Some winter sunshine for a change and an hour or two to spare had us grabbing some caches along the coast south of Port Vincent.

We saw this one had recently been replaced so we walked the extra distance to find it.

Many thanks for the hide Tclan

Replaced!

A nice walk out here today, bought a cache to replace this oldie to keep it alive for the CO

With 2.5 days free and nothing to do, what better than to head to the yorke peninsula for a few days. I made a plan of trying to clean up majority of the caches on the peninsula going from cache to cache. Managed to come away with only a few left and 247 finds for the few day trip.

Thanks for the cache

Thought we’d try our luck but no success

29-Nov-21
Had a good look around. Found a likely hiding spot but sadly no cache. A string of DNFs, it would be great if CO could check on this one.

Thanks for the cache Tclan.

Search high and low and did not find

09-Aug-21
Long grass slippery ground was not a good combination, disturbed a blue tongue but no wriggly sticks, think we lost our mojo here and suffered cache blindness will look again another day and the opportunity for another stroll down this track till then TFTC

25-Mar-21
Well I looked and I looked. White stone? Nope, can't see any. Now they all look white! Nearly went head first down the slope so decided to call a halt to the search. I may return (or I may not!).

Touring around the mid Yorke with Purrfect Di today.
The Team Mattycat stamp today means the two of us passed by CoolCool

Giving this one a fav point for being a real geocache, not a mint tin Wink
And a great walk here once we found the right level to be at Cool

Left a trackable for the next finder to move on.

Thanks for placing and maintaining this cache on our map Tclan

Come wine and dine in the Barossa sometime soon and feel free to leave a few new cache hides out this way Razz

Pick a white rock, any white rock! Ol made the spot after Wal spied some cache treasure on the ground. (despite what the description says, you do have to climb the lower section of the rocks, before it gets really steep). TFTC

29-Apr-18
Really should read the description first and save yourself the climb up and back down again to then take the right track. The search took a while with the cache eventually found after widening the search beyong the apparent GZ. TFTC.

21-Apr-18
Somewhat more than 3 for terrain, we think. Found eventually.

13-Jan-18
Nice workout

08-Oct-17
Today we explored Port Vincent and then travelled to Port Julia and Black Point and finished at Pine Point using Geocaching as a guide and picking up a few caches on the way and this was one of them. We enjoyed this series walking along the cliff track and the panoramic views of the bay. An easy find at GZ.

Thanks for placing and maintaining this cache for our enjoyment.

After a fantastic June Long Weekend in Edithburgh it was now time to head back towards Adelaide. Mogni need to catch a plane at the airport and I needed to have a rest. Surprised But we had all day to get to the airport so we stopped and grabbed a few caches along the way. [^] Well twenty plus caches actually Big Grin
we had really enjoyed our walk along the cliff top to get to here but now it was time to come down on the beach. what a magical spot. had fun walking over the rocks to get to GZ where a few box thorns were getting a bit big to make it without a couple of scratches. A quick search and the great large cache was in hand. Smile
Dropped in a TB
Thanks for the walk and cache Tclan. Big Grin

12-Jun-17
Making the long journey home from another great June Long weekend event in Edithburgh.
Stopping to grab just a few more geocaches while on the way to Mount Gambier.
I really enjoyed making our way to this one.
Thanks

#2486 Our first impressions of Port Vincent was what a neat and tidy town and it is no surprise it has won the award. Time to turn back down this lovely trail to explore the town further. Nice cache container! TFTC Tclan.

11-Dec-16
On our stay in Port Vincent during December I was pleased to see plenty of geocaches on the map, which would keep my current streak going. That meant finding just one a day, and walking/driving past others on the way there though, which was a bit frustrating.

This was one of the better caches I found. Got to love an ammo tin, and I appreciate any cache container large enough to hold a few trackables, so I dropped one off. Was a warm day for a walk, and I got a sweat up by the time I got back to the car.

Please note, this cache must be approached from the beach and NOT the cliff top. You will have to clamber over rocks, and climb up the hill a bit, but the terrain rating is about right I reckon. TFTC.

Unfortunately my phone battery died right at the most inopportune moment - 5m to the cache. I looked in as many places as I could that fitted the clue but it really could have been anyway, and with no GPS I was blind Sad Sadly with the encroaching tide I had to give in and head back. Next time I'm down I'll give this another go!!

Pretty proud of muggle husband. Took the wrong track cos did not read the hint and information.
Anyhow determination set in & he/we came up with the goods. Pretty good considering our age & when last find was logged. Tftc

13-Aug-16
**this is a late log** I have recently made a major upgrade to my GSAK license and found this lovely feature that automatically tells me what caches I have marked found in GSAK but never logged on geocaching.com!! Yay, Clyde, you can have my money anytime! The caches I am logging in this batch were ones I did in 2016. I cache with an assortment of cachers and never alone. In 2016 I cached with Moneydork, Ride the GeoWalrus, Locus Cacher, Liz & Bruce and Team Zouk. My log should match up with one of theirs. I enjoy every cache find I have made and do not for one second take for granted the effort going into each one, its just I'm very bad at logging my finds and I'm trying to improve. To improve I have to reduce the quality of my log and just get it over with -- for now. If I can form a good habit again I will return to my once more meaningful logging. Thanks heaps for hiding caches around South Australia that I could find!

Left Yorketown, and travelled to Minlaton via Port Vincent, picking up caches with Konie.
We travelled some great country roads, and the scenery was stunning.
Even though it was quite hot, we managed to do a few trail and other caches in the area.

Many thanks for placing this cache, Tclan, for us and others to find.

19-Feb-16
Today we are heading back to the Yorke peninsula to chase a few first to finds up for grabs and continue finding caches here, its great to be back on the Yorke peninsula and what was suppose to be a overnight stay ended up being 2 nights and 3 days here on the Yorke peninsula, we managed to find quite a few while here and on our third day we had to head back earlier than planned after car issues, the weather was very pleasant while here and we look forward to returning back here to keep finding more caches, we thank all the COs for placing these caches for us to find and making our visit very enjoyable. Off on another road trip for work, finished for the day and was heading to my home for the night. Decided to go for a walk before settling down for the night, and this trail sounded very appealing .

I decided to sit on the rocks for a while taking some photos.. was quite relaxing... Lucky it was windy.. Kept the flies off my face Smile

Thanks for the walk and the cache tclan Smile

Found with Deltaducks and sharkbait2005. Lovely little sheltered area along the cliff tops. Tricky climb to get to GZ, and found the cache had been moved. Relocated to GZ and a hide appropriate to the hint. Tftc

02-Oct-15
Out for a walk to clean up the last few PV caches. Enjoyed our walk along this section of coast collecting the caches. Took some climbing and hunting but got there. Glad it was low tide. TFTC

Found with DeltaDucks and Stavros08 on a family holiday to Port Vincent. TFTC

21-Aug-15
Day three of the short holiday with Bettyboo3747. Cycled around Port Vincent.
Ran north in the morning, then south in the afternoon (well shanks ponies in the afternoon).
Lovely views all along the coast, with the Gulf on one side, and the green and gold fields on the other.
Walked down the stairs and caught a blue tongue sunning himself (he was not impressed!)
Walked back up the other side, then realized we were not quite in the right spot! (should have read the description!)
Nice day for a walk anyway Smile
Back on the rocks and the cache was eventually spotted.
First time I have seen an ammo can described as Small. Always good to see them though.
Thanks, Robmc.

21-Aug-15
8691. One full day in Port Vincent so Robmc and I managed a 13km ride around town and several walks to gather some smilies. To our surprise after a rainy start the skies cleared and we enjoyed a sunny, if windy day touring around. The ocean looked magnificent in its many shades of blue!

It seems this cache has been a "regular-sized" container since early 2009 but the cache size on the page is still "small". We were fossicking around for a small container but once I read ammo can, well that changed our search somewhat and Rob soon discovered the hide. Not sure which white rock it is supposed to be under - maybe that was for the original hide.

It has been a great walk to this point and now we get to enjoy it again on the way back. Spectacular views yet again.

Thanks. Tclan

Had a couple of days off from the Adelaide Hills fire so headed to Yorke Peninsula to clear the lungs and head and grab some caches. TFTC. Big Grin

29-Oct-14
The cache is nine years old. Wow! Oops... After a false start up the wrong track because I did not read the description in the first place. Red Face Found it easily in spite of many scrambles. Big Grin

Thanks Tclan for the cache Smile

Last one before heading back.

Thanks to all who placed caches.

16-Aug-14
Another day on the Yorke with alansee and Team Crackers. A variety of caches were encountered and eventually conquered, making for an enjoyable and liesurely day out. I'm sure a few extra finds would have occurred but taking a long lunch put paid to that expectation.

Many thanks Tclan for placing this cache Cool.

16-Aug-14
Day three with Alansee and Micaparamedic we were finishing off a few caches around Port Vincent and then heading to Wallaroo for a few days caching there

This one took the longest to find of the caches along this little trail but eventually mica came up with the goods and our names were added to the log

To save room in the logs we signed as M.A.C.( Micaparamedic Alansee and Team Crackers).

Thanks for the cache.

16-Aug-14
Found with Team Crackers and Micaparamedic on another great SA caching day. I went one way, one went another, and the third went the right way where we all met for the find.

14-Jul-14
An evil stepping stone test here to get to GZ Twisted, with many rocks and much clambering involved. Ismartis having bad balance was very slow on this section so she went most of the way but was happy for CP and Dr Owl to make the final find on her behalf.

TFTC Tclan!

14-Jul-14
A cache that tested Owl's rediscovered fitness after surgery a couple of months ago. She and CPwanderer approached GZ from different sides and made the find almost simultaneously, then Owl exited the site on her knees. A lovely area to explore whether on your knees or not!

14-Jul-14
A rocky walk to get to this cache. Aussie Mary has lousy balance and there was several cries from her friend and fellow cacher, Doctor Owl, of do not come all the way Mary, or , only as far as you can without falling...., I never know when I am about to fall. Anyway, I loved the great spot, the amazing rocks, and the experience. Only Sushilord, in our party, had already done this cache.... A statement on his health or ours perhaps???? TFTC Tclan.

14-Jul-14
To be honest Id never got around to this cache on my many trips to the YP as there were so many others to do. The placing of a number on the path to this one was the incentive to make the journey. Gets a favourite from me as the journey to it was memorable and it was a nice sized hide!!!

10-May-14
Touring Australia having left Perth in late February we are leisurely touring South Australia after having attended Oz Mega. Big Grin

Today was a quieter day for us touring with iluvtrekking. We headed out from Coobowie to, Port Giles, Wool Bay, Stansbury and Port Vincent before returning to Coobowie.

The weather was threatening at one point, but generally we had the best possible weather and company. We saw some awesome views and extremely grateful for seeing some highlights that Yorke Peninsula has to offer.

Here the boys went it alone on foot and collected a swag of caches with this being 1 of them. They thought we could drive to pick them up from here but alas all the roads we located were on private property so they had to retrace their steps to the beginning.

On the road with FelixII exploring the Yorke Peninsula.

Today was to be a casual trip along some of the eastern beaches, a bit of lunch and a bit of caching. This was one of the caches that we happend on during our travels.

My sore ankle is sore again, knees are stuffed on us all.....but the views, the sealife that we saw...the kids had a ball, a wonderful cache thankyou.

I thought "Charlie" was my first find (half an hour after joining up as a Geocacher) but I actually found this one 11/6/2012. I was doing some "geocatching" (so I thought it was) as an activity with a group of other people. I didn't have a clue it was part of a world wide game but I was the one that found it, so I guess that counts, even if I was a muggle Smile Took nothing, left nothing, signed nothing, just found it! Thanks a lot for the cache Tclan, you got me hooked (and I didn't even know it!), cacheloupe.

26-May-12
This was our 2nd of 19 finds today - and we found it at around 12:21.
(So this is our 4168th total find.)

Loved the walk along the cliff tops - up until the squall hit and we became absolutely drenched.
A nice quick find followed by a very squelchy walk back to the car - and then the rain stopped!

Took: Nothing
Left: Nothing
Thanks Tclan for the hunt today.
