Woohoo - woohoo! Finally completed this one after a huge amount of effort on this one. I am going to use it for Rambler's Reward (GC2XBA7). I completed this up to WP 8 the first time I attempted it, but couldn't crack the code so left it for another day. After multiple attempts, I used PAF but it was a while before I was able to obtain accurate information. Finally today (after several unsuccessful attempts looking around up the top of the Mount, I had the correct coordinates and we went tried a couple of tracks, and eventually found the right one - yay! Hint - not far off the Waikorire track. I really enjoyed the first day of following up the waypoints, but found the last bit quite frustrating. Happy to help others who are struggling as the CO is no longer caching
We got to waypoint 2, but when looking for the moya co-ords seemed like it may have been removed in the new place making and wayfinding project.
We were over at the Maunga today and decided to commence this cache. Yes, it certainly zigs and zags around the Mount, and we got up to WP 8 before deciding that we would leave the second trip to the top for another day. Lots of fun today - just have to decipher the code before our next trip over to the Maunga to complete this Multi.
This has taken us multiple trips to execute, found it today while picking up some other caches in the area as had made the final solve last night. The clue wasn’t too helpful as quite overgrown, but persevered and found by mistake! Thanks for the treks and the adventure!
It’s taken me several days to get to the sailors friend. Then the coords are sending me back to the top!?? Why? The wps could have been linked to only climb once. I’m too tired for the last climb back to the top. Maybe another time or maybe never.
Yes!! We made it!! What a cool cache!! We spent about 5 hours in total on the Mount, walking up and down between waypoints, finding other caches along the path, walking back, then ahead again... Chuffed to get to the final!! TFTC!!
So we spent 4 hours yesterday zig zagging up and down and around the Mount and then at 7pm we had all our clues. We set out today and it wasn 't lo g before we had our hands on the cache. TFTC
We started this late last night on board our ship. Deciphered the code and guessed a few way points, including a few wrong ones. Picked up enough way points today to confirm the correct gz coordinates. So many muggles on the way up but very few around gz. Nice to find a good sized cache container. Thanks for bringing us back up this beautiful mountain. TFTC
On a caching adventure for the weekend with rebel98
A couple of years ago was in town on another geo adventure, and was able to collect the required information from the various waypoints.
Then I must have sat down and solved the puzzle component, and eventually had some co-ords that seem to be right, but with no checker could not be sure.
When I knew we were coming back, I got in contact with a previous finder who kindly confirmed I was in the right place (thanks for that), and so today a must find for us.
Found an entrance to the hidden spot, and after a short distance was at GZ retrieving the cache. Love the cache guardians, I have a similar pair at home
Log signed, this mission complete and now I can file the paperwork to this one in the found it pile. Thanks JFBNZ for this multi and the hide.

This has taken me quite a long time to finalise. I had done a couple of trips up and around over the last few months gathering info required. Been meaning to get up here to complete final sign off but haven’t been that motivated. Got up here today for a new cache and was able to finish 5his as well. All is good here. Many thanks for bringing me back up again. Cheers
I have been wanting to find this multi for some time now, but the name of it alone sounded like it was going to be a fairly lengthy and sweaty process, and I never really had the time to put that effort in. Back in March I had teamed up with Cats&Dragons and while over this way we put the effort in and gave this multi ago.
We made good progress with the waypoints until #5 which put us in places that didn't make sense, so we decided to give up at that point. However a little while later we realized that this is an old multi and that the WP's might have changed a bit. Using this logic and adjusting our count we got the numbers working again and continued with the waypoints. But it wasn't long until we got stuck again, but a little clue in the WP hint and our now great knowledge of what's on the mountain, we had a good idea where we needed to be and sure enough the numbers worked there.
Now with all the WPs complete we moved onto the final, and after a lot of brain power we managed to crack the code and decipher the message, and get some likely co-ords. However as it had been a long day something didn't look right when we neared GZ and with 20m to go guessed we had made an error somewhere with our calculations and gave up for another day.
Once back I home I realized what our mistake had been and it wasn't with the maths, just that this is an old multi hence would of been set up differently than today on the GC.com, and since then this cache has bugged me that we didn't finish it. Today however I was hoping to change that fact and set of again to zig zag the mount. Well not as much as the last time I was here. Once at GZ though it took a bit of a hunt to find the right spot but once there the cache was quickly spotted.
Thanks for the awesome multi, I really enjoyed it.

I was in need of a quick(ish) find to keep a streak going. Solved WP#1 two days ago and then solved the (none too difficult) cipher. This gave me Ranui, Moya and some other information. Two possibilities presented themselves but one was highly unlikely. So, tramped up to GZ tonight. Of course, I chose the route with the most bush-bashing and was close to the edge, doubting myself and nearly giving up when I made the find. Woohoo! Great cache (even if I didn't do all the legwork). I love working off minimal data! TFTC.
We have done this over a couple of visits to the Mount. Today was a spectacular day up the Mount we did the Earthcache up the top and had a well earned rest watching the gliders take off from the top. Once we had recovered from our climb up the Mount we made our way down to GZ for a quick find cache in good condition.

This cache has been a long project. I have chipped away at it off and on for weeks. I did the hard yards going to every waypoint. I still don't know how this multi could be short cutted. Needless to say I know the Mount intimately with 3 trips to the top up the stairs- and although I have been told several times "its not a race" I always get satisfaction from passing younger "pilgrims". After reaching the second to last coordinates I headed home to do my manual deciphering to get the final coordinates. Today was finally the day to see if all my plotting had paid off. I set off up the stairs again and found an overgrown path - so overgrown that I turned back, but after exploring other options decided to look further. Funny how you start to look for Mother and Teenagers before you get close to the coordinates because you don't trust your calculations!! I perservered and pushed further and further into the Manuka until I arrived at the coordinates and what do you know - there was the cache. Thank goodness for that!!!!. Thanks for the exercise. So glad to finish this one. Thanks for setting up this multi.
Did this the hard way but split the load into three visits ...enjoyed the zig zag around the base but the up and down I found a bit mindless ...never the less it was solved found and signed a clever placement but a long arduous trek to collect thanks for the cache
I made a plan to come to the mount to do some caching while poor geo-pup was at the vets getting a delicate procedure done . It was weird being on my own but I had a great day. I knew that I probably wouldn't have enough time (3.5 hrs) to collect the 10 or so caches around the hill so I cheated and done a fair bit of homework on this one. It was a fun challenge though, and luckily the guesswork paid off and I managed to find it no problem. I didn't really get the hint though, it was just my luck that the cache was a bit obvious, as I wasn't going to look too hard, not being 100% sure I was at the right place. Tried to leave it a bit more covered in leaf litter. Very nicely put together multi, thanks for setting it up!
2.35pm - We were trying to complete most caches on the Mount today, this was one of them also needed a 6 kilometer plus walk for our licence challenge we are doing so it was up, over, down and back around to complete. This cache took us awhile to get all the answers. Found over grown track but cache was in good condition. SLTFTC
Dot Day... And the first official day of the school holidays for me... Woohoo!! Gap (of Fap and Gap) and I was determined to clear off a few more Mount Maunganui caches... We didn't have a lot of early success, but the situation improved as the day progressed.
Our target for today was Mauao... Gap and I have a few caches to visit between us. Our walk would take us up to the top of the mountain, with a variety of diversions for cache hunts. Then back to the base track for a complete circuit... A walk of 6+ kilometres.
I can't believe how long its taken to complete this multi. Each time we've come to Mauao, we've chipped away at it... We were recently working through one of the last waypoint clues and a conversation about this cache ensued with another cacher. We mentioned the coded message and were given a bit of help from that point. Everything fell into place thereafter... It took us a while to find this overgrown track. We actually found this in reverse. It was only when we looked back, the cache was spotted. It's a relief to finally put this one to rest. TFTC.

After solving most of this from my lounge chair, I had the chance to get back up the hill today to deal to another couple of newer caches, so it made sense to make the climb to this one too.
Got to the trailhead and if it wasnt for NZFlossy being with us I probably wouldnt have found the little overgrown goat track into GZ. The rest was easy.
Thanks for bringing me up here again and the walk around Mt Manganui.

After solving the new Puzzle cache Magnificent 7 a group of us split of to find the caches nearly the top of the Mt so off we hiked and what a beautiful day for it,
Have to be honest with this one and say I didnt do any of the work in the Multi and was with TNX and the group when we went to claim the find lucky TNX had done all the work and Flossy had found it before so was a quick find and name on the log book so will count it cheers for the cache

After successfully completing the Magnificent 7 find our group dwindled down and became the fabulous five. We had planned a trip to the Mount for next weekend to clean up all the unfound caches on the mount but as we were here we decided to tag along with the others as we made our way down from the top. Luckily NZFlossy was with us and acted as our guide through the tunnel of shrubs that lead us to the final. Great place for a hide it will never be smuggled TFTC.
Just trying to think about what I was up too in 2005? Discovering geocaching would still have been 9 years away for me. Well where to start on this one? I struggled - WP were all good but google maps and a Staedtler compass were not really accurate enough on this one. The hint provided no help for us but a hunch and my new lucky caching shoes came through. We were bush bashing a little then I spotted the very corner of something not quite right.
Cache was nice and full and all the contents were dry - A long time since I've seen one of these containers, its all sistema these days. Cheers JFBNZ - a lot of work into this one and I see you regularly maintain it too - a great cache & CO. A well deserved fave.

Supper stoked to finally grab this one. Been up here looking for it a few times and always disappointed to leave it unfound. Today tried approaching the gz from a different direction and there it was. Tftc
This was last found 7 months ago, so we were a bit hesitant about it. This was really tough, and we had lots of troubles with some of the clues - especially at Waypoint 6. So had to do some calculated guesswork.
Solved the code at home and did plenty of research. Eventually tackled the mount on a very windy and wet day. We walked all over the place (also trying to get some of the other mount caches). To calculate the final required some work back at home using some online tools, and though my results looked a bit sketchy, I've walked the mount enough times to have a good idea of how to get to the final GZ.
We eventually made it and found the cache! Very well stocked - but to the previous logger there is no Cat trackable there anymore. We then headed off, and in my attempt to shortcut, got ourselves a little lost (GPS pretty sketchy at this point).
A very cleverly constructed cache, and hopefully someone else will find in at least another 6 months.

If the next person to find this cache could check to see if my Cat trackable is present, and mark it missing if not, I'd appreciate it...
Finally, we can knock the bugger off. Have worked at this on and off on separate visits to the Mount and could never seem to get it quite right. Pagenz and ourselves made a huge headway with this on our last visit to the area but the weather packed in really badly last time we were here so saved this for a not so rainy day and obviously for the next time we were in the area. Very happy to claim the smiley on this one and to share the victory with Pagenz. Many, many thanks and a fav from us.
Attempted this about 3 years ago but ran out of time searching for the final, back today but had to re do the way points as I had lost the previous ones.
Came up with three lots of way points and this wad enough to have a thrash about in the familiar gz area and this time came up with the goods and very pleased about that too.
Great multi certainly deserved of a favorite from me.

On our way up to the summit to collect 4 caches in 1 day. With help from a couple of other cachers for some hints / help. Today was the day we were going to tick this one off. After a bit of bush bashing we finally made it to GZ. A quick search and there was the cache. Great hiding spot and a nice decent sized container. We got such a surprise when we opened it, very well stocked !!!
A great cache a favourite from us.

We tackled this mega cache in one afternoon, well maybe into the evening a bit. There definitely was a lot of zigging and zagging, and we had to stop to get some lunch because we ran out of water! With some creative trigonometry we found the last stage. The views were amazing, the sheep were accommodating, the stories we read along the way were interesting. Thanks for taking the time to put this together.
We have been slowly working on this cache over the last three years. Before our trip this year I figured out the final location and we made the grab today. TFTC!
Couldn't find wp1 at given Coords
If it's been a while since any logged finds might be worth a look to see if the first clue is still there?...

Don't have a GPS, so after finally getting the final measurements, had a go at manually figuring this one out late last night, sure I had managed to narrow it down to a certain area. Saw a couple of things that matched the clue but no cache to be found there, was late in the afternoon and kids were ready to go back down so unfortunately it was a DNF for us today.
#300. Good cache for a milestone! Like many, it took several visits, multiple summits to finally get. With only an iPhone, proximity feature not available, so had to rely on manual calculations at home. However, I run up or around the Mount a few times each week, so just plugged away on each visit, getting slowly but surely to the answer. Definitely made the runs more exciting! So TFTC and Challenge.
Great cahce. Collected most waypoints on my regular runs, then dedicated 2 saturdays to finishing the last ones. Very satisfying to find. Great way to get to know the mount. TFTC
Did lots of zigging & zagging during our last 3 visits to the Mount and having collected all the needed info were surely in the right area for the final? So are very disappointed to report a DNF ... we may have to look for another excuse to return again before next years triathlons?!
Still, was looking for an excuse to explore all the different tracks - quite enjoyable way to get some exercise and there always seems to be something interesting happening to see along the way. Thanks!
*P.S.* ah, rechecking the range map and see I transposed numbers for one of the proximities... now the radii cross eachother more precisely; still think we were in the right area, but will have to see if anyone else finds it & hopefully be back to try again

Success at last! The end of a long challenging cache. Not too flash with trigonometry so resorted to a geographic solution using Garmin's Basecamp software. GZ proved to be about 8m away from our calculation. A great deal of satisfaction gained in completing this multi. Swapped out three trackables and dried out the container which had collected a little water. TFTC
Did a check on this cache to see if it was all ok and not muggled. Its been quite a while since anyone has found this. Found no problems with cache - all in place and safely hidden - Enjoy.
Also picked up a couple of Travel Bugs that have been on extended holiday in the cache and are getting bored with the fantastic view up here !! I will move them on to another cache.

Finally, we can claim victory on this cache!! We completed the first 7 WPs a couple of months ago when we were down here last. Back here at the Mt over New Years to complete this cache and also others in the area we didnt get time to do last time. Really enjoyed the workout this multi gave us zig-zagging all over the Mt. This definately is the longest and toughest multi we have done to date but well worth the effort. Thanks for the challenge! Dropped 3 trackables for moving along. TFTC! Well worth a favourite point!!
Had been quietly completing this over a few morning walks around the Mt. Was great to be able to complete this morning. While working out the coded message hotwheelsnz arrived on the scene, and so an enjoyable find all round. Nice to meet some fellow cachers. TFTC and the zig zag route to the top!
Pleased to cross this one of the list. Did all stages about a year ago but never got round to completing it. We were up the top of the mount today & bumped into Emvy_Us. With a lot of help from them, we managed to find the final location. TFTC & thanks to Emvy_Us.
Did a check on the cache to ensure all was safe and sound - all good. Also dropped off a TB
On an expedition at the Mount with the kids who wanted to stop by the cache. Moving on the tb since it's a Rugby World Cup one and it may get stuck in this multi for awhile. TNLN else.
Figured out the secret code in advance by trial and error which turned out to be very helpful today. Sent the rest of the family up the summit track while I scooted along round the perimeter to pick up the WP's. Found the first one and got coords for the second and then discovered some of the tracks were closed due to landslides. Hmmm, made some wild guesses and soon had the cache figured. Nice spot for the final. Thanks for taking us here and the workout! Dropped off the Irish rugby TB, just a short punt to Eden park from here.
Glad to get this off the list at last, Been working on it for a while, Very cold at the top so did not stay long after a look at the view, Worth the walk up
Third trip up the Mount but at least it wasn't raining this time - excellent cache thanks for the effort gone into this one. Found with help from NZ Biscuit - slowly pinned the spot Most enjoyable day
Wow - that really stretched both mind and body. Two heads are better than one, and made the final find with NZFlossy, but somehow missed lunch
After after getting to the cypher stage last time, I found there wasn't any blood left in brain to complete the mission. ( All drained to legs ). Took an appropriate picture and solved cypher at home with lots of help from computer as picture showed insufficient detail. Used Map source to get proximity's and the rest was straight forward this time. Very enjoyable but challenging cache. Thanks
We started this cache on Friday 15th January) and bumped into some family at the start. They were fascinated by the Geocahing as we picked up each clue around the Mount. But we soon lost them when we realsied that we needed to go around again. We completed all the first few waypoints then called it a day.
Saturday - we set out thinking that this was to be a meer formality picking up the cache. How wrong. By the time we had cracked the code we had had enough, and we were struggling locate the GZ. I was sure it was down the hill so off we went.
By this time it was getting late in the day and we had run out of steam. So on third attempt one day when we are back at the Mount with some time and the GZ calculated we will pick it up.
On the bright side we did get heaps of good exercise!
January 21st 2011
We found it!!!!!
There was more to this one than meets the eye! Very rewarding.
The cache was very well equiped!
Took the Jeep Travel bug.

6 months ago we got to the code stage but gave up. When we came back we climbed up and then realised we needed the other wpts. After a total of 5 hours walking going up and down the mount twice we found it
Forgot to log that I dropped off a travel bug. Hope the dolphin doesn't have to wait too long for a ride but what a perfect spot to leave him within the smell and sound of the sea.
Started this one 6months ago so resumed our search from wp7 took a while decrypting the message and then OH No! no longer have the required info in the gps so had to retrace our steps, refuel at the coffee shop and then head to GZ. Had a scout around and then realised the meaning of the hint and soon had cache in hand. took at TB as felt we really deserved this. TFTC
What a challenge! Now we know nearly every path of the mountain very very very well. We had no idea about 'ab58' and the waypoint. But we found the next waypoint by trial and error. What a luck. we also couldn't find the last waypoint. And so we cracked the code without further information. Pretty hard for no native english-speakers, but we got it. After all we are really proud about finding this one and thank you so much for the exciting day!

Checked cache after last log....no problems, cache is all safe & sound and intact, not muggled, no scrub cutting in area....Enjoy!!! JFBNZ
Went up the other day to move on some TB, could not find it. There has been some scrub cleared in the area so could of been muggled then
We had decided to make this cache our 1700th find, and knowing it can take several visits we made a start a few days ago. The first 5 waypoints were found without difficulty on a walk around the base of the Mount. After some research at home we returned this afternoon confident we could complete this multi in the last couple of hours before dark. We found the next few waypoints as we climbed to the top of the Mount to do the earthcache which was our 1699th find, and a short time later we headed off to the Final co-ords for this cache. Arriving at our calculated GZ we quickly spotted the hint item, and soon had the cache in hand. Our 1700th find!! .
Thanks for this enjoyable and challenging multi.
Dropped a geocoin and a TB, and picked up a TB

Came up to take some photos of the three new TBs Jakob, Felix and Benni and wish them "Bon Voyage" for their journey back home. Check them out in the gallery!! Jakob will most likely be very busy around Tauranga this coming Christmas Eve because the local Mr Clause is sure to be overloaded with delivery orders and Felix will be succonded to the local constabulatry on this coming New Years Eve at the Mount to help quell any riots that may prevail and as for Benni...he's got a long wait till 5 November 2010 but he will most likely be pressed into service before then to rescue exhausted geocachers who get stranded on the Mount due to too much Zigging and Zagging.
Found it in very strange way. Thanks to John & Benjamin for helping me travelling such a big distance in such a short time while I was sleeping!
I placed three TBs here. Please help each one of them to come home (seperatly). But don't forget: They are very interested in exploring the world.

This has to be the longest [xx(] multi we have attempted so far. We knew it was going to take a while, so we set out bright and early. Even so, lots of joggers and walkers out on a beautiful Saturday. And as the morning progressed then there were the visitors off the cruise ship that arrived in port this morning. What a mission , plenty of going this way, and that way, up and down, and around about. But ... we got there ! Many thanks for the cache, you have given us a fantastic morning adventure.
This has been a time consuming exercise...but I loved it. Started about 4 years ago, before I knew how to do this type of cache. Last year climbed to the trig 3 times in one day trying to sort it. Still no luck but getting very close. This year, with some help, managed to finally solve the mystery...thank goodness! I now know The Mount intimantly...TFTC
Found it with No Fixed Aboder while galivanting around on The Mount.
Time consuming cache, and a great spot for it.

What a mammoth task to find this cache. Our first day we started at 3pm so simply ran out of time and gave up after waypoint #5. However, we didn't learn and started day 2 at a similar time, arriving at waypoint #8 around 6pm. There was a bitter southerly blowing at the time so we gave up trying to work out the code opting to do it in the comfort of our lounge at home. Probably not the smartest decision knowing the position of the final cache. Day 3, finally claimed the prize, and well worth it too, a real sense of achievment for all. Thankyou so much for taking the time to set up this exceptional treasure hunt.
I found the clues from waypoint #6 onwards to get more and more cryptic and difficult. However, the clues DO point to the cache and you just have to take your time and muddle through it. A bit of kiwi engenuity and guesswork and we got there in the end. Even the location of the final cache had me stumped for some time but it is there... keep looking!
A warning to those attempting this task. START EARLY!! and take supplies, food and water. Don't expect to be any good for anything afterwards except maybe a soak in the hotpools.
Thanks again.

Needed some exercise so did a maintenance check on the final cache - all safe and sound !! However - I detected an error in the code for the "Simple Coded Message" &^%#!!! so unfortunately I have had to amend the code letters for the message....sorry about that! Triple checked it this time.

What a monster of a challenge. Agogo and I set off in search for the cache and things were running smoothly. We'd walked round and round and got to WPT#6 were we got a bit confused with the puzzle. We mucked it up as ended down at the beach with GPS pointing 90m into the sea [:(!] we thought back to what we'd seen that could be a Sailors Friend and thankfully we had recorded the info at what was WPT#7 Knowing these co-ordinates had to be correct we started heading off to it until.... we realised it was ?????? by now it was 3pm and we hadn't had lunch so we threw in the towel Will have to return another time to complete this mammoth of a cache
Set off to do this one on a lovely sunny winters day. Sure got our exercise but ran out off energy and food before completing all the waypoints. Needed some lunch by 3pm so will return another day to sort out the puzzle. Thanks for a great challenge.

Hot day tramping around up down round and round the Mount, ran around the base track clockwise first to get a few breadcrumbs laid out to make locating the WP's easier, got as far as WP6 (bill clinton's) and then got a bit stumped with the clue, so i used the ones i had to triangulate. 2 of The distances were a bit out, (10 and 15m) but i used the hint and figured out who big momma was.
Took 50 belgian francs left dice #5

Have fixed the recently vandalised waypoints, changed the cache instructions slightly (should be slightly more difficult) and checked that all waypoints including the final cache are in place.....Enjoy!!
On our way up to do the earth cache (and celebrate TWS 2000th cache) we came as far as wp3. Looks like "margret is missing".
Started this one some time ago, and it has taken four visits to the Mount over several months to complete this one. This was the second visit to the top armed with the final coordinates, and it was a relief to find the cache very promptly. We were surprised how busy the Mount was on a Monday, and we also enjoyed the varied bird life. Thanks for the challenge (and learning more about proximity).
did this at the same time as the earthcache, got the first waypoint, then did a bit of guesswork and found the bill clinton and ricky martin waypoint which gave us the location for waypoint 7 but it seems to be missing, found what i thought was it but it was a little flax bag with broken greenstone and bone carving in it, looked like some Maori offering back to the mountain......... put it back as not to get the hoodoo put on me, but am wondering if it was put in the spot the waypoint is normally hidden, looked all around ground zero for WP7 but no luck, please advise if WP7 is still in its correct location?
Dropped of Sparkee tb and took coin for an upcoming trip to one of it's preferred destinations!
I never tried multicache with so many waypoints but I didn’t went far – second waypoint ‘Margaret’ is missing. I tried to look for next wpt but without success so I just enjoyed rest of my walk over the mountain. Great views today.
came for a walk up to do the earth cache, while up here i dicided to drop my new coin into the cache
the cache is in good condition and also bone dry

This has been the most enjoyable multi yet! Several fun runs round and up the Mount to achieve this one, since I ran out of time in some visits and failed to locate the GZ on others. Fine tuned the details for the final and had success on a brilliant blue sky day. TFTC - Oh, and Waypoint #3 Margaret is missing the details for the clue for WP4.
[Biked to the mount, zig zagged the mount, searched around but ran out of time.] It seems proximities on my gps are only to with 10m for each, so covering a bit of area. [Will be a good training ride & run again to return. TFTC.
A nice wee walk this morning around and over the Mount, located all waypoints and cache very easily - first crack at this cache, great day for doing it, not too cold or hot with awesome views to be had, muggles everywhere but no worries at GZ, cache and contents still in good nick.

What a great feeling it was to find this one. Glad I read up on the proximity feature the day before. Great to see the hangliders who seem to stay up for ever. TFTC.
What a day to do this! Really hot. Wondered a bit about the need to backtrack with one of the WPs, kind of spoiled the journey. Trip up the top was great with fantastic views, but wished we had more sunscreen and water. Heaps of people about today too.
WP7 found easily, then the proximity trick! Great hide for the final, then back down to the cafe for some food and drink. TFTC

Great cache. Each day I took a stroll and found another waypoint. It was a great way to get to know the Mount. I am staying nearby on vacation from chilly New Mexico. Have to admit when I found WP7 I was a little puzzled. Some fiddling with the GPSR uncovered the proximity feature and I was on the hunt. Took two tries, gasp, gasp to locate the cache. I finally put away the receiver and channeled my grandaughter Penelope. Her unclouded ten year old mind led me straight to it. Thanks for a clever and entertaining hunt.
4th trip on the Mount, and finally... success.
Could have saved a trip if I'd figured out the proximity function of my GPS sooner, but did the work on MapSource and Google Earth at home instead.
Never mind... exercise is good, views were great again.
Took the master lock, left a deck of cards. TFTC

Bugger, got a bad case of sun burn doing this. Found all the 7 waypoints but my old gps and me can't to the prox.

Wow! Found it!
Today we were staying locally and took our two older grand daughters up the hill. I was not planning on geocaching and had no waypoints loaded and indeed I had not given a thought to checking out this cache again. However our path took us past what I recognised as familar ground and I announced that there was a cache somewhere here-abouts. I returned to a feature I vaguely recalled as having met the hint description and once again found nil. Kayla was standing watching by another feature and my wife shouted "Look there.
We did, and I immediately hit pay-dirt.
Kayla took a magnifier and we left a terminal block.
I see on going to log this that it was one day short of a year since the first attempt.

Really enjoyed this cache. It took over half a day by the time we'd dealt with our few mishaps. First we came off the Mount because of a hail storm. Got back into it and realised we'd left the printout of the clues back in the car. Thanks to Vodafone technology we were able to log in to the internet to get the last 4 waypoints. Finally arrived at the final clue and we had to work out where GZ was the old fashioned way!
Great fun and plenty of exercise.
