Out and about again, another long day travelling to find some caches, lots of km with not huge numbers though. Had to be back in time to make pickup from the airport.

Found a variety of hides and in different areas which made for a nice day. Generally quick finds today

Thanks to all the CO’s for the hides I found.

Found this with 3699 days since last log. B12 was very excited to have this found.
Cache is there and covered, the items in the cache are not so good. Signed the lid of the container and then made our way back to the car to put some more KMs on it.

Well she’s still there. 3799 days since it was last found and 3796 days since archival.

As to be expected she’s in terrible shape. The container has basically completely perished the the books are disintegrating. We signed the inside of the containers lid as it’s the only thing that will last the next few years out here. Photos attached in gallery.

A great drive from Cue to Perth to end our short getaway. We left early to get into Magnet early to climb to the cache at the top of the hill before it got too hot and made good time back to Perth.

A great day out. Thanks to the local COs for their caches.

Have decided its time to archive this one. It was adopted by us sometime ago and has always been in a state of disrepair. As we dont travel this way and it has had several Maintenance Requests..... it's time to go...... Bibra Liophile.... Sad

09-Oct-12
Had to shoo away a hopping local to get to the cache. Badly perished and books are being read by the roaches. Needs some TLC.

28-Apr-12
this cache needs a new container the original has just got part of the lid left looks like the sun has taken its toll.

26-Apr-12

18-Jul-11
Lovely walk after heavy rain. Books slightly damp. TFTC TNLN

16-Apr-11
Another find on the way home up north. Container is desperate need of replacing and nearly non-existent because it is so brittle.
Left a novel that the mother in law gave us - 'Alva'. Took nothing.

Hmmmm we just plain and simple missed this one. Next time.

29-Sep-10
Nice cache, but yes, can't really call that a box anymore. Took 2 kids books and left The History of Flight Centre Ltd.

21-Jul-10

09-Jul-10

09-Jul-10

01-Jul-10
found it. Will try and bring a new container for it on my way through to perth next Smile the new fence means that the walk is a bit longer.

01-Jul-10
Found it.

01-Jul-10
Good cache. I think there is a new fence there that means you have to park about 50m from road edge and walk the rest of the way. Cache need maintenance,

wow what a big quartz boulders!
Thanks for breaking up the long road with some this cache you place along the route.
We found this one on our 10 days 4000Km trip from Nannup through the goldfields and wheat belt, with our goal to find to oldest (6 years) awaiting ftf cache in WA: Nichols knob

We enjoyed the walk to gz and checked out the different rocks on the way in. We took along some plastic bags and put the undamaged books in the bags and then put them in a cloth bag and then inside what was left of the container. We changed the heavy rocks used previously to flat lighter ones that hide the cache very well. Could the next geocacher attending please bring along a very large rectangular container to place the books in. Thanks BibraBoys - Adopted by The Hallows

Looked like interesting countryside round here but we missed the cache. To ease the boredom we were singing away to Olivia Newton John's 'Let me be there' and sailed right on by! Oh well, we didn't have a book swap anyway so it's on the list for next time.

18-Jul-09
A bit of a dismal wet day but an exciting first find with TheGallaghers! Needs a little TLC only magazines left which were a bit waterlogged. Our friends left some great books.

18-Jul-09
[After a bit of a muddy walk we found the cache but unfortunately realised that water had gotten the better of the cache and pretty much, all that was left for trading was useless magazines and spoiled out of date journals. We did leave our books so hopefully this motivates others to swap like for like]

This may appear as multiple posts (tried to log it on my iPhone but it hasn't appeared after 7hrs)

This is my first cache find. I was listening to a geocaching podcast (Geotalk) and on a whim decided to download an app I found, to my iPhone. 45km down the road was the most convenient cache and as I was driving a triple roadtrain I couldn't really go driving off in the bush.
It was a great feeling finding the cache and I think that maybe I might be starting to understand the attraction of geocaching.
I'm definately keen to seek out more caches and hope I can find the time to look for them in between delivering freight to remote minesites.

Found this on a wet & windy day. Unfortunately I didn't read the details for all the caches before we left, and so I didn't have a replacement box with me - it needs a big one...

The contents weren't really too bad. There seemed to be a lot of magazines, I didn't really go through it all. Signed the log sheet and headed back to the car - to the heater...

Thanks for the cache!

Bibra Liophile was transferred from BibraBoys to user The Hallows.
Have adopted this one just to keep it alive. I realise it is in need of maintenance - if anyone travelling by has a spare container that they could carry out repairs with it would be much appreciated.
If it is not possible I'll eventually need to archive this one - but for now - let's see how it goes!

20-Sep-08
I have decided to close down all my caches and wind back my geocaching activities (my life is sufficiently busy enough!). So I am posting this note to all my caches with the following offer:

1. Someone can offer to take ownership of the location, cache container etc. You can keep the name or rename it - thats up to you. Just email me to confirm.

2. Some of you may have wanted this location and have a better idea for it. So you would prefer I archive the site and deal with it accordingly. Again, let me know so I can archive it ASAP.

3. Some of my caches are unique and on-going maintenance for a "caretaker" would prove difficult. Im fairly sure I know which ones fit this bill, so no doubt I will simply archive these. But feel free to request I don't and take ownership of them.

I will look at having all caches of my list by the end of October 2008 - so make sure you let me know asap. Any caches needing maintenance as at today will be dealt with first ie archived sooner rather than later.

I dont really want to leave the container and contents to rot in the bush. If anyone wants to grab the container and contents and use for their own devices - go for your life. Just email me to let me know. I'm not sure what I would do with a box full of trinkets (except perhaps the bin?), so it would make me happy if they could be moved to other caches.

Those outside the metro area will be harder to retrieve in the short term, so I request that the next few visitors remove and keep the contents, email me etc so I can shut the cache down.

Please move on all TBs ASAP. I wont archive any caches where TBs still remain.

I will continue to let my own TBs circulate and this will likely be the limit of my participation.

Thanks to all for your support of my caches. Its been fun!

Bibra Boys.

Found on our way back to Perth after visiting the Carnarvon Range. The cache was wet and the log sheet was a bit damp one end. The cache container is in pieces and needs to be replaced if anyone can help. I did not read any logs before we left so I am sorry we did not go prepared.

Found this one after jumping a fence. The box was broken and unfortunatly didn't have anything to replace it with. Easily found especially with 6 geokids all looking it.

This cache gave us a good reason to stop on the road north. We had to park near the H'way as there is now a fence blocking vehicular access. Walked in about 300m. Also saw some recent footprints, perhaps from another geocacher? Left Bribie Island (Qld) book. TN. TFTC.

another stop from driving to stretch the legs, climbed over a new fence easily and walked the 300 mtrs to the cache cheers silent 1

This is a very good idea for a cache. Worth while swaps here for any long drive.

Got this one on my way across to Leinster for work. It was hot, probably 35 degrees with lots of freindly flies around.

The Cache is in need of some repairs as the container is falling apart. Could the next person that goes to this cache bring a new container. A metal one would be better to survive the sun. Diamensions approx 400 x 300 x 100mm

Visited on our way back to Perth. The container is huge so not the sort of thing we would carry as a spare to help out.
We did what we could to make sure it was OK but its very fragile.
There is a fence across the access so the cache may need relocating in the future. We had to walk the 600m or so (not exactly sure of the distance but it was a good stretch of the legs). Great concept for a cache and its well stocked for the traveler.
We had no problems finding the cache but we did use the hint as we thought we had walked far enough already. We think the coords must be pretty close so no need to change them until you check it out yourself.

Sorry we couldnt help out

Goosey tells me co-ords are out? Not sure if that is correct as no-one has mentioned it....in fact I got a "good co-ords" log fropm 3 Blind Eyes! Perhaps Goosey did a typo (cmon Dad I know the eyes are getting old!)

Anyway...seems a fence has been erected and the track is dug up. Im that way in July so I will check it out and update the description if need be.

Easy find after a nice leg stretch. TFC TNLN

Thanks for worrying about me Dave Smile Yes I did make it without any dramas! Did about 5,600 Kms all up! I'm back from my Mt Isa trip now, and I'm finally getting around to logging the caches I did along the way. I did about a dozen all up. I had a great time on that trip. Regards, Mal

05-Aug-06
On the way home from a week working at Newman. With so much rain (and no co-ords in GPSr) the track in was overgrown with grass so I missed in the first time. Knew what to look for - it was just a matter of stumbling upon it (which I did eventually).

I had a hunch this cache had been visited more times that recorded...and this proved correct! Mal (3BlindEyes) was the last visitor in early July on his way to QLD - there is no log so maybe he didnt make (Mal, Mal...you there??)

Saw about 60 goats on the walk in...they scaled the fence with a "twing, twang, ping" as the wire strained under the stampede.

Cache was in good condition - which was great news. Its been hidden now a full year and therefore subject to all adverse weather conditions. The weight of the rocks had sagged the lid, so I placed a number of rocks on the edges to keep the lid down firm. Also tried to cover it as much as possible to shade it from the impending summer sun.

Happy reading!

PS: I was the 6th visitor..I think there have been 4 logs.

On my way to Mt Isa in Queensland, so dropped in as I was driving by. Was dark when I got here and I didn't have a torch, so I parked the 4WD 80 metres away and used the headlights to find the cache. Good co-ordinates, so an easy find at 8:20pm. Had to use the light of my PDA to write the log. TN-LN-SL. Thanks for the break from driving Bibraboys.

Was travelling from Big Bell to Sandstone on an extremely wet miserable Easter Sunday and took a detour from the route we were travelling to pick up this cache. Glad I did I think the book cache is a great idea and this is the first one I have come across. Good spot too, definately breaks up a journey nicely. Took Great Aust Mystery's Book. Left Beaut South Book travel book and playing cards (thought reading might not be everyones cup of tea)

25-Nov-05
Dropped in on cache to see if there was anything decent to read. Nothing in there for me but the travel bug.

Thanks
