Trying to get round before the rain comes Excellent canopy walk with the added bonus of the AL, then on (or should that be up) to the first falls. The setting was impressive with the amount and variety of vegetation; like all waterfalls, best viewed after some heavy rain, but still nice Easy find in this deserted spot.
Having parked up the campervan for the night, I headed out for a walk with matagouri, largely to do the lab cache series, the multi and this cache. We hadn't realized until finding the cache how old it was. I do like finding the older one's. Thanks for putting this here
Out with rattll in the evening, enjoying the kauri forest, the canopy bridge, and the walk to the falls. Initially put off a little by the idea of a flax hunt, but delighted to make a quick find at GZ. Thanks for keeping this older cache going, fills a gap in my jasmer grid. Tftc!
We enjoyed exploring the area, TFTC!!South Australia is the place be for GCA1DNA - MEGA - February 29th, 2024 in Adelaide! Hope to see you at The Great Leap Forward!
TFTC. This is the first cache we found in New Zealand. Yesterday we arrived form the Netherlands. And of course we are going to cache here too
Found while visiting the park. The nearby view of the waterfall is perfect.

Up from Hamilton for the weekend and I have an hour or so to myself for a bit of R&R.
The AH Reed reserve offers a nice walk I’m told, hence why I’m here.
Flax hides can be a little divisive but this was a straightforward one. Easy access and larger container.
A quick find.
Thanks Riser5

Quick find after a beautiful walk, cache still present despite gardening work nearby. Tftc!
Found after completing the adventure lab and the canopy walk. I enjoyed the waterfall view. TFTC!
Ruru_Nz and I on another road trip to complete this area of the Geotour before it finishes.

Up from Southland with Cantabrian Kiwicampnut to get the final piece of the PWGT puzzle.
Day 8 - Bay of Islands to Whangarei. A quiet driving day as we wind down near the end of our goal.
This was on my list to do as it is a missing month, looked at the DT, then at the map and decided to opt for the lower terrain approach.
Good to see spray station for Kauri Dieback.
Was quite obvious as I approach hint object, so replaced about 30cm away where it is tucked in a bit more.
Thanks for the cache Green Eagle and Riser5

What a beautiful walk in the forest !! Thank you for all of the caches !
First rule of caching, take a pen. Used a green stick and took a whole page to record my visit. Spotted by my muggle buddy who loves to hunt with me. Gorgeous day.
Our last day in Whangarei with Supernannny and we had time to collect a few caches along this walkway before heading home. There were a lot of fallen branches over the flax bushes, but this did not stop us making a quick find here of the well camouflaged cache. TFTC
Decided to knock off at lunch time and go for a walk. We have walked ah reid park before and it is a lovely walk.
Tried to find this one first but the track from the canopy walk to this entrance was closed. We ended up driving up to get this one.
Spied the cache thru the flax leaves and went around to grab it only to find another cache there as well. Have signed the driest logbook. (Had dates back to 2018) have placed them one on top of the other but may have to combine them.

Found it but there were two containers with logs!! Logged the dryest log as pen doesn't work well on wet paper. TFTC
Quick easy find on our walk with the Shackleton cubs tonight around AH reed, I did howevermanage to find 2 logs in the same place????. TFTC
Really enjoying exploring along these trails this afternoon, the nearby Paranui Falls are in full noise today with the recent rain, TFTC
First time I've found to cache containers at the same place. One with very wet log. Signed them both and took a photo.#900 or is it 901.
Nice find after the steep climb. Took a couple of minutes to locate thanks to a couple of muggles who were keeping an eye on me! All good at GZ and TFTC.
The is the reason I love Geocaching...Visiting places in my own backyard I haven’t explored for years. The find was super easy and in a great spot. Perfect cache to find then relax with a short stroll through the tracks. TFTC.
What great area this is and pleasing to see a good collection of caches..found and signed with no problems ..thanks to the COs
We were passing, as you do, and saw this cache. Move big parking space for us to have lunch. The terrain suggested one place, but the hint suggested my least favorite hiding spot. Thanks for maintaining this cache Riser5
Headed up to here from the lower car park and not really surprised to see an empty waterfall back the way. I was surprised to see some former Darwin aquaintances had been here yesterday and we were following them again tomorrow. All good here and replaced as found before heading down all those steps again. Was a 15km walking day today, nice.
We were going to meet up with Ed and the littlies today but maybe yesterdays big day at the beach was too much for them so we settled on an evening get together at their place instead. A quick trip up to A H Read park and along to the waterfall was the main effort of the caching day, along with a couple of Letterbox caches for the fun.
After a weekend in Wellington and catching up with my UK based mother and her cruise trip to NZ, we made the most of being up here on the North Island and added an extra 6 days in Northland to the trip itinerary. We flew up to Auckland on Sunday afternoon and after a faff around with a hire car we took the scenic/dark route up the Helennsville highway to the North. Arrived late on Sunday night and straight to sleep. We had a week with son Ed and his 4 under 3 years old children. Fun time was had and some nice experiences.

We walked up from the bottom to check out the cool waterfall. The lack of water flowing along the way should have been a big clue that this was s water FELL, not water falls

Staying in Whangarei for the week as one of the Jr. Cachers is playing in the U15 hockey tournament here and trying to fit in a few caches too. Exploring the kauri loop walk and decided to head off the side track to locate this cache. Didn't take too long to locate the two (?) containers and ended up signing both logs. Got a bit wet from a passing shower but a few minutes later it was sunny again. TFTC.
Found during our NZL Trip!
We thank all the Owners for hiding the Cache, showing the locations and make our trip wonderful!

Found this on our way back from our hike on the Bream Heads trail. Winter weather is a bit uncertain, but we persevered through high winds and torrential rains. We were very soaked but the clouds parted and the sun and wind helped dry our clothes (mostly). We visited this spot 5 years ago in the dark so it was nice to revisit in the daylight!
I decided to make a long weekend trip to Auckland region to see my favorite band Halestorm at the Power station Wednesday evening plus visit friends who are moving back to the UK in the next few months. Plus those who attended one of my three events had a bit of a fun surprise. I had tagged a few caches in Auckland and lower Northland which would help with my D/T grid and Jasmer challenge. Its very hard to pass so many good caches as I travelled around but I will do a proper trip before/during the 2020 Auckland Mega, although a week is unlikely to be enough time to make a dent.... oh well need some for training/work trips to the area too. Apologies for the generic log - that's the problem when lone caching - you don't always have time to write a good unique log at the time. Two containers same only one smiley
With Lemmer in New Zealand at amazing caches. Thank you for showing all that beautiful places. flatrate
#6439. I am staying in Auckland with the extended family. I need to find just two more caches to complete the NZ Jasmer challenge. Both of them are near Whangarei so a day trip was planned to drive north and pick up the target caches plus grab a few other old ones and any nearby caches while I still had enough time before driving back to Auckland in the evening. It was a stinking hot and fine summer's day in the north. With my two jasmer caches under the belt (Piroa Falls and Hugh Crawford) it was time to grab a few more local caches.
This cache: Back into the big smoke and off down this road to locate a few older caches. Parked in the carpark above the waterfall and checked out the waterfall. Then headed down the track only to see that the cache was placed closer to the road. Soon spied the container. Picked up a trackable and dropped off a trackable. Signed the logbook and returned the cache as found. Thanks Green Eagle for hiding the cache here and Riser5 for maintaining it.

Caching with an iPhone. Google. “What’s a ___x bush?” Got it. Left the TB. TFTC!
Today we had our second day in Whangarei, thereby visiting many locations in the town and near the road and looking for caches, too. On this trip we searched, found and logged a lot of caches. The weather was good all day long with only partly some dark clouds.
Almost no muggels observed us as they had other things to do than observing harmless geocachers.
Thanks to 'Green Eagle Maintained by Riser5' for showing us this location and for the fun we had at 'Whareora: Mark 2 (Northland)'. The search we had here today didn't take too much time.
Greetings from Germany and hope to see you soon in the forest.

Coord's a liitle bit off but thanks for the Hint, so we (JFgc+me) could found this Cache
Thank you for that.
Thank you for that.
Took a bit of circling round before we found this. The boardwalk around the kauri is lovely. Tftc. We found 2 caches here both in working order so probably a throw down?
Had a good look but fear this one my have been cleaned up, as flax bush is pretty thin.
Yes, first cache in NZ! Nice and quick find. The waterfalls and actually the whole area is beautifull! Tftc! Greetings from the Netherlands
We walked down from Whangarei falls to the swing bridge then back up to the falls. We then drove down to AH Reid park and walked along the Kauri board walk. We followed the new looking stairs up to this cache. I've walked this area many times and it's still one of my favourite places. It was a lovely waterfall and a great afternoon walk with the kids. The cache was nice and dry and an easy find. Thanks for bringing me back to this park again.
16/07/17 13:00 Strolled to the waterfall and enjoyed the sunny winter day. Shirt off weather! Better than the 6° & sleet I left in Rotorua a couple of days ago! Yay! Thanks for this, Cheers, GC.
Lovely walk through the forest to see the Kauri trees. Visiting Northland for a week from Palmerston North. Nice easy find. Picked up trackable thanks for hiding!
thought I'd go and get some caches around this area and so this was one of them. quick walk up (nicer after they have renovated it and put stairs in) i like the log book nice and dry! GPS got me there in the end after looking fro the flax left Geocoin. TFTC.
I am going to visit a lot of different countries on my travel tour around the world! At the moment I am staying in New Zealand. Of course I also try to find some geocaches on my tour. So I have visited this Cache as well. It was a beautiful place which I reached by a nice walk!
Thank you for hiding and best regards from somewhere in the world!!!

Out to pick up a few caches on New Year's day as a good way to start the year. Nice to find a proper sized cache that will fit a few trading items.
Happy to be second to sign the new log and left a little fish to swim with the stickers on the lid.
