Coords took us straight to it. Staying with muggle friends up the road, so brought them along for the find. Unfortunately the cache was full of water and log book absolutely soaked. Just managed to sign log, but the cache desperately needs some TLC. TFTC
Cache found half full of water, logbook soaking wet. Didn't had a new logbook and spare bag with me. Can the owner or the next cacher bring a new logbook, bag and pen?
Found while introducing friends to Geocaching. The cache was half full of water and the logbook soaking wet. We were unable to sign the logbook.

Finally got around to having another crack at this one. Perhaps just because I'm a little older/wiser, but successful this time around.
Off to geocache the Tongariro Crossing shortly, so grabbed GC/TBs to move along.

A lovely little walk through groves of Nikau Palms to a lovely little shell beach. A relatively easy find. Awesome to see someone had put a Linux Installer Disc in the cache. I hope someone will use it and love it!

- Davie Holden Keyring
+ Blow-up Beach/Pool Penguin
Cache is dry inside bag, but there is a little water in the box itself.

Greetings from Australia. In the books of LEDGIN'S. Found at 1201hrs. TNLN TFTC.
A great area - very hidden away and unspoilt.
A great area - very hidden away and unspoilt.
I had forgotten how narrow and windy were the rds around here.
Eventually got to GZ after a wet and sloshy walk.
Took a few mins to find and I nearly gave up when I nearly walked on it.
The lid was a bit loose but contents still dry.

Decided to come here first before our coffee at the Hardware and the start of a day's geocaching in this area. What a lovely beach - water was calm as anything, fish were flying and views great.
Found on our 2nd attempt. Had a nice dinner on the beach before starting the hunt. TFTC

Alas couldn't locate even when at GZ, hint conflicted and couldn't seem to put two and two together... [:-(]
Out on the hunt with the inimitable XenaCommander aboard Splat the city cache machine... continuing our mission to bag some more Westie caches.... feeling a lttle the worse for wear after our celebrations and staying up to watch the skytower fireworks from the top floor of the Commanders castle a fantstic vantage point.
We barrelled down the steep windy road pulling up only when it ran out. Both of us admired the old green bach at the road end.. what a classic. The track and the beach are true hidden gems. This is what geocaching is all about for us, to share these little known and secret spots with other like-minded folk.
Lots of laughs trying to find the cache... TK had one rear paw firmly planted on the cache so it was kind of difficult to locate.... duhhhhhhh TK has some classic blonde days.... XC has "caged budgie" days where his "onboard" flight navigation systems go temporarily offline... hehehehe
XC did a TB trade. We spied a copy of Ubuntu so it was decided that the Intel TB should stop here with it. TK added a small elephant and a little yellow duckie from XCs cache bag. TFTC and for the magic spot

I've now called a helpline and it appears that I was looking in precisely the right place, but I found nothing. The title of the cache means nothing (and I did "walk the pipeline" too...still means nothing), the "flat" is about 30m from the gate...we thought that the hint might have meant "grate" so we tried 11m from there either way...nothing...if it's there...I will go off and get some lazik surgery and attempt some other time perhaps.
So we huffed off and went and had lunch at the Hardware Cafe back in Titirangi Village.

Out and about on Splat with TechnoKitten riding shotgun. Trying to work off a fuzzy head after last nights New Years celebrations... (
Rode down steep hills to this little bay I didn't know existed. Walked to beach and over to GZ. XC paced out required steps and had to move TK's foot off cache to pick up... The kitten is a bit blind today..!!
TK signed the log and I swapped Donald TB with Intel Bug TB

Wow, what a nice little and hidden place for a picnic. We needed some time and the hint to find the container that blinked through the foliage right under our noses (green paint is nearly off). We replaced the silica satchels and had some reading fun with the German book for learning Japanese.

Sometimes you look to hard. Easy this time with Mrs Wonder and her hawk eye - took pic. TFTC
Went to site after work after taking care to make sure where it would be. Tide was almost fully in so had to make a leap in faith to get across. Once there, found the location after employing the help of a nearby large stick.
Took Ducky and will deposit this weekend at next site.
Went back with the kids on 10 November and left Tofska Key #2.

15:18 Well great spot but couldn't locate the cache. Very muddy to day, so as per traditional I fell on my bum and got covered in mud. Thanks for the cache, will have to bribe a further clue for this one. Must have spent at least an hour looking and all I found was some broken bottles and an old shoe
Nope, couldnt find it, Ill come back with a better gps unit and I will look harder hehe

Very cheeky hide sp8’s, not the usual place to expect a cache hide. Contents are safe and dry despite its location. Had to wait out a group of teenage muggles before making the find. Thanks for bringing us here, the tide was out but there were no dog walking muggles about.

Another one for Dug n Muzza with no GPS.. just google earth & a nosey nose. Lovely spot..Dad used to bring me here about 40 yrs ago.. I can still remember there was a bloke living there had a heck of a collection of old tractors we used to play on.... got an additional good hint ... look for the big smelly lump of doggy doos with a perfect imprint of my left boot in it. Took a bouncy super ball, left 5x sticky back cable tidys & 10 cable ties.
Dropped off Commanders Scout 5 T.B.... picked up Octavia T.B.

OUR 700 TH CACHE !!!!!!!!!!
Time to celebrate - so we set free the "Highly Addictive" gecoin... thinks it suits perfectly. (Though we know one or two who are even more addicted, hey Zorgon, hey Buzz Tasman, hey Moneydork!
We perserved with this one.... misinterpreted the GZ on our GPS and thought we had to go uphill - until RadioNut stood on it!!! that hollow clunch sound was greatly appreciated.
Unfortunately Ozzy Otter TB was not found in cache, and appeared to be no paper log of his escape.
Thanks for this cache, and the name certainly reminds me of the weeks I spent in Titirangi, and having lunch during my AUT off campus courses.
JHemp's Last Chance TB saw this as a good cache to rest in... lovely to find a 2L cache.

Last cache with Curseddagger's family before back they're off to Australia. This cache is a wonderful walk to take the kids or the dog with you. Quite a secluded beach to have a swim at. Great to meet a fellow Geocacher, nice meeting you Bald-Ed.

As I was leaving the car to walk to the cache I met up with peachs and cursedragon (from Australia) and we all went and made a combined effort at it whilst shooting the breeze. Swapped a couple of TB's with curseddagger and left some silica gel.
2nd visit for me too. Once two lots of muggles had departed, it surrendered fairly easily this time. Cache in good condition. TNLN, cheers sp8sm8.
Great find, last one for the NZ trip... going back to AUS today. took a go and couldn't find it so we went back to the car to read some more about it on the laptop. Ran into fellow geocacher bald-ed? on the way and went back for a second attempt together. found within 5 minutes exactly where the clue suggested. cache was in good order but i really don't think a car emergency flare is a good idea for an item because small kids could get a hold of it and hurt themselves. removed the flare from the cache as a swap.

Well, I finally found it today on my 2nd visit. I have to admit, though, I did have help from friends. Thanks, Beauty and the Beast, for the extra clue.
Even then it took a little while as I didn't know which of the plants you refered to. The cache is well hidden. The Hint is a little short. You can easily add 50% more.

The 2nd DNF of the day. Not a very good start[B)][B)]. Spent 35 minutes in the area before having to give up. Also a 2L container is not that small. It will need another visit.
Yay, had a chance to pop out yesterday, and we found it! yay!
yep it was well hidden, but all our bush-bashing was definitely NOT REQUIRED!
As it happens, when we were searching for it a muggle came down the private road, of course asking us what we were doing! As we saw few bottles there, we said that we're just cleaning up beaches etc... huh what a save... not!
out the bush: 3 bottles!
out the cache: a TB "When I Get A Round Tuit!"
in the cache: nil
TFTC and for checking the cache for us.

Cache check, after yesterdays DNF, cache safe and sound, added a few goodies, swapped TB's. Needed an excuse to get out and get some fresh air anyway.
Stomped around, used the clue, and found nothing but broken bottles and stumped on grass. As opposed to the other logs, our GPSr was pointing always in the same place, consistent with the clue, but still nothing, except for rubbish, broken bottles and lots of mud... Gave up after about 20 minutes. Nice bay, would love to see it in a high tide, so we'll be back. Sounds like it might be easier to find at night?!?
What a little gem of a bay. Scrabbled about a bit, but found it in the end. Some muggles arrived by boat.
Followed our way to the park, and then realised we did not have the clue due to printing only pg 1. Rang JR who got out of bed and looked it up. This helped and Kaimai bagged her first one. Took photos of Kayak Joe bug riding the rapids in the river.
Set off early for a days worth of hunting. Found this cache after a phone call to get the hint. Managed to find my first one with help from skiff and outdoor anne.
Found it after about 10 mins of looking around.

Last of the day and in the dark.
Found GZ no problem but decided that if dinner was to happen at a reasonable time ( I'm a North Shore boy) I should use the clue. Not much progress until I stepped on a very plasticky sounding piece of grass - Voila!!
Took TB and added ...can't remember; it was getting late

After trying 3 different roads and ending up at various other beaches we found the correct road. First attempted to walk around the coastline from the boat club, but then decided against it. Cache was a fairly easy find once at the correct beach.

This was another nice find. The area was a bit stinky today because there had been sewage spill and there were signs and tape on the walk down to the beach. Had a nice walk along the beach. The path is a bit boggy but still an easy enough walk.

Freezing cold southerly wind this afternoon so we didn't linger on the beach. Could appreciate that this would be a beautiful secluded spot on a summers day. Nice quick find. Thanks. TNLN
Took me a little while to find the right road down there but it was certainly well worth it. Kids took off as soon as they saw the water and left me to find the cache on my own. Unfortunately I found a big brown spider in the bushes.....but I did eventually find the box too! Also found a washed up cows head on the rocks....uuurrghh.

I didn't have my detail sheet with me on this one.I started over 400 mteres to the south & walked in around the coast line.Luckily the tide was out. When I arrived there were two women & there dogs on the beach.I had to wait for one of them to dawdle off before I could go in for the cache.Found it after about four minutes searching.Trampled area drew me off course a bit. While I was there a little black rabbit was popping in & out of the bush.On the way back I past two people with a dog.I think only people with dogs come here.TNLNSL

Stopped by, with friends, on our way home from a days tramping and a visit to Mount Donald Mclean.

My son told me he knew the spot because he went there last week and was admiring the sheep.
I thought he was dreaming but sure enough, sheep in a paddock.
Well trampled around target even in the wrong places. With no luck we got close to giving up so tried to re interpret the clue upside down and inside out. After one last go guess where we found it... exactly where it should have been. I need new glasses or a white stick.

My mother had memories of this little beach when she had gone there with her parents many, many years ago. When I was a child, she tried to take us there. She couldn't find the public access, so it remained one of those childhood stories: A tiny beach covered in white oyster shells, piled high in great drifts over the sand.
Today we found it a charmingly tranquil spot. I went off to claim the FTF, while my children (another generation!) played in the shells.
The cache is well hidden by the foliage, and the GPS reception is not wonderful. Fortunately I stumbled across it very quickly.
TNLN - children were too busy playing.
