This cahe has had a good run of 13 years now. The tree stump it was originally put in has decomposed to a pile of little bits. I am also unable to maintain this cahe due to other commitments.
Thank you everyone for a great, fun and enjoyable 13 years of caching and hunting Forest Frenzy.
Happy Caching !

I'm bringing a school group up to Clifford Park next week, and wanted to "scout" out the area - what better way to explore somewhere than to hunt some caches! I saw 2 previous DNFs by experienced cachers but I thought Id still have a crack. I searched all over the place but no luck - considering its regular size I would be reasonably sure something has happened to it - maybe the CO could have a look
I was looking for a 4.5 terrain cache so went for this one. With only my phone as GPS it was always going to be a stretch. No joy at GZ. I looked for a good while then admitted defeat. Tftc.
No joy today. Spent a solid 30 mins delving into books and crannies Thanks for the adventure and the walk.
I came to Clifford with our Scouts for Billycart Derby and Cohen Shield. Whilst the scouts were pushing the billycart around, and me and Moray (Scout Leader) were prepping their lunch and dinner, went took a quick stroll to the river and pick this cache up. It was a beautiful sunny day, birds were singing, parrots flying around. Just magic. I found the cache quite quickly, signed the log and left a geocoin behind. TFTC
Found sitting out in plain view while not even searching for a cache. Have concealed.
Quick find, last for the day. Looks like someone got here before me. See photo. TFTC
Here on a scout camp this weekend and, while the group was building and launching a raft nearby, I snuck off to find this. A nice quick find, thank goodness, as I didn’t want to disappear and leave my kids under the groups supervision for too long.
Thanks for placing this cache.

Great day for this scenic riverside stroll. Warm sun, soft breeze, lazy babbling of the river and the friendly buzzing of insects.
On arriving at GZ after the the long walk, I was surprised to see a car parked only 20-30m away! I decided to be extra careful in my search so as to avoid attention. And that's when the hayfever started!
Achoo!!
It's a bit hard to stay under the radar amid a sneezing fit, lol. But the find was made quickly enough and I signed the logbook a little further down the track where there was more privacy.
I returned the cache and was on my way before I drew any attention.
It's a gorgeous location here, and I really enjoyed the riverside stroll.
Thanks, Richie Rich.

What a lovely stroll by the river looking for this one. We parked at the Scout club and with permission went hunting this one down. Thanks so much for being here.
I came downhill from *Clifford Park* and around the bend in the river to this one. The high terrain rating had me wondering what on earth to expect, but all was very straightforward. (I remember thinking it should probably swap terrain ratings with the aforementioned cache! ) Quite a quick find. Thanks Richie Rich!
On such a beautiful day it was time to go geocaching. With a friend, Gibb, we went across to Wonga Park and did some walking. This was one we found. tftc.
We parked at Wittons Reserve and walked to the cache. We found the Clifford Park cache first, since it was the closest to the car park, making this the second find for the day. It took a little while to locate the cache but I did eventually turn around and see something promising. Sure enough, it was the right place. Thanks for placing this cache in this lovely environment.
Caching with 88andy88 learning the ropes slowly we heading from the front parking gate to check in with the ranger at the front house and then off down the trails to a pleasant walk in the drizzle that later become rain.
This area is so peaceful and quiet.

On my way back from finding Bend of Isles II I headed this way via Scout Track, then through Clifford Park. Once I got to GZ I couldn't spot anything that matched the hint, and there were so many places it could be hidden here. By this stage my GPS settled and led me right to it. Beautiful here, thanks for the cache
22/4/17 11:43 am #2353 Been on my list for quite a while and thought today was a good day for a walk and a little adventure so RoxyP and I hit the tracks in the rain and made the great find here. Took a little to find but all the same made the find easily.
Thanks for the adventure.
Dropped a TB and one of my Pathtags.

The last world jamboree was in 1961-62.
Well nothing has changed here.
This place has been left behind.
So old you wold be more likely to see Buck Rodgers and be singing tunes of the Andrew Sisters rather than anything newer.
The leaders had grey hair and dreamed of times from yesteryear.
So sad.
Since these halcyon days men have landed on the moon. But the locals wouldn't or couldn't comprehend that.
They were still looking at images of Bayden Powell hanging next to Coronation pictures of the Queen.
But with dongles around their neck they waved the bananas Goodluck with a Dib Dib Dib.
So if you go here.

Found it! Grabbed with a bunch of fellow Yarra expedition adventurers following our kayak down tje river. This one we accessed from land rather than river. A nice stroll down from the scout camp...TFTC...
We missed this on our last Yarra Expedition, so the crew of us headed back today to pick this one up. That water tap up the hill was liquid gold last time we were here...
Cache an easy find, cheers and thanks!

The main item on the agenda today was Yarra Expedition #6, the next in push in our efforts to follow the course of the Yarra from its mouth at Williamstown into the hinterland, in search of it's source.
Sort of like the search for the source of the Nile really, except we aren't getting any help from the Royal Society or The London Times.
We started off with a token event at the beginning of the stretch of the river we were travelling today, and then launched our kayaks and travelled the section going with the current, and riding the rapids with gay, but cautious, abandon.
After the river section, and then the walk to Adelaide Mountain, we returned to this one which was one we missed from Expedition #5. We missed it because, well, I think because we were completely stuffed and barely functioning when we got near here last time. A few of us actually died, but have been resuscitated since then, and are fully operational again.
Today it was a quick find after getting permission from the caretaker to drive in to a fairly close approach, before walking the short stretch.

After completing the Yarra Expedition P6 a few of us drove over here, followed by an unknown lady in her car, still wearing a PFD and helmet. (odd)
With the permission of the caretakers we left all but two vehicles in the car park and attempted to turn this one into a drive by.
The last time we were in the area we were a mere 150 metres away, but there was no chance any of us had the stamina or drive to look here.
Today was a nice quick find and we exited via the car park after a giving our thanks to the caretaker.
Thanks for the cache Richie Rich. I only have a few left to collect along the Yarra now.

This was only a 300m walk for us as we were picking up the oldest geoson from a cub camp at the very nearby Clifford Park Scout Park. A lovely walk alongside the fast-flowing river.
A great walk in a beautiful are, think i took the wrong track to start with so after a up hill battle i was back on track. Arriving at GZ a quick search found the cache.

Its a beautiful autumn day and felt like a good day for a long walk, especially after the extra hour of sleep thanks to daylight savings ending!! So I headed off with muggle husband and Master D, Who is 5, to do the Bend of Isles II cache which is great. Then we then decided to keep on walking to find this one ... Master D found the cache, signed the log and replaced. Master D did very well walking most of the way and then still had energy to play on some the scout camp equipment. A very enjoyable afternoon with the family, out and about in the sunshine and fresh air .... stuff the housework, this is way better!! Thanks for the cache in this beautiful area!!
It was a sunny afternoon, perfect for a stroll after a cache or two...if you could call going after a Terrain 4.5 cache a stroll. We took the "up and over" route which took us past Clifford Park cache (stopping off to find it of course) and then for a pleasant stroll beside the river for the latter half of the way.
At GZ it didn't take long to find the cache thanks to the update provided by bella at waggy. I signed the log and left a Trackable...hopefully it won't stay here too long.
Thanks Richie Rich for the cache...and keeping it going for over a decade because there is something special about old caches.

After doing the nearby T5's we saw there was a T4.5 nearby with a few other caches in between. We parked near Pirate Pete's Hand and after initially over shooting the hide we turned around to make the find. We completed the signing duties and re hid. TFTC
From there we headed to Clifford Park. We found a trail along the waters edge that looked good until about 100m away when we hit a very large shear rock and the track/scramble was straight up. Here we picked up another trail and with some light bush bashing we where soon at the GZ for a quick find as we spotted the camo from about 10m away. We completed the signing duties and re hid. TFTC
It was then off to Forest Frenzy where we picked up a track that took us to GZ. We were looking for the stump in the hint only to find it has has collapsed. We completed the signing duties and re hid. TFTC
We took a slightly different track on the way back

Nice easy find on a mild morning. Feel terrain rating is a bit high and might unnecessarily discourage cachers from attempting this?
Fantastic walk, and a fantastic day. Very quiet, except for the occasional shouting from the Scout camp. TFTC!
What a stunning walk TFTC

For such an excellent cache (and this is an excellent cache) it attracts surprisingly few visitors. Abby and I left a trackable called Kermit here 2 months ago, and nobody has collected him since then. So today, we returned. Our first trek out here in April was quite the rugged adventure… this time however, we approached from the opposite direction and managed to reach the cache and return to the car in 15 minutes! Thanks Scouts
A cold, rainy day… what better family activity than a little caching in a wet, slippery, mud-filled forest? I noticed this cache a few months ago when SirJ-Oz dropped a trackable there that looked like our kind of travelling buddy. Parked at Wittons Reserve, and it didn't take long to realise why this cache carries a 4.5 terrain rating. We took a sub-optimal route along the river edge, and found ourselves at a "scramble" as described by -nirgal- below. This might have been achievable for us on a dry day, but today? err, no. Backtracked and then found a far more civilised route. Despite rain, mud and much slipping and sliding through the forest, we finally got there! Cache in good nick, took the Wombeaver trackable, and left our friend Kermit to continue his journey. Thanks Richie Rich for such a good cache, that has clearly stood the test of time.
Continued on the track from the Clifford park cache and found this one easily. A steep but great walk.
Find #138. Found with my cub pack (after SirJ-Oz told us about it).
Thanks for the cache Richie Rich

Find #1727. Found @ 15:20.
After dropping youngest geocachelette off at camp, I left The Good Lady Wife having a coffee and chin wag with the Group Leaders while I nipped off to grab this.
Normally I'd be here with the cubs, but a pre-existing activity tomorrow meant that I had to check in this morning, and in Elwood way too early tomorrow.
In the end, I walked along with many of my cubs to the river where the canoeing activities (and going up ceremonies) were about to take place. I parted company with the pack and collected the cache before I returned to collect TGLW.
I forgot to drop off a trackable I meant to drop, so TGLW and I returned to correct that mistake and also to take part in the ceremony.
It would seem that the terrain rating is somewhat different when approaching from the scout park (not that I'm going to complain).
Took nothing, left trackable, signed log and visited some other trackables.
Thanks for the cache Richie Rich.

After navigating up and down hills on bike to get here , the last section was a breeze, thanks for putting a cache here, superb location.
My final find for the day, and one of my favourite cache hunting outings ever. There was only one cache that I wanted to get that I didn't have time for but that's ok, it leaves me plenty of reason to go back.
Thanks for bringing me to this beautiful corner of the earth. Cache is in good condition and surprising well hidden for the sparse coverage that conceals it.

Wonderful area to explore around here. Very peaceful apart from my heavy breathing!! Thanks for getting me out and about.
Found after doing Bend of Isles II. 2 hours all up. And such an awesome day for a beautiful walk. Caching end exercise... Awesome!!!

Find number 1 of 4 today. I parked at the gate and wandered down, through the scout activity area to the cache location, only took about 20 minutes. It's amazing what they consider camping these days, there were showers and toilets everywhere! The cache was found in good condition, even though there was plenty of mud from yesterdays rain. Thanks for the cache Richie Rich.

Made the climb up and over the hill and then along the path next to the river. Was just checking somethining on the phone and then flicked back to the geo app and saw the compass showing 4.7 m away! Looked around and made the find. Glad I swapped back to the app when I did or I would have hiked past the cache. Back up and over the hill after a wrong turn and grabbed a photo of some small shelters either constructed by the local scouts or a sequel to the Blair witch project.
Today was the first Monday night with perfect Spring weather. Rebel Acts and I had a big night of long hikes to clear out areas that had previously been cleared. We picked up a few puzzle caches and had a great time. I wasn't sure if I was tresspassing, but walked in and out quickly. Thanks
What a great day for a walk, not to hot, not to cold. Bit of a drizzle but just right. Did 15kms in about 3 hours of walking picking up a few caches. This was the last for today before heading back to the car. Thanks Richie Rich for a nice cache in a nice spot.

Picking the path along the river's edge from Wittons Reserve made a picturesque start to my hike, but when it petered out, I had to choose between backtracking and a scramble; I hate to backtrack.
Once on the correct route, I paused to pick up another smiley on the way, then continued around the loop to this hide, and a nice easy find.
It was fun reading the original logs from over eight years ago before adding my name to the long list.
Thanks, Richie Rich, for a great reason for a food hike in the spring sunshine. There are certainly far worse ways to spend a Sunday.
Another new D/T combo! And about right for the way I got here.

Came here specifically to tick off the diff/terr rating. We backtracked and took the fence line track after finding the neighboring cache. Found cache and then on the walk back thought we'd follow the river track, and found that led to the other cache anyway, however we stuck to the minor river track after that and thought "why would they take us over the hill for the high terrain when you can walk along the river. Unless there's a cliff that we can't . . . CLIFF!!!"
We earned 5 starts terrain the way we returned! TFTC

After finding another cache in the same park last week (too late in the afternoon to attempt this one in the dark) I had come back and grab this one during the day. Had the area to my self today and enjoyed an easy walk into the gz. What a great area to come and explore, takes me back to my scouting days. Thanks Richie Rich for the cache. TNLN.
Out for an early morning walk to grab a couple of caches.
Pleasant walk through the camp to the south found me at the GZ fairly quickly and then returned around the river via Clifford Park cache.

On a night hunt with Scout Rikki and a small unit of geo-neophytes, the Venturers of 1st Doncaster E.
Cords had us on the park side of the road, but the clue pointed us in the right direction.
Forestry and Power co had flagged the state park for a "Fuel reduction burn" to protects WONGA park residents in a worst case scenario last weekend, but as there was a huge scout camp on then, it has been postponed.
My guess is spring or late winter as they have already begun 'strip mining' the foliage under the power lines.
Thanks Richie Rich for giving us a night hike

Having just picked up our cub scout from his weekend camp we decided to take a tour of Clifford Park as the Chief has camped here when he was younger and his father attended a Jamboree here (a 'mudboree' has been mentioned) in the 50's. How nice there was also a cache to find on the way around. Did notice there is a 'burn notice' up for the state park surrounding the scout camp. So the cache may be in peril in the near future. There was no date on the notice, just it will happen when 'weather is favourable'. TFTC
All the cache! saw a wombat on my way over, which was cool. my first ever solo cache, and i did it without a GPS, just a map and a lot of luck. Left my first geocoin, found my second =D TFTC
Just spent a day teaching scouts how to geocache, so to end it we thought we had better go out and do a real one!
Found this one while camping at Clifford Park with 2nd Prahran Scouts (including HappyCat12). A nice easy, quick find. Thanks for the cache Richie Rick.
Finally changed the container of my 7 year old cache, the log is a little damp still…. hopefully this will fix the water problem. Also I added a couple of trinkets from Japan, a madman sticker and some stickers from Japan.
Enjoy!
Enjoy!

I didn't find the terrain too bad getting to this cache via the Scout Camp road, but the heat sure made up for any perceived lack of difficulties! I only tackled this and the Clifford Park cache today but it was more than enough for me! GPS reception in the forest was patchy so it took a short while to locate the cache. The cache was wet inside (I emptied the small amount of water) ruining some paper swag items, but the cache log was OK in its plastic bag. Left one of my pathtags TFTC
This one has sat on my radar for a few months now as some Project 81 unfinished business, it's one of the closer to home caches on this list, however as its abit out of the way its thus far remained in the planning. Today was an opportune time, and I was soon parked at the park having a yak to the helpful staff who talked me into also trying for the other trad nearby.. Thanks Richie Rich for the hide and the all important TD Star.. Enjoyed the ride here too on the GEO-MTB.. TNLN Dipped GPS Geo Coin..
Found it! But no way is it 4 stars terrain!... TNLN. Contents is quite wet as the container is not particularly water proof... Log is damp but still ok though. TFTC.

Today I am going to explore Warrandite State Park. I have not been there before and I noticed a few caches in the area, so that is an even better reason it go and have a look around.
Arrived back in the car park after White Water Adventure - Bobs Rock and realised I was running out of time. Maybe just enough time for a couple more. What a beautiful little walk along the river, must go a bit further next time I am here.
Thanks again to Tichie Rich for the nice hide. I was welcomed with a rather large fat slug on the top. TNLN

Was on-site nearby with the Scouts for the weekend, and they were happy to go off in search of a geocache or two. Was a little surprised by the terrain rating: I'd put this as a 2.5. The tree cover had us on the wrong side at first but before long I had spotted the hide, and the Scouts -- with their varying degrees of caching experience -- didn't take too long to follow suit. The cache was damp so we dried it out as best we could and removed a couple of items that were beyond recovery. Left Athena's Shera TB. Thanks for the cache.
We followed the arrow, but it took us to the wrong side of the path. Some of us hadn't been geocaching before so we weren't even sure what to look for. Eventually SamCarter realised we should be looking elsewhere and before long most of us had spotted the tell-tale signs of a hiding place. Contents were a bit damp and smelly, so we cleaned it out a bit. TFTC. TNLN.
Found this on the way to the working bee at Clifford Park Scout Camp. Had fun finding the cache and had fun finishing the boat shed.
By the way, the cache is quite wet inside from the recent rains. The log is intact, but will need to be dried out.
Thanks, Richie Rich.

I have been wanting to do this cache for several years and today had the opportunity after completing After the GCA Cache "Bend Of Isles I" GA2111 at S41 23.425 E147 16.234 and its neighbour "Bend Of Isles II".
I have loved the scout park and have shared many fond memories there including my 21st and boot party.
Thanks for bringing us here again.

I have just come from Bend of Isles 11 and thought this one would be challenge. Firstly I parked in the wrong spot, then I never seem to have a good educated guess and of course took the wrong track. Enjoyed being pushed that little bit and amazed how big this scout activity camp is as I came across it again. I am sure I bought one of my girls up here in a former life. Its wonderful to see how well maintained it is and it was being used. Nice easy find and took the far easier well defined path back.
Came across where I should have parked at the lauching pad.

Quite a walk when you follow the directions - I suspect there is an easier way from the Scout Camp. TFTC
Thought we would do the walk, a little nervous about the 4.5 rating, but we had nothing to fear. Although it was wet today, the ground was good to walk on (we walked through the Scout area). TFTC.
Didn't seem like 4.5 for terrain... unless it was about the walk back up the hill?!?

Found whilst at the Clifford Park scout camp for a mega billy cart race with Geoson's patrol and about a thousand other kids. When I got the chance I ventured down to the river to grab this cache, well away from the scouting activity.
Very nice location accessed very easily from the camp.
Thanks Richie Rich

Found @ 2:35pm. While spending the weekend at the nearby scout camp, I brought another leader out caching to show him what it is. Geocaching has fueled great interest within our scout group as we have been discussing ways to teach the scouts all about GPS. While moving towards this cache I stumbled onto another cache which does not appear to have been registered yet. I logged its position and will contact the owner. Being the first to sign a book was novel. KeMs
Parked at the designated carpark on a rather damp day, and headed off along the riverbank. Came across a group of Scouts playing around in the water, and they redirected me back up to the hill (as the riverbank track was a dead end). Got a bit wet traipsing through the scrub, before emerging at the perimeter fence for the Scout camp. The rain started to come down again, so I jogged along to GZ, where the cache was easily found. After signing the log at 3:00pm, I returned to the car in a rather brisk manner, where I could dry off and soak up the warmth provided by the heater.
Retrieved some coinage for redistribution. Thanks! Another find for the Well Rounded Cacher competition.
