I was working from a very old printout and had not checked recent logs until after I had spent 20 mins crawling all around GZ. Great spot with or without a cache.
As there's been no cache to find or log to sign for months, I'm archiving it to keep it from continually showing up in search lists, and to prevent it from blocking other cache placements. If you wish to repair/replace the cache sometime in the future, just contact us (by email), and assuming it meets the guidelines, we'll be happy to unarchive it.
Dissapointed not to find. Hopefully it's still there, we just didn't have time to do too much of a thorough search.
Found with MtnLioness on our week-long sightseeing, touring and caching tour of Tasmania.
Well we found it - a single log sheet and a small plastic lock bag, but that was all - and a good 10m away from the platform. Upon closer examination of the platform, we can see by the scuff marks, where it went, but the container and the rest of the log book is GONE.
So, we signed the single log sheet, placed it in the plastic ziplock bag and then placed it AT THE CENTRE of the platform, carefully hidden. The owner might like to put a new container there, seeing as the cache has obviously been desecrated. Thanks for the nice views too.

Found in the company of MtbikerOz (Dad) on our week of Touring and caching around Tazzie.
Have only been able to log these once we got back to Melbourne.
Find as per Dads log.

Very nice Spot, we had to search a little while, but our Eagle Eyes found the Place. But the Box was a little wet inside. TFTC

There wasn't much of view since it was well after dark. Even my torch couldn't do a thing. Anyway it was a nice stroll

A Ducks feet are not meant for this sort of stuff but I battled on and found cache, TNLN
A nice easy find and a great view. I would HIGHLY recommend taking the cache to solid ground before signing. I made the mistake of dropping the log and pen under the platform while trying to get it back into the box. It was an interesting recovery while in thongs and avoiding muggles.
Lovely walk off the beaten path, managed to muggle someone else looking for it so we commiserated about being new to this stuff and working out how to use our GPS's well worth the effort of the climb up from the Gorge.
Found during a leisurely walk around the gorge, just not so leisurely to walk up to this cache. Fantastic view, amazing hiding location. Took about 30 minutes, then a previous log noting 'camo' was read and common sense kicked in. This cache is most rewarding when found!
Found at 3.15pm. The log book was pretty wet, I squeezed as much water as I could out, then replaced the plastic bag. I was really careful replacing the cache...TNLNSL. TFTC
Walked over from Where Eagles Dare. A lot more people on this side of the park on this holiday. TNLN. TFTC Michael and Mob.
It would have looked weird if we'd gotten sprung by a muggle searching for this one! 4 of us feeling all over this structure, hmm.
EB13 eventually got an opportunity to locate this in between muggle visitations. The Chief was grateful as his vertigo was probably giving him some grief here. We stepped onto the path before opening the cache in case we dropped something! TFTC
A good reason to head on up the zig zag track. Did the track proper to try and make up for all of the Christmas eating that was going on. Found quick and easy which is good as other people were about to arrive. Thanks.
Quick and easy found at a beautiful location. On our way back we met a wallaby and an echidna. TFNC

No snakes here today thank goodness. Late log with JDSavannah on our Tazzie trip. TFTC
I was at a meeting in Launceston so took a jog/walk in the Gorge. I got half way up the hill from the Basin before my legs said NO. Soon found and logged the cache. Thanks.
Found it after a long search, but it was in the most obvious spot. Great hide.. TNLN
Just what we needed! An uphill walk to start the day!! The views in the end were worth it, the find went to the geoQueen from skullracer1

#703 @ 10.25am on our Tassie Caching Adventure with DazzPete. A fantastic view after the short walk up to GZ which is a great photographic point so come with a camera.

Geowife announced 'No more caches for a while please' then added 'But I would like to go to that lookout high above the gorge'.
Found the cache in the last spot that we looked. I wasnt planning on leaving the platform until the bag for the log book blew over the edge. It was quickly retrieved and the cache returned to its hiding spot. TFTC.

The walk to this cache was very similar to other walks today - steep climbs along rough paths. There were great views as we approached GZ and at GZ. There were very limited places to hide a cache at GZ and so, the cache was quickly retrieved. TFTC
A bit of exercise to get this one but an easy find and a good clean hide..TNLN Thanks
Photographer muggles taking lots of snaps had me looking at the view for ages. Great location!! TNLN
Another find by Mrs Pigbag who is starting to think like a Geocacher, thankfully as Mr Pigpag struggles. Cached in, took nothing and left nothing, and unfortunately had plenty of trash out!
Great spot. TFTC.

Another great cache. A little bit of thinking involved to locate cache. Clue is very helpful.
What a fantastic place. There was a bit of searching here but soon had the cache. Bit harder getting it back with a couiple of muggles about but they were too interested in the view to notice what we were doing. TFTC
Came in the easy way past the controversial house on stilts. Great views and a great hide. TFTC
Nice cache for an evening walk. It was in the position I thought but not the place I picked. Found after a bit of searching. The GPS was right on it once it settled.
Well this will have to be a DNF . Had fun getting to the location, but even after disobeying the clue, still couldn't located the cache. Maybe next time with a fresh set of eyes. Cheers and thanks for getting us up to this location anyway.
I got some much-needed exercise getting to this cache after skipping some sessions at a conference I'm attending in Launceston (please don't tell anyone)
After much penitence I found the cache and signed the log. Great views from here. TFTC michaels mob

While visiting Launceston, we wanted to pay a visit to Penny Royal World,
but after arriving it proved to be closed for renovation so we started a nice,
but strenuous walk along the south side of the Tamar River. While walking
there, I checked if there were any caches near and this one (along with his
brother on the other side) came up.
The cache location was found rather fast. The cache itself took a little longer,
especially since I am afraid of heights ..... But we finally located the container
and could sign the logbook with our name.
Michael (with mob), thanks for this perfectly placed cache at a very nice
location !

Coming here bought back some lovely memories of our wedding at the Gorge only 3 months ago The view is spectacular! Cache is good condition and the colour blends in really well!
It took some searching on bended knee to find this one, then some muggles turned up just as we were about to return it. We hung around pretending to take photos until they offered to take one of all of us. Then they retreated up the path a short way for just long enough to rehide the cache and get on our way. I have a sneaking suspicion that they were also there for the cache, but didn't say anything in case they weren't...
My first find in tassi. What a great place the gorge is and so close to the city. Took our little boy on a walk around the gorge. Well worth the effort. Enjoyed the views from all the different angles. Thanx for the find
After a big day doing touristy things in Devonport I left Mr red tag and the little red tags at the Hotel to have a rest while I went on foot to find a few caches in the Gorge.
It was fairly late in the day (and raining) but I had everything I needed for some night caching. The walk up the hill was good exercise and the view from the top late evening was spectacular even with the fog and the rain
Nice one michaels mob

Sneaky Hide. Thankfully Sparklellama was prepared to put in the effort...after climing over the tree blocking my path I wasn't willing to be any more adventurous. Edgy find!
A fun grab. I like this kind of "everyone goes there but nobody realises its a cache" kind of thing. Nicely done. TTFC!
Sorry for the late log. I decided to go see the gorge on my day off. There was a tree blocking the path down to the cache, but I was able to scramble around it and grab the cache. Signed log and moved on. TFTH.

Due to the dreadful weather we decided to take the easy option to this cache. Was very impressed by the pole house near the parking area. Nice hide! Had to wait for a few muggles to leave. Seems everyone is visiting the gorge to see it in flood. Had a bit of trouble opening the cache. Beaut colour matching!! TFTC
Clever little hide. Rust may be an issue as it was hard to open but inside was fine. TFTC
Took the easy way to find this cache. Fantastic view from the lookout. Beautifully hidden. Signed log

This is a really clever hide, good to see so much effort put in for what should be a muggle-proof cache. TNLNSL. TFTC.
Had a muggle that wouldn't leave. I sat down to wait him out, but I think that made him more suspicious. He'd move back a few feet and sit there. Then move back a few more feet on the trail and sit there. And again. Even up the switchback. He must have decided we were ok when goblindust did a little CITO. It also gave him the perfect opportunity to scout out the cache location. Once the muggle was gone for good we were able to pull it out and sign the log. Thanks!
I was in Launceston for work and staying overnight, so I was pleased to see this had been re-enabled before heading off on my afternoon's walk around the gorge. Very nice lookout and a very nice hide! TFTC!
Cache is back in its original form, it has been moved slightly to ‘hopefully’ make it more Muggle proof BUT this could also make it a bit harder to locate.
Also, after reading a few of the logs I have decided to ‘add’ a bit more info to the ‘hint’ which should make the search here a much ‘safer’ one.

Took a little bit of finding did this one. The magnetic forces are no longer functioning and the log was found adrift of its appointed place. This one will be out of action until a secure hiding place can be established again.
This is my second visit to this cache. The first time was just over 2 years ago and I just have forgotten to log the find. I have enjoyed the cache both times. TFTC
I missed this on the initial pass, and in the end, the otter saw it. Last Tassie cache this trip. TFTC.
After a morning walk into the first basin via the easy way, we decided to take the zig zag track back out so that put this cache on the radar. A marvellous lookout too! Thanks to michaels mob for bringing us to this spectacular spot! Cheers, HawMorFords.
Found this one after a nice walk with mini cachers in tow and their nan. Great views and great hide - almost thought it was part of the structure, especially when i thought it was stuck there!! Well cammoed and nice strong magnet.

We really enjoyed our time in Cateract Gorge and we must have spent a few hours in here doing walks and picking up the geocaches. Lovely views from this lookout. Very quite and scenic. TFTC...eatmorchickin and Stigglepot on honeymoon from Brisbane.

Parked close to this one, found the right street after a few false leads. Good hide and views. I liked the house on stilts, it would be great having that view to wake up to. Thanks michaels mob.

Had an hour to spare before the North Islanders in North Tassie Event so went to the easy parking spot and wandered down to the cache. Liked the hide and cammo. And the magnet - assigned Bradley to retrieve! Oh and the view and afternoon sun was lovely! And that house on super-stilts was amazing! Altogether an enjoyable way to fill in half an hour! Thanks michaels mob.
What a great view point. I would have probably missed this if it wasn't for the cache.
