I'm new to geocaching and have owned this property for 21 years and never knew this was here. Well done.
Given the perfect weather and the rare occurance of days off at the same time, Chookster and I set out to walk stage 3 of the Lavender Trail which for us was Annie Lane to Mt Beevor. I have walked this fire track before, many years ago before I knew caching existed. But this time Chookster and I came from the South, and I have to say the Southern approach was bloody steep! With only about 3.5 km to go on our hike, that approach was harsh and my legs didn't appreciate it at all! The views are amazing, the cache was easily found and signed.
TFTC Nibs, great location for a cache.

Went walking with naughtybunny today along section 3 of the Lavender Trail. This was near the end and gee it was a slog uphill approaching from the east. Finally made it to the top and enjoyed the views. Of course had to grab this cache while we were here. TNLN. Cheers.
This was a lovely walk, I set off up the track from the car park, avoiding the sheep as I went, the views at the top are wonderful. The cache was easily found and then back to the car I went, 6km in just under an hour. Well worth it if in the area
Today with an event on in Mt Barker I set off early in the day for a full days caching. Starting in loberthal and making my way through the towns and back roads as I went. Managed to get 55 finds and see 3 brown snakes at caches.
Thank for the cache

Found It!
I've been wanting to do this one for years and today I finally got around to doing the walk up the hill. Some great views along the way and from the top! I found the cache after a short search then sat and looked through the log book, always nice to find such an old cache with the original logbook.

I had a great time here today. Weather was perfect, everything is still green. I had the trail to myself apart from a flock of sheep.
Sensational views from the top. Photos won’t do it justice, so instead I took a photo of the sign next to the cairn. You can add Mt Torrens to the list too. If you’re hiking up in a group, see who is the first to spot Mt Lofty, as you see the 3 TV towers before the peak is revealed.
Spotted my first shingleback of the season close to GZ.
Cache and log are in great shape.
Highly recommended! Thanks so much Nibs, you’ve made my day.

I have been working in the area for the last couple of months. Our company has been contracted to coordinate all the survey marks in the area. This has involved coordinating the survey mark on Mt Beevor. I have been fortunate to have the gate key and was able to drive to the cache. It was a tad overcast, but still some great views. I still have the key. Might get up there on a nice clear day. TFTC.
Seemed like a nice day for a walk.
Up a hill.
With sheep!
Luckily the recent fires came close but not right up to the equipment at the top and the cache itself.
The firetrack must have served well.
Today it just added to my mediocre fitness level as I climbed 24 floors according to my watch
A worthy cache not just another mint tin, but a great view and a sense of actually achieving something
Fav for being a real cache experience!
It gets pretty windy up ya beaver too

After a day of drive-bys it was great to stretch the legs on the walk up to this one.
Was rewarded with great views and lots of wind.
Thanks for my type of cache Nibs

I intended to get this cache last weekend but had turned left instead of right. Went back up the spur trail to the LFT and got it just after lunch. TFTC!
Found whilst walking the Lavender Federation track from Clare to Murray Bridge. Great views from the summit TFTC
Team Nibbler and I decided this would make a good walk for today's public holiday and we weren't wrong. Approached from the suggested parking coordinates. Only passed one (rather noisy) group of walkers going in the opposite direction. My friend who's an electrical engineer was impressed by the antennas while I was impressed by the views. A slight bit of haze on the horizon meant it was difficult to make out the fine details but I reckon I could see some dunes. A proper cache in my book. TFTC Nibs!

Was working less than 100M away and thought I would check the map and see what was close by as I needed a break. Was surprised to see this one so close so wandered over, made a quick find, signed log and replaced in its hole and covered it up.
While the views are spectacular it was really windy and was blown away by how strong it was.
Cache for the day acquired and logged.

Took a stroll up there today and replaced the container. Many thanks to Radioactive Ham for letting me know it needed doing. I had intended to replace it with a better container, but could only find one of the same to put in its place. Well the other one lasted 10 years, and as long as it keeps getting returned to its hidey-hole, out of the sun, it should last another 10 .
While swapping over the contents, I found that there was a Fire Service patch in there. What wonderful memories that evoked and couldn't resist taking it. Replaced it with a caching lanyard.
Now if only we could get all these newbies that are obsessed with #$%@* Power Trails away from that crap and out here, this may receive more than 1 hit/year. It really has a stunning 360 deg view. Mt Lofty and the Coorong were easily visible to the naked eye today.

Found it. The container is broken and UV degraded. Cache full of earwigs insects. Great view on this visit.
Can't believe no one has been here for eighteen or more months easyfind lovely walk took trackables great sunset
After weeding in the morning Sal and I decided a walk was in order. 6km up a mountain sounded like nice challenge for us. It was a very windy day, so hats needed to be secured. The first km it is steep but after that it levels out and is good walking...and the views! The sign board at the top told us what we could have seen on a clear day. The wind was whipping up the dust around the district but we still managed to make out Mt. Barker and Mt. Lofty. Could make out the Barossa but the River and Lakes were shrouded in dust haze. A quick walk down to the cache and hold on tight to everything to sign it. Took the GC and left a GC. Thanks Nibs. Can't understand why people avoid doing these walks. It was great. And we got to see an echidna on the way back down.
Looked at doing this one when in the area about 3 months ago, but it was raining too much to even attempt it. Today was blustery (to say the least) and there was sporadic drizzle, but not enough to stop us from walking to GZ .
The surrounding countryside is looking wonderful [^] and even after a 7km hike earlier today, we still had enough in the tank for a further 6 !
TN. Left stamps and 'Astronomy' GC. SL.
Thanks Nibs.
PS. This was our 3,300th cache find [^]!

Found late in the afternoon after a short walk up along the Federation Trail from Pyms Road. The low cloud and squalls obscured the views and the brisk wind ensured a short stay. TFTC.
Havent been up here for a while so this time we did it by bike & took the GPS along to see what we could find.
Great spot for a Cache & need to get more people out here for a look.
Thanks for the cache!

The walk into this cache was further than I expected, but shorter than if I'd tackled it from the east where we were for an orienteering event today.
The walk was enjoyable, and the views from the top have to be Adelaides best kept secret. Wow, you can see for miles, literally (Barossa Ranges, River Murray, Lake Alexandrena and the Southern Ocean, Mounts Lofty and Barker!!!! And closer to Mount Beevor were the valleys filled with beautiful gum trees. To top everything off everything is looking so green and fresh.
Thanks Nibs for bringing me here, a great cache.

A great walk early this morning. What a great 360 deg view on this clear morning. Could see the Coorong and the River Murray. I didn't realise you could walk to the top of Mt Beevor so thanks for showing this to me. T: $100 TB
Another good Nibs cache in a great location. Recently we had two chaps who are in charge of the Lavender Trail visit our home town of Eudunda, with a view to continuing the trail from Truro through our town, eventually ending up at Clare. We are most keen for this to happen, and so were interested in walking some of the existing trail. So let's see, are there any "boxes" on the trail anywhere? YES - one on Mt Beevor, so that makes a double reason to go. So forget the housework, house maintenance, gardening that needs to be done - let's have a caching day instead We found the nearby ALDWT #3 first, then continued walking the trail until we got to this one. Probably a bit further than parking where you suggested , but a lovely walk through country that is beautifully green at present. It was fairly windy up on top, but we found some shelter and had our picnic lunch with 360 degree views on a lovely clear day. [^] We could see Lake Alexandrina in the distance, the sand dunes beyond the lake, Mt Barker and Mt Lofty. Absolutely beautiful. Thanks so much for bringing us here. Took the TB and some cuphooks, left a TB and a yoyo.
A great walk. Been putting this off for a while but with a few hours to spare it was time to get it done! Seriously cold and windy at the GZ. Thanks for the cache. Great views!!!! Took nothing... leftb Leyland mini travel Bug ... the first mini to make it to the top of the mountain.
Nice pleasant 6km walk if you don't mind rain, hail, wind and near zero temperatures...

Reckon we might have seen Froghoppin in front of us today in the geocar! We walked the Federation Trail from Tungkillo to Murray Bridge, getting some caches along the way until the batteries died! Great view from the top here!
Found after a 5 Km hike along the Lavender trail, fantastic views, cache is still in excellent condition. TNLN TFTC
Found at elevation 505 metres after a great walk with Poodle-Smoodle. This was an enjoyable walk through farmland that would be otherwise undiscovered. Thanks Nibs.
Found with ds-fifty. I see we were the first to find in nearly a year. Hopefully not so long till the next find. Thanks
I was one of those in that crazy mob of youth that you helped lead to the cache. Thanks for that!
TNLNSL
PS I'm currently filling in a backlog of caches in response to JackHenry's comment that I should eat prunes!
I thought that this cache may have been archived due to the fires over this summer...glad it's not.

A stressful drive to start being responsible to get 8 carloads of kids to the spot (thanks nibs for the map work)... are we here? not sure, drive further... now are we here? go back to start the walk was great, set the youth and gpsrs free 200m out. Go Go Go thanks again nibs's see you at the parrot party... TNLNSL.
Joined the mass of cache hunters on this beautiful evening. Great opportunity to try out my new GPS!!! Thanks Nibs for joining us. TNLNSL
Thankyou Nibs for joining us on the walk to find the cache - it was lots of fun !!! The only downside was being scared senseless by a mob of charging sheep in the dark!!! Thanks again - TNLNSL
In the end the walk was less than 2km, just don't ask how we did it.
Saw heaps of Kangaroos on the way . Just as we arrived there was a muggle leaving in a ute from the masts so waited for a while. Great views.
The aim of the trip was to rescue the TB which had been stuck here for 3 months and I don't think was going anywhere in a hurry. Had no info on the TB but decided a good deed was required.

Set off from the original parking coordinates in bright sunshine. Ms Shonky stayed in the car for a nap, and the friendly local landowners were nearby planting trees in the creek. Walked up the hill, puffing and panting past all the cows, and a solitary and thankfully timid bull.
After about 2 kms the sun disappeared, and before one could say "Thats a bit shonky", I was being pelted by rain. Having come so far, there was no way I was about to turn back, so I trudged steadily on to the GZ. Unfortunately with the weather, it was all foggy at the top, but I can imagine the views on a clear day would be awesome. TNLN, but dropped a TB in to encourage other cachers up here. This is a fantastic cache, one that I really enjoyed, despite the weather. It has the nice walk and an easy find at the end. A shonky tick of approval!!

Looks as if I followed Team Hurtle's footsteps in. Quite by coincidence as I was working off some old printed sheets and was unaware of this approach. Great views from the top were much appreciated. Thanks for the cache Nibs.
After having gone past 'ALDWT#3' I continued along this 'road' for approx 1 km and parked at S34 55.436 E139 02.582 and then headed off about 1 km each way to 'Beaver Mountain'!! Was very pleasant walk, couldn't find the markers, which I was sure would be on this side of the hill! Trudged uphill and was rewarded with a great view!!
Left a patch, Took Hong Kong Taxi TB
Thanks Nibs

We have been putting this cache off for far too long, so today was the day to log it. We were expecting a far harder walk, but it turned out to be not only easy, but very enjoyable as well. We shared most of the walk with dozens of cows, who either ran along in front or followed us all the way to the top. All up, the hike took 2 hours, but would have been quicker if we hadn't stopped for so many photos. Visited the trig marker and tower before retrieving the cache, which is in good condition and dry. Took the gold turtle, left the blue monster. Dropped off TB Hong Kong Taxi. An excellent cache thankyou Nibs.

Lovely walk up the back side of the mountain on a glorious day. The view includes much green, yellow, purple and distant blue. Enjoyed a very pleasant picnic lunch.
Not sure why there is men's and women's loos on the top? Saw several park rangers on the way back to the car. And heaps of wild flowers, including lots of sundew.

Great views, lots of roos yet again and one very well maintained fox. Bit of a hike but we made good time. Took helicopter and left toad. Thanks Nibs.
Finally found the closest point to hike in from. I knew that it was that point I was heading for but getting there was a different story.
Lovely Sunday afternoon hike and found the cache really easily. Another place that I am so glad that geocaching has taken me to.

Great Sunday morning walk.
The weather was clear and the cattle followed me for part of the walk.
Seem to have been on a lot of high ground lately in this area.
Will try to work out how to get to Fox peak in the next few weeks.
Enjoyed the walk back the cattle were wairing for me at one of the gates on the way back.

A lovely sunset seen on my way to Lenswood from this place. A brief drop by before picking up a few more delicious apples, grown not to far from here.
Thanks Nibs. Took juggling ball and left WA tape measure.
Clear skies, Astro.
I must admit this is the type of cache I enjoy most. The ones that get you up and out on a decent walk.
It was a bit cool and drizzly today (good walking weather) so unfortunately I missed a lot of the views but still had an enjoyable stroll. I'll have to return in better weather for the views I guess!
Cache was easily found thanks to spot-on coordinates.
Took nothing, left some coloured pencils to brighten the cache! Cheers Nibs, thanks for the exercise.
