Hi Mcroni
This geocache was brought to my attention as being in need of an owner maintenance visit and after my previous reviewer note, there has been no owner response. The cache owner needs to check on this cache ASAP and either replace it or archive it, after picking up any geo-litter. See the [maintenance section of the Geocache Listing Requirements/Guidelines](http://www.geocaching.com/about/guidelines.aspx#listingmaintenance).
I've added this cache to my watchlist, and I will check back in four weeks to be sure that the maintenance has been done. In the meantime, I have temporarily disabled this listing. When the maintenance is completed, the owner can enable the listing by clicking on the link below the cache name to return it to active status.
Whatever your intentions, please **post a note** here on the cache page (not email) to let us know that you are still active and maintaining the cache. If a month passes without seeing a response, then I'll assume that this listing should be archived.
Please note, that if a cache is archived due to lack of owner maintenance, the cache is unable to be unarchived.

Sadly did not find today, there was a lot of bramble and even after a good hunt stopped searching as ferns were to frosty and a hard search would have damaged them, plenty of places cache could be so will add to list to try again some other time
lots and lots of ferns at gz. and BlackBerry and wasps. had a reasonable search but no cache for is today. nice waterfall walk.
Hunted around in the ferns for a while, sent the niece and nephew in too, but alas, not this time. A lovely walk nonetheless, thanks for bringing us here
This elusive one took a while to track down. Finally got him tagged. cheers. Now on to the waterfall. Another lovely place to visit. Fav from me..
Sunday 8 November. Left Zara resting at Niagara. Toby and I are off exploring again. Today its the Niagara - Fortrose loop, then off to Florence Hill to end the day. Lots of unpaved roads mostly in great condition just to keep Toby entertained. So lets go!!
Toby, Zara and I are on a 3 week geo adventure of Cromwell, Southland, Catlins, Balclutha with a day in Dunedin and quick stop in Timaru. With Lenny, my trusty navigator and TBD my companion/mascot. we managed to visit lots of green boxes, now happy faces with the odd sad one. Did some LABs , earth caches, virtuals and wherigos, all chucked into the mix to rack up 500 odd caches. Lots of kilometers, lots of exploring and lots of fun. Thanks to all COs for our wonderful experience.

Had a fairly good look around. Unfortunately there is too much bramble to get down below. So on this occasion we will mark it as a DNF. The waterfall is definitely worth walking in to.
A popular place. The carpark was full but only a couple of people were coming and going on the track. They must all be at the waterfalls. I've seen them before so I'm not missing much. My turn to grab the regular sized box and after gaining the GZ, looked in a couple of hint places. The wet one was drawn from the hide, and while the goods and logbook were dry, the container and seals only needed a wipe out and clean. Put back together and grabbed the pretty fish TB to move up the road away from the troll. Returned the box to hide and had to wait out muggles who stopped to read the plaque before returning. Never noticed the sign to the hut before. Umm not up for a 4hr walk today. TFTC
Think we found where it should of been by the by the indentation of flattened grass under fern.
Accurate coordinates helped here. Alot of ferns and bramble with bees everywhere. During rain we got wet in the long grass and ferns but gladly found after 2minutes. Now to the falls. Thanks for the cache!
This cache was not an easy find, since my GPS decided to do some random jumping around. However, after a few minutes with some pauses to let muggles pass, I finally found the container. Afterwards, we continued on to the fantastic McLeans waterfalls. TFTC!
Unfortunately no luck on this one - too many bumble bees around in the location to dig too deep.
But we enjoyed the waterfalls - I think the best in the Catlins.

Gut versteckte Dose und gut verpackt. Der letzte Log war am 16/12/19. Für diese stark frequentierte Route ist das eine lange Pause. Vielleicht ist er zu gut versteckt. 63 hat ihn gefunden. Dfdc
Attempted this one twice - on my way to the fall - searched about 10 minutes - nothing!
And it my changed may perspective I‘ve been searching after coming back as well - nothing
Round the world trip Made it to New Zealand and will be traveling all around the Islands. After spending two days in and around Invercargill, I am heading to Dunedin today.
Thanks for bringing up this cache!
Vielen Dank fürs legen und pflegen und beste Grüße aus Leipzig!
Thanks for hiding and many greetings from Leipzig/Germany!

On the way to Kaka Point we stopped here and visited the awesome falls. The coordinations are very helpful to find the cache, Thanks!
A lot of places to look at and a GPS jumping around, so unfortunatelly this was not found.
Sadly, not found. Had look round the spot but dd stepped in human number two by ferns we stopped searching... Boo:-(
On the way to the McLean falls I also tried to find this cache. That proved quite difficult as there were many hiding options and the GPS directed me a bit in a different direction. But in the end, just before giving up, I still managed to find the cache and sign the logbook.
Thanks for the cache!
Thanks for the cache!
Found after a bit of searching, there's a few of the hints to look through. Cache all good tftc
Liked the falls. Took a while to find the cache. Left turtle tb.

McLean falls in full force. Hard cache to find in the rain! Got a bit mucky but was a fun search. TFTC
Ten days off in a row for the price of two leave days, how fabulous! Packed up the whanau for an adventure and headed south. Our original plans were slightly thwarted by water, but we made the trip into an adventure tikitour with a few caches along the way. Signing the logs as Team Polak or TP for brevity. Great fun, thanks to all the CO’s for the entertainment!!
Hmm... we might have climber over some barrier... Found eventually!! TFTC!!

Though my GPS isn't very happy with NZ, I found this one pretty quick. I don't find the hint of any value, like many other hints in this country.
But the waterfall is very nice.
Thanks for creating this cache for us.

During our holiday in New Zealand we have visited both the North and the South Island. We saw a lot of highlights of this beautiful country, but there is so much more to see. So many highlights, so many caches! The geocaches showed us a lot of special and interesting places. Sometimes a quick find, sometimes we had to search longer. A few DNF's, but that doesn't matter. We loved New Zealand and we hope to come back some day!
Today we have found the cache "McLeans (Catlins, Otago)".
Mcroni, thanks for creating and maintaining this cache!

Found before venturing up to the Waterfall. Lots of muggles in area. Took a bit of finding as kept thinking had found right spot. TFTC
Plenty of water going over the falls which made them more spectacular than others we saw later in the day. The pies in the nearby cafe were also good. The cache itself was one of those rare finds where it was in the first place I looked. TFTC.
A great day to explore the Catlins. Mc Lean Falls are well worth a visit. Spectacular. Tftc

Spent awhile looking for this one. Enjoyed the walk to the falls

Thanks took a little while to find. These waterfalls are well worth seeing. My son is tired and decided to stay in the car I will need to come back with him sometime.
Rainy day today, but we visited the McLean Falls after being at the Cathedral Caves. On the way to the falls we looked for this cache, needs a moment, but then we found it !
Because of no pencil (and the one in the cache writes no more) we made a photolog.
Many thanks for hiding and greetings from Germany !

Didn't find it. But we weren't in a big geocache-mood. So maybe we didn't look good enough.
#800. Travelling through the Catlins with extended family in 2 campervans and a rental car, 11 of us altogether. We’ve had a great 10 days so far, and taking the opportunity to get a few caches along the way. This one I found entirely using my Garmin, a bit unusual for me. Assisted in my search by my grandsons, and GB Leader. McLean Falls were spectacular, well worth a visit. And this cache is now my most southerly find. Another milestone.
Tftc Mcroni.

While visiting the falls had a search for this one, but the grass and ferns were so wet that my pants were soaked in no-time so abandoned the search before the find.
Quickly found together with Pratchettfan on our way to the falls. (As the Niagara Falls were a bit disapointing we hoped for more impressive ones here)
Thanks for hiding and maintaining the cache!

On the way to the falls, which were a little bit bigger than the previously visited Niagara Falls , we added a short stop to look for this Cache.
The hint left many options to check, fortunately the coordinates were quite good and the object turned up quite quickly.
Thanks for this Cache!

Sunshine, no sandfly bites, nice walk, beautiful waterfall, and a cache. Perfect start into the day - tftc!
A short walk to the falls and a cache on the way - great for geocachers on holiday thanks for the cache!
After a short search we could find this cache. Then we walked to the falls and loved the view! Very impressing and beautiful! Thanks for showing us this beautiful falls! Greetings from Germany, GolmarKlonk

Many thanks to all the COs who helped make our geocaching holiday a great success
We left home early April and returned 21 May 2018. We toured from our home base up to a wedding in North Taranaki then carried on heading south right down through wellington and on down the west coast and back up via the eastern side of the alps some times going around in circles. Our aim was to get as many smiley faces on the puzzle caches that we had solved but of course stopping for many traditionals, multies and others as we went. some time we biked the bike trails or walked but mostly by campervan. we enjoyed the quite back country roads, many of them were metal but we just travelled along slowly going from cache to cache. Most caches were in good condition and I will remark if we thought it needs maintence etc.

Found after 5 minutes since GPS reception seems to be no so good today! Lovely falls. Tftc
I see that from this junction, one could trek quite a different trail. But to digress back to the path, takes you to the falls... up early, we had the falls to ourselves, lovely walk, very cool temperatures, peaceful and serene. As for the falls namesake, I would hazard, given the informative sign, close to GZ that he too, trod a different path Enigmatic, yet a statement. TFTC
Tried some blackberry's while finding this cache. They were a bit bitter but not to bad the good thing about the blackberry plant is the fruit. Anyway great place to start a walk and an easy find TFTC
A quick find today. Had been to the falls many times before caching. Today's mission was to gather smilies, we didn't want to "fall" behind on time, so skipped the falls today. Maybe the cache needed to be closer to falls, so traveling cachers who are short on time can see these amazing falls also.
At GZ when some searching when some people came past and stopped to marvel the huge amount of berries near the track so we had to stay put for a while... lol. TFTC
Thank you very much dear owner for placing caches at such wonderful places so that we can be sure not to miss them.

I'ive started my beautiful trip of the South Island in Christchurch, I've visited many beautiful locations. I've travelled via Lake Tapeko, from Dunedin to the most southern part of Bluff. I've then continued with a cruise in Milford Sound and then back to Queenstown.
From there on I've visited Wanaka and the Haast pass to the Franz Josef glacier. I went all the way up to the Abel Tasman NP. Richmond und Nelson as the sonnierst cities were on my list as well.
I've soon reached the east coast in Picton and Blenheim.
After a couple of days, I've then travelled back to Christchurch via Kaikoura.
I've spent a couple of days in Christchurch and it's surroundings.
I've visited many geological sites and have found many caches along the way.
I've travelled 3500km and have experienced so much.
Thank you to all the owners

Very impressive falls, Wasn't quite expecting that. Headed back to the car, stopping off to try some blackberries. Plenty of tracks made by those picking some of these - or were thy geocaching trails? Using the hint managed a quick find however. Tftc
During our stay in the Catlins we did some very nice walks and visited beautiful places. And we appreciated very much to find even some caches at these spots. Thank you very much for having placed them and greetings from Switzerland.
I was very surprised at the number of vehicles parked in the carpark seemingly so far off the main road and at the modern facilities. The falls must be well advertised somewhere as a must see attraction. Yet another stunning waterfall. Searched in several places where some wildlife obviously live before finding the right spot. Loved the moss, ferns, etc in the way.... Tomtit in trees. Lovely walk! TFTC! Amazing waterfalls..... volume of water was impressive. Oh McLean you’ve done it again!
Fun find. Afterwards, I continued to McLean Falls, which were magnificent! Dropped a TB. Thanks for a cache at this great location!
On parental leave we used the time for some stops to visit interesting places. This was one of them Thank you for leading us to this location.

First traditional find today after logging Earthcache at Cathedral Caves nearby. Having a grown-up only trip to the area, leaving the cachelettes with the grandies in Bluff where we are holidaying. Off to the falls!
The falls are great, with the slim falls in the back and widening in the front. And we also liked the smallo ebelow the chute. The walk was also ahighlight, first through the small bushes, through the rain forrest with the moss-covered trees.
Thanks for putting a cache here! Pretty hard to find, as there were many possibilities- but we had sufficient time, as no muggles were around.
Best wishes from Germany.

We had the great chance to travel around New Zealand during six weeks and were able to see wonderful cities, landscapes and meet nice Kiwis. While staying in NZ many cache owners gave us the opportunity to search for very well hidden treasures and we thank them very much for preparing and maintaining them.

Together with the Rattenfanger we have been traveling through New Zealand for 6 weeks. We have rented a camper and have been on both islands. Besides the amazing nature that we saw in New Zealand, we also had to geocache. This is how we found this cache!
We took a short walk here and enjoyed the beautiful waterfall.
