Nice spot but not alot of water down here today.Cool to find such an old hide, cache is choc full of swag but could do with some TLCThanks for the cache
Reperio 14:19With a mid week day off work, I decided to take a drive along the Bridle Track and tick off a few of the First Australian Parliament Geocache series. After returning along the Bridle Track, I slowly made my way towards Bathurst. With every cache searched for found, it couldnt have been a better day for driving and geocaching.Found the container in its hiding spot, but well wedged in and covered in mud. Container and log is serious need of maintenance as per photo.Gratias BionicBeatBoyAs a well spent day brings happy sleep, a well spent life brings happy death - LDV
FurfacesLL no 2 headed up to Bathurst for a weekend geocaching trip with a group of like minded adventurers from Canberra that included Joolay, Kittykatch, barb2e, dty73, Tankengine, Youban, Contesta, Gliss!, fitzy_1965, minniek, TikvaNZ, Domsky and Isopeda. All the puzzles were solved before leaving Canberra. All caches were signed as CBI24 standing for Canberra Invasion of Bathurst in 2024. The weather in Bathurst was cold and clear, not a raindrop in sight. The main target for the weekend was Peel Common. Loved the walk, and we completed it in time to grab a few more around town. Some new logs were put out, and a couple of new containers replaced with the permission of the COs.Thanks for a great weekend CBI24, and thanks to all the COs for the placements and giving us a reason to visit Bathurst.
Found as part of Canberra (Region) Bathurst Invasion 2024 (CBI24) which after the Peel Reserve caches consisted of minniek, Joolay, Kittykatch, GLISS!, FurfacesLL, isopeda, Tankengine, dty73, TikvaNZ, Contesta, Domsky, Youban, Barb2e, Smittengranny, and myself.A plan was hatched, accommodation booked, and caches chosen - it was another Canberra Invasion of Bathurst. It seems a long time ago that I participated in the first Canberra Invasion of Bathurst back in 2009 where I found cache number 1000 ! This time around it was the Peel Reserve that was my priority, and afterwards hopefully to clean out Bathurst again. After a few of us did Parkrun we assembled at the Peel Cemetery, and after a chat with the friendly local farmer we started our trek. Once that great walk was completed we continued on our list. All caches were found without issue unless stated. This one was a nice quick find. Signed the log, replaced the cache as found, then continued along our planned list. Thanks BionicBeatBoy !! A nice Golden Oldie.
fitzy_1965 and I organised a group to do the walk around Peel Common after the puzzles were all solved. Our group included: Contesta, domsky, FurfacesLL, youban, tankengine, dty73, GLISS!, Joolay, kittykatch, tikvaNZ, isopeda, barb2e & smittengranny. After a few of us did parkrun, we all headed out to the common. One of our party used google maps which lead them to the farmers house, he kindly directed them back to the correct gate into the cemetery. He had no problem with us being in there so long as we closed any gates. Once the main part of the common was circumnavigated, we headed over to the other side and collected a few more before heading back into town. The puzzles were great to solve, and all caches were found quickly and easily unless otherwise mentioned.
Second day on a caching holiday along with Brewmaker, Rainbow Spirit, Its Dozzie, Team Canary and Ziggiau. We had planned to start early from Bathurst and make our way to Peel, but instead on focussing on the cache cluster there were became distraced and continued to make our way further north before making a circuit back to home base. On the trip we enountered many animals in our path, Blue toungue lizards, shingleback lizards, roos, bunnies and a lot of sheep!
We finished the loop in time for lunch. afterwards most of us went back out to do another round before heading back to town for a CCE event.
Signed group as BRINTZ
Thanks for the cache.

The second day of geocaching in the wider area of Bathurst with Team Canary, Brewmaker, Noodles21, ziggiau and Rainbow Spirit.
From our base in Bathurst, we spend the second day driving through the wider area to pick up many of the solved puzzle caches, with a few other caches types in between.
Lots of animals were spotted: roos, blue tongue lizards, shingleback lizards, galahs, lots of sheep and turtles.
Logs were signed with the team name BRINTZ.

We gave it a good go but DNF!
I wonder if it is missing
The creek was running beautifully. Lovely spot. Enjoyed the area but unfortunately, did not find the cache. Thanks for bringing us here.

Hatzofff and I are in Bathurst for a few weeks house sitting, and of course have time for lots of caching.
In a roundabout sort of way, today we are going to a fishing spot and back while the weather is perfect.
But, boy were we disappointed. After 45 minutes of fruitless searching we just had to admit defeat, and decided to call it quits until another day. Maybe it's there, maybe it's gone. Time will tell.

Did not realize how old this one was / is. Easy find, but is it on private property?
We found this cache without any trouble. It may be a good fishing spot in the right season but at the moment there are no fish because there is no water. After the log had been duly signed the cache was replaced where it had been found. Thank you for bringing us to this place and thank you for placing this cache for us and others to find.
This was a really nice spot. We walked down the hill towards the river and made an easy find. The river is quite dry at the moment so I don't think the fishing would be good right now. But we were considering options for a camping spot for the night and I suggested this would be an excellent spot if we found nothing else. There's a flat piece of grass below the cache, and we discovered that there was a track down to the location where we could have brought the car had we wanted. An excellent location. Thanks for showing us.

Our road trip this weekend took us on a strange route, going out to Sofala, then skirting around the top edge of Bathurst out to Byng. This was one of the caches we passed on the way.
Not much water flowing, but we liked the spot.
Thanks

Travelled out yesterday to check on the creek, there was a bit of a flow going. I left a new pen as the one in the cache had died.
[font=Comic Sans MS]Hi there BionicBeatBoy. We found your cache "good fishin spot!" at 12:38:00 PM today. This cache makes our find count 11953.
[Blue]
We started off at a random cache and then navigated towards Hill End. We ended up logging 9 and DNF'd 1.
After encountering a road closure on the Bridal Track we retraced our route and attempted some different caches on our way back to Bathurst.
[Green]Thanks for placing a large cache here. It is really sad to note that the trend of placing small caches (without swaps) is increasing. While nanos and eclipse tins sometimes have their place in an urban environment these, along with 200ml Sistemas, seem to be the norm these days even out in more remote areas. It made us feel really glad to find a large, kid friendly cache here.[/Green]
[/Blue]
Coordinate Accuracy: We found the cache around 2m from where the GPS said we should be looking.
Cache Condition: The container and log book are in good shape.
Took: Nothing.
Left: Smiley Badge.
Thanks for the hunt,
Regards
Ian & Penny.[font=Verdana]

The creek is flowing, the flies are pests today- but a good spot - TFTC / TFTH / SL
Good fishing spot in deed. Found with Justjessie who also found a Frill neck Lizzard!
Find was easy, but I nearly stood on something that scared the %$#@! out of me. See picture..
A fun find. Grandma and Poppa's first cache- came along for the adventure! Took a gorilla and an elephant and left a travelling coin and a cat detective

I think we came at this from the wrong direction. The GPS had us looking in a different area but once we widened the search the cache was found. Perhaps the X is visible if you come the right way. TFTC
a challenging serch in a beautiful spot, did not see the fish jumping but the river looked very healthy.
Nice spot well worth the short detour from tar. Sorry, read the cache description only back at home when logging the find - but think there was plenty of water. Thanks for the hide.
After we did a spot of exploring along the creek we drove back to gz and quickly at the loot in hand. TFTC
Good one, took some looking and couldnt find the X.. but found it just the same
water was flowing...

found with debanco, wombatjo and her geoteen. SL left peter pan figure and took green frog because i love collecting animals!
Indeed, nice fishin hole! And plenty of water this time, after the recent rains. The cache is still high and dry. I can't believe that it's been over a year since the last cache... It's such nice country-side.
Nice wee stream, quick dash down to find the cache and back up to the road. Cheers Gav [4220]
A nice spot despite the farmland encroaching down to the creek. Did I say creek? I saw one small pool and that was ir, despite the recent rain.
A nice easy find while passing through. Not much water flowing today, infact it is only almost empyt pools despite the fact the weather is so bleak.
Thanks for the cache.

A pleasant diversion today to who knows where
Parking close to GZ, I had a short stroll down to the river.
Looks like a good fishin' spot at the moment. The river is flowing quite nicely, thank you !
The cache was found safe and well behind the door [^]

Found it ! No muggles today, only sheep. The water holes are more than connected, the river is flowing nicely. Being a 4wd nut I couldn't fight the need to drive down the little track and do the river crossing. with that little urge out of my system I packed the kids back in the car and off we went to find more caches. I love this game. SL, made a swap, TFTC

I used to go fishing here when i was kid..and the river was always flowing strong. Pretty sad state isnt it!

Easy find cache in good order only two small water holes need rain bad to be able to fish again. Thanks heaps
Easy find. Must say that there wasn't much flowin goin on. Been here previously and let the boys out for a swim during the summer. Beautiful spot when there is water.
One very dead sheep not far from the cace was still on the nose, so this was a run in & out. Water was flowing and the waterholes all full thanks to the recent rain.
I didnt go looking for fish due to the smell

First one for the day on our Bridle track run to cache and fish. Took stcky note pad left purple elephant and frog
Lovely spot, not a redneck in sight. Sat by the river and had a nice picnic. Thanks
With a big adventure filled day ahead as we were doing the Bridle Track to Hill End with the Scenic Routers Team and friends we still decided to detour to this one. The water holes had definitely joined up and the river was flowing very well. The cache was a little hard to find as it had additional leaf matter covering it from the recent storm weather we suspect. Took scissors and left Post It Notes. Thanks Team Booya probably is a good time to go fishing.
Found it on the Bidgee Caching Bathurst Tour.
First one for the afternoon on the way out of town to a certain track full of caches.
TN L: cow & toy car
Thanks TBWC
