Stopped while there was little traffic around and made our way to cache area. After a bit of a search, checked the previous logs and saw that the last 8 were DNF's. Spent a while longer looking, but stopped once other people turned up. All up we probably spent 15-20 minutes looking. Think it's time cache was checked.

We were on our way to Nelson for a new freezer and thought this would be a nice stop. The cache was shown on my GPS on the wrong side of the road, so no find for me. Need to come back to search at the correct side of the road.

Great view! One can see the look out point from road. If it wasnt for the cache I would have drove off without finding the lookout. Thanks!

Thanks for placing the cache. This look out could do with a bit of a prune and clean up.

12-Mar-16
We stopped to find this on our way back from a day trip to Golden Bay. Nice views from a couple of spots at the platform but it looks like they are diminishing with the encroaching growth and might eventually disappear all together unless some pruning takes place.
We made the cache find harder than we needed to, in the end the sun shining on the container led us to it.
Thank you Q moto.

It was time to venture on and over the Hill and with a muggle friend for company we set out to cut a path of yellow. We missed this one on the way to Takaka for reasons unknown. On our way back the car park had us cross the road to the track but we would have finished up there regardless. The views left are stunning. If the vegetation could be trimmed it would be out of this world. I have passed here more times than I remember but never stopped to investigate. Thank you for making me Q moto

Not exactly a park and grab, but was a nice little walk even on a cool day. A couple of muggles having a snack, so I explained geocaching and went about the search. Cache seems to have shrunk over time, but got it fairly quickly. Don't know if I converted any new cachers, but they seemed to have an idea of the game. Thanks for keeping it alive.

Quick find on our way back home from our weekend in Golden Bay. Great views. Thanks for the cache.

Found it with Team FIN [janahola, kapeka, laalaa & temyllyl]

We had fun with caching few weeks here in New Zealand. Lots of geocaches and many sort of them too. We saw awesome places, weather was pretty good all the time and people were friendly and polite. Caches were pretty similar like in our home country. Of course there were some exeptions. Nice and really scenary country!

Greetings from Finland

IN (laalaa, janahola, temyllyl, kapeka) holiday in New Zealand. Marvelous country and nice landscape. This was ferry day (Wellington - Picton).
Greetings from Finland.
Thanks for the cache.

21-Oct-15
Sixth day on our geo-roadtrip in New Zealand, and caching our way towards south. Logged using our group nickname FIN with janahola, laalaa and kapeka. Driving to south and heading to Christchurch Mega event. After ferry ride from North Island we continued our road trip by driving west side of South Island.

We hurry to Wainui beach to collect some sand samples to one 5/5 Earth cache before high tide. Luckily water was still pretty low when getting there. When heading back to Nelson we had time to find some caches.

21-Oct-15
On a geoholiday road tripping to Christchurch MEGA and around beautiful New Zealand. Our four people group (temyllyl, laalaa, kapeka and myself) from Finland used group tag FIN to log the caches.

Today we took a ferry ride to Picton and our road trip continued to Richmond. This was fast find. Nice view. TFTC!

Welcome to MEGA Finland in 5-7 august 2016!

And finally the much talked about trip for the Heaphy Track is underway. A few months ago the work sports committee decided this years adventure training trip would be New Zealand's longest of the Great walks; 78 kms from Collingwood end, emerging at Karamea somewhat older, more tired and wiser? We'll see.
But first. Get to Pohara for overnight accommodation at the top 10 and a St Patrick's night in Takaka for a feed and a few glasses of the cold, black wet stuff.....once a year can't be that bad surely.
In the van on the way here and after zigging, and sagging, G H 6 7 1 0 picked a cache for us to race out and grab en route, this one seemed to fit the bill nicely. After chasing a wild goose down the road, up and over a bluff, we eventually arrived at G Z, yay.
No problems with the find, quickly replaced a s found and on we go down the hill through the ominous looking mist.

After weeks of training our preparation is about to pay dividends and the company I work for is sending 19 of us to spend four days and three nights on the Heaphy Track as part of a Team Building/Leadership/Get to know each other exercise. We start the track on the 18th of March, but as four of us are Geocachers it would be a shame not to make the most of this opportunity to indulge in our obsession. Over today and the next four days Capperz, GH6710, Kiwimykl and Raisinpig will jointly, individually or any other combination search for and log caches during our travels. In most cases the actual logs will be signed by one of us with our individual GC names, but we may just use our initials being C, G, K and R.

This is my first cache of the trip and it was discovered with capperz and GH6710. GH6710 was on GPS duties and took us a round about way to the cache on a drizzly afternoon. The way we approached the cache could not be attempted by a wheelchair as the D/T rating indicates, but why make it easy. The views were not anything to write home about due to the weather conditions, but I imagine they would be fantastic in fine weather.

The cache was dicovered, signed and returned as found.

The third and final day of our Labour weekend trip to Golden Bay. There was quite a bit of rain overnight and some drizzle early morning, but mainly it was fine during the day so the weather didn't really put much of a dampener on our trip (apart from long wet grass and mud at some locations).
We had stopped at the parking area on the way over to Takaka on Saturday, but hadn't looked for the cache as there were people near a memorial on the U bend, and that's where we thought the cache was. Today, we parked by the memorial, then realised that GZ was further away. That's when we found the lookout was actually above the parking area! It was drizzling and the visibility was zilch today, but that meant that no-one was at the lookout so a quick find. TFTC.

I stopped to stretch my legs even though I'd already DNF'd this along with a few others. Didn't expect to find anything but noticed something from the lookout railing, i climbed over and down the rocks. Found a camoed container minus the lid and log. Have replaced the container and log with permission from the CO.

Today we hope to achieve our best month ever for caches. We will probably never beat this as caches where we live are quite rare. We headed over Takaka Hill today hoping to add a few caches to the final count. This was not one of them. Couldn't find the little blighter.

21-Jan-14
Had a thorough search but had no luck. Part way through the search as i backed out of a bush a branch very gently took off my glasses so ended up searching for them instead, not easy when you can't see without them [|)]
