Hi radarsparkieThis geocache was brought to my attention as being in need of an owner maintenance visit and after my previous reviewer note, there has been no owner response. The cache owner needs to check on this cache ASAP and either replace it or archive it, after picking up any geo-litter. See the [maintenance section of the Geocache Listing Requirements/Guidelines](http://www.geocaching.com/about/guidelines.aspx#listingmaintenance).I've added this cache to my watchlist, and I will check back in four weeks to be sure that the maintenance has been done. In the meantime, I have temporarily disabled this listing. When the maintenance is completed, the owner can enable the listing by clicking on the link below the cache name to return it to active status.Whatever your intentions, please **post a note** here on the cache page (not email) to let us know that you are still active and maintaining the cache. If a month passes without seeing a response, then I'll assume that this listing should be archived. Please note, that if a cache is archived due to lack of owner maintenance, the cache is unable to be unarchived.RegardsTheCoddiwompler

On a road trip with Supernannny and Net61 to Nelson exploring this part of the country. No luck here despite 3 of us looking
Found this one while I was doing the nearby AdLab.
Cheers for the cache, radarsparkie.
Cheers for the cache, radarsparkie.
PS. It would be great if you fixed up this cache and checked on your multi in this cemetery.
We were in the area to visit the memorial and do sone research on the Maungatapu Murders and saw this cache was only a couple of metres away. Very convenient.
The container was soon located and the logbook signed.

Don't mind the hint, it's been kindly rehidden by another cacher. Use your regular geosenses and you will find it, as I did. Tftc!
(# 7563) Day 1 of the short trip to Nelson and the West Coast. After a few dramas we ended up being on the ferry time we originally booked. So it was great driving on to the ferry. This afternoon we traveled from Picton to Nelson grabbing a few caches on the way. A quickish find as not per the hint but no problem as we looked at prior logs. Thanks for bringing me here.
Day 1 of our next adventure to the wildfoods festival, caching all the way of course. Tonight Picton to Nelson. Caching with Mr McGoo and Justlooking00. With massive ferry cancellations, it's already been a day or two of on,off,on,off,on,off, standby,on - whew! So, very glad to be here. Really keen on old ones, so loved coming here, thank you. Not as per hint but prior logs helped us out. TFTC.
Unfortunately I have not found it either. Not even the papaer that previous log said about.
Sounds like this cache isn't there anymore/is ruined but beautiful place to visit
Found when brought here for other reasons.
The film container is completely broken, no magnet and logs beyond use.
I put in a new log and plastic bag , good place to visit, found when doing an Adlab stage in the area.
Thanks for placing it here.

Searched and searched in what i thought were all the possible places but could not find the cache today. At least I got the nearby adventure lab
Easy find but cache is in need of some TLC. Log is mush and container smashed. TFTC!
TFTC. A beautiful Nelson day - perfect for a wander and a cache. Very interesting window of history.
Cache in 2 pieces. Log too soggy to sign. I put both pieces of the container together.
A fav point for location.

It’s our last night before heading back to Auckland tomorrow so Mr NZT headed out after dinner to get in some night caching. Worked our way around the outside perimeter and at the very end of encompassing the structure we found it. TFTC!
It’s our last night before heading back to Auckland tomorrow so Mr NZTravellers and I decided to head out after dinner to finish some of the further north adventure labs that we had started so tomorrow we could focus on local and closer to the airport ones.
I started from one spot and Mr NZT started going the other way. The systematic approach came up with the goods in Mr NZTs hands…yay
Thanks for the cache!

This find took longer than it should have... Had the place to ourselves but GPS kept jumping around. Was obvious pretty quickly the container wasn't attached where I thought it should be. Looked in other places but no luck. Then made one last effort at original area. The hiding place was a bit awkward to reach but seemed like a good spot for it given the container has a big hole.
Thank you for this cache, radarsparkie.
I, too, came here for the AL and was pleased to have this cache as a marker- the trails are well marked on the GC app cf the AL map, so it was a quick trot. Nobody around on this peaceful weekday.

Was on a nice walk and decided to see if there was any caches. Nice easy find, although we forgot a pen.
My GPSr had me at another location, but then it settled down a bit and I moved to the right place. Found the cache in the last possible place. TFTC.
I decided to find this cache this morning as I discovered last night that I needed the published date for my ‘Finds by hidden month’ stats.
Many thanks for placing the cache here nearly 16 years ago. A lovely place to visit on a sunny day - so much history. We met one of the volunteers the other day who has been cleaning up/tidying up the cemetery in the last 15 months or so. They have done a great job, especially helping families replace lost headstones.

Nosynel, Graciesgpsfun, Ethness and I are caching the top of the south. Today we are hanging around Richmond. And also cometing a few bits and pieces. Quite nice to score a trad at an adventure lab waypoint. Thanks for the hide.
Part 1, Day 5. Four of us are in Nelson, graciesgpsfun, Ethness, Jude_E and me. Jude_E and I went off geocaching for the day.
Thanks for creating this hide. It was our last find. Today was a tricky day as C:geo had crashed.
======== NZ Mega 2021 ========
Planning for the NZ Mega 2021 event is well underway. It will be held in Auckland over Labour Weekend, October 2021 solving this one.

Had already decided on a trip this cemetery to visit my fathers tombstone. Spotted a very damaged container at this cache site lying in the leaf litter. Clearly was once painted green it mostly white now. Log dry inside plastic bag. I have covered with some leaves in sane location
Quick find here, but the container I found had a slip in it with no signatures on it. It did have the geocaching logo though. Maybe there are two? TFTC radarsparkie.
This is the cut and paste general info bit.
I took the day off work as RG1972 and I are heading off tomorrow to Tauranga to catch up with some friends on a long weekend. So I decided to have a casual caching day from Blenheim to Nelson, enjoying the nice weather and sweeping my way through from the Cable Bay area, through the Glen and eventually out to Brightwater. By about 3pm I had had enough, so quit after my second Tahunanui DNF. Good day though, found some spots, reserves and tracks I have not visited before, so thanks all COs.

Day 8 of my 2020 NZE (New Zealand Experience).
(My apologies for the delayed logging but I'm in catch-up mode)
Seeing as I can't be in America right now, I'm touring around the South Island instead. During my time here I am aiming to find as many of the TMGT caches as I can (preferably all 41) and also as many Virtuals, Earthcaches and Letterbox Hybrids as possible, plus any Trads or others that will fill a hole in my D/T grid, my Jasmer grid, or else the last 3 remaining Hidden Dates on that grid.
Today was International Geocaching Day 2020, and I had just attended a Community Celebration Event here in Nelson for it. So afterwards I thought I'd try to look for a few selected caches before hitting the road for my drive over to Picton today.
I wanted to find this one to help me fill a gap in my Jasmer Grid. It took a while but finally found it. There were surprisingly few people there today so I was able to do the usual caching administration without worrying about being watched before replacing everything as found.
Thanks for placing this cache.

This was our last cache up here to get so we did a drive through today. Another first here not my normal spot for an afternoon drive destination. Autumn has been and gone but we made our way through the leaves to retrieve the cache. All in good order tftc.
Out with Missnboys grabbing a few more in the area. We had been to do a few in this cemetery before but somehow missed this one. Drove around towards GZ and parked up. A quick ish find after delving in the autumn leaves. TFTC
Found it! Doesn’t seem to have a log anymore but enjoyed the walk through the cemetery and all the bird song
What a gruelty.

It is not anymore a film container.
! I cleaned the box and plastic bag after use
with disinfectant !

A fantastic cemetery this with a lot of history. This spot was no exception. Quickly able to grab the cache. Thanks for the cache.
Quick find. Wasn't expecting this since the recent upgrade. Awesome cache too. TFTC
Had my workmate take a new geocacher out so i could not go . So we try live video calling and help them find the geocaches worked a treat I found two of them as they used the phone to show me around and I helped with what to look for and directions
After a long walk up the hill we finally found it after the second out second chance
Parked at sea level and came up thru the cemetery. No-one around except the odd dog walker. TFTC
Had to come into town today for a spot of baby sitting so decided to get a cache in the vicinity. Well, it wasn't really that close, but close enough. Decided I needed the walk as it was a nice day, so left the car at the roadside carpark and walked up. Checked out a few headstones on the way looking for my great-grandfather but didn't find him. Got to GZ and a short search soon put the cache in hand. Log signed and returned as found. tftc
While SJT_NZ were progressing a nearby multi he got distracted with a traditional on the gps screen, a pretty narrow approach in the car and at one point there was no way to open the doors to get out to the gz but a few more curves and found a spot to park. A quick wander up to the gz and search. With autumn there's been quite a lot of droop so after the read of previous logs realised there were some issues with the previous container. Replaced cache, now 1/3 of size of film cannister and a better magnet so hopefully will stay in place. More Pontius and Dobson that Battle& Co. Great to finally get up to this memorial, SJT_NZ and I have walked the Maungatapu several times, I grew up with the stories as my great grandfather was one of the many who gave evidence at the trial and thankfully survived the trek on the fateful day. Having read and reread the story I've always had a soft spot for Dobson a well known surveying family and young in his career but clearly the whole family would have been geocachers in the day and thanks to them we have a lot of the trails we enjoy. Thanks radarsparkie for the cache
Tregearp and I were gathering info for one of the nearby multis, and as we came past an intersection I saw the icon of a traditional on the GPS screen. A quick diversion was agreed and off we set - with the road getting narrower and narrower. It almost got to the point that we'd need to pull the mirrors in to avoid scaping the paint off - which clearly is what has happened to some with the scrapes and scratches in the concrete walls. With about a cm each side the road widened again and we were soon at the GZ. After failing to find the cache even with the hint we read the previous logs which identified it as missing. Luckily we had our packs with us and soon had a replacement sorted. Now a plastic screw cylinder about 2.5cm in diameter but only about 1cm in height with a disc magnet. Placed according to the COs description and hint. We particularly liked the cache and back story as Tregearp has a connection to part of the history. Thanks radarsparkie for the cache.
This was a surprise opportunity to find this cache and timely as I was considering heading over to Maungatapu to find another cache at the murder site this one commemorates. The container and log needs replacing so maybe the next finder could help out. Thanks radarsparkie.
Tough find today with eltee291, crman1 and coastal martinis. Looked for close to ten minutes before finally making the find. Good thing no one was around as we were all down on our hands and knees, moving leaves and such. Certainly not magnetic anymore. The log was drenched so we signed a new piece of paper and added that and replaced as found. Visiting from Canada. Thanks for the cache!
This was definitely a tough one to find today with hingis20, crman1, and coastalmartinis. Sure glad there wasn't anyone to see us in action - at least I don't think anyone saw us. Sure was happy when hingis20 put his hands on it and yelled "Got it!". On our way to Nelson for a day of sightseeing and caching. Visiting NZ from Victoria, BC, Canada. TFTC
What an awesome cemetery!!! Took a little bit to find the cache and the container was broken. We had no replacement with us so we left it as we found it. Tftc
Over the hill in Nelson doing a spot of shopping... and then a bit of caching to end the day.
Managed to drive pretty close to the cache and wander back... Found GZ ok - but then struggled a bit locating cache - kept circling the area and going back to the same spot. Tons of leafage so my hands were getting filthy. Finally located the cache - and yes broken and log too wet to write on. Will definitely need replacing.

We came to this area to do a nearby multi, so thought we would get this one as well while we were here, The container is broken but the log is still dry at this stage tftc
I am working on getting my calendar up to three, which means two caches each today and Sunday. So I decide to go to Nelson as I need all the local Blenheim caches for midweek finds. And then Taybeedragon rings up and invites me to dinner. No, I'm going to Nelson for the weekend, staying there. So she turn up at my door and says "I'm coming!" So off to her place, collect Zara Bus and off we go.
Parked here and wandered all over the cemetery and down to Miyazu, a nice day for a long walk.
Loved the monument to the murders at Maungatapu (the monument spells Maungatapu incorrectly), especially its closing sentiment. Cache container is badly damaged, but despite that water can get it easily now, it hasn't and the log was dry.

Off on another magical mystery tour with The Seagnoid and Zara for the weekend. Seagnoid found it. Thanks so much for bringing me here - especially after realising the monument was for the Maungatapu Murders. This was especially poignant as I lived at Pelorus at the start of the Maungatapu Rd so the story was well known to me. Where to from here?
Quick find - though not before being stung by a nasty little wasp as we were rummaging around. Beware!
As noted before its no longer magnetic, read previous logs for better location, also not WASPS!!!
Found it where the Cretan runners said it would be. Bottom of the cache was cracked, contents were ok though.
We found this cache eventually in a place it shouldn't be. We tucked it back behind a block which holds up the bottom rail. Hope that was ok radarsparkie. TFTC.
Took a bit of hunting but my geocaching mate secured it after a bit of digging around! No pencil.
Took us a while....no pencil though so couldn't log....also the cache is no longer magnetic so not exactly where expected
Another weekend is already here, but sadly not a 3-day special like the last 2 weekends have been. Sun is shining and a bit of a breeze around and mid to late 20s predicted, nice on Marlborough/Nelson. Only one thing for it with mrs capperz wanting some shopping, and nightowl19 at the A&P show, caching over the hill. Having Tally the geodog means I must build my caching plans around leaving the car and doing some mini-walks but no problem wit my eye cast over Brightwater way and some of those riverside walks an strolls in the gun. A nice early start, on the road at about 8 this morning so good intentions to get back for mid-afternoon.
Last of the day before going back over the hill. Parked by the main building and walked up the steep hills so get to G Z. Good coordinates and spotted the container quickly. No longer magnetic and a hole in the bottom, yeta log book nice and dry

It was very wet so dried it out and put some new paper in it, an interesting place to walk around. TFTC.
Great Spot! Took me two times to try and find it! Awesome Idea to hide it there.
Nice place, thanks for the cach. Container cracked at the bottom, log still dry. Pencil snapped in half. You need to bring your own pen.
