The gorgeous scenery and clever hiding spot was 100% worth the mozzie bites I got while walking around admiring the plants and birds! I swapped some cool stickers for a cute little monkey keychain

TwoEms have a sweet tooth or two, and after having a few too many chocolate eggs over the long Easter weekend we are now addicted and in need of a sugar fixbut preferably without all the calories. Sweet Maranoa hit the spot. Such an attractive garden for native flora, and labelled like precious specimens too. It was like walking through a living gallerycandy for the soul.We found the hide in a particularly charming and sweet location, but our blood must have been even more saccharine, for as we sat down on one of the nearby benches to rummage through the swaps and sign our name, all the mosquitoes were madly falling in love with us.After making a trade, we found a trackable at the bottom of the container that wasnt listed herejust like finding an Easter egg, we look forward to passing along that joy.Thank you for the cache and for sharing this beautiful secret garden.

29-Mar-24
While picnicking on a marvellous day with the Geo Grand Kids in the adjacent Beckett park, thought it would be a good idea to pick up this cache in the beautiful Maranoa Gardens.. First try - a muggle sitting near GZ ......or was it another geocacher? Second try with the 4 GGKs in tow was successful after a short search. GGK No2 found her first cache. I think we have another convert. TFTC Team Crackers.

A very nice hide was found after a fair search, then Grub62 and I settled down on a nearby seat to sign the logbook and admire the waterfall. Sadly we were then noticed by a swarm of mosquitoes which spoiled this tranquil setting. I believe that this cache still deserves a favourite point which has been designated. Thanks team crackers for bringing us here and TFTC.

Out this morning with bunadoorian I decided a visit to this lovely park was in order. One of my work colleagues said this is his favourite place to come for a walk - so I thought lets go snd check it out. I soon had the cache in hand having read the description and the hint. TFTC Team Crackers and a favourite point from me.

The container was easily spotted on approach to GZ as it was poking its head out. I hid it a little better when returning it back spot. What a lovely little area to explore on a quiet Saturday morning. Thanks you keeping this golden oldie alive.

17-Sep-23
Was a hard cheeky find haha

30-Jul-23
An impromptu stop while in the area. A nice golden oldie and a beautiful location. How lucky are the locals here to have this oasis. At GZ l sat pondered, got up, pondered some more before spying the cache, but l had to wait for muggles to move on, which took some time because the little boy had a fasination with the water. So I sat back down to patiently wait..eventully got to sign the cache. It was such a beautiful park that i decided to go for a walk through it.

22-Jul-23
The geo kid and I found ourselves here whilst we wait for my other geo kid to finish Saturday Language School in Box Hill. What absolutely beautiful gardens we found here complete with a creek with running water over rocks. Overhanging branches of trees, park benches, birds chirping, paths to follow and so much more.

Most annoyingly we found a muggle sitting close to GZ. A very nosy muggle for that matter. One that was bird watching, stroking her love heart shaped crystal and writing in her journal. Well we thought we were done for and she will never leave. Time to come up with a strategy to retrieve the cache without her noticing. I went up to the muggle blocking her view of GZ and distracted her with conversation. Meanwhile I had the geo kid sneakily retrieve the cache, sign the log and return without the muggle noticing whatsoever. She was too busy showing me photos on her phone of the amazing birds that visit this park. I've never seen a Gang-Gang Cockatoo before. What beautiful colours.

After a somewhat lengthy interaction/chat with the muggle, we left to go an pick up the other geo kid as it was that time, but not before taking a little bit of a wander through the park on our way out. Magnificent plants and trees. A must visit if you find yourself in the area.

Thank you for bringing us here and the cache Team Crackers We give it a fav point

Nicely placed cache, luckily I had this spot to myself today which made things a bit easier. TFTC!

20-Jun-23
Today ManfredWolfgang, Knight_shift and myself decided to venture into this high traffic area and do some geocaching. We had a great time, and Manfred was admired, as usual. But perhaps he didn’t make it to this one really…

Thanks for the caches, Team Crackers

20-Jun-23
With a few souvenirs on offer this month, we teamed up with beckNmonts and her sidekick ManfredWolfgang to tackle the handbag series. Perfect day with plenty of stops along the way for Manfred to greet his adoring fan club.

A slight detour to pickup one of these precious golden oldies in such a beautiful location. Our first visit and it was a lovely walk to GZ. We did take awhile to find the cache, exploring areas that didn’t intrude on any of the gardens, till common sense prevailed and a perfect spot for a cache was soon discovered.

Thank you Team Crackers for the opportunity to visit these beautiful gardens.

18-Jun-23
The snuggle muggle and I decided to get out for a walk today and just enjoy some of the warmer sunny weather. I had remembered seeing the sign for the [Maranoa Botanic Gardens](https://www.boroondara.vic.gov.au/recreation-arts/parks-and-gardens/maranoa-botanic-gardens) on another evening when I was caching in the area, but I didn't get to explore them as the gates were already closed.

So today we decided to take our walk around them and enjoy all of the native flora. After an absolutely beautiful walk and enjoying all of the gorgeous plant life we decided to stop and try to find this cache.

After reading the cache page, about how the cache was not in any of the gardens we had an idea on which beacon the cache must be hidden. Luckily, the phone really honed in on the coordinates and the cache was quickly found in the first place we looked.

*Wow a September 2005 cache!*

Always amazing to find a cache that has been around for so long!

A big thanks goes out to [Team Crackers](https://www.geocaching.com/p/?guid=3e759bb5-6c22-465a-adbd-913815d537ab&wid=51869221-d7f6-4ae2-b66c-876f15d55614&ds=2) for the fun today and for keeping this cache going for all these years. TFTC.

**Cache Maintenance Status**

The cache container was in good shape and all of the internal contents were dry. The logbook seemed to be a few different pages of paper, but the one we signed was clean and dry with plenty of room for future cache finders to sign.

Found after a bit of a search. Happened to look in the right direction a spotted it from a few meters away. A beautiful garden.

Thanks for the Traditional Cache Team Crackers Smile

16-Apr-23
Nice quick find. GPS was all over the shop but read the description carefully and found and signed…. Now if these damn muggles would move on so I can put it back…

14-Apr-23
My GPSr had me fairly far from the cache. Did I wander off the trail? NO! I just applied the hint on the cache page and figured out where the cache should be. TFTC.

18-Mar-23
I used to live in Box Hill north, but never visited these gardens. But it took a cache to lure me in! I spent a little time looking in wrong spots on the wrong side of the bridge, but eventually got it right. I left a TB, then went exploring more of the gardens (and climbed the tower). Beautiful spot.

18-Mar-23
What a beautiful garden. Thanks for bringing me here. Left a couple of Serbian friends.

16-Mar-23
A lovely quick find in a beautiful place. Took TB and some swaps, left some others. TFTC

12-Mar-23
I was in the area and grabbed this cache as it was on my target list. The time was 4.40, and I figured I had enough time. As I was searching, I heard the gate creeekekeke shut and locked!!

A guy was in the area was running about with their kid, so I took some happy snaps of the trees and waited until they left. then I signed the log, dropped in a trackable and high-tailed it to one of the other exits! Luckily I got there just as the council guy was about to lock it. The sign says 5pm close, but I guess they were getting an early start. On the walk back to the car, I saw the other entrance was still open, and I wouldv'e only had to walk about 20m instead of 200m, lol.

Red Hot chilli peppers...under the bridge is a good song

21-Jan-23
Thank you for bringing us to these gorgeous gardens. The GZ felt like a magical fairy garden. Although we did suffer a few mozzie bites for our hobby in this instance. Our favourite thing is when caching reveals to us an unexpectedly delightful spot. Thanks for the cache large enough for swaps to bribe kids with - terrific on all counts.

05-Jan-23
Out on a Christmas break with sir_spectre, exploring southern Victoria grabbing lots of smilies, finding caches in LGA's and of course signing a few more challenges.
Thanks for placing this cache for us to find.

05-Jan-23
Stopped to get a cache or five in a new LGA. quick find.
Left with Mogni the day before Christmas to go down to Mount Gambier for Christmas Day. Then on the 27th left for Victoria. Plan A was to go to the Ottway Rangers, complete the Geo tour in Ballarat and then head to Geelong and take the Queenscliff ferry over to Sorrento then grabbing new LGA's on route to almost the New South Wales/Victoria border and the old 2001 cache near there. Also attending a community day event, a CITO and a couple of other events as well. Then head in to the high country and come back to SA in 11 days. Things didn't go to plan. Turns out that one of my almost new tyres was defective ( side wall blown out ) and blew in the ottway ranges on a narrow road in the rainforest, Drove to Melton to stay overnight and get a new tyre there, tyre machine broken and the other 5 tyre companies not open so off to geelong for a new tyre ( and some caches on the way and in geelong ) . The event we where going to attend in geelong didn't turn out, he was late by ALOT to his own event. Then to ballarat to same day since we had a b&b booked for the next few nights. Planned on getting the ferry at 1200 and ended up on the 400 pm ferry but we did attend a event and CITO in geelong. Then we drive into the rear end of a thunder storm with forecast 20 mm dropping for the next few days. Cancel the high country and change targets to letterbox D/T for fizzy grid only using letterboxes and same wirh the multi fizzy grid plus fizzy grid only using victorian caches plus any challenge caches we where near. Plus getting a few more victorian 2001 caches. And finally any caches that had 40 more more favourite points. Only got soaked to the bone for a couple of days but the water on the tracks was noticeable. On the return home tried to get the rest of the missing LGA's around the Melbourne CBD i missed in the last mega. Still a fun trip was had if not the planned one.

13-Dec-22
Beautiful park ️ Thanks for this one

22-Nov-22
With just a couple more days left in Melbourne, so I had to make the most of my time. I was concentrating on quick multi’s and ones as I was passing today. But things always change when a FTF or a new lab comes out. I had to have the car back by 3pm, so that put a little dampener on the full day of caching.
So I did the multi ending in 44 then I see this one ending in 45. Wow how cool to do two caches straight after each other and with the proceeding numbers. This was a quick find and a nice way to move on from here. I signed the log and moved onto the next one. Thank you for placing this one here.

06-Nov-22
The entry into this location under the massive vine is amazing. Beautiful park and lovely excuse to relax on the grass and soak up the calm. Cheers

30-Oct-22
Nice hide near the water Very Happy

23-Oct-22
It's a lovely spot to explore before going to find the multi. Good coordinates led us right to the cache and its hidey hole. Stamped and made a quick exit from the mozzies. TFTC.

30-Sep-22
A beautiful day to visit this park. It was a nice easy find in a peaceful spot.

22-Sep-22
What a magnificent park this is. Great spot and hide will have to come back with the family one day. TFTC

04-Sep-22
After a lovely walk around the native plants, some showing great colours, a clever hide was found. Thanks Team Crackers for a very suitable hide in these gardens. Enjoyed a seat and the view to easily spot this.

02-Sep-22
A beautiful area to wander around .. today I was hoping for a quick find as it looked like it was about to rain.. I dodged a few muggles who were wandering ever so slowly through the gardens and made the quick find when they disappeared from view. Thanks Team Crackers, I would never have known about this place if it weren’t for this cache

20-Aug-22
Beautiful gardens. Thanks for bringing us here. Cache found quickly.

20-Aug-22
Lovely park, thanks for bringing us here.

15-Aug-22
Was getting a car tyre repaired over on Canterbury Road and it was going to take about an hour and a half, so I hiked over to Sweet Maranoa as my nearest unfound.

It’s very peaceful here, and the cache was found safe and sound. Could do with a new logsheet, although the current one is kind of cute and a bit like a geocaching festival!

Took the cache over to sit with Harold whilst signing the log, then it was back over the hill for the hike back to the car again.

Out and about with PrezDough grabbing a few caches today and this was on the way.
We soon located the eucalyptus tree and very soon after found the cheeky hide.
We had to search all over for some space in the log, but eventually found an area.
The cache and container are in excellent condition, but the log is pretty much chockablock.
I visited 3 TB.
TFTC here TeamCrackers.

14-Aug-22
Found with CJDenno. Well that will get my statistics up. We walked into the garden and went to GZ. Thanks to the tree cover, our coordinates were off a little bit but we managed to find the place it was hidden. The log was unfortunately full, but we found a tiny space to write our monikers. The cache, container and log are in excellent condition.

I visited 4 TB

28-Jul-22
I had a good idea it would be there, but reading the description is definitely a big help in the search for this one. Had some muggles I had to dance around, but I think I was able to slip in and out without arousing too much suspicion. TFTC!

03-Jul-22
Description tells you everything you need to know...follow it to the letter! What marvellous gardens...so beautiful and tranquil. Be fab to have on your doorstep. Thanks for bringing us here and thanks for the cache

What an unusual spot.
Thanks for bringing us here today.
I refused to look where the cache actually was until last. Let’s just say nemesis.

15-Jun-22
My second attempt at this one; I arrived just after closing time last time. It helps to read the description! I was having trouble with GPS at GZ, and again, reading the description helped.

Great spot. Thanks for bringing me here Team Crackers.

30-Sep-21
Had to wait for ages for park workers to clear out, but got it!

30-Sep-21
Very cool hiding place. So many muggles around, we had to wait a good 20 mins trying not to look suspicious. The garden staff were doing works nearby.

28-Sep-21
Are we the only one who couldnt find it?
Spent half an hour looking around.
Found the bench and the eucalyptus tree but still the log nowhere to be found

19-Sep-21

Took a seat and had a look around. Found it. TFTC!

15-Aug-21
Had to wait to make my move as some kids were playing in the creek at gz. Once they left I took a seat and took in my surroundings. After a few seconds the cache presented itself and I was able to grab it and replace it without being seen. TFTC

15-Aug-21

31-Jul-21
Found it.

17-Jul-21
Nice! Great spot. Needs a new log though

28-Jun-21
We struggled to find this one, but through looking at the activity logs, we were able to gather that it’s in the line of sight of a bench!! That clue really helped us. First time geocacher with me and we had a blast!

Thanks for organising this!!

13-Jun-21
Too many muggles made it hard to obtain and put back. TFTC

09-May-21

After failing my mission to get eggs and bacon for everybody because the supermarkets are shut for anzac day morning, this seemed like the perfect spot to sit and reconsider my options.
Gorgeous gardens and upon my account and a more vegan breaky everybody agreed to come back here this arvo to attempt the nearby multi! Perfect Sunday!
Thanks Team Crackers for another great cache!

I went about this like it was very complex. Trust your instincts Smile TFTC

01-Nov-20
Whilst enjoying a lovely picnic lunch and catch up with my sons, I told them how their father and I were married in this very park. They were stoked to hear of this.
We then went on to do a spot of caching, and they loved the area this was hidden in. As there were a few muggles around, Jesse did me proud as he pretended to re-tie his shoelace as he stealthily replaced the cache. So lovely to share my hobby with them.
Thanks for adding fun to our special day by placing and maintaining this cache, Team Crackers

31-Oct-20
Having a picnic with some family in Beckett park. These gardens are beautiful. GZ seemed a bit wayward but with a wider search, still without leaving the path, we got to really enjoy the gardens and eventually uncover this cool container. TFTC
