Cache couldent be found, we will replace it shortly.

23-Mar-08
Like the person before us we could not locate the cache. The clues fitted but there was too much gorse, bracken, and black berry to really do a thorough search.

15-Feb-08
Crawled all over the place and could not find it. Also figured caching in dress pants and shoes is less then smart.

Maybe next time

Great view on a lovely evening.
Geocoin left & travel bug taken. We planned to drop it off the same evening but seemed to have trouble finding the next two, so will place it somewhere else asap.

The carpark was duly found, and on a hot day, the short shady bushwalk was most welcome - a fascinating area. The cache was soon located - despite the strange looks from passing muggles. + TB Dog Tag - - paperclip. Thanks and cheers from Grandalf(1024)

Been meaning to do this one since we started, but it has always been too wet! Didn't expect so many possible hiding places. Had to look busy while some folk admired the view. Our 10th find without GPS.

13-Oct-07
Found this cache easily. Nice spot. Thanks for the cache.

16-Sep-07
After our weekend with friends in a bach east of the Hunua Ranges, we went for this cache on our way back. We especially liked the stone steps on the way up. The dog in the next house did not like our appearing and barked around all the time. After having a round view, we returned to the car only to disturb four youngsters smoking pot. At least our car windows were still intact.

Took: Penguin keyring
Left: Plastic snake

Fabulous spot. A challenging climb under slippery conditions to be rewarded with a lovely view at the top. Our GPS was way way off and we we forced to use the clue which facilitated an easy find. Really enjoyed this one! Thanks for bringing this place to our attention.

+ penguin key ring / bottle opener
- Jackel the Assasin (a scary TB to be moved on at first opportunity)
+ SL TFTC!

27-Aug-07
Very nice, thoroughly enjoyed the bit of bush, the rock formations and a visit to what is quite an impressive historical site. Cache very easy to spot once I got to GZ, ripe for a muggling really. Did my best to cover it up a bit but couldn't do too much more unless I moved it some distance. Left me wondering if it was in the right spot?

+/- nil, TFTC and showing me this.

04-Aug-07
We had to take the long way to get here, after deciding we'd walk from friends house! LOL next time we will check the map before leaving ; )
Left Jackal the Assassin TB, and found Jandal TB, but is missing jandal Sad
TFTC, very wet underfoot, great views and rock formations.

The lid had popped off and things were a bit wet so we dried them off.

In Frog
Out Girrafe erasers and Jandal TB

04-Jun-07
Everyone says "trust your GPS" - if we did that we would never find anything. GPS had us a good 10 to 15 metres away contenplating a trip into the gorse. we used the clue and saved a painful search in the wrong place.
In - Torch (battery removed so as not to pollute cache)
Out - Bottle opener.
In - Released our first TB - JANDAL - to start its world tour.

01-Jun-07
Had to wait for some muggles to leave as they were standing near GZ - however once they left we found pretty easily! This was our third cache today, but only one sucessful (others had been too busy with muggles!).

Took Fire Truck
Left Girrafe keyring

#154 Admired strange cliff formations before heading up the track to GZ. Easy find. Cache found in the open, rehid as best we could. Enjoyed a fantastic and different perspective of Auckland, from a historic Pa site we didn’t know about.

Found easily after having a site visit in the area. GZ too close to ignore. Took a punt and went with no clue. Walked straight there.
TNLNSL TFTC - Nice Views.

Woohoo we found our first cache! Luckily it was a nice easy one which will help us get used to our new GPSr. In our excitement, left our treasures for the cache in the car! They'll keep for next time. Lovely spot, thanks

This cache has the wow factor!! WOW!
What a wonderful track to the cache site, real neat cliffs to observe, historic preserved site. WOW!
This is what excites us best about geocaching. Hidden gems of places.
And the cache - was some distance from GZ, which was rather fortunate as at GZ, there was a larger item matching the hint that was surrounded by gorse (still plucking gorse prickles out of the trousers and socks!)
Hint to others- stick close to the path.
Thanks for bringing us here - wonderful views, better than all the popular tourist spots!

Found this cache within first few minutes of searching. Thank you for this great cache. Well hidden. Thanks for giving us the opportunity to find a new place that we had no idea about.

TechnoKitten and I had been out and about hunting North Shore caches on "Splat" her Suzuki SV650... More suited to city caching than my Xena... BMW R1150RT who was sulking in the garage.
We rode down the motorway to have lunch at Papakura Autobahn and decided to hunt a couple down this part of town before heading home.
Needed to log onto web on TK's trusty PDA to get details of this one. Rode up and parked splat. I must admit I enjoyed the many features of this one.. the Bush.. beautiful big Purere trees.. the cliffs.. the steps.. the Pa site.. Wood pigeons although was nearly "Plopped" on by one.. lol..
Honed in on said tree and said "fetch" to TK whose whiskers were already twitching... Dropped her into trench... and waited.. Hmmm no yeowlll of success..!!
So moved further along with GPS and found another said tree and quickly found cache..!! oops.. sorry TK.. Wink
TK signed log.. I dropped in Little Griz's Compass Coin to continue travels.. Did take pic and will upload when I can.
Left cards.

Hunting with XenaCommander, today XC piloting Splat (see profile for story) TK's Suzuki SV650. XC loving being a hoon on a noisy little sport bike. TK purring loudly on the pillion seat.
WOW... what a place... the cliffs and puriri trees in the bush entrance were nothing short of magnificent. We staggered up the steps up and out into an open area with a magnificent view.
XC lowered TK into a trench but being in a playful mood did not let go as good manners would dictate and dangled his kitten a foot off the ground .... grrrrrrrrrlegggoomepawwwwgrrrrrr.
More good-natured snarling ensued when TK realised she was sniffing around wrong tree in a nasty spiky gorse-filled ditch WITH NO ESCAPE..... the "lift" was already metres away yelling "commander found hee hee"
XC received some rough dual on the operation of his new PDA camera to photograph a very stylish geocoin at GZ.
On our exit we watched a beautiful wood pigeon nibbling on berries above us and dodged the resulting exhaust output
In gold gel pen, out Canadian coin. TFTC

Easy find. Found with my 4 year old daughter Alicia. Loved the path to the cache and the great views. The cache was very exposed so tried to cover with some branches but expect the next time there is any wind there that it will be exposed again.

What an amazing spot and all this just 2km from our flat! This is why I love geocaching, helps to find the hidden gems! Took nothing, left a Canada Pin and a coloured 25 cents Canadian quarter (will be highly collectible one day!). Canoegals, Winnipeg, Canada

Interesting cliff face. We made it up just before the rain started. Saw some stunning views. I can see that the track would get very slippery.

Lived nearby for years, ran past the entrance many times, but never went up the hill. How bad is that! Loved the site and the history. Easy find, watch the gorse!

3.20pm. Found with little difficulty. Enjoyed the view. Interesting bush walk. Disappointed at the mess left presumably from the night before's early Guy Fawkes detonations and party. Removed as much as possible of the rubbish.
- reel of cotton
+ Norfolk Island souvenier teaspoon & Starbucks tin with notelets inside.
Cool M&P.

17-Sep-05
Interesting historical significance. Its well worth reading the noticeboard and reflecting on the fact that were very fortunate not to be living in those times because we certainly wouldn't be out geocaching - and very probably wouldn't be alive. Cliff face had fascinating form.
TNLNSL thanks

Yet another notch in our geo-belt. Fascinating location very interesting rock formations and well chosen Pa site.
Today was a respite from the challenge of LOTR at the weekend. Thank you 'Muddy-One'.

We retrieved the 'Fab Tattoos', no idea where we will put them, (and please don't offer suggestions!!!). In return we deposited the little brown owl all the way from Cobdogla, South Australia

Hadn't been to this part of town before, so made a nice diversion before heading out to the airport. Nice view - the clouds cleared briefly and I was able to see some of the inlets and parts of Southern Auckland. Saw the cache quickly, it was a little harder to get down to, especially with the, ah, wet ground Smile No exchange made. Cheers Gav [528]

Find 6 for today.
Stopped off while heading west from Ponui View.

Easy find and nice to find a cache where the waypoint and GPS says it should be. I froze in an awkward position as some kids went by but otherwise uneventful. i had been here a couple of times previously with a walking group so knew where to head.

Got badly muggled here, went around the wrong side in trying to pinpoint the location. Heard hammering, but put it down to the fact there were several contractors cars nearby. When he popped his head around the fence he was obviously fixing, I got a big fright. From that point on he and another member of the house were constantly watching us, they have a very commanding position. Didn't feel safe approaching where I thought hidden so decided on a tactical retreat. It will have to wait for another day.

02-Apr-05
Very neat site that we would have never visited on our own!

Had a few issues finding it (nothing dramatic mind you). The cache seemed to be about 8m off the coords. This threw us for a while, but thanks to the clue we eventually found it.

Went to work first today ( yes I do work simetimes )
This was to give Navigull time to get accross but it was not to be.
First to find , had to wait for workmen to go away,
Great views.

30-Mar-05
I was working this morning but did see it late morning and thought What's the point Willbuild will have been by now. even if he waits until his lunch hour. What with the price of fuel I have to wait until there are multiple caches to make a trip to the south worth while. Big Grin
