I was doing the nearby new multis when I saw this... and even better it fills in a gap in my third round of the Jasmer challenge.. let's be honest, I probably won't actually get it without some time overseas, but it could be a fun challenge to attempt in any case.. TFTC Trigger_Fish, the cache was found in good order . Signed, sealed and returned to GZ. Find #4979
I was working on a nearby multi and stumbled across this solid gold oldie. Quickly found the container right where it should be. This is a cool park. Never thought to explore this area before. The new logbook seems to have some coords written on the back. Held onto those in case Ive accidentally found a tricky puzzle final!
A nice quick find in a lovely spot. The bag and container are a bit worse for wear but the log was OK and able to be signed. TFTC
Quick find her once we worked out which side of the fence to be. Good picnic benches for lunch
Went for a stroll to find this after morning tea in the domain. A quick find - tftc
Been muggled. No log and left in open. Have replaced to where it should be TFTC
Found it I dont have to go off trail to find it and very easy thanks for cache!
Gates locked. I suspect because it's winter? Will come back in a few months.
Paths a bit overgrown now but still found easily, no pen to write in logbook unfortunately. TFTH
I stopped at this nice park after traveling the Summit Road from Christchurch. A very nice spot. TFTC!
#12,334. I was staying at my sisters place at Leeston and decided today I would head to Banks Peninsula to do the CANZ cache. Heading back to Lincoln to pick up some dinner. Noticed this older cache and saw that I could park close by. So stopped and had a wander around the track. Surprised by how easy it was to locate. Signed the logbook and tucked the container back with some extra cover on top Thanks Conton for hiding it here and Moneydork for adopting it.
At here on a work trip, and I look down next to a seat and go, those rocks look suss, so I check it out and it’s a geocache. I wasn’t even expecting to come and get one.
A nice little area. Cache was full of water but dried as much as possible and put log back in a new zip lock bag.
Found. Wet and soggy, couldn’t write on log. Also cut finger on the plants! Logged photo for evidence
First time staying at the adjacent reserve. Only one other vehicle here. Gorgeous spot! Most of the paths near cache are taped off but the cache still accessible. One catch on container broken. Very soggy inside. Emptied everything out and signed the waterproof paper.
Came out today to explore the area as such a lovely day. A very nice walk in here which we had never known about. Cache was very wet inside emptied the container and plastic bag with log, thankfully write in the rain paper so could wipe and sign. Thanks for bringing us here and the cache Conton, Moneydork and Trigger_fish.
Stopped for picnic lunch on our way to the bays and got the added bonus of a cache. Thanks. As previously said, cache waterlogged.
Really enjoyed walking around the gardens. Thanks so much for hiding a cache here .
Yay no muggles about today other times there have been thousands of muggles here
Beautiful sunny day for biking the rail trail to Little River. And of course collecting a few smileys as we go.. We found this park by accident as we thought the trail started from here, but when we realised it didn't we determined to come back for a good look once we had finished the trail. So well done - very pleased we came back. Cache is all good. TFTC
Popped into this park on drive ftom Akaroa. Lovely spot among native trees for a hide.
With ABCDF4, eyespyben, and Gap (of Fap and Gap). Logging all finds as Team HRP (Huntly, Rotorua, Papamoa - Our hometowns)... During Covid-19 lockdown, we solved a truck load of puzzles around Christchurch - Canterbury region. No use thrashing the old grey matter for no cause - We decided we should make good on this handiwork...
There are lots of interesting trails and geoart surrounding Christchurch. What you aren’t told is how far flung some of these caches actually are. Some beforehand advice would have been great, so here are some of my notes... You’re welcome!
1. Mobile coverage is patchy, especially in those quiet, rural areas where it was most needed. Saving caches to offline might show that you are prepared and organised...
2. There are many dusty metal roads on the trails. The car will get messy, and your hair will feel like cardboard at the end of the day...
3. Suitable clothing and footwear are essential. You will climb in and out of hedges, gorse, and other rough stuff. You might get scratched, cut to shreds, and bleed a lot. It’s not advised to wear your brand new jacket on the day...
4. Take lots of food and drink. You’ll probably be head down, tail up and not realise you haven’t eaten until late afternoon. There are very few shops or gas stations out there...
5. Make sure that you secure keys and wallet and know where these are placed for easy retrieval. A full box of pens might be useful too, especially if you’re inclined to free some into the wild...
6. Know the difference between left and right, and north, south, east, and west. Turning right and heading north will not get you to South Christchurch quickly.
7. Look with girl’s eyes rather than boys eyes... Some caches haven’t been found in a while and you might have to get down on your knees to pray.
8. Always be prepared for misleading hints. This is what turns simple caches into D5/T5 hides... “Head height” could mean the cache is positioned at your toes.
9. Have a sense of humour and like the people you go caching with. It’s going to be a very long day, and you might want to hurt someone during the journey...
10. Make sure you can operate your phone/device and it doesn’t crash when you most need it...
11. Learn to cut and paste logs because you’re going to repeat this function so often when logging all of your finds.
12. Above all else, have fun and be kind...
After the police moved us on from McLeans Island, we decided to head south-east. There are lots of interesting caches to visit in the area, including a puzzle trail, Canterbury CANZ and the Little River Ad Lab... We stopped for this hide along the way. A great spot and straightforward find - Thanks Conton and Moneydork. TFTC.

After puzzle solving in the Canterbury region along with ABCDF4 we were invited to join Fap (from Fap & Gap) and Squirrel Nutcase to a week long caching adventure in the Canterbury area. With flights and accommodation booked were off, all met up in ChCh. and many hard dusty Kms travelled and many caches found, I think the Squirrel has said it all in his brief. Many thanks for the placements and Cos for bringin us to the very pleasant areas we travelled in to your region
Down in Christchurch with the Squirrel, ABCDF4 and eyespyben. During Covid lockdown, we solved a load of puzzles and decided that this would be a good time to visit. We've enjoyed a few days of good weather and seeing the Canterbury countryside. The caches have been in varying states - some good, some not so much. Our time here has been a blast, and we'd like to thank all COs who have made this adventure possible. Thank you and TFTC.

I stopped here as i HAD to locate the hide and seek cache being the 'same name ' as my geo name! and so i was close by and located this cache at the same time I took a photo of a nearby monument which i will post when i locate it .
We decided on an over night visit to Akaroa as it is nearly 40 years since we visited the little town ship of Akaroa . we had a lovely time over in the town ship and i managed to visit a few Caches which were a bonus, although this weekend was a very busy weekend due to a relay race being held this weekend

Thanks for bringing us to this glade of native trees! It was a quick find. The replacement log is still all fine, even if the original is sopping wet. TFTC!
Container , logbook ... Going next...

We did some geocaching during our stay at the campsite. Nice to find three caches that close .
Just a quick park and grab on our way to akaroa. It was too windy for a comfortable picnic.
Greets from Germany.
Tftc. Danke fürs Dösle

Found cache. Contents are a bit wet. We tried to dry it out as much as we could.
It always feels fantatsic to find an old cache. Nice spot for it too. The log was soaking wet so I replaced it to keep it ticking along for a bit longer. TFTC 3 14,492
Today was a good day for a walk and caching. We didn't knew about this park before, really nice place. TFTC.
Als wir hier ankamen, erkundete ich die Gegend und fand diesen Cache auch ohne cgeo öffnen zu können.
Danke sagt der Snejg

Nice quick find, log book is soaked though and didn’t have any paper on me to replace, thanks!
Eigentlich wollten wir auf der Banks Halbinsel übernachten. Da es dort aber den ganzen Tag neblig und regnerisch war, sind wir an diesen schönen Ort geflüchtet. Tftc
Found while exploring the gardens having camped here while on the rail trail with my GirlGuide group!
Always enjoy finding a new place that we'd never have known about without geocaching. A lovely, quiet place with plenty of birdsong. Container is wet inside, tipped out the water and dried as best we could but needs some TLC.
What a great wee park. This is one of the things I enjoy about geocaching - coming to places I might not otherwise have known existed. Thanks for the hide. The cache is a bit grungy inside but another cacher has left a fresh log. Lovely bird song today.
Out on a Sunday drive to put me into space
Nice quick find once In the right place. Tftc

Very straightforward - many thanks, most enjoyable. Added a dry log and a new ziplock thing left old one there too.
Quick find while camping here. Log absolutely sodden. Would be a great place to come to when the nursery is open. Tftc.
See previous log for TheBuddyolpals. We just realised we have 2similar accounts so are merging them.
JSando and I were lucky enough to find super cheap tickets to Christchurch in the boxing day sale, so here we are for a long weekend of sightseeing, eating, drinking and or course caching. We stayed at Governors Bay, and did most of our caching between there Banks Peninsula. We spent way more time driving than caching, but thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. Looking forward to coming back.
