I don't think Rustymac is in the Geocaching business anymore. I tried contacting him a long time ago icw another cache and got no response. Caches he discovered were last updated 2008. The bridge is not only being painted but resurfaced. This cache is unlikely to be there after the bridge work is completed.
We were in the area today finishing off Grounds for Pleasure, and noticed that the cache location could not be accessed.
Rustymac - the time has come. This cache is not accessible at the moment & won’t be for the foreseeable future. The bridge works going on at the moment has workers all over the place & they are completely re-painting the whole thing, so even if it is still there at the moment, it won’t be soon. Maybe you should list it as Temporarily Unavailable at the moment & then replace the cache when they have finished the upgrade works.

Just adding to the long list of DNF's. Thought we'd give it another go today but couldn't even get near due to the renovation work going on. The whole bridge is having a huge facelift and has been stripped and repainted. There's no chance the cache will still be there. Hope it gets replaced when the work's completed.
Suspect the workers have either found it, or its hiding outside their work zone. Fantastic line of sight from here though, and saw possibly the oddest pigeon in the world.
Unfortunately this one is most certainly gone.
Snavelled by the people who are working on the bridge. Now that the entire mobile work area has moved to the next section of the bridge the latest cache hiding place is covered.
This one needs maintenance carried out. We were dissapionted not to get this one as this was a top spot for one.
hope it makes it back another day for us to find.

Not a chance of finding it today. Muggle activity was high but that didn't deter us. The workmen's scaffolding, on the other hand, did. Dak's updated co-ordinates took us so close to the workmen's area that we aren't sure if the cache is inside or outside their zone.
Workmen are painting the bridge. I suspect that if they haven't already surrounded, found or painted the cache, then they are about to next time they move their hoarding. Might be worth a visit to see if the cache is safe under the current conditions.
Not a chance; couldn't even look. The area was swarming with workers today doing some bridge repairs. We'll be back...
Found during the successful hunt for Grounds for Pleasure. Nice hide, definitely go with Dak's co-ords on this one. TFTC.
Found it quickly with the new coords. Nice day lots of ppl about. had to wait a bit to put it back again.
Good hide in a very busy place. Had to watch we weren't run over by speeding cyclists. A gap in traffic allowed us to grab the cache at GZ, right on the new coords. TFTC.
[Went with Tina this morning but didn't find this one on the first attempt. We spent the morning in como looking for other caches and then had lunch at the pub. Came back on the way back over the bridge and was more lucky this time.
Finally found ]the right X[ and then got the cache quickly so as not to attract too much attention. Signed the log and put it back. One the way back to the car we saw a blue wren catching a moth for lunch!
thanks for this one]

Didn't find it on our first attempt, but after a lovely picnic lunch at the nearby park, our return journey was successful.
1st of two dnfs this weekend....We searched high and low. Didnt find any attaching device as mentioned by previous cacher. Will try again in the future.
Found fairly quick using the alternative co-ordinates given below. Can't believe I have walked past this almost every weekend for the last 3 years.
Exposure to the elements is taking it's toll on the cache, with attaching device being a little loose now. Take care not to let it drop into the murky depths below !!

Came here last year with Frippy and searched for ages with no luck, I came this time with the other cords found straight away with no muggles to be seen good work rustymac thanks.
Ok, so we didn't return so soon to do this cache. We approached this time from the Nothern end armed with the posted co-ords. After a bit of searching around and waiting for the muggles to leave the cache was soon in hand. We are sure we searched here before though, don't know how we missed it. Thanks rustymac for the cache.
If you attempt this cache, take heed of the co-ords that dak's Emu Mob has put on the log site below, they are far more accurate than the posted ones.
A film crew were on a lunch break very close to GZ when I arrived, unfazed, with one grab the cache was mine! Thanks daks, and thanks rustymac....SL. PS also take Rumplestiltskin1's advice about where to stick your appendage!

Found by Geo-Wizard Dad on a rainy Sunday afternoon. Even with the rain the muggles were out and about. Great spot.
[Well after a DNF 2 days ago, Mrs KC decided to read some of the old logs and found DAKS coords... so on making the trip back to the area on a beautiful Sunday afternoon and finding muggles galore, Mrs KC pulled out her trusty camera as she often does to make it look like we are just the usual tourists, but everyone was so friendly stopping to offer to take photos with us in it, that it took a little longer to make the snatch...as just as well I had her with me, as size certainly made a difference in this instance....TFTC ] DAK's coords S 33° 59.724 E 151° 04.222
Took a little fumbling to find the cache. Co-ordinates not too accurate but then there are only so many places one can hide in such an open location. Hardest part was trying to look casual as the Saturday strollers frequently interrupted the search. Clever location and another good excuse for a walk.
Well it was midday when I arrived and it was 45 minutes later when I left very dissapointed that I did not find a cache hidden in another beautiful part of the world!!
I had a good 5 minutes muggle free to search in and out, up and down! I even decrypted a previous log and searched where it suggested but I could not find it!! Well at least I had a chance to enjoy the view

3rd attempt, found by Kiddo while Fred and Peedee were investigating elsewhere. The clues made more sense once the cache was in our grasp - thanks.
I came a few months back with no luck, this time I used Daks coordinates and found it straight away!! Great spot, pitty it was pouring rain, but it kept the muggles away.
@1430. Just about got my arm stuck trying for a quick grab between muggles!! TNLN (of course!) - T4TH.
great to find our first one! thanks rustymac - one should turn to the rising sun between the pillars of stability and reach for desired treasure between the pillars of security have fun geocachers...

Found this one after a couple of attempts. I found the cache about 30m off coordinates.
A very frustrating hunt. Thanks for bringing me here.

You got us this time rustymac, after searching for awhile, avoiding many strange looks from mugglers we just couldn't find this one.. Coordinates trying to send us off the edge of the bridge.. Searching high and low.. Which X? So many possible spots for a micro?? On the phone and still couldn't find her.
Certainly lots of places to look, but really only one logical place it could be.......
Now this would be a good area to put a multi puzzle cache....

I had plenty of time to allow the GPS to settle and to figure out where the cache may be while I waited out the crowds on the bridge. Once the last of the had passed I reached out to the most likely location. Nothing. I twisted my had to the next spot and felt the familiar shape of a cache. Waiting for the crowds to clear was no burden when the views were that good.
After dodging many muggles we came up with the find. If X marks the spot then there must be a bazillion caches hidden here.
Cheers.
Cheers.
[I found it by criminy but I had to use the Rats helpline to do so. The coords are a mile out and there are a million spots you could hide a micro, but rest assured it is there somewhere. So yeah after avoiding around 20 muggles and phoning a friend I had the little bugger in hand in short order. This is a good spot for a cache, thanks Rustymac!] It's on the eastern side reach between a join in the fencing. if you have fat arms you won't get thru. And don't drop it!
Spent ages looking around ground zero even expanded my serch to the entire bridge. I new what the X's were but just could not find it.
Can you believe it, "I dropped it" In a late night raid on this place I found the location easy enough. Thanks to Daks updated coords. But instead of hearing a splash some minutes later there was the fumbling of metal and then a solid hit. After a short search the cache was found and a retrival method planned which I wont go into. Needless to say the cache is back in its place and I managed to sign the log. Thanks for the adventure.

With assistance of Jorgi and 2 GPS's not able to find. We were hoping it to be an easy find for the way home. Many Muggles about, and the Answer to the question posed by one Muggle “Looking for a place for a bomb?†Fred replied â€would I tell you if I was?â€
We will return.

Finally got it. After many an attempt coming up with nothing I finally nailed this one with some help from team batty. So glad to cross this one off!

Another supposedly quick trip out to add to our finds. Talk about Muggle Nightmare!!! Obviously not a good cache to do around 7:00pm. Lots of Muggles just going for a walk, a ride, or even walking the Mut.
Dak's Emu Mobs coords were closer than the originals - glad I put them in the GPSr as well. Lots of X's to mark the spot, but ya gotta make sure you're looking at the right one & that it is on the right side of the bridge! Found the prize after about 30mins of looking.
Smallest pencil we've come across!!!!

Found easily using dak emus mob coords. Took a detour on the way home from the beach to do the caches in this area. No rain but an overcast miserable kind of day ensured that not many muggles were taking a leisurely stroll. Just made sure I stayed behind those in front of me.
Great "log" book.

Found easily with Dak's co-ords. There sure are plenty of X's to mark the spot.
Thanks for the clever hide. Great little log book as well.

Many thanks for the correct coords from dak's Emu Mob! Bit of stealth required as there were quite a few muggles today. Signed the nice logbook. Thank you for the cache and the unique view rustymac!

searched for nearly 2 hours on the coldest windiest day in November for 100 years .. no luck!
Found the bridge easily but from there on the gps was giving us very strange co-ords and couldn't get it closer than 7m!

We hadn't read the comments about the error in co-ords and had only downloaded waypoints given on the GPS but we will return soon now we know. Thanks rustymac, we should have done the research.
Only found this one thanks to mystery man "floody" who was caching in the area.
Thanks Floody!

Enjoyed this cache and the coffee at the Como marina, thanks rustymac for taking us there.

Went out again with family + few friends.
Unfortunately too many muggles out n' about for us to give this a decent search.
Will need to try again sometime soon!

Took the dog for a leasurly afternoon stroll... found a cache while I was out!!!
As I was approacing this one, about 10m out, my batteries went flat... It was 18:00 and getting a bit hard to see. I looked around for about half an hour using a methodical search.
I eventually rang SWAG Tim to confirm my location, and worked out that the place where my GPS died was the place he originally looked so I took his advice and headed a bit north, and I found it within 2min of hanging up...
Thanks

Had no luck with our first attempt at night, so we tried again during the day thinking it'll be easyer to see. Turns our seeing is over rated. Most rewarding one we've found so far!
Went a night... no luck..went again and found it! Woo Hoo!! great cache, but lots of muggles around so be careful!
I concur. The co-ords are as DAK says - about 26m out. Maybe this should become a Mystery cache after all the fuss recently over "Oh Darling".
Great spot anyway. I have enjoyed coming here for years. Thanks Rustymac.

Sixth of seven finds for the night in my continuing assault on the Shire. I had no cache notes with me for this one, but I had the coordinates in my GPSr, and being in the area, I thought I'd give it a go. I reckoned I knew what I would be looking for as soon as I arrived at the bridge. However, my GPSr kept pointing me 10m into the drink! I had contact with plenty of birds, and low EPE. Still, there aren't that many places it could be, so I set about finding it. I expanded my search by 15m or so in each direction, and on both sides of the bridge. After 20 minutes or so. and several rethinks, a group of young people came along, so I reluctantly gave it away.
When I got back to the car I fired up the laptop and looked at the logs. There were several mentions about coords being 25-30m out! Hmmmmm! I decided to go back for another try. This time I found it within a few minutes at 2145. According to my GPSr, GZ was 26m away! I left my GPSr to average for three minutes while I did the business. I had contact with eight satellites, and an EPE of 5m. The resulting coordinates are attached to this log. (I wish more people would do that instead of just complaining that the coords are wrong.) Thanks to rustymac for the cache.

I ventured out solo on Sunday to attempt this....bad idea, the place was crawling with muggles and parking was tricky. So i let it sit for the time being.
I put this one down as a night cache and the 3 of us (Twisties, Fugu and Myself) ventured out to do it. We started of at the supposed GZ...nothing...we tried 30m away...nothing...we tried everything in between...nothing. We had some passers by confused as to why there were 3 people on a bridge at night with torches...but?
Eventually Twisties found it and i recovered it. Nicely placed although my GPS didn't like the coordinates.
Thanks

Does anyone else find it interesting that men died of the bends while building a bridge and they weren’t divers. So what was the name of the bridge and what where the bends called back in that period. Please note don’t confuse the bends with BENZ which where very small bikinis worn by hot babes in Cronulla once upon a time.
Arrived at GZ, searched a few likely spots, then took the hint from previous logs and assumes that the co-ords were out. Searched a few spots to the North, then came back to GZ to try an alternate location.
Looked at my GPSr which informed me I was 1.9m from the cache. Reached out and the cache was mine.
Nice spot, and fantastically accurate co-ords

Having a day off and a new cache nearby there was only one place I could be. Headed down on the bike on a cold morning. Even at this time of day it seems a fairly popular spot.
After about an hour of searching around GZ I was thinking there couldn't really be many more hiding spots. That was when the geost170 team showed up and found the cache within a few minutes. Our GPSrs both agreed on a location but it wasn't the location of the cache. If anyone has trouble I suggest trying 25-30m North.
Nice view from GZ and good to meet some other cachers.

As we approached GZ I said to my wife 'I bet that guy up ahead is looking for the cache'. Sure enough it was SWAG tim. We compared notes and all agreed that we didn't want to go for a swim as our GPSr's were telling us to. In the end my wife found it, sans GPSr, almost 30M from GZ. We split the first finders booty with SWAG tim and headed off for some lunch. Thanks rustymac.
