree bight was a good clue. Thx. 4pm now, so some distance south is due. 4th find today on this road. Thx everyone.
A quick find after an unsuccessful foray into Blackball for a cache there. I actually came for the multi, but once solved that realised I would need to backtrack down the road. That can wait for another day. Quick find here, cache a little exposed so tucked in better. Think I might have added some RITR paper too. TFTC Moneydork.
Just started this week with my 7 yr old daughter, this is the first one we found, pretty cool as our family have been associated with the Moonlight for over 140 years. TFTC!
found with UlmusLynx on our way to Greymouth
great hide

Think this has been altered since the cache was put here. However located and TFTC
Did it in daylight as we were already there for the multi. Karma Reprint had it some time ago but wasn't sure of location. I shouldn't have looked at the hint as that was no help to me! Got it in the end after the tree bit me. Tftc
Nice to find some shade on a hot day! The cache needs a new container, it's wet!
We are on vacation in New Zealand and of course we seek some caches.
Thanks for this one! Stichie spot.
Greetings from the Dutch.

Found with our 3 and 5 y.o. Thank you Moneydork for making us stop here. Quick find. Some water in cache but the new logbook was dry.
Caching by Moonlight at midday - not often that happens! Spent a bit of time reading the boards and looking at the photos after finding the cache of course. TFTC # 13,084
It never ceases to amaze me how disgusting some members of the human race can be so disgusting. I found the cache underneath a used and very full nappy that had been thrown into the bushes. I got it into a plastic bag and drove with the windows down to blackball to dispose of it in a bin. Tftc Moneydork

Out doing maintenance on the other side of the river so afterwards we came over this side and Mum maintained this the CO. The container wasnt waterproof but was cracked anyway so the logbook was soaked. New container with a new log so its just like brand new again. All good to go.
An interesting place to stop. Log very wet - lid was not on properly. Cleaned as best I could but might need another dry log.
The Council must be doing there job,as there was no rubbish to be seen today. We had our Lunch here before heading to the next one on our list.TFTH
We went to NZ for six weeks and did some geocaching on the way
We started exploring in Christchurch. What an exciting city, we loved it! The ReStart Market, the food trucks, the people, awesome city! After CHCH we went south. Dunedin and the pinguins were great! We went to Stewart Island and even Ulva Island to see some birds and find a geocache down south. From there we went to the North. Doubtfulsound was beautiful and sunny, Lake Wanaka wonderful! Abel Tasmantrack is an awesome hike, i can recommend it to all geocachers. The North Island was also a succes. Rotorua and the Vulcano's, wow! Napier, Tongariro Crossing, Ohopi Beach, White Island, big Kauri trees, Cape Reinga, the Bay of Islands... it was all fantastic.
We did love travelling and camping in NZ.

We didn't cache by moonlight but it was dark enough to have been moonlight. Quite a miserable day weatherwise.
+ a marble, - nothing.
+ a marble, - nothing.
We had a nice quick stop over in Moonlight. I'm afraid I don't know much about this historic settlement but I bought a book about the history while I was in Black Ball and I'm looking forward to reading some of the local history. The cache was an easy find by daylight since it was rather visible. Tftc.
During our vacation to New Sealand we visited many beautiful places and visited some caches. This one was one of them. The container could be found easily. It was retrieved quickly and logged mugglefree. Without this old Cache we had not visited this place determined.
Danke für’s Legen und Pflegen an / Thanks for placing & maintaining this stash to Moneydork.

I was fortunate enough to be able to squeeze an 11 day holiday out of two leave days!! I headed out west to find some caches, see some sights, and relax before the madness of the semester hits. The weather was unbelievably good, only a bit of a storm over Arthur's Pass on the first day, otherwise hot and sunny. I found a great variety of caches, drive by's, walks, hikes, even a power trail. Thank you to all the CO's for their great hides!!!
Today was to be a big day, and it started early, too. I was out on the road with the break of dawn, aiming to get a few, and a couple more The main plan was to attack the cards, but I managed to get in a good variety today! TFTC!!

Stopped for a cuppa and to compose myself after an emotional visit to the Pike Memorial. Tftc
Found 2 caches - an old and broken systema and a new container with the logbook. A quick find, TFTC
Drove over from Christchurch yesterday, staying in Greymouth for a couple of nights. Today I got up to Ikamatua along the state highway, then the return trip via the back roads on the other side of the river, caching all the way. I confused myself with the hint. Got the cache though. A little bit of moonlight out this evening. TFTC (2189)
[green] Drove down Friday night for a three day wages to petrol extravaganza. Doing the Blenheim - Greytown - Westport Blenheim loop. Drove to Reefton Friday night so I could grab some empty log books early this morning. That done its on with the main mission. An awesome three day experience, only about 30 caches per day, but two badge upgrades, wekas, seals and penguins, an awesome coast road and coastal walk. Wonderful.
Taking the back road into Greytown, if this road can be called the back road .
An easy find by daylight, found without the hint (is there a hint? I haven't checked!). Added an emerald. Cache had a lot of water in it, but the log was fine.

On an epic caching mission with Shannonp1 through Reefton to Greymouth over the Lewis Pass, cacheing in Greymouth then returning to Rangiora via Arthurs Pass over two days. Final count for the weekend was over 200 caches. A quick easy find on our way past.
On an epic caching mission with Surveybase to North canterbury, Waipara, Culverdon, Springs Junction, Reefton, Greymouth, Arthurs Pass and back to Rangiora over two days. Final count for the weekend was Saturday 124 caches, Sunday 80 caches. not a bad weekends work. sorry for the cut and paste but it would take forever to log them all. Did it during the day on the way past. TFTC.
Heading homeward after a weekend trip to the area we decided to take the alternative route to Ikamatua. As we pulled in here we noted 2 vehicles and thought we'd have to leave it but then noticed one was about to take off. Not the other one though, it was parked less than 2m from GZ so we 'stretched our legs', inspected the nearby feature, looked at the various trees then the other driver alighted and took a few pix and soon enough drove off. By now we had spotted the cache so it was a quick retrieval after that. Thank you Moneydork.
Returning home from Greymouth we decided to stay on "the other side" of the river till Ikimatua and do some caches on the way. We had to outwait 2x muggles with the first soon leaving. The next was going to lecture us on hydraulic mining but our absolute disinterest in the subject left him shooting a feature length movie on his video camera before joining his travel companion and finally moving on. It had allowed us to visualy locate the cache so it didn't take long to take care of the formalities. Thank you Moneydork for placing this cache.
Tftc. Love your hiding spots. Contained one loom band and one stone. Unfortunately my truck was bare of trinkets except fishing gear and food.
