Have my eye on another spot over the other side of the "lake" but won't put it out until there is a bit more water around.
Many thanks to all that have found this cache.

We took a quick break by the lake. We normally stop here in the town while enroute to the Grampians however today decided to explore. Lots of water in the lake and some fishing(?) muggles at the waters edge. Took a Viking and left a ladybug. Thanks 2Dudez.
Had difficulty finding a spare page to enter a log. Hint - a new notebook is required. Would have left one however we were travelling light and did not have one with us.
Nice easy 2nd find of the day.
Rubbish starting to mount up here.. Beaufort council need to come out a bit more for a clean-up.
Thanks for the cache.

Thanks!! Only minor tramping around under trees required to find this one, my 3rd for the day. TNLN
Our 10th and final cache for today, heading back to Melbourne after a caching weekend up at the Grampians.
While caughtatwork played the "which way is it pointing now" GPS game, I pretty much walked straight up to it & said "here it is!" [^] Hmmm. Smug mode.
Thanks 2Dudez for the cache.

The last cache of the weekend before heading home and then off to the inlaws.
The GPS was not nice to me here and I was some 15m away when Mr Mini called me back to where he had already found the cache. Not bad for someone who didn't have a GPS with him.
Took nothing, left nothing.
Thanks 2Dudez for this cache experience today. The lake is very low on water and if it gets too much lower you would be able to walk across it.
PS. The weather was very cold today. I know how much you know that the weather is cold up your neck of the woods, so I thought I'd just drop this additional comment in to annoy you

We found our 16th 2Dudez cache at 5:30pm as the 19th of 22 on our South West / South East Tour - Day 8. It took three goes to find the right way in thanks to Samantha the TomTom. Thanks for the cache from D, H & A B-A.
A quick drive by find for us today to break our trip to Melbourne to put our friends the Dragonfreys on the plane for the first leg of their journey home to Canada, we are surely going to miss them all. A good hide in a place that in better times must be a great spot, at the moment it is little more than a mud flat, a sad picture of the struggle our fine land is having in the grip of drought. Some small swaps were made. TFTC. The log is full and unfortunately I didn't have a spare, I apologize.
hopped out grabed it and then proceeded to eat the bun from the bakery in town yum
The lake doesn't look far off completely drying up which is a shame. Found heading home from Begonia Festival.
Visiting Beaufort for a friends 50th Birthday bash.
First find for the day. Had a bit of a drive around to find it.
Signed log - took nothing. TFTC.

Final pickup of the day after grabbing a few caches around the area. Signal was a little wayward which was surprising, as there was no shortage of satellites on display. Eventually found it in the fairly logical spot. The logbook is pretty full and could probably use a replacement. This lake looks to be in a rather sad state at the moment with low water levels but there were still plenty of birds around who didn't seem to care. TNLN. Many thanks for the cache 2Dudez.
13th and final find while on the 2008 Great Victorian Bike Ride. This cache was adjacent to our final campsite. Strolling muggle cyclsits and a poor GPS signal made this a difficult find.
Lovely hide in a great area. Thanks for the perfect lunch stop. Caching at lunchtime, you gotta love it.
Found cache today with shane.thompson and steph (sister), nice lake. Thanks 2Dudez.
Found today with WB-Holden and -Steph- at 10:30 am. Very cold morning so walk was good. Bloke fishing a the side of lake so care was taken. Notebook is almost full. Thanks 2Dudez.
Found at 10:55am. One of my staff lives in the house opposite up the hill overlooking GZ. I was here this morning helping them set up their ADSL connection and thought it was good opportunity to find.

Found whilst on our way to the Mulled on the Mountain V2 Event. An interesting hide, last time we were here the lake was full - not so now. Our GPS'r had the GZ 7m to the north with today's satellites.

Had a bit of a drive around the lake trying to find the correct road- should hae taken the one we missed in the first place. Pretty good exercise track around here. Took shark and left dice. TFTC
Found at 1500 hrs. Tom Tom had us all over the place except on the right road so we ignored him and went with our instinct. As luck would have it, when we arrive the clouds parted and we were treated to 30 minutes of bright sunshine. Just what we needed to have some lunch and a cup of hot coffee, After that we logged your cache. TNLN, Thanks 2Dudez for the sightseeing tour.

I took the lazy approach and parked nice and close to this cache. The rain started up ever so slightly so I decided not to do the big walk today. The lake and surrounds are really quite nice and well worth a visit.
Thanks Deano,

Walked from the other side of the lake to score this find, the lake being quite a bit lower from my last visit 6 weeks ago.
Found some swaps outside the cache in plain sight, so took these for another cache as they wouldn't fit back in.
Apart from this TNLNSL.

Another timely spot to stretch the legs. Cramped up in the car for 4 hours was starting to take it's toll so we parked on the boat launch side of the lake and walked on over to the cache. We noted that big bug wouldn't fit and left a small bouncy ball instead. Thanks for another nice cache and an interesting spot.
Not the nicest day to enjoy the lake today, but looked a nice spot. Cheers Gav [1636]
Finally getting around to doing some seriously overdue logging Found with the rest of the kiwis on our way back home after breaking the 'most caches in a day' record. TNLN, Thanks.
12:00 The cache was located pretty quickly. Great spot for a cache, enjoyed the lake. TNLN. Thanks for the cache.
Number 2 of 8 this morning. It's good to see a lake with water in it. A nice little spot for a quick picnic. The cache was found quickly in the obvious place by Geoteen 1.

Mrs Parrot was out of the car and had nabbed this one before I had the ignition turned off.
Our first find on our trip to the grampians. Bit chilly here today and the water level is down. Couldn't really envisage people water skiing here but I suppose it will happen when the water rises and the weather warms. Nice walk to break the drive. Took Hi lighter and TB Lightning McQueen" Left Alien. SL TFTC.
A break by the lake with a hot pie from the bakery
Who could ask for more ?
Maybe the breeze could have been a bit lower on the Beaufort scale, but the find didn't take too long

When we arrived at the lake, there was a white ute parked at the edge of the wall, and a two fishermen halfway along the wall. Since we had pulled up next to their car, they were were keeping a sharp, if distant, eye on what we were up to. Happily the cache was actually hidden out of their view.
At first we weren't sure where the cache could be, but once we re-read the the description, one good look around had the hiding spot identified and the cache in hand.
From here we were off to lunch.
Thanks 2Dudez.

Quickly found and swaps made- a plaster carrot for some magnets and a spinny top.
Pointing device pointed to the most obvious place for a stash but nothing. I had the grandkids on their second 'Treasure Hunt' I said to look for someting out of place and they found it within a few seconds. Swapped a pencil for a fluro marker. TKS
Found on our way home from Halls Gap at 1210. Did as the name suggested and had some fish & chips before an easy find was made. TNLN TFTC
Cache took a lot longer than expected because we took lake road... which was completely rutted! But it was worth it, the lake was wonderful. Thanks for the cache!
Oenze and I took a while to find the best access to this cache. After that it was an easy find. TNLN thanks 2dudez.
16th find of the day at 4:10pm Accompanied by Feathertop on our Good Friday caching expedition. Easy drive by, like so many other lakes in victoria soon there wont be any water left as well. TNLN, Signed Log. Thanx 2Dudez....
At last! A lake with some water in it. Great to see, and there were even some people out in boats fishing. Amazing that there was waterskiing here when the lake was higher. We had no clue this was hidden a few blocks back from the highway. It is a good excuse to explore Beaufort a little more. Found with ease and replaced in its hidey hole. T: Crocodile; L: Carrot. Thanks 2Dudez.

Like others, we were put off by fallen logs. Sadly, time was limited, and our GPS unit gave us the tree shuffle. We had to get going, will go back to this beautiful lake to find it another day
Still on the way to AWG59 in the Grampians, I was able to talk the travellers into a stop for this one (well, I was driving after all ). After finally finding the way to GZ, the find was nice and easy at 15:20. A very pleasant spot.

A not so easy find. A recent tree branch had dropped on what I thought was GZ. A off/on of the gps still had the cache under the branch so I was preocupied in tryiung to find the cache under the branch. I was keen to recover the cache as it had one of my geocoins in it. Eventually I sat down to rest and the cache came to me. Phew I thought it might have been a lot bigger job to recover the coin. TFTC and taking me to a spot I never knew exisited.
Easy find in a geocaching hide on a cool morning beside a previously unknown but pretty lake. T Tape, L Basketball. Thanks 2Dudez for the cache in a nice spot.
We did "Take a Break" on the way to the Grampians, and took a stroll beside the lake. It was a muggle free zone on a friday morning. Didn't quite get around to a swim, did have a look at the water. It must be a buzy place in the heat of summer.
TNLNSL. Thanks, Robmc.
TNLNSL. Thanks, Robmc.
As Robmc said. Did take a break but not a coffee break though, Rob doesn't drink the stuff. I do but I wasn't driving so it's make it on the run or not at all. The water was incredibly clean though.
Anyway left a geocoin and took nothing and onwards.
Thanks.

Seventeenth of Twenty Two finds on the BBBBB (Bacchus Marsh, Ballan, Ballarat, Beaufort Bash) in company with Daks Emu Mob. We could have remained in the car for this cache if we had of tried hard enough. Picked up the TB Silvester. Thanks 2Dudez for the cache.
Twelfth of sixteen finds on the BBBBB (Bacchus Marsh, Ballan, Ballarat, Beaufort Bash) in company with acts2youthgroup. We forewent the opportunity of a walk around the lake, but approached by road. If we had parked carefully, we could have reached out the window and snaffled this one. We found it at 2005, and covered it properly before we left. I made no exchange. Thanks to 2Dudez for the cache.
Found at 3.45pm GAFF1. Took us a while to find the easy way in after relying on TomTom to tell us where to go. Surprising amount of water in the lake considering the lack of rain in the area. Thanks 2Dudez tn/ln dropped off Sylvester TB.
Enroute back to Melb after a lightening trip to Nhill, this cache was located after Mazz and I decided to stock up on tea, cappucino and warm orange butterfly muffins (mmmmm...) from a local tea room. I may come back and try for a few fish one day. Being a keen fly fisherman I took TB Tongariro to continue his travels before he is released unharmed. LNSL. Thanks 2 Dudez.

We binned some corroded batteries and some bubble mix that had leaked all over the cache container.
