NEWSFLASH!!
I was in the area and had this one loaded into my GPSr ages ago, so I went for a look, not having updated the page and after a bit of a seach found it.
It was waterlogged, log book soaked etc and the only way I could sign it was on the back of the log.
Does this count? I hope so, as it was a mission.

PS Got the smilie!

No response from owner. If you wish to repair/replace the cache sometime in the future, just contact us (by email), and assuming it meets the current guidelines, we'll be happy to unarchive it.
The cache appears to be in need of owner intervention. I'm temporarily disabling it, to give the owner an opportunity to check on the cache, and take whatever action is necessary. Please respond to this situation in a timely manner (i.e., within 21 days) to prevent the cache from being archived for non-responsiveness.
We checked today, and sadly the cache isn't where it was or any other spot nearby. It looks as though Mcroni hasn't been caching for a while now, so he's unlikely to maintain the placement. Given that the Huriawa Pa is protected private land, with title held by Ngai Tahu (jointly administered by Dept of Conservation and Puketeraki runanga) http://www.puketeraki.co.nz/environmental-projects/huriawa , we can't replace the cache without first asking permission. A spectacular placement- such a pity to lose it.
Couldn't find it too...
Something strange is going on in Karitane. All 3 Caches muggled?
But nevermind, it was a very nice trip to the cliffs... Thanks for sharing the location!

Had a look all over the peninsula but no sign of it. Probably just looking in the wrong spot
Each night I look ahead hoping to find a cache in a special place to visit (and having a high terrain always catches my eye!).
The views were amazing, on a bright, warm sunny day. GeoMum took lots of photos (but none near the cache )

A bit of a scramble to the cache but got there in the end! Great day for it. Tftc
Stunning spot for a cache thanks. Container out in open, and could not find an obvious hide for it.Left tucked in bush a tad less obvious but still visible.
TFTC. Was wearing completely inappropriate shoes for this, but managed to make the find anyway. Stunning views, glad we had a chance to visit.
TFTC, Wow what a stunning place to go caching thank you, luckily we caught the sunset as well
Sent 18 yr old son (who puts up with my geocaching!) up to find it, then I chastised myself for being gutless only to discover that it wasn't as bad as I had feared. TFTC
Very enjoyable walk and cache placement. Dry but very windy up there. Stunning views but definitely one for the fearless leader over the final few metres. A great one for our 900th logged.
Not the safest cache site I have ever been to. The cache was in view, and the last entry in the log appeared to be from a muggle (It was in appropriate so I removed the otherwise blank page).
Had actually seen this cache a long time ago - but had no idea what it was or why it was there at the time!
Have been wanting to do this cache for awhile but the weather has never been good enough. In the area caching today and decided to give it a crack. Sat the kids in the long grass near GZ and popped over the edge for a quick grab. A beautiful place to be on a sunny day! TFTC.
A clam, overcast day for a nice walk up the hill. Great views although wasn't too keen on watching my little boy clamber on the side of the cliff. Fortunately the cache was a little exposed and not hard to spot. Quickly signed and down off the heights.
Found it! Was very easy.... And Cat Stevens was the last to visit it.... Apparantly...

Great walk and views around the Pa site.
Cache is quite exposed with little cover in it's current position.
Didn't fancy scrambling around the cliff face to fnd it a better spot.

Found by Katie and Kyah. Lovely sunny day but also very windy. Took TB Home Sweet Home His.
9/9 today. Scarey as for someone who is scared of heights, but got there. Left TB. #80!
As I was being tentative at GZ, I didn't notice a couple of muggles Charlie and Ian watching me. "You doing that geocatching thing?" They asked as they looked at my rather precarious position. Maybe some converts, you never know.
Had a go at this yesterday but chickened due to high winds and not a small amount of vertigo, came back today much calmer both me and the winds and quite quickly found not nearly as far down as I first thought
Good thing wind not as strong as this morning as walked along the cliff tops. What a great place will have to come back some other time as it was getting too dark to enjoy all the sights. TFTC
Found on our 2nd visit. Last time we were not comfortable going down the ridge and we think we possibly went too far. This time it did not seem to be a problem for us.
What a beautiful spot. We only found it because we were looking for this cache.
A really popular place, we must have seen about 15 others out at 9am. A big blow today made for a careful search which was made easier by the cache being out in the open. Placed back under cover. TNLN Thanks.
11th of 13 with jnr johnnygoescaching crew today. Given the terrain rating I made sure the "children" stayed close and did the searching myself.
Not as scary as I thought! Only to one particular "new" member of the crew. Sat decripting the clue while stegan looked round and before we had decrypted it he had found it. TFTC
FINALLY. I remember clambering around here a couple of years ago and coming back empty handed. TFTC.
Whew! Definitely not for the fainthearted or those afraid of heights. Just glad the cache wasn’t 100m further to the East. Here with Tufty.
BaldEd and I decided to have a look at this one before deciding whether to venture to the GZ after reading the previous logs. Both of us decided that we would do it but went very slowly and carefully. I did get a small attack of vertigo though.

Whew! Fine day, but very windy, so we were keeping very low to the ground on the last few metres. The Department of Conservation leaflet "Huriawa Pa" gives an excellent rundown of the pa's history. Nice to see the new planting mostly surviving, and the tracks are superb now. This area is managed by Kai Tahu now as well as DoC- if they haven't yet been asked about placing a geocache here, it would be courteous to make contact.
One of the many caches we did during our holiday in New Zealand. Many interesting places seen thanks to all the caches.

Spent a lovely afternoon visiting our neighbours in Karitane, and let their 6- and 9-year olds find the box. No trouble.
Fantastic location. - pictures, + footprints. TFTC.

Didn't take too long to find. I'd visited this fine spot earlier on. The local birds took exception to my presence. TFTC!
Fantastic site well worth the visit, those tunnels formed from the water and the tide coming through is amazing. really loved the area. Hated the drops down though LOL!!! Left fireman, took fishing kiwi. Geo Coin Fish Eagle Visited so did Batman TB
dropped in here briefly checking out for superheroes, but onward in my quest................
GPS said 1 metre away but was too uncomfortable about the height and drops to investigate further off the side where it suggested I should be. So chickened out sadly. Stunning views.
Magnificant natural arches!! No fear at the cache site. Seen an older gentleman suffering very bad vertigo, he had to sit down by the path to rest. The headland would have been a very defendable place for the Maori tribe. TNLN.
16:05 Strolled up on a warm but breezy afternoon. We'd been here the previous April (but left the GPS behind) in company with a guardian who explained the fascinating and culturally rich heritage of the headland. Apparently the kids at the local school all knew about the cache - as do a lot of the their parents.
Enjoyed the walk again to day (with the GPS) and found it easily. Read the warnings on the web first - it is a long way down and non-slip shoes are a must!
Many Thanks - TNLNSL.
NB: No Geocoin in cache.

Great cache! Ended up doing the loop track (clockwise) before heading up to the cache. Quite high up there! But easily found. Cheers Gav [1138]

The cache had to be moved as the old site has changed making it unsuitable. The new site is close but a little more challenging.

202. Doing a run to Oamaru for the weekend, there was no rock on cache either, I did look if I could dislog a rock to help cover it, but struggle to stand as the wind was far blowing here. at least the cache didn't move!

Beautiful place on Earth, wonderful weather today and perfect view around.one from the best cahches, like nugget point.Great TFTC,TNLN
After watching this one sail past on the GPS radar many times I though it was a fitting one for my 300th. Great day for a walk along here (explored this place a few years ago pre-caching) and fantastic views. Pictures to follow. Pity the geocoin has gone . TFTC Mcroni!

Found it finally. What a great spot rather windy but very sunny the water below was very clear. Watched seals feeding around a boat that was cleaning fish.
Fantastic place and amazing views. Have visited Karitane several times, but did not know of this place. Will definitely return to spend more time exploring.

Another attempt on a failed geocoin mission, the USA coin was gone?. This is possibly the coolest cache location i've been to, truely amazing. Thanks for this fantastic spot.
Temped today but ran out of time in the morning. Walked around here last summer and loved it. Will have to schedule another time to have a good stroll and go hunting plastic boxes .
Amazing spot indeed. Took a while hunting around to find it. Left the USA geocoin to enjoy the view, and what a view it is!
Absolutely amazing location - did all the walks and took in the views
Tried approaching the geocache from the bottom straight up from the Waikouiti side of the beach but wasn't game to climb up the cliffs - however found the track from the top and there we were - once the other people around had left.

First time caching, GPS put us about 120m North but found it ok thanks to logs (since found out had wrong setting on gps). Been there not so long ago and had no idea of what "treasures" were there. Cache was found sitting on ground so when replaced was secured to prevent it blowing away. Next person should take a small pencil to leave (something else Ive learnt today).

Wow - we thought we had wind earlier when we were on the peninsular but this was really vicious - so strong we were nearly blown off the path and actually blown over on the way up to the cache istself! This is a great spot for a cache though. It has been muggled a few times but always returned safely.
Thanks

2:10pm - 3rd today. A wonderful spot for a cache! Awesome views, and a lovely walk out to the cache. I visited the beach many times as a child.
TNLN, thanks! (Al the digger TB visited)

After yesterday's disastrous attempt I thought I'd head back and "exorcise the demons". The site was a lot less intimidating in the daylight and a lot less slippery after a fine day. There was still some ice on a section of the track at 3.15 in the afternoon though. The cache location is stunning. Great cache, thoroughly recommend it. But still would suggest not attempting in dark or bad light nor if the tracks are likely to be slippery. Those clay paths are mighty close to some cliff edges in places!!!! Maybe I'm just a great big girl's blouse. Surprising how many people were walking out on this headland this afternoon. Thanks Mcroni. TNLN.
Thought I'd tell my tale of woe so that hopefully others don't make the same mistakes. I headed for this cache and The X ing after work in the hope of catching the last of the light. The heavy rain started as I headed out and I considered turning back but was too close to the site to abandon. Unfortunately the tracks at the cache site are clay based and there is little or no gravel on them. The tracks are steepish in places and with the rain they were treacherous, especially as I didn't have my boots. I fell on my botty twice and found much of the rest of the tracks quite dangerous. You will understand why when you go there! I got to within 3 metres of GZ but in the failing light and slippery conditions I took one look at the location and decided it was too risky. This will be a stunning spot in good conditions though. Headed over to The X ing which, even in darkness, was quite safe and easily found! So, a great cache but I suggest not attempting in failing light or if it has been raining. Also, wear shoes/boots with good grip and heed Mcroni's warning in the notes. Thanks for the challenge Mcroni. I'll head back tomorrow if it's fine (I think I can possibly slope off from work early.)
