Unfortunately the fire up here on the side of the Bluff has totally decimated any cache container. The tree which once hid the cache has been completely stripped of all leaf matter and the whole area looks like the aftermath of a bomb strike. Another cache may be placed up here in the future but for now there is nowhere left to hide anything.
Cache archived.
We were in the area, so thought we would try this anyway. As beaker said, a fire had gone through here. Since it was near the end of the month, we thought to give it a go anyway. I don't think this cache is here anymore. The entire area is burnt out within 100m around the GZ (except some lone trees). Where the GZ was, there was a star picket next to a large tree that was partially melted, and the tree was black and crispy as well. I don't think a plastic box would have survived.
There was a fire that went around this area last week. I'd advise that you don't attempt looking for this cache for a few weeks... probably the end of December. The pines are still smouldering and you don't really want to be caught up in a bushfire flare up in this area. The cache should have been fine, as the fire didn't get to the upper reaches of the hill. I will be checking in the next week or two to make sure that all is good.

great views of the surrounds from up here. on first thought we attempted to drive along top track, then realizing just how steep the drop off was, we decided to park the car and walk. it was a great walk for the fit, not so for the unfit....(geo dad)
t.n.l.n. thanx for the hunt.

Found by baby&Mrs gopher Also rode to the top "If you want to rock&roll"Took Dog Left Orbit. Tnx Beakers Bunch
I took the high road . . . thank heavens the geo-car has new off road tyres or I might have ended up sliding right past the cache. Or rolling . . .
Great view, good cache.

Found by Mary & David at 1515. Excellent - and think of all the caches you can see from here as well. The trusty GeoCalais carried us easily to within 200m of GZ, and from there the walk wasn't too bad at all. The views were great but somewhat limited owing to the smoky and cloudy conditions. TNLN. Our thanks again to Beaker's Bunch.
First cache for the day on our drive back home.
I picked an entry that had us block 130 metres from cache.
Went up a gap between a row of trees. I was pulling wood out from under the car when we got to the next cache location.
Legged it up the hill to find the cache.

Last one for the day before setting up camp. Interesting climb in the dark, even more so coming back down to the car. Found easily once at GZ. TFTH
Last one for the night. Parked 26m downhill from cache but foud it easily. Farted up for the night just down the track fro the cache. TNLN TFTH
Like previous visitors, this one was almost a drive by. Great views from up here, the grass was rather slippery after all that rain. Jess took the bangle and left a snake.
Thanks for all the great caches down south that we have visited these last few days Beaker's Bunch. Geocaching is a great way to plan those trips.

With team bounty. Nic views from here. Very near to where I spent quite a bit of time as a youngster. TNLNSL. Cheers and thanks.
Drove within 60m of the cahce. Not sure if this allowed but was a breathtaking view that prompted us to drive all the way up here. Found the cahce under one of the old gaurdians of the forrest. hopefully he will one day have protection around again. Left the cache with 2 pine cones to make it easier for the next visitores although we had no trouble. Thanks Beakers.
Great view from up here. We managed to get very close to the cache, then walked the last little bit.
After the short stroll down the hill, uncle posspet made the find, which allowed me to take a few pics.

The last of the Beaker-Astro cache raid. And how appropriate. Mars was rising with Orion. Beaker spotted Hamal and 6 Ari to the left of Mars – always a hard constellation to pic when low. Try downloading a brilliant easy to use planetarium program called Stellarium from here (http://stellarium.sourceforge.net/). It will help you find your way where a GPSr can’t. I love this program.
Left a Bangle and TN.
Thanx Beaker for this one and your hospitality. Oh, let me know if you ever get down into that new cave you found just down the track.
Clear skies, Astro.
Found quite a few muggles around due to mountain bike comp.Took one of Scojohara's geo kiddies for the walk, she has definatly done lots before what a little trooper. the ferns nearly swallowed her on the way down.
found very exposed cache easily (camden found it)
TNLNSL
poked it under the roots of the tree so it didnt blow away which was very likely today

Found today with Andrew and Leesa.
First track we took led us up a reasonably steap hill but only to find large bolders at the top and had to back back down.
After going around to another track we found the cache without too many hastles.
TNLNSL
Thanks BB

When my gps beeps
For a first to find
... see! I CAN still sing!
Found with Liz and Bruce on a fun-filled geocaching afternoon. We all got too high looking for the cones to begin with, but we eventually came back down to earth! Great sites from all levels - i can highly recommend this one for the distant views alone
Took a tube of glitter, left a matchbox car. Thanks Beaker for the great location. Thanks Liz and Bruce for helping me with my FTF .

Darren from idax got his virgin while we were a close second. Great spot, sitting under the cones looking at the cones. Thanks to Beakers Bunch for showing us this scenic lookout, I'm sure they got to it via a shortcut that would have saved us the climb we did very carefully down the muddy hill. Took shackle and travel bug and left star cutter. Thanks Beakers Bunch.
