As there's been no cache to find for months, I'm archiving it to keep it from continually showing up in search lists, and to prevent it from blocking other cache placements. If you wish to repair/replace the cache sometime in the future, just contact us (by email), and assuming it meets the guidelines, we'll be happy to unarchive it.
Every uncomfortable once we had read activity
Cars parked with single male occupants open toilet. Totally not the place to be.

Hunted round for quite a while before giving up as the park was giving my wife the creeps. She had no poblems with the previous find in a cemetery though. Should have checked the logs first, I suppose.
We gave this a quick look, but did not have success. Quite a dark hallow when down here after sunset.
On a business trip in Hamilton, but still have a bit of time for some walking and geocaching with my parents. Spent some time searching 4-5 hint objects and couldn't locate. Judging by the height of culverts around here, I'd say the water can get pretty high! Has it been taken away? Alouette955 was with me and didn't log his DNF.
That awkward moment when you think you are alone and then find 2 males in the bush. One sitting. The other standing. Unsure what they were doing but I decided to leave :-p
This is the second one that we haven't been able to locate in Edgecombe Park. Went to the GPS coordinates, found what we think was the correct tree - lots of great hiding spots but no cache.
Some work has been done in area so possible cache is gone, gps spotty too hut checked all the trees I could w/in 10_15m radius couldnt find in end.
Sad I come past this area every day on way to work and always wanted to come thru.

Took us a little while to find.. But we found it in the end. Definitely smaller than expected and camouflaged. Happy hunting! ❤️ - A
So so tiny! Not medium sized as suggested! No paper/pen to write anything and all papers in it were soaked! Otherwise a nice 2nd find. A clue: we left it higher than we found it, & wrapped up nicely
Out with Gap (of Fap and Gap) on a pleasant Anzac Day excursion. With three events in one day, Hamilton was definitely the place to be...
We seemed to be walking around this one until we discovered a grassy pathway heading into the trees. We could judge by the muddy, water-logged vegetation that this area gets flooded at times. The cache would obviously be higher up for safety... And it was. TFTC.

My sister lives nearby and after a long discussion I convinced her to come with me on my hunt. She was hesitant, but pleased with her first find. Signed: qCenturion & T.
Nice wander through a previously unexplored park with the dog, tree education for the rest of the family, tftc.
First time in NZ and Hamilton. Also found my first cache here.
Note is full. Need service.
Thanks For The Cache

This cache was on my list to fill in a hole in my "hidden month" grid, found while in Hamilton for a Dahlia show. Nice walk in here with my host. Thanks for the cache.
Gave up for now as I didn't feel safe at 8pm at night by myself. GPS jumping all over the show.. Hint was too vague considering environs! This cache is the closest one to my house so I'll be back.. With a friend
Lovely little park, with some spectacular trees. Loz enjoyed playing super-girl, snapping thick fragile branches. A difficult find, however, got there eventually, thanks..!!
Nice little walk. Our friends first geocache. Needs new log book and updated size to small
Cache a lot smaller than suggested. Wanted to drop in TB, but couldn't. Lots of cordylines to choose from.
GPS refused to work in the park for some reason. We started checking under every likely looking tree then realised the council had laid poison in this park (like all the others in Hamilton) and I didn't want my 4-legged team leader to come across any of it so we abandoned the search.
Lovely morning stroll after an over night rush visit to Hamilton. Just couldn't not find a few caches.
We stayed in Hamilton on our holiday tour through NZ. Found this box during an evening cache-walk .
Logbook is full, I found some space on the side.

Tried a night find after a Mooloo game, hard to tell trees apart, even getting to GZ was tough, found dry track and after numerous trees... Finally found but no room on log, put date on only.

Bored waiting to collect daughter from performance group, decided to have a little search .,..
I'm at an event at the Table Tennis Stadium. What do ya know.... Cache just down the path. Log is a bit damp and I filled the last free spot. I didn't have any paper to leave sorry.
found a place to stay in Hamilton and set off for a walk into town for a meal every thing here is very dry TFTC
A late evening walk near our accommodation to find this cache, Very pleasant. tftc
Staying in Hamilton for a few days. A morning walk from the motel discovered this cache. Picturesque spot and a great walk, a l ittle disoriented at the other end of the park and came out by the river. Made it all the more interesting
LOL, love the place that this cache is hidden, I don't think that any muggles will find it, very scenic spot as well!
After arriving at the motel and a little rest we went for a walk and looked for the close by caches. A short search here and an other one there finally revealed the cache.

Caching Weekend in the Tron while visiting family. A before breakfast walk, to a nice park. Thanks for the hide.
Found with the Seagnoid during an early morning walk. As he describes we somehow managed to turn this into a terrain 3 and higher difficulty! Found in the end after sorting out where we should really be looking and a bit of a grid search in the cabbage trees. TFTC psychrn, good to be taken to "secret" little walks like this one.
[green] Well, the Auckland Mega is over but there is no going home yet. Now it is the GeoTour South tour of some great caches between Auckland and Hamilton. Spent the night in Hamilton and now Edvern and I are up early - too early for the rest of our team, so we are off to do some caching while waiting for them to wake up.
Edvern and I were all over the place here. GPS had us to the right up the steep bank, so we were doing terrain 3 work on a terrain 1.5 cache. Once we spotted the error and clambered / slid back to the path the GPS was now telling us somewhere more sensible. Found it a few minutes later.

Nice quick find with the grand daughters who were going on a bear Hunt. Had to stop them going through the squishy mud though.
I found it. Eventually. Perhaps I should have looked up the type of tree mentioned in the hint before going to look for the cache. Thanks for teaching me a new tree name.
Hi and TFTC
What a great little walk from the motel we were staying in. A great opportunity for some fresh air first thing in the morning and not forgetting the little hill climb! Wicked! The contents of the container were very wet. Did a little swap and placed it back with a bit of cover, which may keep it drier - or not!

Took the kids for a scooter ride, though they did walk down that mean as hill! Being the school holidays there were lots of kids hanging out along the trail today, but we managed to avoid them and it didn't take long to find the cache! Cache was full of water, so emptied it out the best we could no left it more upright! Hopefully this helps keep it drier.

Little green container was half full of water I dried it out the best I could but may need replacing
An easy find in an otherwise cool damp part of town. Cache found Ok but waterproof log was wet, so my ballpoint pen sign-in was not terribly successful . TNLN. HOTA
160th find for The Great Scouts Australia Geocaching Competition 2013. Found with sunalo at night, TFTC psychrn.
I have been planning to get this one for a while but had to wait until I could get there in daylight...only just though, it was dusk as I left. Searched in a few places matching the clue before I found the right one. TFTC
Lovely area and no muggles this afternoon. I had to widen my search and abandond the GPS, just use my instincts. Found as per hint. t4tc
We really enjoyed our walk through this park, one we hadn't visited before. The amazing tree canopy at the far end which emerges onto Ulster street was a highlight. The cache itself was found quickly. TFTC.
A straightforward find in a lovely spot whilst out early this morning. The inside of the cache is wet and I tried to dry it out. The log sheet is also wet and I made a mark in black. Not sure how long it will last though! TFTC
Searched at the base of several multibranched trees but found nothing. Was beginning to think we haven't a clue about caching in NZ. Will keep trying.
Returned today to collect Little Fireman travel bug as he hasn't moved on and I thought he would like to visit The new Tamahere's Dark Day cache for a photo op. He'll probably travel to New Plymouth with us next weekend- we're walking the half-marathon.
Found quickly when we read the clue, but we were surprised at the small size of the cache. Now that we are home again I've read the other logs and realise it has been replaced, but I think the details should be changed to small size cache as we chose this one specially because we had fairly bulky travel bugs to send on their way. Fortunately we squeezed in the smaller one, so Little Fireman is now off on more adventures. Those waterproof log sheets are good as it doesn't take much moisture to make a log unhappy. As we emerged from the undergrowth we also encountered a slightly dodgy character- I don't know who got more of a surprise!
We have been following NZ flossy around this area and this cache was no exception.great find TFTC. Left a puzzle rubber.
We are so lucky to have these lovely green areas in the city - so nice, especially on this beautiful first day of spring TFTC
Pretty and well-maintained little park. My friend and colleague, Sheik's Princess, tried for this one a while ago, but got badly spooked on the path when a guy followed her. We went back today together so that we could log the cache, but won't be walking through there again. Very uncomfortable.
TFTC - tried this a while ago - was followed so I don't recommend going along. Take a fellow GC with you
Pleasantly surprised at the really lovely walk & surrounds around this area; wasn't what I was expecting after reading some of the old logs. Thanks for replacing the cache & bringing us here.
Thanks so much for replacing. Thought I get in quick, just incase it decides to grow some more legs.
Looked around found plenty of palms and green plants but no cache, gone bye bye????
It wasn't where I thought it would've been. Only one palm tree in the whole park .
