Hi All,

This is a not so shameless plug for a national cache hunting competition, running 1 June to 31 July this year.

Registration/entry is free, nothing to buy - 30 requirements will be released on 1 June, and to complete the game you use strategy and your caching skills to get the best score you can from 25 of them.

More information here (forum) : - http://forum.geocaching.com.au/viewtopic.php?t=5445&highlight=

and at the Fleet to Federation web page - http://cachinggames.com/fleettofederation/index.php

FtF is being run by Australian cachers for a bit of fun. Come and play!

Would you be interested in an Australian Geocoin? ADAcache, an ACT cacher is putting together a run of an Australian Geocoin - see photo attached. It will be a maximum run of 1000 and will be very collectable.

Please excuse using the event as a way to promote the coin - but a lot of people don't visit forums and they might see it this way.

ADAcache's email address is [email protected] - he will be happy to provide you details if you want them!

I wasn't at the event since I live on the oposite side of the world, but this looked like a good place to drop a stolen WJTB "Hope"

If you want to join in the fun and move it around too, just use tracking number JP1W3E .

Everyone who attended this years event give yourself a round of applause for made it the success it was.

There were a lot of new faces this years and with the growth of the sport I am sure we will see even more next year.

The reward for holding an event like this is when you get to meet such wonderful people all in one location and can appreciate what a wonderful community geocaching is.

Thank you all for enriching the lives of this team and the wonder lifestyle change you have given us by association with you and seeking out your caches.

I would like to thank all those people who made this event possible.
Ms Parrothead and The cacher who say's Ni!
Sam from Cached for her help on the night.
Arron for his support.
Gareth and his staff at the Wakefield Hotel who must have put in amazing effort to get the area ready for us. (After only taking over the venue a few days earlier.)

Its been a great year and we wish everyone in the geocaching community a Merry Christmas and a happy new year.

I like to say you do this sport for the stories you can tell.
So finally thank you Prosspet boys for the story you gave us this year retrieving one of the traffic controllers.
We still laugh when we retell the tale.

08-Dec-05
Thank you for a great evening. We really enjoyed it, just to be able to put faces to names was great. We even picked up the Key to the City TB and found a cache on the way home.

Thanks SA Parrothead and all your helpers

08-Dec-05
Sounds like you all had a great time as we would have expected. Look forward to catching up with everyone next year. We are currently in Lithgow planning on how to attack all the Blue Mountain caches and have found out this morning that the caravan park we are at has a wireless network. What a bonus. Big Grin

Merry Christmas to everyone, hope you enjoy the festive season with family and friends and still find time to do a bit of caching.

07-Dec-05
Thanks Andrew and Co for organising this fun evening for the rest of us cachers. When you think that you could look for caches all the time without ever meeting another cacher, it makes events like this even more special.
The venue was good, food was great, gifts were appreciated and we enjoyed meeting some new teams and catching up with everyone.
Merry Christmas to all from Trev & Carolyn.

07-Dec-05

Hi All,
The preparations for the event are coming along nicely.
We have made a start on the banner and other items for the night.
I visited the venue and gave them an indication of our meal requirements.
I also paid the deposit for the booking so if you decide not to come could you please give me a few days notice.
Two weeks to go, we look forward to seeing you all soon.
Best wishes from the Parrots

24-Nov-05

23-Nov-05
Droppng off a Geocoin

19-Nov-05
Unfortunatly im going to have to be a late exlcusion from this one. The day of the event, unfortunatly is also the same day that the posspet boys and i are heading to the south east for a 4 day caching hunt.

By the time that the event starts, we are hoping to be in mt gambier. With uncle posspet only getting limited time off work, it was these dates, or nothing, so the event will have to miss out, and 50 or so finds/caches will take precedent.

Hope all have a good time though.

18-Nov-05
UNKA DAVE and Arnty B deeply regret their inability to accept your kind invitation. However they both extend their sincere best wishes to all participants at the festive gathering. Merry Xmas. Thanks Anyway, UNKA DAVE
