Half found, we found one of the split caches (the one in the car park under the tree) but the one up the rock near the cobras mouth we couldnt find, even looking exactly where the photos were showing, we were a team of 10 and looked everywhere and could not find it so it must have been moved

Day 3 of a great camping weekend. Today we drove from the Helena and Aurora Ranges back to Merredin to re-stock. From there it was up to Eaglestone Rock for the night. Thanks for all the cache!

06-Nov-22
Today was day three of our trip to the eastern fringes of the Wheatbelt. We overnighted at the Helena and Aurora Ranges after completing the Great Southern Land series by sazpazza the day before. After catching the sunrise and cooking a bacon breakfast, we made tracks back towards Koolyanobbing, before pumping the tyres and hitting the tarmac to Southern Cross. From there we weaved through to Moorine Rock, Westonia and eventually Merredin, where we stopped for dinner and a resupply before pushing on to Eaglestone Rock near Nungarin for the night.

Thank you to all the COs that place these country caches and particularly to sazpazza for establishing the new geocaching trail which has brought us out here.

After enjoying a ripper sunset from the rock, and having watched the moon rise ahead of a full moon in the coming days, we decided to head here to have a crack at the cache. Had no troubles locating this one. It was in great condition, with the inner container having been replaced and the logbook in a perfect state. We added our names to the logbook and continued on to watch the roos in the nearby wheat crop. Cheers Muka Raiders! Big Grin

Out and about for the weekend and camping overnight here

31-Aug-22
Found on a trip to the west from South Australia., visiting friends and relatives, checking out the sites and finding caches of interest along the way.

The weather has been really good for the last couple of weeks while I have been north and east of Perth. There has been no rain and the winds haven’t been too bad. Makes a welcome change from the previous 3 weeks when I was constantly beating my way into strong winds and it rained almost every night! I hope it holds out for the next week or so as I continue to head east on my way home.

Last night I camped at Eaglestone Rock. Then today I made my way down to Merredin to refuel and resupply for the trip home, before heading west to Coolgardie, then down to Burra Rock to camp for the night. It was the second time I’ve been to Burra Rock on this trip, but this time the plan is to continue on to Cave Hill, then Sunday Soak before rejoining the highway somewhere north of Norseman.

I didn’t have a lot of time to look for caches today. And that wasn’t helped by a tyre deciding to shed its tread at speed on the highway, which added an hour to the journey by the time I’d changed it over and made some makeshift repairs to the damage it caused under the vehicle! As they say, “stuff happens”

It didn’t take me long to find the cache. I was helped by the geotrail left by the previous finders only yesterday. When something suddenly sounded different underfoot, I knew I was there.

Thanks Muka Raiders for the cache.

On a road trip around the wheatbelt areas of Western Australia for a few weeks. We are enjoying the many friendly towns along the way, whether staying in the CP’s or camping out. Thank you so much to the CO’s of every cache for placing them for our enjoyment. They certainly bring you to many spots that you might not stop at otherwise.
Made the climb over the rocks only to realise there was a camp ground around the other side Nice hide here.

Find 3 of 16 on day 5 of our road trip which today finished in a blur of new LGAs, taking us up to 83 finds and about 2700km covered.

Took the more difficult path to this one - just followed our compass on foot from the info board at what we thought was the end of the road, along some sketchy 4WD tracks and when they ran out, up and over the granite. Then we dropped down on to a well made road which we could have driven in on, haha. About to give up on the cache as Mr O misread the description altogether (or the description doesn't apply any more, could be either), but then Mrs O said "what about that" and that was indeed hiding the cache. Good to see such an oldie lives on.

Out for a wheatbelt road trip after the COVID travel restrictions have been lifted. With WAGB20 being cancelled in the pandemic, an invite to join others to celebrate the long weekend was perfect.
First night was camping at Elachbutting Rock with Barnzy12 and Cravo10 where we hit some great finds, beautiful locations and had fun on the dirt tracks weaving our way whilst caching out to Kwolyin Rock for the second night where we met up with a nice crew of fellow geocachers to enjoy sitting around a large campfire sharing stories. I have lost count of the rocks Ive climbed - but my body says many
I then head off on my own caching along the way to Northam where I spent a couple more days hunting through beautiful Toodyay and York and surrounds.
A huge thank you to all the COs for placing and maintaining their caches. The places I have seen and the fun I have had are testament to why I love this game so much. Its been a big 5 days and I am pooped but I have loved every minute!

Out and about in the Central Wheatbelt area this weekend on a mission to grab some missing LGA's. After 1200 odd K's, 43 finds, a few DNF's and two nights under the stars, it was mission accomplished.

Planned to camp here for the night but had to find this cache first. Rummaged around for a bit before re-reading the description and spotted where the container must be. A great place to camp, very peaceful indeed.

Muka Raiders I found your cache at 3:09pm, this was the 21st of 21 finds for me today and brings my total find count to 5896. The cache was in good order and I replaced it as found.

This weekend has been some time in the planning and we were heading up this way to drive the Wheatbelt Way Trail and collect geocaches along the route. We also had GCA caches, Waymarks and Sighters on the radar which should break up the trip nicely. We had no set plans for accommodation and we decided that we would see where we ended up each day to set up camp. This cache was one that we targeted on our mini adventure. Cheers and TFTC.

G’day there Muka Raiders, I was in this area today and found your cache Buried Treasure GCNMNK. I added my name to the log book at 3:15 pm on 28 September 2019. A huge thanks to you for placing this cache here for us (and others) to find!

This cache find brings our total find count to 10975. Woohoo!!

Wheatbelt caching is some of my favourite caching, well anything away from the noise, smell and hustle of the city is great. The wheatbelt has it all, long drives, great scenery, brilliant sights, and interesting stuff at every turn.

A two day trip to the wheatbelt to tackle the ever growing number of green and orange dots on the map and cleanup some archived caches that are still in play has been on the cards for a very long time, just the timing has never been right!

With these new wheatbelt science trail caches being published and the two of us having a rare Saturday off we decided to meet in Northam before heading off for a full days caching.

We started off a bit slow needing to fuel in Northam before heading to kellerberrin and then to the northern wheatbelt to cleanup a few FTF opportunities.

We got to Keller Fella as the locals call it and missed the FTF by around 25 minutes. Probably a record in this neck of the woods. Was really keen to nab a FTF here as my grandfather grew up on a farm just outside of kellerberrin.

From Kellerberrin we headed north towards Mikinbudin, Bencubbin, Koorda, Wyalkatchem, Goomallinh and finally we said our farewells again in Northam.

It was a huge day out today with 18 finds, around 800km on the clock, 5 FTFs and 3 archived caches. We saw some really nice features of the wheatbelt and have made a nice dent in the nearly 100 unfound caches we have still got to collect out this way.

Special thanks to the local and not so local COs for their caches, very much appreciated in these parts of Western Australia!!

Great to find his grabdfathered buried cache here today. Had a few containers keeping it alive from the cracks over the years.

An interesting grandfathered buried cache, I quite like it, shame we cant break ground anymore. Hopefully this one stays intact for a very long time.
We had to sus out the many cars parked at the camp ground but they were all empty so we made the find in peace. I think everyone was busy risking their lives climbing the rock.....wish I had the time to join them,
Thanks Muka Raiders a great cache to be sure.

WanderingAus wandered by, taking a very roundabout way to get to Bruce Rock for the annual Back To The Bush Veterans Reunion, and doing some cache maintenance and cache hunting on the way.

After visiting my two caches in Trayning and placing my new cache WanAus 209 - LKA Nungarin at Nungarin Cemetery this was "sort of" on the way to my two caches in Merredin, so I swung by, threw the waterproofs on, and made an extremely quick and easy GAFF 0 find in light rain. I was concerned about the condition of the cache, and would have done some maintenance on it, but in checking I found that the contents seemed OK despite the cache floating lidless, so with the rain picking up again I left it as it was and jumped back in the geoPajero.

My find No 4491, LCC, T a dust storm photo - awesome, LNSL, dropped my WanderingAus Happy New Year 2008 Gold GC, my WanderingAus GeoMobile TB and a couple of other travellers in for a visit before grabbing them back again.

We were nearly going to leave this one as it stipulated 4WD. But it was a well graded road suitable for any vehicle. When we got to 200mts away we thought we were going to have to climb the rock. With a little bit more study of the map we parked within 15mtrs. Thanks for bringing us out here, we really enjoyed the drive and the wild flowers. SL TNLN TFTC
