This geocache was brought to my attention as being in need of an owner maintenance visit. The cache owner needs to check on this cache ASAP and either replace it or archive it, after picking up any geo-litter. See the [maintenance section of the Geocache Listing Requirements/Guidelines](http://www.geocaching.com/about/guidelines.aspx#listingmaintenance).

I've added this cache to my watchlist, and I will check back in four weeks to be sure that the maintenance has been done. In the meantime, I have temporarily disabled this listing. When the maintenance is completed, the owner can enable the listing by clicking on the link below the cache name to return it to active status.

Whatever your intentions, please **post a note** here on the cache page (not email) to let us know that you are still active and maintaining the cache.

If you plan on repairing this cache, please log a note to the cache (not email) within the next 30 days so I don't archive the listing for non-communication.

An amazing drive up to the look out not much to see as there was too much cloud. However without much hope after many DNFs we looked anyway with no luck. Caution for the position ivy geoson doyens unhappily

Sad Well the drive was well worth the effort, for the views went on for ever...Top spot could see Liddell Power Stations Wink (Not from GZ but a little to the north at little lookout )
At GZ this area was fairly well searched with a disappointing result Sad near the old trig. Oh!Well that's caching! Thanks Team yota.

Once again another spot I never knew existed. Put me on edge a bit when starting the search and ended up a few metres away from a slithery friend sunning itself. Thanks for bringing me here and TFTC

Found during an off-roading/camping trip with my Service Dog Smile after a few false starts into the scrub, I found a much more accessible path to GZ and voila! All three TBs are present, I took two to continue their journey and left one for someone else Smile TFTC

Well, this is (was) my oldest still active DNF. 11 years ago (tomorrow) I came here during my first week of geocaching, hoping for my very first FTF. I came up empty handed, not even getting to see the view due to rain and fog.

11 years later and I am back again, still raining, still foggy, still no view... but the cache was very easily found.

I was with a large group of friends on a camping trip. They all know that I am a caching addict, so many conversations were had about my cache blindness. Let's just blame the fact that I was very much a novice!

Thanks for the cache, and for the ability to knock it off of my DNF list all of these years later!

Cheers

An adventure into the Barringtons and surrounds with the entire family today. We had lunch at the picnic area near Lagoon Pinch and then went for a swim at Ladies Wells. Brrr indeed!

We took the 2wd accessible road all the way to the top. Only one point where a 2wd would struggle - there's a rut around a fallen tree about 2.5km drive from the cache. Lee must have gone the much harder way before me Smile

I scored a free rash near GZ from some stinging nettle - ouch! Quick find thanks to Lee's log, and the reduced cover! Cache and log in good condition. This was cache #2250 for me. TNLN TFTC

What a day.... a 'venture drive as put by young Oliver, 3.....

We set off for Brrr today, for two purposes, a good day out and a forest drive, and a 'Head in the clouds' badge! Weren't our head in the clouds by the end!

As is usually the case, my 25k topo maps didn't actually extend far enough to show us the way, so had to depend on GC/Google maps, which sort of led us astray.... it seemed to show we needed to transit past Ally's cache on the way, so we set it as a WP and set off into the bush, but when it got further and further away, we turned back, then eventually found ourselves looking at a decidely overgrown track that I wouldn't try with a 70's landcruiser whose duco I cared nought about....

Asking advice from a couple of campers didn't really help, and we found ourselves up a very steep hill, and quite ready to call it quits. Given we still had a lot of spare daylight, and the weather was holding, I pulled out the Garmin (should have done as step #1), and saw quite clearly the initial road we were on was right.... so off we backtracked.

Once we were on the right road (maybe the odd sign would have helped?) we climbed Mt Allyn with no problem, and found the carpark and GZ with no problem. The road up is a pretty rough surface gravel track, would be fine for 2wd (maybe an old 2wd!).

I couldn't make the hint make (as I had remembered it wrong!) sense, even though we couldn't see the powerstation I knew it was to the southwest, and the cache was nowhere to be seen.... After 10 minutes searching I was starting to contemplate this might be a DNF, after a 6 hour trip and 3 wrong turns.... We sat and waited for the Garmin to get sorted, then widened the search around the concrete trig (?), to my relief spotting the cache in behind some rocks, the buildup of leaf around her proves she isn't found often, such a shame for this awesome spot.....

If you are in a complete whiteout (as we were), the power-station would normally be found to the SW of the Mt Allyn Lookout....

Cache contents slightly damp, but in pretty good condition, thanks to the great container.... we left an aluminium whistle, and took nothing (we did not leave the tampon!)

Thanks for a great cache, and an even better day out with my two sons.....

We had a nice drive up to the National Park, we did a scary water crossing on a causeway on the way. Dad was about ready to bail out after two wrong turns, then my brother got very scared at the cache! We had a very fun time doing this cache, thanks very much....

#4233

TeamSenz and ourselves decided to go for a drive and grab some caches. We are trying to get some higher altitude caches for a challange cache in the watagans, and this one was on the list.

It was a pleasent drive winding our way up the mountain to a location with awesome views. Aaron and Mr C left the girls in the car and went for the short walk to the top of the hill found the cache.

Wow, what a ride. Glad I wasn't driving! Talk about slip sliding away! And it hadn't even rained yet.
Cookie was 'packing it', but it seems it was just a branch caught up under the car, and not the gearbox (this time). Quite cool up there, and it took us about half an hour (in the dark) to find the LOVELY ammo tin.
Left a bird whistle that I found close to the cache.

Was running to get to this one from the carpark as the GPS was beeping at me and was just about to cut out (loss of battery) whyen we reached to GZ. Was a little hard to find and was mistaken for a rock a couple of times with all the rust that has grown on container. TFTC

Kembla and I made this find much harder than it really was.
We tentatively felt our way around the concrete structure per Kembla's log warning of a snake in the area only to find that the cache was not that far into the bushes.
Kembla grabbed the TB to be placed in a new place.
Nice views and not so cold.

We drove up to this lookout at the evening of our camping in Chichester State Forest. We searched everywhere we thought would be a possible hideout according to the clues and previous logs, but to no avail.

Enjoyed a nice drive up the hill with the HAVOC crew to this cache. Big Matt was quite impressed at how well the 2WDs were doing until we told him they were 4WDs and it was only him with the trailer in tow that was struggling. The views at the top were quite spectacular despite the clouds below and I *recommend* this cache to anyone.

Thanks.

Found this whilst attending the HAVOC at Barrington Event. After camping at Frying Pan in the Chichester State Forest we broke cam and headed to the Upper Allyn.

After finding Ally's cache we headed up to this cache. The weather was not great and the roads we but with a convoy of 4WD's we headed upwards.

In the lower sections of the climb it was pouring with rain. However we continued the climb and eventually got above the clouds and out of the rain.

In the final stage of the road there was a small landslide that had been cleared thankfully as it would have been quite a feat reversing four vehicle back down the road. It appears to be a regular occurrence as there is a permanent sign on the gate.

At the top of the mountain the weather was very pleasant. No rain and when the sun came out it was quite warm. Easy to see that in winter it would be covered in snow. The GPS told me that we were at 1125m above sea level. Easily the highest cache I have ever found. Unfortunately all the valleys were shrouded in cloud cover reducing what would have been a magnificent view.

Thanks Team Yota.

TB Visited: Jumbuck Finger
Cache Status: Good Condition

Report: A big group of HAVOC Cachers on the Camping event made the grab today. Lucky Id left my 2WD ute behind as even the Fourby's had to take it slow in some patches on the way up from Ally's Cache. We punched through the rain clouds but unfortunately at the top the mist obscured what Im sure would be an amazing view! Still, while a few of argued over if the concrete thing nearby was a Trig or Not... (it was Not Razz) Pprass made the find and handed the impressive can around. I left my swaps in the car unfortunately but wished I could have left something behind in this cool cache. Great effort... not Brrr at all today, but was sad to miss the view Sad

Found at 11.30am GAFF1 in the company of the Barrington Tops event crowd. A lovely drive going up over a thousand metres through rain forest and low cloud. Heavy rain at times, but it was warm and the crowd was in good spirits and so the time taken to get there was hardly noticeable. We tried a more direct approach from Ally's Cache to start with, but it turned out to be a dead end, so we went the more traditional long way.
A quick find and then it was back to lower grounds for the last cache of the 3.
Thanks Team yota.

Our 4654th overall find.

What a drive this one turned out to be. We took a bit to find the right track but the track just seems to keep climbing and climbing and a bit more for good measure! I got a bit nervous on the last stages but we got up to the car park and then all of us were out heading up to the GZ. pprass made the find in the end and we would have loved the view if it wasn't for the clouds!

Thanks to Team Yota for the cache. *Overall Experience: 4* http://wiki.geocaching.com.au/wiki/Rating

I found this cache on a long weekend caching and camping spree. Took a while to find the right road up to the lookout. But then a short walk from the car park to GZ. Took a while to find the cache but finally found it. A cool container. No muggles. No view. Very foggy. On the way out we got a flat tyre which was hard to change.

1 of 2 found today. Have been eyeing this one off for a very long time and decided to bring some first timers along for the ride. Spent a good 20 minutes looking for the bugger but got there eventually. Had to bail out really quick after logging due to incoming storm and stomach grumbles for lunch.

T: Compass Carabeena
L: WhizKidz Signature Item - Pirelli Tyre depth gauge.

Thanks for bringing us to this awesome little spot.

Found the cache while in the area for a search exercise with Polic Rescue Squad, VRA, RFS, SES. Initially TNLN but had to pick up a patch for one of the little buds who is crazy about emergency sevices, so deposited a new key chain compass/thermometer for a swap on the Sunday.

Was not cold there on the weekend, very nice weather in fact.

...the target of the search VH-MDX, a Cessna lost 20 years ago, was once again not found.

Thanks for the cache!

I have been up here several times previously, as recently as around 3 months ago, but never knew there was a geocache here! Co-ords were spot on for me. Interestingly you can see roughly where I put my most recent cache on Mt Royal from here, although it was 11.1km distant. Surprised that so few have logged this cache. TNLNSL. TFTH.

A day of firsts. 1st- 1st find, son’s first bush BBQ too. We walked up from the small BBQ area until the GPS said we were 20m from the cache only to be faced with a cliff. Then figured that there must be another way. Took some finding, but we got it. It would have a spectacular view if we weren’t in the middle of a cloud the whole day.

Grabbed the travel bug, left a bubble blower.

I was in the area on Sunday and had a poke around. I couldn't spot a thing! It was pouring rain and very foggy and so I even missed out on the view Sad
