There is a caching event today, well why not make a full caching day out of it with a bit of shopping included. I started the day by telling work that I wasn’t available at all and then I decided on where I wanted to cache. Well seeing how I have found the caches North, South and Central areas around ‘The Rock’, I decided on heading East this time and finding some of the historic caches around Livingstone National Park. TB visit on all found caches today. I would like to thank all CO’s for the caches I found and for the fun I had while finding them.
Today’s totals:
17 Finds (1 Event, 14 GC and 2 GCA)
1 DNF
My first of 3 finds in Livingstone. TFTC

Three things can ruin any geocache. This is true no matter what the age of the cache and whether a geocache is a creative hide, a geocache that delivers hikers deep into the untamed wilderness, or fantastical Puzzle Cache with a big surprise twist.
If the geocache log or contents are in a mess; if the container is cracked and contains water and log is wet or soaked or if geocachers don't know it's a geocache because it's not marked/identified, it's what some people call a #fail.
To avoid the #fail, CO's need to make sure their geocache is D2W compliant. It should be:
- Durable
- Water-tight
- Well-marked
This cache is carrying one or more logs which suggest some attention by the cache owner is needed in this regard.
The guidelines advise that the CO should make regular visits to check on the cache as well as promptly address any logs that indicate that the cache requires some attention. If you can not attend to the issue promptly, then you need to Disable the cache - I have disabled it this time.
Please respond to this situation (or indicated your intentions including a date) by **{RESPONSE DATE - 2W if NM log or 4W if no NM}**, otherwise, it will be necessary to withdraw the cache from the Active listing.
**And don't forget,** once you have addressed the issue, post both an "Owner Maintenance" log, see here; [Removing the Needs Maintenance Icon](http://support.groundspeak.com/index.php?pg=kb.page&id=404) and an "Enable Listing" log, see here; [Temporarily Disable and Enable ](https://support.groundspeak.com/index.php?pg=kb.page&id=235 ) to get your cache up and running again.

David Livingstone (1813-73) was a Scottish missionary and medical doctor who explored much of the interior of Africa. In a remarkable journey in 1853-56, he became the first European to cross the African continent. Starting on the Zambezi River, he traveled north and west across Angola to reach the Atlantic at Luanda.
In March of 1871, journalist Henry Morton Stanley begins his famous search through Africa for the missing British explorer Dr. David Livingstone. He found Livingstone in the town of Ujiji on the shores of Lake Tanganyika on 10 November 1871, greeting him with the now famous words "Dr Livingstone, I presume?"
Whilst in the area today with [@AngusnmumyAdventures](http://coord.info/PRRD6GG) called in to check out this one to see what was happening with it. It was an easy find, however was in very poor condition. The logbook was ok but the container was very brittle and falling apart in my hand as i retrieved it. We signed the log, replaced it and covered it to proted it a little better.
Thanks for this cache Team Horizon, Lil Donna

4938. Found with Relish64. A quick stop over on our way to visit folks out near Narrandera. A bit of a detour from our normal route and a nice quick and easy find. The container is a little worse for wear, but the contents seem to be surviving the rather wet winter.
Thanks for the cache and the fun.

We have left Our caravan at Yerong Creek & taken a drive out along the country roads searching for caches.
An interesting drive which also took us 4x4 in the forest. Cache was quickly found.
I think the drive into the cache could be taken into consideration when placing a terrain difficulty.
Thanks Team Horizons

3rd of the series found – another enjoyable drive to this 1–a BIG thanks for the series TFTC / TFTH / SL
#467 was found on day 156 that saw 4 more caches added to the list of found caches and finished off another of the pages of caches close to home.
This was the 3 for the day and the second of 3 that saw me do more walking than I really wanted to do today. However to be able to get the 3 in this area was an achievement and it is rewarding to have them out of the way. Having only a 2WD vehicle with a ton of gear in the back it is a little hard to climb some of the hills on these tracks around here go to within 1.6Klm of the first cache walking was the only option so off I went. After achieving the first cache it was of to this one about 1.2 Klm from the first it was an easy stroll and soon arrived at GZ. The find was easy and then it was time to return to the vehicle.
Thanks for the cache Team Horizons.

Failed search on this one but mainly because right at GZ was a very dead critter and we had just had lunch so search was quite short. Will come back in a couple of months when things improve. Loved the area and bush walkers are planning to return also.
Well if the dead roo was there in May that will explain it's condition today. I had to send away the kids and wife and struggle with this one alone. Found easily enough though and is a nice spot without the roo and flies.
1/13 Found @ 11:30 am by geoson after a night of camping. The trail was closed so we drove to the end & walked the last 250m or so. Saw a medium sized slithery on the track making both geoparents scream. Then geodad tore shirt & scratched his back. First of a number of injuries for the day. TNLN TFTC
Found with heaps of gun fire in the back ground from the firing range.

Tftc geo territory got the job done thanks to hinklenator road a lot better going in this time
TFTC, now it is back in action decided to go for a drive after work and collect this one with Hinco
Container had all but disappeared as flooding in the area was apparent. Knowing that the owners of this cache are no longer active we decided to keep this one going by placing a new 400ml sistema container (no cammo as we weren't packing paint). Sorry - no writing implement in the cache, please bring your own.
Took: Nothing
Left: 400ml sistema container, laminated stash note, log book, ninja surfer man, egyptian scarab and horse.

After finding another cache in this beautiful park we headed onto this one on a day out with Skullracing.
Road to the cache was partly closed due to a bit of it washed away with our many recent downpours......
A short walk to GZ & with efforts of the skullracing maintenance crew, the cache is back to be found.
Many thanks for showing us another nice spot.

Great area, we all thoroughly enjoyed out trip through livingstone.
Thanks
Great area, we all thoroughly enjoyed out trip through livingstone.
Thanks
I'm afraid to say this one may have been washed away in the recent rains. I scoured the area along with TeamGeoPlesk and Last of the Time Lords and all we could find was a faded highlighter in amongst the rubble that had been washed down the creek in the recent floods. Ah well, we certainly enjoyed getting to GZ in the 4WD!
Spent over half an hour looking for this one, think it might have been muggled as it has such a low difficulty
Also new fence across creek which may have contributed to not finding. This was a hard cache to get to in a 2 wheel drive car

With the lid smashed on this cache, we decided to replace the container. Fun drive! TFTH

Slight dramas getting to this one. Feathertop and I assessed the right tracks in here although we had a slight bit of fun in trying the Ridge Track. Note: that one is for serious 4WD only! After very quickly realising this the rest was easy although Feathertop's suggestion that we try to go out along the Ridge track was ignored! thanks for the fun Team Horizons. And all your caches over the past few days.
This was the last of the Livingstone caches attempted today with time no longer on our side.
Easy enough to get to the small cache but we decided to retrace our steps back out rather than risk a long convoluted circuit.
Thanks for showing us this park Team Horizons.

The geo-commodore struggled a bit on the steep inclines and loose gravel but we got to this one with no serious dramas. The cache was a quick find in a very pleasant location. After the signing we rested with morning tea supplies.Put in highlighters. Thanks to Team Horizons.
Found at 0750. Continued the walk on from 'Dr. Livingstone. Who's He', to round out an enjoyable 7km walk throughout Livingstone National Park. A nice change in scenery from dry bushland to shades of green. The walk back to the car took a little longer than expected, but all up it took approximately 9kms to log all three caches. Glad this one is off the list.

There is no shortage of tracks in this place. Lots to see and do and a farm where the exit should be, oh well, I'll try this track then... Thanks.

Here's another fine cache hunt you've gotten me into Stanley [:o)]
Nice spot at the edge of the forest.
Lots and lots of sheeps and lambs on the other side of the fence this morning making a racket [:o]
Now how do I get out of here ?
Certainly not across the sheep paddock.
Just keep following the track seemed a better idea than backtracking. It worked nicely and I ended up back where I started this morning after a k' and a half
Thanks for the fun series of caches and for showing me around a great bit of the Wagga landscape [^]

More like a could not get to it! We tried to come in off Obriens Creek Rd and came to a farm house decided to back off.
We found ourselves on a 4wd track from another nearby cache. Found the cache quite quickly. TNLN. Thanks Team Horizons
Find 7/13 today
Very easy this one, almost too easy. Glad to see the bush coming to an end after a couple of hours driving around it. Time to get on the black stuff and find a few more.

Cheers.

Ah, these three LIvingstone caches, very interesting. Got the 2WD car in a little bit, then decided that was far enough.
Out with the Mountain Bike, Coooeeeeee.
Off I went riding along through the forest, a bit rough at times, but a great ride.
Rode all the way to this cache, Thanks Team Horizons for a real adventure in the forest, Rode ALL THE WAY, to all 3 caches Coooeeeeeeee.

It took quite a while to work my way in to GZ. Nothing too difficult, just slow and bumpy. Once at GZ, the cache was quickly located. No swap was made. Thanks for bringing me here, and for the cache.
It is great when getting to the cache is as much fun as finding it and this one was just that. We admired the view while filling in the paperwor after a nice easy find.

Found by Mary & David at 1645. Finally found it after consultation with High Places and Team Horizons. Turned out that we'd looked at the right place very early in our search, but, since the previous find, some local inhabitants had moved in and hidden the cache totally in their own unique way with perfect camo. Once we'd worked out the nature of the problem, some extra work was needed before the cache could be recovered. The container and contents have survived unscathed, but are likely to suffer the same fate again in this particular location. Took pink lanyard, left purple necklace. Our thanks to everyone concerned for their advice.
Last for the day. Found this one with some friends on our Wagga Wagga weekend. Great cache but i got the job of putting my arm in all sorts of scary places.

And a very different spot to find something hidden.
Mr Q retrieved it for the rest of us.

FTF woohoo. Did this one on the way home. Gets dark quick now. Needed a torch to search around gz. Cache is certainly easier to put back then to get out .
