On our way home after a weekend in Nowra. Great waterfalls and wonderful hide, very clever. Thanks The Sundowners
Driving back from Jervis Bay to Canberra with Gilly. We allowed plenty of time so that we could pick up some geocaches along the way. This was our first trad for the day. We've both driven past dozens of times, and commented that we'd never have turned off the road to see this view if not for the geocaches. So, thanks for the cache, The Sundowners!
I was setting off from Berry to Canberra and I had a quick look for any caches I wanted to stop for along the way. If there is one thing I cannot pass up, it’s old and remote caches.
Due to the time, it meant I was also doing this one in the black of night. So I pulled up at the carpark and armed with my phone torch ventured into the bush. After reading the few logs that would load I noted that the size and hint were potentially inaccurate. After only a few moment shining my torch into possible hiding spot I spotted the cache.
Such a great hiding spot, camouflaged beautifully. Dropping a favourite point for how enjoyable this was to find after dark.
Happy to report that the cache is in fantastic condition (especially for its age) and the log nice and dry.

Heading to Culburra from Canberra. No dog today so can stop in the national park. After admiring the view I ducked off to get the cache - was quiet wet as storms are passing through. Given the size and hint aren’t correct took a lot longer than it should have to find. Log signed and down to the coast.

Quick and easy find, took a photo of the logbook (if required) because we didn’t have a pen.
We love coming here to admire the falls and for a cheeky climb.

Tftc!!!middle child found straight away after looking at the falls. Signed and replaced.
Raining non stop last 2 days, wanted to get out of the caravan to explore, waterfall was superb, but rain and fog ruined the view. Left a NSW rock at lookout too. Log book was swollen and we couldn't get it out to scribble on though

An excellent reason for the stop.. cache found after a short search , I was expecting a larger cache , so fair to call this a SMALL cache.
Enjoyed the lookout after the find.
back home from a weekend down to the south coast to Jervis bay area and picking up some caches on the way back
thanks The Sundowners

At first pass, no cell phone reception and the size and hint misled me. Found a patch of reception, read logs and returned for a find. TftC.
Quick find while stretching our legs. Cache is a small though. It's also sad to see how much toilet paper is spread around. People are worse than animals.

Stopped for my usual waterfall viewing as I drove up the mountain. How awesome are waterfalls and the way they've carved the rock and the rock guided the waters over time.
Thanks.
Btw, definitely not a regular sized cache.

When Tankengine asked me did I want to find a FTF, I didn't expect it to be a couple of hours drive away. But hey, I love a good drive in the country and with new caches to find that aren't close to home is also a bonus. Plus what else was I going to do today - Housework? NOT!
It was a great day out, with a great friend, some great caches found and lovely scenery as well. The day was cool at first, but heated up pretty quickly. But that didn't hinder our fun.
This Cache: It was getting pretty hot now, but thankfully the walk was short to GZ. Between the march flies and the heat, it was good that this was a quick find and sign and back to the car. Tftc The Sundowners!!!

**This Cache:**
This cache is in fairly bad shape, it looks like it is a throwdown as it is certainly no longer a regular, and the "log" is an annoying wad of sticky notes....
It was also just lying on the ground with a bit of stick lying on top, not very safe! So I put it in a small hollow 1m off the ground - still at coordinates just a safer spot. Will be good if CO could move the cache and update to a regular size again, as this old cache deserves better!
Thanks for bringing me here

**Today:**
Went for a drive along country roads grabbing a few caches along the way, managed to pick up 18 finds for the day
Started in Canberra and headed through Bungendore - Tarago - Oallen - Nerriga - Tianjara and finished up with lunch in Nowra. Didn't have time for much more though, so only a single find in Nowra before heading a different way home via Kangaroo Valley and the Southern Highlands! About 8.5 hours all up, most of which was driving so only time for the caches I did along the way!
Thanks to all the CO's

We found the cache on the ground out in the open. There was a pile of rubbish nearby, Maccas wrappers and empty alcohol bottles. We covered the cache with suitable camo as per the hint. TFTC
Found ahead of a simply brilliant walk down into the gorge, up to the bottom of the falls and up the other side with the help of a rope, what a great day️
Hmmm, sure Ive found this in the past. Must have just forgotten to log!?!
A great view from nearby to here. All a bit burnt ATM but after a good wet autumn its greening up again.
A great old cache. Thanks for the find.

Collected a handful of caches between Nowra and Goulburn. It was nice to spend time outdoors despite the light showers throughout the day. Thanks to all Cache Owners for the contributions to this recreational activity.
Bit of rubbish around and it was uncovered so we covered it back up. TFTC beautiful location. Some nice fungi around.
Found with Alias11 while visiting the falls. Took a bit of searching, good hide! TFTC

On the 1st Aquilus1 and I were supposed to be first day of a three day adventure going deep into the Heart Of Darkness.... all the way through NSW to Bogan Shire to claim a multitude of counties... but (and there is usually a but) unfortunately I no longer had three days available, just two. So, last minute change of plans was for us go to the coast and go north, and see how we went. I even solved the only puzzle on the road before leaving.
So.... it ended up being a great loop, clearing out the road from Bungendore to Nerriga and going on to claim about a dozen shires. Clearing out an area is always slow going, but we were methodical... No Cache Left Behind as dubya would have said, despite the constant rain.... at least after Nerriga it was more a trip to claim counties than to clean out the map.
Late on the 1st we remembered that we should eat, probably before everything closes... luckily we found a Thai place in Berry that grumpily let us in while staring at the clock.... no mind! The food was great. Frantic internet searching looking for a motel then ensued while waiting for our dinner... all was well, we had fine lodgings awaiting us in Kiama.
On the 2nd the rain was looking like it was going to set in for the day as well, but we soon realised it was the fog that was going to be our nemesis.... it was unbelievable and downright scary... glad I wasn't driving! But, in the pea-souper, we somehow missed our turn to The Shire and ended up near Appin, no mind, we can continue in this direction.
Not sure I can even remember all the councils we passed through and grabbed a cache or two in, but here goes:
Queanbeyan-Palerang,
Goulburn-Mulwaree
Shoalhaven
Jervis Bay
Kiama
Shellharbour
Wollongong
Wollondilly
Campbelltown
Camden
Liverpool
Fairfield
Canterbury-Bankstown
Cumberland
Strathfield
Canada Bay
Burwood
Inner West
Sydney
Woollahra
Waverley
Randwick
Bayside
Georges River
Sutherland Shire
Wingecarribee
Wow, this took some finding as it was well buried. The camo looked a little obvious after a few loops.... but it wasnt until I came back and dug a little that I found it..... Not a regular.....

With GreyHams we had planned to head out for a three day trip into NSW for some counties, all the way to Bogan Shire! We had 14 counties on the route but a change of plans meant only the two days were available so plan B had us heading towards the coast and up towards Sydney.
All a bit of a last minute change but all good, GreyHams had a plan! Off we set, we had 5 counties on the list and would see how many more we had the time for. The new route had us driving up towards Bungendore to Tarago and then across towards Nerriga to Jervis Bay. A good trail of caches and we searched for them all, a few DNF's but mostly a successful trip through with a variety of caches found and some really great locations visited.
The rain set in about Nerriga, light and steady, and we both ended up more than a little damp at times, super fun when looking for a cache in the wet bushes! Mostly we cleared a nice path along the way with a few caches down some side tracks, a few puddles to play with along them and the only Mystery along the way... Well thanks to GreyHams for knitting that one out!
Stopped in Berry for a nice Thai dinner and then on to Kiama where we stopped for the night.
Woke to more rain but continued on North stopping at each county along the way for a cache and anything else interesting. Thankfully the rain did end up clearing... in its place there was the thickest of fog to navigate through, no worries about that on the Motorway with the traffic and almost no visibility!
Slightly turned about in the fog we did end up off track but worked out well in the end with a new course set and off to conquer the counties along the way into and around Sydney. A surprising 25 counties visited in the end, much more than expected but happy with the result and a good couple of days away to do it in. Thanks to all the CO's for your caches, apologies for the generic log, any additional cache information has been added to the end of this log.
After walking down to the lookout and admiring the view and the waterfall we made our way here. Can't pretend that in the rain and walking through the wet bushes was so much fun! Still, we wandered about chasing out moving unsettled gps's, an area narrowed down we both gave the spot a look but missed it in it's location. Luckily GreyHams was prepared to go deeper in his search and soon mentioned the magic words that took us way longer than it should have!

#4648 5th for today
A last minute trip out to coast with CBRChic. I was sitting at home after breakfast thinking: where would I like to go caching today: answer: the coast. So I called CC to see if she was keen and she was so off we went. Time was very limited so we restricted our searches to just a couple of spots: Nerriga, Tianjara and Calalla Beach area. We aimed to be back in CBR by 7pm, but that was a forlorn hope and it was more like 8pm. Anyway, it was a fine day for caching and we almost completed the "Power to Calalla" trail, which was just lovely. All in all a great day.
Another former DNF now rectified. CC made the find here today.
Thanks to the COs: The Sundowners

Said no to a possible kayaking/geocaching with friends this weekend due to asthma and needing to see how it was affecting me. Steroids were kicking in and beginning to feel good again. At the garden centre with hubby when I get a call from StangeTrousers – “want a quick trip down the coast to get a few caches.? “ A little sea air would be good. “Yes Please.” Warned ST that we would need to take it easy and I would try not to become violent with roide rage on the trip (Joke). Got home in time to put the batteries into the Garmin and be ready for the ST to arrive in the geo mobile and the adventure to begin. We left close to lunch time and the day was sunny with not too much wind – perfect for caching especially after the cold days in the last week.
We picked up a few caches on the way down to the Calalla “Power to Calalla” power trail. Loved the earth cache Tianjara Falls. When we reached Calalla Beach close to 3:00 with a quick grab of a late lunch before hitting the trail. Nothing like hearing the waves at the beach.
Here we go again another discovery and place that caching has led me to. The wetlands and walk are worth a visit. Beautiful butterflies, flowers, a crab and no snake. Time was limited so we only managed mainly those on the trail before it was time to head home. The evening was finished with a meal cooked by my geo hubby for ST and I and the perfect way to finish of a great day.
It was nice to stop and find this one along the way. More time at a great spot.
Thanks The Sundowners for giving me a reason to visit this place.

Simple enough find! No thanks to all the toileting left behinds. Beautiful waterfall all the same!!
Wow this place has been turned into a toilet found the cache easy enough luckily it looked clean. TFTC
Having done a nearby puzzle and also the earth cache we saw this was close and headed over. A bit of circling and then the camo and the hide was spotted we completed the signing duties and re hid. TFTC
Found it today. Was out in the open so restored it to the location as per the hint
The hint doesn't work here, as there is a forest that matches it. However the coordinates were good. The cache is also now a micro. Unfortunately I wasn't willing to touch the cache, as I found it under it's cover with used toilet paper sitting on it, hidden with it [xx(]. I scrapped the paper away. This place is a toilet . I hope you will accept a photograph of the cache. TFTC The Sundowners.
Eventually. After going bushbashing unnecessarily we eventually found the cache & signed the log. Kutgw

Heading to the Mega at Alexandra GeoSon NationalSteel and I met up at Nowra and drove to Wodonga on the first leg of our journey.
Having tackled the earthcache nearby we walked along a path to this one. Given the name, the cache hide was obvious from quite a distance. The quickest find of the day.
Thanks The Sundowners for the cache.

The Tanjiara was very dry at this time with not a drop of water flowing at all. The view is still very good and at least there was still this cache to be found. It was found and brought to light where the log had our name added and was hidden again before we moved on to the next find. Thanks go to The Sundowners for placing a cache here. It would be interesting to come back when the waterfall is happening well.
Heading over to Sussex Inlet for a few days and decided to swing by this one on the way.
Parked the geounit up nearby and then went in to start the search. Looked at a few options before spotting the suspiciously placed natural camo. Chache is no longer a regular but found none the less
Thanks for the hide, The Sundowners

Great spot! Very little water, dribble, spittle flowing over the waterfall, as compared to the last we were here on Anzac Day. But still fab, fab views! There are a few little trails out and about, as obviously a climbing area, so you can, if you want get up close and personal to the sheer drop below. It was very windy, so I kept my distance. TFTC.
Ticking off some caches along Braidwood Road, made the quick turn off for two smilies near the falls. Container quickly located, managing to avoid too much soot. Container (replaced over time) no longer matches description size (more a micro/small). Also note name is spelt wrong compared to signage and earthcache nearby.
Thank you for the cache. Log signed and cache replaced. *OCW Throsbyonchurch*.
Found it as team *Throsbyonchurch*. A quick find with mummy but didn't sign the log book as only got this account tonight. Mummy thought I should have my own account now I am getting bigger and helping with the finds, so I will have a nice record of the caches I have helped find and the places I have been as I grow up.
Thank you for a wonderful cache I thoroughly enjoyed your cache. Log signed and replaced cache.

**The Cache**
Not too hard to locate. Cache in good condition and dry. However, someone put the flaired end of the logbook in the cache facing toward the opening and it was *extremely challenging* to get out. I ended up giving it a good hard flick as hard as I could and somehow the logbook came flying out .... yippee, it's signable now. Replaced the log with the flaired end in first to make it a simple extraction for the next cacher.
**The Location**
A very nice location. Not good seeing something white of which I cannot really describe strewn in this location, National Park of all places. I was not keen on walking past it, not knowing what it was let alone what it could have contained. Still and all, nice little walk in a nice little area to find a nice little cache.
**The Day**
With school holidays concluding its time to release baby to mummy. I was considering heading down Albatross Rd and then onto Braidwood Rd and turn off at Turpentine Rd but then realised I've wanted to do the Braidwood Rd/Neriga series for the past two school holidays. No time like the present!! Didn't leave as early as I wanted but it all turned out well in the end. The day was absolutely amazing, bright blue sky, nice warm sun beaming down. The road trip was enjoyed immensely and the cache hunting fun. It was fantastic to go to the lookouts and see amazing views. The last time we came through here was some 10 years ago when the road was dirt and they were putting the new tarred road in - wow it sure is nice and cruisy now.

The falls are beautiful, a quick find after admiring the view. The area around GZ is getting very grotty. Thanks nonetheless.
Found it with The Hancock Clan, Wazza9, Nana Nel & Tronador while camping at Stewart's Crossing and grabbing some caches with interesting views in the area.
After getting the info for the earth cache we quickly found this in the bush. Lovely views over the falls there! Time to go have some lunch.
I was hoping to hand over the Bandaged Bear to one of our crew, but no one managed anything silly, like falling off the cliff face. TFTC.

TFTC,
In the area caching with The Hancock Clan (who were seeking to increase the number of Scenic caches they have found), Brewmaker, Tronador and Nana nel for the weekend. We made our base at Stewarts Crossing and enjoyed getting around from there.
Visited a group of trackables.
We spent some time at the viewing platform, what a great location to view when the water is flowing. Then it was time to find the cache. I walked about 4M past and had to go to the hint to find it.

After spending a great weekend at Stewarts Crossing with The Hancock Clan, Tronador, Brewmaker & Wazza9, doing some local geocachers, on way home still picking up a few more. A quick find before checking out the view. Disappointing that lots of people use the area for a toilet. Thanks to The Sundowners.
A quick find by Mrs H and a nice stretch of the legs whilst on the way to the Braidwood area for a long weekend of camping & caching with friends. TFTC!

ACTchil and I took the day off on Friday to have a long weekend at Currarong and grab some caches here before it got too cold. We got up and packed up the camper trailer and headed off back to Canberra and pick up some more on the way including the Tianjara earthcache which we just did. We looked at all the possible spots and then there it was, I took out the log book, signed, put back and off to the next one. tftc The Sundowners
went for a long weekend at Currarong near Jervis Bay with Darzee Di and we got some caches including this one on the way home . beautiful sunny day tftc The Sundowners
It had just started to rain as we arrived here, but from what I read the falls were spectacular - wasn't disappointed. A quick walk to GZ but had to walk around a little to track it down.

Had a lovely day picking chestnuts at Sassafras and stopped here on the way home. Had to hide from a drone overhead - muggles will try anything!
