That was a mission. Heading from the Gold Coast back towards Brisbane Direction and grabbing some of the old geocaches along the way. On our way back to Mackay and seeing what other spaces we can fill on the DT grid. Tftc slOn a caching holiday from Mackay. In the search of old caches and ones to fill DT grid spaces. Found TFTC SL Thanks for placing this cache for our enjoyment.
After an early morning start with alphag_25 leaving the Gold Coast and unfortunately heading home after a 3 1/2 week holiday. Ahh have to earn the money to take these holidays. Finding some of the older caches to fill in some spaces. A mission to get in here even after finding no a park reasonably close. TFTC
I started this multi back on 26 January when I was out on my bike. I stopped to look for the first waypoint and figured out where I needed to get to. Then I rode in along the freshly mown tracks to get a bit closer. A small bush bash had me at the right spot and subsequently the waypoint was pretty easy to find. I plugged in the numbers and went off to check on the access route. On that side of the M1 the grass near the creek was all way above my head. The paths had been mown recently but there was no easy way to access the tunnels. I decided to leave it and investigate an eastern approach on another day.Today I was looking for a cache with a wading attribute and so this one came up on my list again. I decided to give it another go. This time I parked at the Holmead Rd dog park and walked up from there. The road was easy enough to cross but the little piece of bushland proved tough to move through. It is really dense in here and also still very damp underfoot. I navigated through the grass, jungly trees and rubbish. There is so, so much rubbish in this one little spot where it all gets washed down to. Once the gps had me close I checked the hint and then thankfully found the cache in the first spot I checked. The cache and logbook are still in good condition. After I signed the log and returned the cache I navigated my way back out of the rubbish pit and headed down along the fence to where the creek crosses under the motorway. I found it was actually quite pleasant in this spot with the shady trees and bubbling water. It was quite odd to find this nice peaceful place in the middle of the urban jungle. Thanks Crew 153 for the cache and the fun adventure!
Our original plan was only to see how far we could get with this puzzle because I had read a few stories of woe and long grass. The long grass didnt scare us, but the thought of what might be growing after all the rain and summer heat sure did.Our first hurdle was to find the starting waypoint because we couldnt decide what was the inside our outside of the fence. Lets just say we decided to focus on the easy side, and after we had already melted moved to the more difficult side. It still took us a bit of searching to find because a weed had decided to obscure things.Next we had to find how we were going to access the prize. Below the waypoint we could see a mown patch of grass that went nowhere so we bashed straight down the hill towards it. If someone could get a mower in here then surely there was also an escape route. The next struggle was to find a way to our access point. We started going through the long grass making small progress until we backtracked and found the perfect trail that all the local artists must use.We could see the way under the motorway and could also see a lot of water. Once again we decided to see how far we could get although the water was never deep enough to wet the socks. Once we had crossed it looked like a relatively clear walk to GZ.The last hurdle was the very last 30 metres to the cache. This part was definitely overgrown and was able to grab its pound of flesh on the way. We took the low route and jumped over the creek to finally find the hide in front our faces. On the way back through the drain our son rang to see what we were up to. It was so hot and my shirt did not have a single dry patch on it so we decided to make it a one cache day. He was smoking up a brisket so the meat beat out the plastic and we went straight for his air conditioning. tftc
Peppa had a plan. Coincidently, it was the same as mine which was to eventually get to this GZ and locate the cache. We chatted about this one recently. We had both made an attempt some years ago and now it was time to join forces to try again! The area had recently been slashed which was a pleasant surprise. We both recalled our last visits with above head height grass. With the area now clear(ish) it didn't take long to get to GZ and with the generous images from the CO's last log it didn't take long to find the prise. We signed the log and replaced the container as found, actioned a high-five, then returned to our vehicles. Thanks for the cache Cheers
Its been almost 2 and a half years since my last visit and in that time Ive left this single Mimosa cache on my mapSo when Wayn0 suggested an attempt here I jumped at the chance I remembered the approach and was surprised when we got to the point I had turned around at previously and were able to keep going a distinct geotrail helpedThe COs recent spoiler pics then came in very handy and it was Wayn0 who suggested the approach that resulted in the find Wayn0s logic was soundThanks Crew 153 very happy to finally finish this series
Met kolour at the cache location and found that the area was overgrown a lot since i was last here.
Added a couple of spoiler photos to help find the cache.

I’m needing just a few more Regular size caches for a challenge and had already found a couple of this series this morning. I had looked for this one last October without success. I didn't particularly like the area so wasn't sure if I wanted to return but thought I'd give it a go.
The grass and the water weren't so high this time and there weren't too many mozzies either but still lots of rubbish lying around.
I climbed back up to gz and looked in the same places as last time, thinking that I just didn't look hard enough. Still nothing, so I made a couple of PAFs but it was a long time since they had found it so memories were a bit hazy. So then I contacted the CO, thinking that it may be missing. He kindly offered to come over and replace the container if needed.
And of course, when he arrived, he found the cache in a slightly different, very overgrown area to which I'd been looking. As he hadn't visited for some time, he was amazed at how overgrown and changed the area was.
I'm so happy to have a smiley for this one, even though it was the CO who uncovered the cache! Thanks so much Crew 153 - this cache has been an epic for me.

12/1/2023 Find #5619
I was hoping to get most of a day to myself for caching today, and had planned to begin where I left off yesterday.
However plans have a way of going awry, and I ended up making my way over this way even later than yesterday’s attempts. Therefore I decided I would not head quite as far south to the Oxley series, and instead begin work on the Mimosa series.
The third on for me in the series, and I drove here expecting a simple little multi. I also thought I knew the CO and had been under the impression he was a nice person.
That may have changed here today!!
I will just say right now that when I put a note in my phone for later reference to this cache when I write my log, the note had only one word. It has 4 letters and is NOT publishable on here!
The first stage - the waypoint took a little longer to find than it really should have. But with that taken care of, I decided I was going to put my big girl pants on and go for the “adventure” approach. Yep it was definitely that!
First there were the cobblers pegs, which I knew I would have to come back through later too.
I did note the artwork the CO is referring to. I am just glad that I didn’t meet any muggles along the way here either.
And then I was at the other side with another 120ish metres to go.
Spiders webs. Plenty of spiders webs. With large spiders.
Long grass. Nothing but long grass as far as the eye could see.
And I had to go through it all by myself if I wanted that cache.
I could see it now. I’d get bitten by a snake and die out here before the emergency services could find me.
However I grabbed a “snider stick” as my daughter used to call them (for use against snakes and spiders ), and began my trek following the fence line. It seemed never-ending. And at one stage a kangaroo and I managed to give each other quite the fright. The kangaroo bounded off in the direction I was heading in - I could only hope that would scare of any snakes, and trample down some grass for me.
Finally I arrived at another rather creepy spot. There was a hose, a weed sprayer, clothes and a very large pile of rubbish, which I later discovered was the work of a bush turkey, who had somehow managed to gather all the rubbish and make a nest out of it.
Another lizard to try and give me a fright, some spiky plants, and I was finally at GZ where it was time to begin my search.
It may have been the panic setting in that this was going to become my final resting place and my name wouldn’t even be in the logbook, but I was having no luck with the search and was getting rather frustrated. I even headed up as far as possible after paying attention to the CO’s comments about terrain.
Finally I headed back to a spot I had searched prior, and thankfully was rewarded with my find.
Now to get out of here post-haste with my snider stick and get back to my car!
Thanks for the cache Crew 153. We may have words about this!

After finding the nearby OPAL trad, I headed to the waypoint for this one. After a PAF, I found what I was looking for. The water was low so I was able to make my way through the tunnel with the smell of fresh paint at the far end. I was worried about seeing snakes while heading through the long grass but didn’t thank goodness. Close to gz, it was covered in rubbish, much from the floods. I checked with a previous finder that I was in the right spot and was told yes. I scrambled up through thorny bushes, drawing blood, and saw the mentioned hint (small drain). There were some good hiding places but no sign of a cache. I’m possibly the first person to have been here since the floods and there were plenty of signs of debris and washouts at gz. Or maybe I just didn’t spread my search enough. I did look near an edge as mentioned by some but by then I had had enough and wasn’t enjoying the location. Maybe I will come back another day.
After being on the bike way for 10 mins struggling to find the hint, I decided to look at previous logs. It then dawned on me I was on the wrong side of the wall. Having a look at the right side, I might have found it. If there wasn't a worker near by doing who knows what. Re attempt soon.
Inspected a few spots but couldn’t locate the elusive white circle (or the cache). Perhaps another day.
Out today to grab 7 oldies from Crew 153. Thank you for keeping these caches going. Had lots of fun finding them. I did need to Paf a few times for help on a couple of them.
So now Mimosa series finished and one to go on the Oxley series to go.
Plus 3 for for a new challenge on the Northside.
So I found 10 for today. The breakdown was 7 mystery, 2 earthcache and a multi.
Sorry for the generic log.

I managed to get this unknown cache's coordinates whilst visiting Whirlpool on 11/12/2021, and Whipbird on 6/01/2022 appeared to confirm the coordinates once again.
Today, jesswrigley and I needed to pop over to MacKenzie for an errand, and we then decided to use our new baby carrier in walking a section of Brisbane Koala Bushlands, picking up a few of the rabbit series (Rabbit Trap, Tricky Rabbit, Rat Plague, etc.).
After our long walk, Garden City Shopping Centre was our next stop where we had lunch and did some shopping, and then I decided to make my own way home, stopping at a few geocaches within the vicinity and around Mount Gravatt. I did manage to get a find a few more oldies from Mimosa Creek's geocaches, with M1 certainly being quite the adventure.
I initially visited the initial waypoint on 6/01/2022, taking a walk from a nearby side-street. After walking along the structure, it was only a few minutes of searching before finding the clue. Now I had an option; I could take the adventurous route, or I could defer to another day. On this particular day, there was a fair amount of water running through, and I wasn't in the state to be getting my shoes and jeans wet, so I chose the defer option, although I'd love to explore that particular shortcut way further.
Fast forwarding to today, and I was on the right M1 side to be able to make this cache find. I obtained a park within a reasonable distance, and then made the rest of the journey along the road on foot. I then arrived at the particular reserve, and as others mentioned, there was grass as tall as me that I needed to navigate through, and perhaps one of the tougher access routes that I've had to go through for some time. I then came across a lantana / heavy density shrubbery wall, and after trying a few options, I took the least worst option, traversing the creek, and eventually getting to GZ. After taking the appropriate elevation option, I took another 5-10 minutes of searching around, before finally finding the hinted object. There were a few very good hiding places for this cache that were initially consuming my time, and a few areas where I had interpreted the white circle, but no, it is a clear white circle once you find it. The cache container and logbook were in good shape. Thanks Crew 153 for the cache placement and ongoing maintenance. It was nice to find this oldie 09/2005 hidden cache, which is one of Queensland's 500 oldest yet active geocaches.

Caching today with RoddyC (designator driver) snickersallan and GS1947 aiming at some oldies for a challenge.
Thank you for keeping this series going.
This one was tough going with long grass and vines and having to make our own tracks. GZ was well hidden for a while so reached out for assistance to find.

Lovely day out in the local area with geo friends hatzofff, RoddyC and grannysmith1947.
Still working on this beaut series and today I got to tick off another one after an epic adventure getting to and from GZ. After a fruitless search in the area it was time for a PAF and thankfully we finally unearthed it. This is a beaut hide, well done CO.

Arrived at GZ thought I found a spot that matched the clue but no luck for me today. I’ll be back.
Out with TripleTurmoil, Willis007 and Bella the Geodog for a day of caching on the south side while paying close attention to the Mimosa series and grabbing a couple other caches along the way.
Wow! What a mission!
We had no issue gathering the numbers after a long walk down the side of the highway, with those numbers we had some new coords that put us a short distance away, so how do we get there, drive? No, we'll take the tunnel of course. We had several of them to choose from so we sussed them all out and picked the driest one.
We finally made it to the other side and this is where the fun really begins. We walked past this odd green tall thingy, what is that on side of it, is that a cache? There was a small Sistema container stuck to side of it, anyone lose a cache? After a bit of confusion we carried on into the unknown. We hopped over the creek and encountered a monstrous amount of rubbish, this place could really do with a CITO, but it's really awkward to get to though. We hopped over the creek once again and made our way through the dense bush and finally, yes finally we made it to GZ.
We couldn't find anything what went along with the hint, we thought we were in the correct spot, but we had zero luck spotting the cache, we extended our search and after a few more minutes Willis007 spotted the cache nicely tucked away. Pheeew! We didn't want to DNF this one.
We signed the log and replaced the cache as found and slowly but surely made our way back.
What an interesting spot, it's a shame their is so much rubbish though. Thanks for the adventure.

After recently completing the Oxley series, Triple Turmoil, NayFee and myself decided to tackle the Mimosa series. I had already done the first 4 but accompanied the others on a lovely Sunday afternoon walk. I had also been here in an attempt to complete this one, but got a little put off after visiting the first WP. Reading previous logs and convincing myself I could smell fresh paint and did that mean the painters were still close by, I decided to bail.
There is safety in numbers, we made our way to where we needed to go and found ourselves negotiating all sorts of terrain on the way through. At gz, we took a good look around, eventually the cache was spotted. Log signed, all replaced as found, we were on our way to tackle the next Mimosa.
Thanks Crew 153, enjoying the series. A fav from me.

Today Willis007, Nayfee and I decided to make the Mimosa series our mission. Willis007 had already completed some of them but was happy to take us to the first few so we could finish together. We had a late start to the day but did manage to complete the whole series in 6 hrs (with a few side-tracked extra caches).
This cache was the main reason that Willis007 was with us. Daunted by the tunnel. I must say, I am glad I had company, as if the tunnel didn't daunt me, the bush bash afterwards certainly would have!
Hmmm white circle? We never did see this. Saw the small drain and a circle of another colour. And.... a very interesting sistema container attached high up on a pole. Very suspiciously someone's lost geocache container??

On a wet afternoon, we set out for this adventure. Having wisely read previous logs, we knew to come armed with machetes for the long grass, but these would also act as potential safety tools in case the druglords at GZ spotted us.
After recent rains, and not having chosen a very wise path into waypoint one, we used our machetes and umbrellas to beat our path to the top of the slippery slope. There was a drizzle of rain and after some searching here, we did resort to sending a message to a previous finder, who confirmed (from our photo) we were in the right place but just needed to expand our search. Some further searching soon revealed some secret coordinates and then we slid back down to the ground, cautiously approaching our way to some very wet tunnels.
Through the very wet tunnels we trod, avoiding all sorts of wild animals. I’m sure the toads were very happy with how the day had planned out for them… wet and cool.
A small bat flew off in fright while a large moth also took flight, not expecting us in its otherwise dry roof domain. All the while, our feet were slipping and sliding through the muddy wet bottom of the tunnel.
With a sense of relief we arrived at the other end of the tunnel, and then it was time to put the machetes to their real use. The grass is happy after the long rain and is as high as we are.
There was nothing for it but to just forge on ahead, which we did until we reached the area close to GZ. An old tent, plenty of old clothes, many bottles and food packet remnants certainly tell a story of this area.
No sign of the garden crop in sight, so we guess this must have all gone up in smoke!
We needed to cross a couple of small creeks which may not exist in the dry weather.
Then it was upwards to GZ. It took a while of searching in various wrong places before we finally saw something which seemed to match the hint. Well-covered with vegetation, Mr Domsky got down low and did the honours.
We were very happy to add our name to this logbook.
Thanks Crew153 for the adventure!

Well that was interesting...
It’s been a long time since I found the last cache in this series... so with time to spare (I’m avoiding packing up our house) I stopped here...
I found WP1 after one false start... and I knew from logs where I had to go... another false trail but I made it to the crossing... there were fresh footprints here (wtf??)
I made it over and then proceeded to slog my way through grass that at times was over my head... with beasties bounding and scurrying in every direction... 16 metres... that’s what I got the GPS down to before water, trees, grass and bugs sent me back...
I seriously considered the bent back fence but thought better of it...

Found the first waypoint a few days ago and figured I had to be on the garden city side to get the next one. On the garden city side now and can’t seem to find an access point if there is one. Read the logs to find out I was in the right place a few days ago. Will attempt at a later date. Hopefully no waterway dope pushers are encountered in the future.

After work I decided to tackle some more caches in this series. This was my last find and the most fun. At wp1 I was walking around in circles for a bit and turned around and I saw what I needed. No rain for a long time so I took the shorter route and surprisingly there was still some water and some foot prints. No worries I went on . There was a little geo trail and not far from gz some one has a little garden . Made sure to keep Clear of this.. Once at gz I spent another little while walking around in circles and then I spotted this cache. Thinking those plants might be precious to someone I thought I better get out quick. That was a fun cache. Thanks for taking me a bit outside my comfort zone I really enjoyed it.
Wow this will have to be one of my most memorable caches, having been here yesterday to collect I found there was more to this cache than I first thought. I ran out of time and thought I have half the day tomorrow I will come back. So today I arrived at the first WP and found the coordinates I needed fairly quickly. I punched in the new coordinates and found it was some distance away. The hint says I can take the short cut or drive and take the long way. I really wasn’t sure what it all meant but I started to look around and thought really? Is that where I can go?.
I started off not knowing where I was going to end up, I followed the gps and then walked through the long grass and found a makeshift trail. Along the way I passed a nice little “garden” area that someone has been taking care of. I made it to GZ and searched around looking for a container of some sort, with no luck, found plenty of places that could be a good hide but nothing. Thinking the worse and that it might be gone I started to read previous logs. It was here not so long ago so I started to widen my search and then I found something that made a little more sense from the hint and from the previous logs.
I uncovered a rock and found the cache, ahh now it all makes sense, now for my happy dance, so happy to have found this one. This series of caches has been on my to do list for some time, it was nice to knock over another and grab a clue for the next ones. My walk back was easier than my walk in , I still passed the suspicious crop but then followed the fence line back and took the short cut back to the car.
An awesome cache and the contents are nice and dry, I signed the log and returned the cache as found, so happy to have found this one.

Phew! Found it.
WP1 was easy enough to find thanks to good coords.
Then we took the shortcut under the freeway, past someone’s ‘weed’ crop next to the creek, and up the bank to GZ. Cache is now supporting the small drain mentioned. All good and dry though. (Funny, our map says this is now the M3. )
Thanks Crew 153. This series is a lot of fun so far.
On to the next cache we go.

Well i can at least properly log a dnf here, as opposed to last time.
Hah.
So no wonder i never found a cache at those coordinates.
Rectifying this rather quickly i groaned at where i needed to be, and a chuckle at how the co also knew this. Throwing caution to the wind, despite recent heavy downfalls, i slowly wobbled my way to dry banks and light..
But as the co well intended, no doubt.. this is just the beginning.
Well.. an awkwardly long time later, rain started and i had to call it for another time.. preferably with a group.
Next time gadget, next time.

I had gathered the coords for this cache an hour or so earlier, and i passed it on the ride home, so thought why not have a look.
A half hour later my hunger won and i slunk outta there to go feed the beast. Perhaps a log troll first is required.

Took a bit to find this one. I was about to give up and then something in a prior post gave me another avenue to consider
Glad that one is under my belt

This thing was a mission unto itself. Steep climb up the embankment and quickly (thankfully) located WP 1. Realised we needed to traverse the M1 so went under but confronted with shoulder high itchy scratchy grass! Ploughed through and up again to search and search to no avail. We were reluctant to give up so I made a PAF or two even to you dear CO! A lovely friend came up with help and it was discovered where we had both already searched! We need to go to SpecSavers!! TFTC Giving it a FP as not many others do!! I love a good adventure
Grabbed the coords for this one from whirlpool quite a while ago. While in the area checking out a newly adopted cache, decided to find a few other old caches for a challenge that I'm working on. The only feedback I got re this cache was its a bit of a walk.
So by a bit of a walk I naturally thought it was a long distance ie quantity not quality. With my chauffeur parking close, Gcoven and I thought it would be a quick find as we made our way to the M1. That's where the fun stopped as we approached WP1 and the previous logs were read out!!
It was slippery climb up the slope and the final coords were noted before figuring how best to get ourselves there. In the end went under, out the other side, through high and itchy grass to a public pool, re-pleasant in all the latest airborne garbage that gets washed out from the M1 above.
Knew where we needed to be so weaved a path thru the lantana and up the slope. Spent 20mins searching before the first mayday was sent out to previous finders. After sweating buckets some intel came in which helped uncover the cache in a spot I only checked a few minutes earlier. This find was the last for the day as it sapped out my enthusiasm. Thanks Crew 153 for your assistance and keeping this cache active.

Goodness gracious me! This one was certainly what will become one of the more memorable cache finds I've had. Didn't read the description, straightlined through the bush and was searching at WP1 for the cache, getting stuck on vines etc. Re read, then figured the instructions must be on the other side, so found the nice path and hiked around there. No, must be other side, back to the bush.
Final in hand crossed into a dark place and tried to get through the grass. Seeing as it's the middle of summer I only had sandals ... This is not a sandals cache. Tried a different way but it seemed wrong.
Time passes, another day. Dark place now flooded so that route is out. Tried to access via a different route but Google is just as baffled.
Another day, hitched a lift with wife to Garden City by cunningly pretending I wanted to go shopping. Left on an errand and got around the bus depot to the GZ area. After trying a few paths I eventually found Pprime's 'colourful' route handily exposed by some grafitti gangs. The trail along here is much better and might even be ok for sandals. Got to GZ and after searching the obvious places widened out a bit before finding a better, out of the way place and saw the edge of the cache. Bit tricky to get to.
So glad to find this one, I had total OCD after the second fail and with only a couple more days in Bris was awesome to finally get.
Had a real adventure getting to this guy, lots of interesting areas. Saw a baby possum nesting in an old electrical box too.
Better check for tics later.

Wednesday. We had so much trouble with this cache last time so got in touch with the CO for some advice (way back on the 17th of June). Today was pay-day for this cache. I would have to agree with the finders log dated 6th May 19 on this cache! Some long long grass here at this cache but also a path of sorts to follow which was nice... I parked at the same spot we parked at last time and made my way across the bike path. Found my way to GZ and no luck. Argh. Read previous finder’s log and made my way back through the looking glass, to where my foot was on the precipice. Bingo! Gotcha. Details for the next cache taken, log signed and cache replaced. [Only 2 and a half months to revisit this cache, but nice to finally get this one as it is another old one I can tick off].
This was the 1st of 4 caches found on today's trip.
Thanks ***Crew 153***, for showing us this place.

Well this cache was certainly a drama and a half! We went here... got the waypoint... then went there... nope wrong way... back this way... try that way... ok we'll go around that way.
Eventually we chose the right way and found the cache right where it was supposed to be, hehehe. Thanks for this interesting and unexpectedly challenging cache, Crew 153!

Wow...what an adventure! Classic mistake of not reading the cache description...had no idea we were heading to a waypoint instead of GZ. This we discovered on our wander to said WP as I was reading a some previous logs. All good...we've got this. A straightforward find of the WP and we headed to GZ on foot. Not entirely sure what we were thinking cause we ended up on the wrong side of the fence which in hindsight was quite obvious we shouldn't have been there . Anyway we backtracked and stuck to the other side of the fence and with much relief we eventually had ourselves a cache. Thanks again, Crew 153.
Monday. Slow Puncture was out today getting the new Geocar serviced. We will be back to finish this one off on another day soon. We were in the area and had spent much of today collecting the previous caches in this series. We got to WP1 and searched high and low. Oh, to have forethought to read the cache page first! We knew we were in the right area, but thought this was a short one step / two step / cache grab! Argh. We’ll be back. We have some info, although we couldn’t find the next set of WPs. We have run out of time for now however, but will be back when we can to find this cache and finish off the series. Looks like so much effort went into this series and all the caches have been well maintained too Nice to see.
Thanks ***Crew 153***, for showing us this interesting place. We'll be barrrck!

Back today for a second look.
Turns out I was a couple of meters wrong last time as all I had to do was widened the search area.
The general area is an interesting piece of land
Thank you for hiding this cache Crew 153

A return to the scene of this crime. Two DNFs, AVENGED!!!!!
Straight to final GZ this morning, from the convenient parking spot nearby. Through the over-head high grass for a few hundred meters (and being early morning it was wet). Grass seeds in my hat. This time I went up the embankment straight away (not via the creek bed) ... this is a smarter approach. I noticed through the grass that I seemed to have a trail to follow - could it be someone else has been here recently? Cache hasn't been found in over a year so I guess it is attractive to some.
I picked my way along the fenceline - and I do think this is a better approach - but I still ended up at the same spot, and looking at the same places - and they are still without cache. Hmmm. I had a description of the general sort of hide, and this somewhat obvious place doesn't match it. I widened my search.
Now, for those playing at home, this is not a well mown open piece of bushland. It is a mess of debris, grass, downed trees, saplings, vines (with spikes). It is a mess up here. And for me 0m on the GPSr was the plainly wrong spot I keep rechecking in case it popped back into this dimension briefly. I circled wider. Dangerously going where there is no ground underneath my feet ... when oh! What is this? A bit of concrete that with some excavation looked like what I felt I had to be looking for ... GPSr registering only 4m - so that's more than acceptable (it feels somewhat further than 4m, but satellites never lie do they?).
A few trees, much brush, grass and a few clumps of dirt went into the creek until I found an edge and viola ... there be a cache. In PRISTINE condition, very safe spot that one.
I am giddy with delight - or blood loss from the vines scratching me - dirty, already tired and very, very wet. But excited. This is a good day.
M1 ... tick. Done.
Thanks Crew 153 for entertaining me at this location.

Couldn't find this one, despite a really good look around. I found the WP1 this time. Twice actually. But final GZ eluded me this time. I found a really likely spot at about 1m on my GPSr, but knowing now that's not it I shall have to return and widen my hunt some more. At least I know where I am going now.
Making the best of a non-work day - checking some older caches out on the southside of Brisbane. My next stop was here and with coords for WP1 in hand, and a reasonably clear spot to check ... I saw nothing like coords anywhere. I have had some blindness today - so I could be wrong. But .....
I went past the artwork just in case something looked obvious over there - it didn't. Oh well, another time.

WOW, that was a bushwalk! I had to be careful on my newly healed knee, had I been alone there is no way I would have done it. But with a bunch of us, i braved the neck high grasses and questionable places to step and managed to get right in there. Under and over it was like going on a bear hunt, all scary and haunted! So glad to have the CO with us. I had ment to pop in a pathtag but completely forgot until I was walking back out and sadly there was no way i was going back in there. Phew! safely back to the car in one piece. These old ones must be protected! Thanks! A favourite point simply bacause I managed to get in and back out
This was the hardest cache to retrieve by the Planet Group. So glad we had some help to retrieve it.

April 2010 I completed the caches in this series and had the finals for this one written down. I never got to GZ though and many years had past... On a group hunting mission today, I added it to the list of wants, but had to touch base with Crew153 as my paperwork was not as sharp as it should have been and I could not locate the final coords...
With that corrected, the group filled the very small parking area close to GZ and commenced the walk in. Worth noting that right now, the terrain rating is probably slightly lower then what you face on the journey in, but with the CO leading the way, we all made it safe and sound. [^]
Once in location, the container was still a little elusive and took a while to spot. It really shouldn;t hav though... After it was extracted and the log was being etched with the Planet Group name, Monkey Makey proceeded to enlighten us that he did this one at night... Err... WHAT... [?]
With business done, we returned along our well formed track and headed off to the next.
Very pleased to finally have this one ticked off. Thanks for the cache, the series and the guided walk in today Crew153.
Found with the Planet Group team of Myself, SaintsMadHouse, MonkeyMaker, E(:, JacsTeam, Ruzzelz and Crew153.

During the week I was lucky enough to join up to planetary souvenir hunters party for the weekend vadventures. However, it was not the souvenirs that caught my attention but the target of the group of flash mob caches and a few other puzzles.
"Planet Group" meaning those of us chasing the planet souvenirs was used to sign the logs. The Group consisted of... Gunnie69, SaintsMadHouse, MonkeyMaker, E:), JacsTeam, Crew153 and myself (ruzzelz).
A guided tour of Mimosa was another highlight of the Day. Thanks Crew153.

So a call was put out on Facebook for interested parties to get together for the planetary souvenir with the view of using the opportunity to work together and complete the vast majority of the Makku Mob caches. In the end there were seven eager cachers and a plan of attack was hatched by Gunnie.
The day started at extremely early hour to pick up my travelling companion and then trip out to Browns Plains. Along the way we collect a few puzzles, letterboxes and the odd traditional was thrown in as well.
A few soggy logs were replaced along the way, but for the most part everything was found in good nick.
The day was awesome, the company fantastic - but now I have earned a nana nap and will be lazy with a copy and paste log.
Thank you to all the cache owners and my fellow ‘planet group’ members, which is how we signed the logs to save space, for great day!

I am pleased to have this one behind me as I have had 2 attempts at it. The first time I found Sandpit but couldn't read the next 2 sets of co-ords and the CO messaged them to me and I found Whirlpool and got 2 more sets of numbers but then I had 2 sets for one of them and and I was standing at the M1 looking for Whipbird and the hint said a stump, well I couldn't find the stump here but found it somewhere else. I finally found my number near the M1 without breaking a limb went past the paintings but changed my mind and drove around the other side and plowed through loooong grass and cobblers pegs and spider webs and after I messaged CO for help before I did myself an injury. CO replied yes right place then after awhile I was about to surrender and I spied the elusive little demon, signed the log noted the next 2 sets of co-ords and replaced cache as found. I was just messaging CO to say I got it when he sent me another clue. This is one cache I am happy not to have to come back to. Now through the loooong grass back to the car. TFTC
Found with stairman1. We started this series in 2011 and decided it was time to finish it. With no Geodog anymore to accompany us, it was lonely doing these caches. We saw a kangaroo which Geodog would have chased. All good here
Found with Goldielover Gee that was an ordeal. Lucky for us we have our boots on. Scared the wits out of a Roo sleeping in the long grass. TFTC Lots of fun here.
Mrs Just a Trifle was out for a day of caching fun with barbbowman and Raynersinoz. We had decided to head over to the other side of town to see what adventures we could find
We managed to locate the cache easily enough and with our names added to the log book, we continued on our way
Thank you Crew 153 for having placed the cache and for maintaining it for everyone to enjoy

I hadn't been caching with my caching buddies barbbowman and Mrs JAT for a couple of weeks - they had both been a bit under the weather. We had started the Mimosa series last time we had been caching together, so we thought we'd continue our adventure. And today, what an adventure that was! This was our last cache for the day as school pick up was looming, but we headed to the coords and soon found the next waypoint. We were a bit confused as to what was required next, but the penny eventually dropped - DOH! - and we realised where we needed to go. Hmmmmmmmm, lucky we decided to attempt this today and not yesterday when it was pouring with rain. Hesitantly we followed the compass and met another obstacle, grass...long wavy grass...swishy swashy, swishy swashy...can't get over it...can't go under it...we'll have to go through it! Yikes, I'm not in my comfort zone now. Surely this can't be right? We soldiered on and OMG there was GZ. bb did the honours and with relief we signed the log. I'm glad I got through that, I feel a real sense of achievement in finding that one, especially now I've realised it was unloved. TFTC Crew153
well that was an adventure ...
found the info but mistook it for something else lol
mrs jat realised what I had done and off we go to gz
loved the first obstacle ... hope u like the video
oh dear ... no ... yes ... ok
hanging of the edge of tabletop felt a little more secure but there was a tree ... it got a hug
took orange flower ring
left green ribbon

This turned out to be a lot more of an adventure than I had anticipated.
I admit that I didn't read the cache description until I'd searched for about half an hour. When I did read it, it confused me more than anything else. It was Monkey Maker's log that finally twigged me to what I needed to do and, from there, it was a much easier search.
I wasn't entirely keen on the dark tunnel or the long grass though. Lol.

Wow what an adventure this one was. We found the waypoint ok and keyed in the coords for the final. We chose to walk rather than drive as it is dry today, and although a bit tricky in places it was an enjoyable journey. Saw some turtles and a lizard and plenty of graffiti
This one gets a favourite point mainly for the adventure value
We now have the next two sets of coords but they can wait until another day.

Out on some night caching with Monkey Maker and the decision was made to knock over this series - I had done bits of it a while ago so was determined to finish. I have spent the most time on this cache ever....well at least that is what it feels like!
After much searching at the WP - MM finally discovered what we needed and off we went - wow what a great place to visit and somewhere I never thought I would go. The graffiti art was cool!
After ending upside down in the grass, some racuous laughter and much swearing from the other party - the cache was finally located. Life is about creating more happy moments and this was certainly one for me.
TFTC Max - FP from me for the laughs.

OMG, where do I start.
I didn't have anytime to read through all the cache pages in the series before tonight but we figured we had the gist of the idea. How wrong was I, how wrong were we both.
We headed for "GZ" down the bike path then off into the park area over to where we thought the cache was. We climbed up and started our search of anything and everything we could see while a dog in the distance continued to bark at regular intervals. As time was getting away, we resorted to the hint. Steep incline...check, small drain...check, white circle...ahhh nope. Around in circles we went for what seemed like half an hour or more without luck. If your ears were burning Saturday night Crew153, then that was probably my fault. We both seem to give up at the same time and began reading past logs. Pretty much straight away we saw our mistake in thinking this was GZ. I flew back up the hill, checked a few spots thoroughly this time and bingo, we have wp1.
We took the scenic route as there was pretty much no water and unfortunately very little art work as well. We pushed on through the long wet grass to within 20m of GZ. In front of us stood a really wet area full of rubbish, thick long grass and a fence. So it was either back track or find an alternative way around. I picked my way through more long grass, over a creek, through some brambles and finally up to GZ but where is it.
It was probably another 10min before I finally spotted the white circle and of course the cache. What a relief to finally have the cache in hand.
No doubt it would be a heck of a lot easier during day light hours but where's the fun in that?
With the log book finally signed with two more names it was just a matter of weaving my way back down and back to the car.
Thanx for the adventure C153, I won't forget this one in a hurry.

I replaced a new cache in place a couple of weeks ago but have forgotten to log it until now.
Where do I start with this one!! A big THANKYOU and this CO rocks!! The adventure to this one started in April 2015 when I collected information for WP1 at the previous cache in this series. My memory had faded with what I needed to do to finish this one and after getting a little muddled I messaged the CO. Who was ever so helpful and he corrected my very serious error. He then met up with me at GZ and led the way to this one. So in the end a nice easy guided find was made for me! A big thanks for the cache Crew 153, can't wait to grab a few more in this series.
Out with NurseyJulie and her geodog to pick up a few caches. We parked nearby and made our way to the waypoint. NurseyJulie went one way and I tried to go the other way. If there is an easy way and a hard way to get somewhere, I always seem to take the hard way :s Before I knew it, NurseyJulie had the information required. We entered the new coords into our phones. Oh, we have to go there! Do we go the long way or the more adventurous way? We decided to be adventurous! We walked along and then across and then a small bit of up. NurseyUlie quickly located the cache, exactly where the hint said it should be. We added our names to the log just as the rain began again. We made fast work of getting back to the car before our way became impassable
We reached the co-ordinates and I looked at the most likely spot and scrambled up. Took a photo and checked the map where to next. Oh over there.. do I drive or take the adventurous route.. particularly bearing in mind it was raining. So Selvagirls, geodog and I scrambled down and along.. a little wet - and made it to the GZ and found it in position as per the clue. As we ventured back to our cars, it started raining again, so quick smart we walked the route we came in. A nice adventure for this one and last for the day before heading home to dry off. I was looking for an "M" for "Spell September" and this suited nicely as it was also a Puzzle cache giving me my 4 cache types so it was the obvious choice.
We were heading up this way anyway to go to a day session of the "War Room", which is a must see by the way, it was fantastic, so travelling on a bit further wasn't an issue.
The beauty of this search was I already had the final locked in and was surprised, even shocked to see that I had done the first half a month short of 2 years ago!!!!!!!!!
I had almost been successful last time getting to within 40 metres of the final but at that stage there were major pipe works going on around GZ and I was scared off by the presence of numerous workers in the area.
With coords already I didn't have to use the long approach again or endure anything like poor TeamTinda did and was able to head straight for the prize, maybe I had blocked the first journey from my memory.......... or I'm getting old and forgetful!!!
I found the hole that previous finders had referred to but had approached from the right direction so didn't have to try and squeeze myself thru it!!
I had a little trouble locking in on the hint but once I did the cache was quickly found safe and almost sound!! The lid is suffering a bit from the weather but the log was in good condition so was easy to sign.
Thanks Crew 153 TFTC SL TNLN

Our 4th Mimosa Series today out with RoddyC.
Armed with coordinates we headed in.
It took a little while to find what we needed and Mrs RoddyC came up with this.
Off we headed down a long tunnel, not one bat here and no pictures in this one.
Arrived at the other end and headed off to find the cache.
I went one way and RoddyC went another and they spotted the cache but I was able to retrieve it as I was closest.
Signed the log and retrieved the coordinates for the next ones.
TNLNSL TFTC Thanks Crew 153 All good with this cache

Having placed the starting coordinates on Google Maps, we decided to drive to the closest point along Freesia Street. We saw a likely entry point where the bikeway meets the roadway, and entered there. On coming closer to GZ, we realised it was going to include a short bit of bank-climbing and bush-bashing. So it did. We wandered around a bit, slipping down here and climbing back up there. Couldn't make much sense of the "white circle" part of the hint (maybe it was overgrown?). Anyway Mrs RoddyC was at the top of things, and spotted the coordinates, and was soon joined by Team Benders. Meanwhile, I was further down the embankment trying to make sense of the "white circle".
Then we realised what the CO had told us - we could drive around the other side of the Freeway and try to enter form Logan Road, or transverse UNDER the freeway in the culverts.
After a brief inspection, we decided on the latter. Water was no problem today, and nobody got "soggy socks". [:o)]
At the other end of the tunnel, it was an easy walk across the recently cut grasses to GZ. Mrs RoddyC and I crossed the small creek while Team Benders followed a sort-of geo-trail up and along the top of the concrete. On the other side, Mrs RoddyC spotted the cache, but as Team Benders was closer, she retrieved it. All signed and replaced, we then made our way back to the GeoFalcon.
That was a fun adventure. Found at 4.45pm on 2nd September 2015. TFTC.

Out with bennyboppers, misssusan and remsjw today. We found ourselves on the wrong side of the fence but went back , down and around to get to right spot to find the waypoint. With that we made our way to the tunnel, hmmm it looks a little wet at the other nd. We decide to walk through anyway, we got to the other end, it was getting a little softer under foot, then very soft and I nearly went A over which gave the others a little giggle. We decide to drive around and I found a place to park. A quick run in from here and all was well here. Tftc
We're going on a cache hunt, we're going to find a big one, what a beautiful day and we're not scared. Well maybe just a little scared! We can't go over, we cant go under, we'll have to go through. Nope not through either. We had to go around! Squishy Squashy, Swishy Swashy and at last a smilie!
Out with Tough Mothers checking out the M1 drainage system. All is good with that and the cache.
I'd left this one for the dry season and was still a bit dubious but it was pretty straight forward with no need to cross fences. Thanks for introducing me to a beautiful part of the waterway (waypoint side).
I was nearby again today and thought I'd give this one a go. Little did I suspect what ups and downs awaited!
I knew of probably the nearest parking spot, so went straight there. A couple of logs suggested that walking straight down the bike path was not the G-O, so I braved a bit of grass and very soon found a handy hole in a fence. It was pretty small but just big enough for me to wiggle through and drop down into a concrete drainway. Much of it was covered in water and/or slime so after a few steps, I discovered I was at a lot of risk of slipping badly. I walked very slowly indeed for perhaps a hundred metres, until reaching a sharp decline straight down to another waterway covered in running water (there's been a fair amount of rain in recent days though today was entirely sunny). As I looked down into the water, I was a little disturbed to see living creatures moving at speed back and forth. For some reason, I had a sudden fear of water snakes but when I looked closer, they were just little fish. Glancing to my left, I was amazed to see at least two turtles frolicking on a log. Cool!
Next step: remove shoes and socks, leave them up on the wall, jump up and haul myself down using the fence. The water was then nice and cool on my feet. Across and up to the WP... Thank God there was nothing spiky and that the coords popped up just as I began to get worried about them. On my way down, I made a very benign move to avoid a bit of spikiness and 'riiiiiiiip'... What was that? Surely not the sound of the seam between my legs ripping? Oops... Well, the afternoon was just looking better and better now...
Still barefoot, I selected my passage of choice and again wandered slowly through, hoping I wouldn't step on anything.
Out at last, it was a case of up, around, leaving my shoes somewhere, along and through the fabled hole in the fence, spotting the cache, retrieving it with some mild difficulty, reading the log with interest, and then making it all the way back again... All in bare feet. Retrieved my shoes, then down and through... Everything happened in reverse from then, though when I had to climb back up the slippery slope using the fence (and holding my shoes in one hand), a vine pulled my hat off so I had to climb back down to retrieve it. Then the long step by step retreat. I had managed to avoid bleeding throughout this mission, but managed to step on a small plant spike somewhere along this drain. Ouch! Still, it was easily fixed. As I pulled myself up through the final fence, my pants sustained more damage, and I decided this would be their last day. They were already pretty old and going down fast anyway...
Back to the car and I left pretty pleased nothing had gone really bad! What an adventure. I reckon it's a D2/T3 but very memorable. TFTC which is of course going on my famous list of caches that nearly killed me. Has anyone else found it almost entirely in bare feet?

Got the coords for WP1 this morning. Didn't plan to go for it but almost accidentally found myself nearby. I drove past a few people's front doors looking for a nice access point but let it go when I decided I was not dressed appropriately for my usual heroics over the terrain which beckoned. Hope to be back soon.
cache find #1785. We had made this find a lot harder than it should have been, only because we hadn't read the description, and assuming it was like others in the series. We made our way to the given coords, and searched until we didn't come up with anything, so gave the CO a PAF for some guidance. Once the penny had dropped and information from the co, we made our way to the cache GZ. It certainly was an experience for Mrs GT54 who hasn't done many tunnel walks before.
Once the cache was found, log signed, info gathered , we then replaced the cache as found. TFTC.

This is a cache that has been on my mind since January, when I first attempted it, on a rather hot summers day. I made the choice to turn back around 40m from the cache.
On the previous occasion I had parked on the otherside and made my way to the WP which was quickly found. I tentatively took the most direct route towards the coords figuring out basically where it should be, but not really feeling inclined on the day to trek though the long shoulder height grass. Although I looked at a couple of other potential options, none really looked to appealing, so I walked away with a DNF that day.
So I let it go and on a number of occasions have passed by the area just not really finding an appropriate place to park or such.
However today I figured I need to make a find to keep the streak going (currently at Day 51) and also A mystery find to grab the souvineer for August. So today was the day for this find, and knowing a few others had managed to make the find in the last month or two I knew it was definitely possible to access it.
So I parked at the big shopping center near by and set out on foot towards the area. Maybe not the closest access but pretty much easy walk. Even though I thought I had the coords somewhere I decided to go on memory and instinct for the most part.
This got me to within about 3m of the actual hide, but not being able to really pinpoint what I was looking for or exactly where in the area, I had to look back and see if I could find the coords in my phone or something. Soon though they were in hand and added as a way point. Although to be honest this did not help much as only having the iPhone with me it basically said I was standing on top of the cache.
So what else could I use I decided to take a look at the hint, and this again right away did not help a lot either, But after pushing out my search area little from the spot I started at, I soon recognised the first part of the hint, and soon had the second in sight, with the container very quickly after that.
TFTC, very happy to turn this frown upside down.
As a side note, this also turns out to be my 150th logged puzzle.

Ye gods Max!
Better settle on the couch with a cup of tea (me, I'm having a stiff drink 'cos I deserve it) as this was quite the adventure. We have already ascertained that I'm always on the wrong side of the creek, and I took the Terrain 5.5 route to WP1. Yup, there was an obvious place to cross but I missed that
So, on with the tale...
On this drizzly afternoon I got wet, had to brush ticks off my clothes, fell off an embankment under a bridge and hurt my butt, got poked in the (sore) eye by a branch, slid down a muddy slope and did my back, and have a nasty bruise on my leg from walking into a tree branch. Surprisingly, I didn't get arrested at THIS cache doing my best impression of a meerkat! Geez, it was fun though.
Oh, and here I added a smelly, muddy foot soak to my list of woes At least the Council has been busy slashing the long grass near the tunnels. WP1 took me forever to find as I thought the clue applied to it, and got fixated on a small drain (as you do). Then as I was thinking it was a no go, I spotted something a bit higher up the slope... Yes, the steep slope I had been trundling up and down for some 20 minutes.
It would have been pointless to quit then. Off I went into the abyss. Yikes! Found a discarded set of bedsprings in the tunnel but nobody in there, thank the Goddess. Tried hard not to slip. Apparently I was saving myself to run into a pointy stick on the other side! Like those who came before me, I felt a bit wicked wandering about here. I followed Mr Garmin through long, scratchy, itchy grass and was grateful for a bit of a geotrail made by previous lunatics, I mean cachers.
At GZ, I also did what others have done, and crawled though the hole in the fence. I have no idea why, but heck, it was there so it must be meant for me Slunk over to the concrete wall and poked my head up... he he! Now that was fun!!! Luckily no buses but by the time I wandered back down a bit, a bus did trundle past. Who knows why, but I spent a lot of time here looking for the 'marking' in the Hint. How hard did I make that? Eventually I looked up and there it was. From there, the cache was soon in my hands
All the way back again although I chose a different tunnel this time. The water was deeper but by now I did not care. Care had gone out the window!!! Back to the path and decided to see where it led. Actually, it led back to where Sooty was parked and I reckon it was a much easier way to go. Brushed off a coupla little ticks.
Pretty awesome out of the box cache here, bud! A FAVE from moi.
On we rolled, let's see what else we can get done today with wet socks...
TFTC Crew 153! A really neat series

TFTC Crew 153! A really neat series
Set off with boundless energy this morning, Unfortunately this one is a DNF for me today. Looked in two places, thought with the hint I would be fine, sadly not. I will move on with the series and come back to this one in a group.
I headed over to the 'dark side' of town for a few more of this Mimosa Series after being side tracked by a location scout for an upcoming multi of my own (no-where near here!). I arrived at what I thought was the best possible entrance and walked towards GZ. Hmm no entry there (and that wouldn't have been a Crew Cache anyway!). track around to a better spot, and a very faint geotrail led me to what I was looking for. Having not read the cache description, it was a lucky find indeed as it was not what I had expected to find.
As I headed back to the car I had an epiphany - take the path of least resistance! (did I mention that I had not read the cache description?). What a great thing to do! It surely brings out the child in us all...a little adventure, a lot of fun, a smudge of fear and just a touch of feeling naughty! I resisted the need to hear my own echo!
I made my way to Waypoint 2 and though wondering if I really had to go through that, I soon made my way to GZ. Soon after a cache in hand. Such a joy to find such an old cache.
No shortcuts back to the car (though I did try!)
Great locale and great trip all around. Fave Pt for me for making me feel naughty!.

This one has taken far too long to complete. We found WP1 last year with dansync before heading overseas for 7 months. DiamonJs invited us to finish Mimosa so we happily agreed. Having eying this one up for ages we knew exactly where to park but didn't know the best way in. Thankfully patrol14 and eatmorchikin made a nice geotrail through the long grass. We went through, up and over, then found it. TFTC Crew153. Mrs THR thoroughly enjoyed the pumpkin we found growing in your pumpkin patch.
FINALLY FOUND THE BLESSED CACHE. This was not a pleasant challenge. Scratches, mozzies, smelly water, long grass, and took far too long. Be careful of the long drop next to the cache.
No. 3 for the day. This was an all round adventure for us (Mummy, Daddy, Eloise 4 and Lincoln 2). We only loaded the first waypoint for the Sandpit into the GPS and headed off in the car. I had quickly read 2 of the cache descriptions for this series before leaving home and they both said the same thing so I didn't think there was any extra info to take with us. So blindly we start looking for a cache at the said co-ords. Firstly daddy had us all wandering along the cycle path next to the freeway. He didn't listen to me when I kept saying there wouldn't be a cache out here. I felt very unsafe with the two kids on the cycle path as I know how fast some cyclist go. Finally Daddy decided the cache was behind the fence. We all scrambled about the rough, uneven and steep ground looking without success. It just didn't feel right for me and I couldn't imagine anyone placing a cache here. We sent Daddy off for a look and he came back empty handed. So off I went and I quickly came back advising I had found some co-ords. We decided to womble through the dark drain tunnel (the kids loved the dark and the fact that they could make echoing ghostly sounds in it!). Next we were in grass over the kids heads (luckily they aren't too worried about this!). Before we knew it we were climbing up steeper and steeper and the path was getting narrower and narrower and then there was a big drop. Holding on tightly to both kids I told Daddy to go off. He went off and came back empty handed. I went off, assessed the area and where a cache would or wouldn't be and to my surprise found it. Since coming home I have read the cache description and gone Ah ha. And I also looked at the hint. If you cache using hints (which we don't) this would be a very easy multi. I think of account of the excellent adventure and the overall fun we all had I will give this cache a favourite point. Thanks Crew153. Kids are both tucked up in bed having a nap after being out exploring for 3.5 hours. We only managed 3 caches of the series in that time but 3 are better than none!.
Finally I got it. I have been in Australia 2 months, over 50 Australian´s caches found, but this was absolutelly most difficult. I like style of Crew 153. Thank so much.
Aggh - what can be said about this cache. I started this one a few months ago with geoson but we ran out of time before we could find GZ. So this morning I headed out with the aim to finally finish this one. What hard work. A couple of routes to GZ - one brought me to long grass which did excite me at all so I turned around to try the other option - aggh thick mud. 10m of that and I had had enough - so turned around to try route1 but with a twist. It turned out to be the better option despite a panic attack close to GZ that I might have a fence to scale - a fence that I had been avoiding scaling. But a hole in the fence was a relief to find.
This was one of the toughest cahces to get to that I have done and for all the wrong reasons gets a favourite for me. I don't know how you find these places Crew153 - you must have lived nearby as a kid and spend every daylight hour exploring. Great work. TFTC

Things fell apart for me here. Again through not reading the description it was only now, that I realised this was a multi. I though no problem, and found WP1 without much problem. Based on where I was and the info I now knew I headed through the cloest option (which seems really dark right in the middle)
Anyway get to the other side, and very little water so pretty easy, keep going around towards the cache and come up about 35m short of the prize. With extremely dense almost shoulder high grass, I really did not want to take a chance in.
I did head around and take a look at the other option from the other side but seems to much water sitting that way. Will just have to come back with a weed whacker I think.

A sunny Saturday to be out and about looking for geocaches.
Today's goal was to finish the Mimosa series.
On my GPSr, when I go to the Description, I also get the HTML formatting text. I missed the bit about the cache ALSO being a multi. After much swearing and cursing and 2 'Phone a friend' calls I finally worked out what I was looking for. And I was sitting right next to it.
Whoever said "having 4600+ finds made you smarter than others" hasn't cached with me.
In the end the container was an easy find......once I got there.
Onto the next one. [^]
Thanks for the cache(s).

EggInTheSky and I were out and about on a quest to clear the Mimosa series in one evening. We had covered the first three and were on our way to the M1. Before I get to the log proper I have a little aside to insert.
I am always pleasantly surprised when something I learnt at University actually comes in handy. Relevant to this log, I got pretty good at jumping fences during my graduate studies.
This was while I was at Cambridge. While I was there I was at Clare College. You probably haven’t heard of Clare, but if you’ve seen photos of Kings Chapel from across the green, the pretty college in the background is Clare.
To get to many parts of the town from Clare it was easier to go through Kings. All fine, except that for some reason the Kings porters would tend to lock the gate you needed to get through to use this route. Hence being able to get over this fence was an important skill to master. This fence would be about 8 foot high with decorative spikes at the top.
Anyway back to the log. We parked close to the coordinates for the first waypoint and made our way towards it. This cache is a great one for demonstrating how much trouble you have as a pedestrian about a motor way. So we had checked the maps and of course the waypoint is on a long and impassable barrier. (Yes much more than 8 foot and no handy, spikes to grip onto). Uhm yes but which side…
So we schlep up along to a break in the barrier and decided to look on wrong side first. This involved getting over a guard rail about four and a half foot tall. This is what bought on the recollection of my Uni days and also a fair bit of mirth (which I had to keep on the inside) as Egg had to navigate the same problem. Of course she was as graceful as a gazelle springing over the rail [:p] (obviously having made the mistake of attending lectures and studying and such like, and not learning how to navigate fences, while at Uni).
So we walked to very close to the waypoint and back, jumped the guard rail again and then started along the other side of the barrier to WP1. This was when we started wondering how on earth Crew 153 managed to find all these locations…
Armed with final cords we tried the fast route to GZ. Then recent rains made this both muddy and ultimately futile. So we were back to the Eggsmobile to make the drive around to the alternate approach. In the end we got to GZ via a couple of holes in fences, some thick grass, another dozen spider webs and a steep slope.
The cache was a quick find after that and we grabbed the cords for the next caches. This would usually be the end of my log, but the log book in the cache is a real treat and we spent quite a bit of time reading through previous entries.
One that took my notice was from Brummy. I never knew him, but I have adopted one of his caches and recently managed to find Berocca Gold. It was an odd experience to be signing in a log after him. I saw that the tape measure he had traded was still in the cache too! What a funny time capsule this cache is.
Thanks for the cache Crew153, took Brummy’s tape measure, left steam punk decorated 20 sided die.
And with that pause for reflection we were off to track down McGregor.

2nd time lucky. I came the most prepared I had ever been for a lunch time ninja cache. Boots, headlight, stickers, biros....
I still came the lower way as I found this the most accessible. At least I could see where I was going this time! The cache was only 3 or 4m from where I was last... I just got stuck on a certain place last time & didn't widen the search area. Rookie mistake!
I enjoyed reading all the paper logs from long ago on this cache. Mr LLJ has a potty mouth, doesn't he .
Cheers Crew for checking this after my DNF, and for the find. Never shall I return!

Unfortunately I had chosen this one to try to keep the August geostreak going. I had started this one some time ago so had the final co-rods but was never really confident of making it to the final WP safely. It's been dry for a while so I thought I'd try today. I took the low down way to the final then scrambled to GZ. Why the white shirt again today? I saw a few blue tongues and a wallaby on my way. I couldn't find the cache but found a place that matched the hint. Eventually I put in a PAF to the CO in desperation, not really wanting to come back if I could help it. The CO confirmed I was in the right spot. There seems to have been quite some water down here. The good news is that all the construction has finished!
I have some photos of suspected GZ I'll send through or show to the CO. always an adventure! Cheers Crew153

I was out and about when PJATPAC called so I was working from memory. I haven't been back to the location for some time.
On the way back I dropped past and checked on it. The route to the cache is still a bit of a struggle but the cache is snug in it's hiding hole. It was visible as I approached. 1m from the white circle.

Out and about with teamdfl for 2 crazy days of hunting
Back again to have another bash at this series as dfl had got stuck here, too. We both had the corrected co-ords and had found WP1, so we took the shortest route possible to GZ. We had to be pretty strealthy as there were workers in the compound as we walked by, and then we had to dodge them to make use of the 2 access points Soon arrived at GZ and made a very quiet hunt, and dfl found the cache. Noted the clues, so onward again TFTC, Crew 153.

Out with IolantheK for 2 days of fun and adventure. Our travels today brought us close to this, so we decided to give it a go. Made our way around to GZ and made use of the very convenient access point. After a quick hunt the cache was in hand and we could continue with the series again.
Looks like I shalll have to come back to complete this one I went to the wrong side at first, then spent ages trying to work out how to reach WP1 from the right side. Then the rain started It was a slippery wander to WP1, but a short search soon gave the new co-ords. Headed off to a place where I thought I could walk to GZ, but realised it was private property. Another day Off to try another one in this series.
Feathertop seems to have told most of the story of our adventures of this cache. It was spread over a couple of days. Our time was running out up here so this morning we needed to finish this cache to continue with the series. We walked down from where we were staying and got around the workmen (on a Saturday morning?) because their heavy machinery drowned out any other sounds.
We had a bit of a search at GZ as the GPSr didn't want to settle. Got there eventually.
Grabbed clues and fled.
Thanks, Robmc.

Rob and I were determined to continue the mimosa series this morning and the only way forward for us was to find the M1 cache. A couple of days earlier late inthe evening we went to where we thought the final was going to be only to read the cache description which said a waypoint only. Lucky we read that as we found the waypoint but were too tired to trek over or under to the final spot which sounded tricky.
So we set out early on Saturday morning just a short walk from our accommodation. Construction work was afoot below but we skirted that, found the critical 2 holes in the fence and began a search of a weed infested and steep slope. Somehow Rob stumbled upon it and we now had the way ahead to the remaining caches. Wow, this one is a toughie! Nice to see Dak's name in the logbook too!

Relogging this under individual account, previously a member of Gaz'n'Kab account.
At the first WP we decided to send in Captain Terror for a look before figuring out how to get there. finding the WP was a bit of trouble for us as a muggle came to turn on the pump... but we had the info in hand not long after he left. We then made our way down, under then back up to GZ after abit of a hunt around we had the cache in hed
