Gaahh! I think it is gone. Time for the owner to have a look. We had a posse of five looking today with no results. Used both new (downloaded today) and old coords.
Argh! We spent almost an hour on this one, but to no avail. We were glad we didn't take the kiddies, due to the lovely things laying around, and we spent half the time either crawling on the ground, or swearing at vicious bushes and trees. After giving up, then deciding to have one more look about ten times, we gave up!

Also couldn't find. Lots of building rubbish about, looked under several rock piles, nothing.
Well----more bad news. I spent 20 mins (yes with the new coords) looking all over the GZ. Started with the obvious cairn location, and picked up every rock in the stack. Not there. Went on to a few within the immediate area, also without luck. If it looked like it could hide something, I looked under it. Found some incredibly creepy bugs, mushrooms, and some trash too disgusting to describe on a family website. Would definitely use a visit by the S's to confirm that it's really gone and that the two of us weren't just wandering around lost. Cheers.
We found the tree and we found the cairn, we also found a plastic bottle with a piece of hose sticking out of it, no cache though.
Hope the party goers haven't found it!

Another cache whilst on a lap of the lake. We attempted this one from the wrong direction at first, but found it in the end.
Cheers.

Found on a weekend of cycling, caching and punctures. Didn't take long, signed log and moved on to the next challenge. TFTC!
My Daughter and I attempted this on Saturday, I had not at that time read any logs as we were just out doing a few caches. I felt that there were something wrong, because at GZ there had been so much activity; ie trees had been removed etc, so after scrabbling through bushes and over turning every rock I could find, and believe me there were heaps we decided to call it quits for the day and move on to the next.
Only after I got home and checked the coordinates did I know why, I had downloaded the coord's but not ammended to the new ones as I had down loaded the original ones about a month ago.
Now it is found, I must say it is a good cache, well hidden,
Thanks for the cache

Ah, so I see, this has changed coords. BUT, ALL flow on effects have not been corrected.
The S's need to notify someone.
(pardon the "secrecy", but there is something about this cache by someone else).
No wonder I couldn't find it, and consequently a wasted few hours.

We never cease to be amazed at the places geocaching takes us. It's certainly the way to see the interesting places while visiting a new city. Thanks to The S's for showing us this spot. Also, very nice to meet StevenWill when we arrived.

Great little cache, shame they are cutting the trees in the area. With hardly any trees left easy find.
Thank you, would never even have gone to this area if not for the cache! Also met the Hawmorfords on the way out, all the way from Queensland. Great chatting to you, may your geocaching always be fun.

Found it at lunchtime. Took the easy way in. Nearly got decoyed but no problems in the end.

Found @ 4:54pm.
Found this as part of doing another cache.
Contents are still quite damp and the log book definitely needs replacing.
Fore! and Hux the geo-hound were with me doing the other cache as well - Fore! had previously found this one but this was Hux's first visit too!
He scored a couple of thorns for his efforts while I stumbled around in my walking boot!

Found it, but more importantly found the long prickly vines that attempted to remove my ankle. It is all my fault as because it was a nice day the intrepid cacher chose to wear a pair of Teva's and walk through the bush. Cache had about an inch of water in the base and after emptying and attempting to dry out as much as possible we were left with the sad task of putting the cache back in its hide as there was nothing more we could do with the resources we had. Log book is full and our pencil mark is in there now.
whilst innocently out for a morning stroll, i a muggle, found a mysterious container in the woods, on opening it i discovered a web address and now i am here! i look forward to finding more!
Nice easy lunchtime find.

Third for the day with Secret Squirrel-BJC. Well, finally made it to my half century caches! Thanks S's. TNLN
Found by Mary & David at 1430. Just the sound of black cockatoos for company. We enjoyed the history here, and loved the fused brick 'rock' at the front gate. TNLN. Our thanks to The S's.
An interesting place that's a part of Canberra's history and something that visitors don't normally get to see. An easy find once we decided not to try and go through the locked gates. Took a souvenir BB. Thanks "the S's" for bringing us to a location we would not have otherwise known about.
Found cache after negotiating dry blackberries and other vegatative impediments to travel. I found the easy way to it on the way out! Took travel bug (5755105) which I will put in a cache back in New Zealand. Thanks for setting the cache.
13:00h took Geo-dog for walk and Geo-Son for drive found easy walk, note the Bike jumps are further East of the GZ

Arrived at this one this afternoon after work, with the sound of wailing sirens in the background and helicopters fluttering around over Red Hill dumping water on a fire.
Nice and prickly. Nice easy find, co-ords were spot on. Was on the watch for snakes but saw none.

Found with Hayleylou. This was an interesting place to explore around. Though a few cuts on an unsuspecting me from some nasty bushes were a bit unneccessary. Lots of junk around the area makes it look a bit messy but the history of the place I think makes up a bit for it.

Found with frebbles. Interesting spot, had been there once before on a uni field trip to check out the fossils etc. Shame the area is a bit messy. Was a nice easy find. A bit prickly on the way in, but went out a better way. TNLN
I definitely approached this from the wrong direction and made it harder for myself than it should have been. But, despite the scratches on my legs, I'm glad I did. What a fascinating place to explore. And it was interesting to see where the bricks for our backyard paving came from. TNLN TFTC
I decided today would be a good day to cycle around the lake, but I overdid it a bit. I'm sunburnt and have some very sore anatomy! This was the 3rd of my 15 finds today, out of 24 caches attempted.
Yay! a find after a fair bit of frustration so far. A nice straightforward trek, thankfully deserted of both muggles and reptiles.

Found with Sumbloke - our second cache of seven planned for the day. Being a geovirgin, Sumbloke learned all about thorny bushes with this cache. He saw a snake too. This cache took a while longer to find than the first - we were out of there as quick as we could after logging and hiding the cache again. The brickworks was kewl - didn't know it was there.

Tricky to get to and watch out for snakes as well as thorns. Second find of the day with SW2092 on my first day out.
14th of 28 caches for the day. It was a bit of a change having a flat walk through the bush, as opposed to a climb up a hill. Cache was found nice and easily. No swap was made. Thanks for the cache.
Decided today was a good day to hit the double figures for caching, so took the geowife, geofetus and geodog on a bit of a drive around Canberra. This was our 1st hit for the day, took the hard way in, but once at GZ found the cache just about in the open. After swaps, I put it back, but gave it a bit more of a cover.

The seventh of my eight cache finds for today. I wasn't originally planning on going for this one, but I ended up in the area, so went after it.
Talk about getting lost in surburbia. That place is a rabbit warren! Having parked close to the big brick smokestack, I walked almost all the way around the area to find the GZ. Didn't even know all that was in there.

Third of twenty-three caches on my one day ACT assault. The cache was found at 10:12. My Tom Tom navigator got me to the prescribed parking spot and I made my way to the cache where I soon had it in hand. I was amused by the amount of bricks holding the tin down on the shed roof. I dropped off the USA Geocoin-Blacksheep. Thanks The S's for showing me this piece of history.
Found the cache at 11am. Very intrest about the history. Thank you for bring me to be there. no swap. Thank you for organise the cache and hunt.

Shadow! and I began this cache some months ago, but as we were approaching the general area, the thousands trekking there for some Governor General's concert made us abandon it... until today!
Typically silly, we unintentionally ignored the parking advice and ended up going bush for this one... not something I would necessarily recommend, but it did allow us to find an "underground" area built nearby - quite a surprising find! (I'll attach a picture for it)
Took: nuffin
Left: 2 Christmas monsters
TFTC, a good sized container that could handle some big exchanges! The cache was a little damp, but nothing too sinister. If the next visitor takes a cloth to dry the condensation out, it'll be fine.

Found it with Geokid. Interesting spot. There was some water in it which we emptied out, might need a good dry out. TNLN. Thank you !
Could do with a drying out, the lid must have been left loose and the rain has got in to it.
A nice easy find, even in the pouring rain! The smells were good although it's a pity that people have been using this area as a dumping ground for their rubbish. Took some of it away with me but couldn't carry half as much as what was there. TNLNSL
No.6 for the day - I wasn't planning to do this one, but squeezed it in so I could grab The Ball TB & 'kick' it back to the north side (via Biggles303). Otherwise TNLNSL. TFTC - this is close to the biggest cache container yet (although I think Tailor's Torment is bigger) - certainly the most visible - but I suppose it is pretty much off the beaten track. I was really excited to also see an unusual wallaby (black/rock?) along the way, plus a cat with bell.

Our first find for our Trip to Canberra, came down South for a 21st birthday party, and thought we might find a bit of time to cache. Had a few prickly bushes to get through, got the cache and scooted back to the forby. TNLN thanks heaps.
Had nothing much to do today.... Recovering from a major hang over. Dragged one of my side kicks along to show him the world of geocaching. Great walk, even with a hang over it is still an easy walk.

The most painful cache I have ever visited - don't ever ever try this one with bare feet - as I did. Cycled to within 30 metres, stopped in the middle of a clearing, the ground thickly covered in dead thorns (blackberrys?). Took about half an hour longer to find the cache than it would have taken with decent shoes. Left nothing, took nothing (except thorns in feet and other places), signed log. Thanks, S's (I'm assuming the thorns aren't your fault).

Thanks for taking us to yet another interesting location that we would never have found without caching! We are happy to report that we had no problems with either dragons or bushfires. There was quite a bit of prickle activity, but that's standard for the Tassie caches we are used to!! Loved the contents of the cache - very clever, so we are taking one to Tassie with us. There was water in the bottom of the cache, but fortunately most of the contents were waterproof. We took the mobile phone charge (thanks we needed another of these) and left our most extravagant swap (its hard to be green frog magnet). Emptied the water out and bagged the koala, although he was still a little soggy. Log book is fine. Thanks S's.
Well how do we start with this one. This cache ended up turning into a bit of a nightmare, especially nearly giving Thyla a heart attack, and her breaking down in tears afterwards.
It started off good, parked the car in a spot which we thought was good. Headed off, noticed smoke coming from the nearby brickworks. Thylo makes the comment, oh it must still be in use. Trying to find a way to the cache. Fence in the way, still over 150mtrs showing to the cache.
Off we go for a walk in the bush. Too many blackberry bushes for Thyla, she headed back to a nice spot to sit in the shade to wait for Thylo.
Sitting noticing helicopters buzzing overhead, a firefighter comes rushing up to Thyla to say you need to get out of the area asap there is a fire.
Thyla tries to ring Thylo on his mobile phone after several attempts while going back to the car, notices he does not have his phone with him.
Screaming at the top of her lungs finally gets contact with Thylo.
Meanwhile Thylo made it to GZ, GPS reading 0.00 dead on, searching for the cache, then noticing Heavy smoke, Time to get out of there and in a hurry.
After a tearful reunion, back to the car and out of the area.
Sorry to say we did not find the cache, And we hope that the cache did survive the fire.
We were sad to hear the next day that homes were lost in the fire.
We have attached a photo taken from Telstra Tower about 45 minutes later, once the fire was undercontrol.
We got more than we bargined for with this one.
Thanks, this gave us a bit of a wake up call, and with bush caches we are now taking walkie talkies with us.

No 2 son (Sam, nearly 8 months) and I had some free time this afternoon so what better way to spend some quality time and seek out Building Blocks. Unfortunately, it wasn't really child friendly and we had to abandon the stroller at about 40m from GZ. He wasn't happy as we clambered through the scrub onto GZ. Found cache fairly quickly but couldn't write up the log with arms full. Sorry about that. Thanks for the cache, often see the chimney from Glenloch interchange.

This would have been a difficult find if the blackberries had not been sprayed in the area. As with other finders w had never known of the brickworks in the area.
For some reason the GPS was playing up and led us 40m out. I had no idea this place was here. Nice spot. Also glad we didn't have to climb another hill for a cache. Loved the blocks.

Could've been a prickly approach without the recent slashing. My 5 year-old assistant was fascinated by the broken half bricks with CANB or RRA stamped in them. Nice easy start to a Sunday afternoon caching. Took electric bracelet, left bag of marbles and US quarter. Thanks S's!
Like ThomasS I too felt a bit of deja vu here. Luckily this was at the other end. Although I saw the hiding spot early on but dismissed it without investigating. Do'h. About 10 mins later I remembered and went back. Left the traveller "Dubbo Duck".t
Found it, but we must have come in from the wrong way, it's a jungle in there!. Did get some funny looks from some cops wondering around actually inside the brickyard but no problems as we were outside. Left a party popper for the next 'block party', took the rubber ball for geokid.
A nice ride in the woods indeed. I knew the way in for riding the MTB all the way in. MTB tracks everywhere, and a MTB adventure track too.
Took 1 yellow building block, left 1 rubbery building block. (ie a box shaped eraser). Why did I leave this?
Bridges (nearly all) & some buildings have a rubber block under them to isolate noise, vibrations and to allow movements, especially the vigorous shaking from earthquakes. Hence, a rubber building block fits in well with this theme.

Then, it was off on the MTB tracks & a long Cooeee around the place and out of there.
It's a bit sad that this place hasn't be revived. I think there was a craft/studio area here in the 70's,; odd that the govt. leaves it idle. Still, a fine place for a cache! T:building block, L:ball. Thanks, Ss.
Excellent spot - found by BiancaS, TillyS, SueS and ThomasS. Beautiful morning, and a lovely walk in the forest! We decided to do this the long way, but that was on purpose, otherwise the dog would have complained. Besides, we saw a lot more of the Brickyards this way! I was here exactly 2 years and 1 month ago when I found a cache only 29m away from this one! Mind you that was somewhat harder, but is gone now. Seems there has been some clearing done since then – I hope they’re not planning to develop here. Took Red Royal Mail Van travel bug, left some small blocks! Thanks S’s for the lovely walk, fresh air and exercise!
First to log but not the FTF. I'm sure I didn't approach this from the correct direction as it involved crawling through holes in 2 fences. I met a local near the cache area. After I'd returned to the car and left, I saw him again approaching me on the road. This confirmed that there must have been another, probably easier way to get to GZ. Meant to take a building block but discovered I hadn't after I'd hidden the cache again so took nil. Left T. Bug Red Royal Mail Van. TFTC.
Pretty handy having a cache put out just up the road from the course I had to attend today so it was a quick detour nabbed the cache then set off to see if I could break something.
Had no blocks only DVDs and CDs in the swap bag and none of them related to blocks, so TNLN.
