Today we drove home after spending a week in South East Queensland. We thoroughly enjoyed our time in the Sunshine State, with near perfect and warm weather for the whole week, and a very high cache finding success rate. A nice quick one after a short walk. After spending the previous couple days in the north side of Brisbane, we felt that the drivers on the south side were notably more reckless Thanks for the cache

After dropping off my husband at the airport early this morning, I drove over the Gateway to do some geocaching in the Wynnum/Manly area. A then drove home, targeting a few other caches including this oldie.I parked in the little western side street of Old Cleveland Road and walked through the very new pedestrian gate (unlocked) and straight up the hill. At the top, I headed towards GZ. I stopped before the chair and surveyed the area then quickly spied a spos in a likely location. There was the cache in perfect condition. It doesn't look like there is anyone camping here now. I think the new gate has dissuaded people. Tftc

Its nowhere to be found, i think somebody took it or it was removed

Slipped across to the dark side and found this bad boy. We have been near this location prior on a couple of occasions finding another cache. Today Im here for an oldie & like the other, GZ is in proximity of a campsite.Cache in good condition.

28/6/2023 Find #6202
A bit of a random middle of the day out and about for me today. I had grabbed a cache or two closer to the city, and then checked my map for what else I could target. The older caches particularly grab my interest.
I parked the car near where some construction was occurring, opened the gate and wandered on up.
Looks like someone has been sleeping rough up here rather close to GZ.
I removed a couple of ciggies from the cache, signed the log and left, in case my friend returned any time soon.
Thanks for the cache Meeka.

Another pretty little piece of urban bush with a nice cardio approach. Great for us on a cloudy Mother’s Day. Tftc

10-Apr-23
Found it! The scrabble up the roadside hill was too steep for the less adventurous of the party. Once up we found a much more sensible route down. Someone had cut a hole in the fence at the top. Hopefully not a geocacher. Tftc!

Slow slow up the hill, but an email find oncecup here & thanks for such a big cache:-)

16-Feb-23
It was a tad warm for an uphill hike today but this oldie was calling us so we made our way up. There was a path to the right, which was shadier and less steep which beckoned us so we took it and had a lovely walk all the way around the summit until our arrow pointed us straight in. A short bush bash and search later and we had uncovered the cache. Clearly, others have the same thoughts of traffic watching from here as there were seats set up not too far from GZ. The trees make the traffic a little less easy to see, but we could certainly hear it and see plenty on our decent back to the car. All is good here. Thanks Meeka

05-Nov-22
Today, following a morning Kelvin Grove parkrun, [@jesswrigley](http://coord.info/PRNW59T) and I went out for shopping and errands, and then headed to Belmont Hills Reserve on the south side for a walk around the area. The Q100 oldie [Belmont Bushland](https://coord.info/GCGHDB) had brought us to the area, but a couple of hours spent walking around, spotting wallabies and kangaroos, made it an enjoyable afternoon wander.

Whilst baby Warren grabbed a quick nap whilst on our way to our destination, we had an opportunity to go for a short walk/jog around this area. We ascended up the hill and had a look around, before catching sight of the nicely placed cache. The cache container and logbook were in good shape. Thanks Meeka for the cache placement and ongoing maintenance. It was nice to have found this oldie 10/2005 hidden cache, of which is one of Queensland's 500 oldest yet active geocaches.
Note that this geocache was logged with the *Team Warren* Davidwazza/jesswrigley stamp.

Had a little bit of time whilst the eldest was at a play date so thought it would be a good opportunity to take the dog for a walk. Being Earth cache day, I decided to find one of those and completed the tasks just on the opposite side of the motorway. Headed over to find this cache whilst in the area.
Parked at the bottom of the rise and we headed up the pretty well defined track. When we reached the peak, we headed in from the trail a little bit and when we were about 10m away, I spotted the cache container.
The contents were all good and there were two pens included here, so the log book was signed with one of those. Not sure how many people get up here off the main track, but there was enough discarded furniture for me to want to hide the cache a little better.
So I have tucked it away in the same hiding spot, just a little out of sight, and the hint is still extremely relevant.
Thanks very much Meeka for the cache placement and the little bit of exercise. Cheers

On route to the nearby shopping centre for a new phone and decided to look for a cache in the area that interests me.. this one was placed way back in 2005! I like finding oldies so this one ticked a box for my pre-work mini adventuring.
Thanks for the cache.

Out on a short walk in this heat, we decided to not stick around here for too long today. We were also on a mission to find another geocache in this same area and then we will head back to the car and the air conditioning..
The geocache was found in a likely spot, and we have left a travel bug there to continue its journey around the world.

Out today to continue my challenges of a traditional a day and a cache a day, plus we needed to visit relatives on this side of town. With time limited we only had time for a few a caches and this was one of them.
A nice walk and a nice place to sit and watch the traffic though I think this area gets used a lot with the amount of rubbish and paraphernalia up here. An easy quick find and with the log signed we replaced the cache as found and were on our way to the next one in the area.
Thank you for maintaining this cache and placing it here.

Doing a loop of Brisbane, searching for particular caches, it was decided that wee couldn't miss this nearby oldie. Near GZ, it looks like someone was sleeping rough for a while, but they seem to gone now. The cache was quickly located and the log signed. TFTC

After we got of the river pack everything back on the Ute. The question was ask what caches are we going to do next. Get some caches local or travel and get some for our D/T grid. We were talking about Friday and Saturday night. I was two short on my second loop and Selva Girls was short by 1. Now of to do a loop of Brisbane thanks Selva Girls for the help with this puzzle.
After picking up the puzzle we then came and got this one.

Cache a day to keep the doctor away, or is it to keep me sane. No it’s to keep my streak alive. TFTC 452 streak. 2763 Finds

Cache 14 of 20 today! I was on the southside of town, generally hunting QLD's oldest 100 or oldest 500 caches (with a few slipping into the list because they were so close, or filled in a DT hole).

After a very stressful week of work, it was good to expend some energy, push my lungs a bit harder, and suck in some fresh air. GZ is beautiful, as to be expected, and I really enjoyed the walk and solitude. This one had better views than I anticipated! Beautiful to be up here, and watch the world go by Smile

Cache and log are in great condition.

TB visit x2.

As soon as i parked I had a plan, find a cache then back here for a coffee to go.
The walk up was longer and steeper than I had anticipated but the reward was worth it when I lay my hands on cache
Log was signed and cache returned to where found...now back for that coffee
TFTC Meeka. Great view of Brisbane from here.

16-Jun-19
On a sleepy Sunday morning I was awoken by my wife where the following conversation took place:

Mrs: Your daughter wants to go shopping at Carindale today. Do you want to come?
Me: Nope!

Mrs: If you come I'll buy you a coffee
Me: Tempting, but I have some socks to darn

Mrs: We won't be long, we just want to check out a couple of shops
Me: I've heard this stuck record before. It usually ends up with me sitting around and holding the bags

Mrs: I think it would be nice to spend some time with your daughter and me
Me: I think I'll follow the obdurate manifesto

Mrs: What does obdurate mean?
Me: I'll tell you after I spend the day arranging all my dictionaries in alphabetical order

Mrs: Maybe you can find a few caches while we shop
Me: You have my full attention

After dropping off the shoppers the first port of call was this cache across the road. It looks like a great party spot which I seemed to have missed but at least I wasn't shopping (yet). tftc

Pity I missed the party! Great find, little bit cobwebby but KylieW fished it out so I didn't have to touch it! TFTC

Have been down for the count all week with a yerky cold which has morphed into bronchitis. Had been to an appointment over this way and felt the need for some fresh air and sunshine so found this cache fitted the purpose. Parked at the end of the road by the gate and started a slow amble up the track. It was a slow plod in between bouts of coughing but I eventually got up to the top.

Did notice the setup close to GZ but no-one seemed to be there today. It looked more like a place used for smoking illicit greenery rather than a camp site, similar to the one that has co- existed with another veteran cache, Comet Spit, for quite a while now. Found this one but the log was satched. I did have another bagged log book with me so shook the container out as best I could and popped it in. There wasnt anything i could do about the soggy loggy, so I placed it under the container to stop it dampening the replacement log. Covered it over and slowly made my way back to the car.

I would say the "regulars" to this site are aware of the cache and probably check it out whenever they visit to see if there is any new treasure in it. A lot of the cachers visiting here have found it exposed so this suggests it is being regularly interfered with. It definately isn't a cache to be dropping travel bugs, pathtags or geocoins into as they would be stolen.

TFTC Meeka

Found at second spot looked at! TFTC

27-Apr-19
Appears I was a tad late for the camping trip. My acquaintances were in a hurry to get away from the camp site, leaving the tarp, bean bag and their medications behind. Shame I couldn't par-take in the festivities and watch the traffic from up 'high'.

Cache was found in the second spot checked and the log is in a very moist condition. Only equipped with a pen I couldn't put a new log down or dry out the log book. Thanks for placing this cache Meeka.

TFTC and the view. The cache was quite exposed, so I added a bit more leaf camouflage to keep it safe. The bush camp is a little odd, but it takes all kinds to make a world!!
