So good wish we couldve entered the cave! Cach is out in the open, but found it like that & left it like that! Tftc
Cache found and in good condition, we added a couple of small trinkets for the next to find. Cache was out in the open but I am unsure if that is how it should be so returned as found. Thank you for showing me this location, I wish I could have entered the cave but the big locked gate said no!
Pretty easy find even with our gps taking us up on the cliff The cave was not accessible so Im not sure we were at the correct cave. A bit sad we didnt get to go in but a nice little adventure hike. TFTC
Found it! Actually this is Cauliflower Cave (YN-9) and used to be a tourist cave until it was deemed unsafe, some time ago. Thank you for the cache.
Visiting in Yanchep np and after that this geocache has been on my target list. Went to the cave from the highway following geocacher/kangaroo path. It took a while to find the cache because I first went about 10 metres from the opening, then about five after reading earlier comment. When I was heading off and giving up I made the find about 2 metres away from the cave under the biggest group of trees. It wasn't hidden at all and I left it as found. Then I entered the cave and it was pretty cool inside. Thanks for the cache and adventure!
We love a cave and we love a cache even if it not in the cave. Quick stop to target this old one. Then heading back on our way.
Thanks
Brad and Janet are on another epic journey. This time it involves many of Len Beadell’s 6500km of roads including the Anne Beadell, the Connie Sur, the Heather, the Neale, the Gun Barrel Highway, the Gary, the Talawana Track, the Gary Junction Rd and more.
And of course a 2 day visit to Maralinga which Len also located, surveyed and largely built as he had with Woomera and Emu. An amazing man.
If you don’t know of him he wrote some wonderful books. Laconic with a dry sense of wit, they are an excellent read. They are also available as audiobooks as is a recording of his brilliant after dinner talk one evening in Shepparton. Worth a listen.
And now the Moon Tours trip is over we are heading back to Adelaide via whichever way takes our fancy after a few days rest and repair in Karratha. Almost certainly down the WA Coast before heading to Hyden and the land of the Salmon Gums.
Thanks

Always nice to find an old cache, even if it has had quite a few changes along the years. It did take a bit of hunting. I should have read the description properly to save going up above the cave. I would not say that it was 10m from the entrance - more like 5 metres. It is also no longer a regular small end of small now.
Despite all that thanks for the find.

This cache took a while to find but got it eventually. The cave was a surprise after entering the narrow entrance. A favourite point given for this one. TFTC
Would recommend epic find cave is cool bring torch we used phone light was good but not ideal
Tftc. As a newbie who lacks confidence in my geo capabilities it gave me a massive boost to find this. Thank you
Like many others, I found it a struggle to locate the cave, a bouncy gps made me overshoot gz by some distance and I had to backtrack through the scrub to where I assumed the entrance would be. Pity the cave is locked up, we were hoping to do a little exploring. Tftc
This cache had been on out radar for a very long time. We had just completed a find at the bunkers so made this a quick find. Thanks for the nostalgia trip.
We have often wondered how to get to this one and IF indeed I could get to it. Answer: Yes I can, easy peasy. TFTC
Typically for us we took the wrong path in.
After much direction changing (jumpy GPS) the cave was spotted and we then found a much easier path back to the car.
TFTC Team Layabout this is find # 9892 for us.

Thanks to B12 for highlighting this one had probably gone. Checked on it today with a fairly thorough search of where I remember it to have been and put a replacement down to the right of the cave entrance. The co-ords have never been great here. You don’t have to climb on top of the cave.
Spent 40min here with three set of eyes and referencing old photos and logs but still not able to locate. Unfortunately we leave with a dnf. Loved the cave.
We spent ages here looking for this one. We thing we found the likely hidey hole, but couldn’t the locate the cache.
I hope this one stays active as we will be happy to comeback and receive a smiley... it’s great location!
Today our tour - which began in Perth, WA , and led us thru Western, Northern and Southern Australia back to Perth, was from Perth to Jurien Bay.
On the way we came to some interesting locations. Here we searched, found and logged this Tradi-Cache.
Weather was good in the morning and it should even get better during the day.
Thanks to 'Team Layabout' for showing us this location and for the fun we had with 'Dave's Cave'. The search here and today didn't take too much time, fortunately.
Greetings from Germany and we hope to see you soon in the forest.

I found it but it did take a bit of searching as my gps wanted me to go above the cave which isn't the right place. So after heading back to the mouth of cave I spotted the cache, preformed signing duties and returned it as I found it tftc
Out with Bindi01 to grab another cave cache after last weeks dismal fsilure on another cave cache. Found another two caves that I would have explored 35 years ago when I was fit and still had the use of all my limbs.
Gets a favourite from me just because I like mines and caves, TFTC

A nice find here very enjoyable and worth the effort thanks for placing it here teamlayabout a fav from me
Out ‘n about with m4yb getting a few caches.
The day has finally arrived to turn this green blob into a nice yellow smiley, and going off a recent finders log we went from the wrong spot! Doh! Anyways we needed the exercise and it wasn’t that taxing, certainly a lot better than I had envisaged.
We did stumble upon another small cave so one must always be cautious.
So glad to have been in and a much easier walk back via the road but so sad to see how much bloody rubbish the ugly Aussie just throws out the window. Worth a fav from me.
Thanks for the hide and Team Layaboutteam.

So today was the day to turn this green dot into a smiley. Megawat60 and I left the geoute at Old Yanchep Road and had an epic bushbash to the cave, then the cache was found . Very happy to see this spot at last, and the walk straight back to the road was a lot easier. Thanks for placing this cache and the opportunity for a discovery. A Favourite Point!
After nearly completing 20Km's of the Cockatoo walk trail, I decided to knock this one off on the way home. Dropping my pack (cause me feet were a bit sore by now), It was a nice quick find. Thanks to Dave, cause I love caves, and thanks to Team Layabout for bringing me here. I will have to come back to explore the interior. Note: the cache box was exposed and has a cracked lid. Even though the log book is in another container, it was pretty damp. I replaced the cache box further under the limestone to give it some protection from the elements. I don't think it will last a wet winter as it is.
hehe this one is not for the faint of heart. Slid over on the path down and almost fell down a rocky ditch so be careful travelling into this one! Made it to the cave and had an awesome time exploring inside - definitely bring some good torches if your keen to get right down into the cave, you can go inside a good 20 metres and it opens up to a large room. Very keen to go back and explore some more! Thanks for showing us these awesome hidden locations for us big kids
We headed out today in the weather to grab some caches, happy to say we came up trumps here today and claimed the smilie after slushing through the very wet bush to GZ. Unfortunately the cave is no longer accessible but we are appreaciative to be shown this, thank for bringing us here TFTC
I’ve been trying to get here for years and today was the day. Walked past the cache to see the cave. Left my pathtag. TFTC
What terrain is this? A 3? This was the hardest cache of the day with major bush bashing through thick bush and up and down rocky ledges.got there in the end. I wonder how many people know about this cave? Definitely no path.it must be one of the 599 caves in the area. Tftc. We did appreciate it.
Proper bush bash. Vandals have opened gate up so was able to squeeze in. Totally ruined my knee in process
Headed to Gingin with the caches being our guide, this was one we stopped for along the way…. Parked up at the closest possible point & made our way through the bush from there! There may have been an easier way, but surely that would not have been quite as much fun
Found Dave’s cave & shortly after found the cache… The kids couldn’t resist heading inside for a look & after they found the little stairs we were also intrigued & had to check it out too [^] Awesome spot… Loved the cave & the formations inside! It was incredibly quiet, even with two noisy kids!
TFTC Team Layabout This was our favourite cache for the day… It showed us something we would not have ever found, if not for geocaching & it was quite an adventure!

Didn't realise what a trek this one would be. Followed a bit of a path which took us in the wrong direction. Ended up bush bashing in the end! Cache found quite easily at GZ but had no energy left to explore the cave. TFTC
A split second decision to stop and find this during a drive up north... we had a grumpy 2 yr old and grumpy 5 yr old... thought a cave would be fun, so quickly pulled over. I should have checked the terrain rating!! In thongs (us adults) and crocs (2 kids) we went "exploring"... good grief!! Found it, but what an effort!! Then there were tears because I had mentioned a cave, but it was padlocked... Anyway, thanks for the little adventure, they fell asleep after that!!
Team Layabout, I found your cache Dave's Cave dry and healthy . SL Thank you for taking me here and TFTH. The cave develops in Middle Pleistocene (780,000 to 126,000 years ago) Tamala Limestone. Image shows: Cave entrance – locked!
On our trip around Australia we stoped here at this beautiful place to to grab this Cache

Greetings from Switzerland.
Found this one early this morning with Leega on our way to Geraldton. Being a Dave, we had to stop for this one. Took us a while to find a way in but we got there. We found the cave then soon after the cache. TFTC Team Layabout.
Found with axell33 on our way up to Geraldton. This was a great hide and I think we took the hard way in which is usual for us! Thanks for the hide.
Tftf spent a hour searching around the cave then decided to go find the cache awesome cave !!
Ohhhh find number 1998.... Creeping up to a milestone!! Thanks for leading us here it's awesome
Thank you! Thought I'd grab one more cache after doing the ghost walk trail, before heading home. There was a bit more bush bashing and spider web thrashing than I had expected, but cache found easily enough once at the cave.
After a nice treck through the Bush we managed to find this one...shame it's closed though!
Very along in car until perpendicular to the spot. Found an approximate path and cache. Cave locked up now.
We decided to take the 'as the crow flies' direct approach and headed straight on in following the gps arrow. A bit of scrambling followed but we found the (locked) cave and soon after had cache in hand. Kind of glad the gate was locked, looked a bit scary in there!

Just my sort of geocache! Some bush bashing, a cave and a big easy to find container! What a good excuse to break up my four hour drive. TFTC!
with a few minutes to spare before the cave tour started I made the short rune over to this cache.
Made a quick find and back to the cave for the tour.
Thanks for the cache Team Layabout

We failed here two years ago when the cache was empty. Thanks to Lyn Pat and Nathan adding a new container and log, we finally get our smiley. The family left me to the walk in as they still well remembered last time's scratches. It was a lot easier to get to the cave than I remembered and the cache was soon in hand due to the generous placement. I have covered it up a bit more as it was very exposed. TFTC!
TYFC! What a great adventure! No idea how we were going to get this one but when u stop and look we could see little geocache trails still a good little trek to a little magical place ^^ wish i knew about this one before they locked up the cave.
Found with chez and the J's interested to know if there is a different cache or if it has recently been locked up. I lead the way and took my caching buddies up and over rocks and trees haha. Found the cache and then chez and the J's lead us on the actual trail out lol. TFTC
Not much chance of Muggles hanging about here! We parked at Crystal Cave and walked from there, skipping across the busy road. Cache is now in great condition. Thanks Team Layabout.
I found it. I left my mark. I replaced it and I left. TFTC. . . I fell for it again. . I fought to get to GZ and when I arrived I can see a well worn path coming from a very similar angle. . . I must have been only 2 or 3 meters away fighting to get through. Thanks for bringing me here
We parked up the road in a safe place and followed the GPS to the cache.
To us it was about 7m from the indicated place but if you stay at the same level as the entrance you will find it.
We place a new container inside the old one so it should be good now.
Thanks for the interesting place.

Have been looking at this one for ages but never headed out to have a look
After reading recent logs took off armed with a new log to try my luck
Found the entrance of the cave and locked gate and commenced my search. After 10 mins made the find about 10 Myra off gz
Have left a new log booked freshly signed with the Stickyfeet name
But the container is starting to show its age, if any one is heading out this way could they bring something with them to keep this cache going
Tftc
Just remember anyone can perform maintenance

Found Cache, needs to be Maintained (understand its not the most easy location to duck in and get to
Disappointing about the cave being blocked off now, but understand conservation ideas, but it should be shared or at least ask the question if the local council is going to do something.

Found! No log. Empty. But still a cool walk and a cool cave. Pity cave is locked up. Left our log written on a leaf
Found cave, it's a shame it's closed up. Found the container with nothing inside
Container still there but nothing in it. Needs some TLC - great trek to find it though!
After doing a couple in the park we headed over here and found the trail in. Plenty of surface limestone and cracks and then we spotted the locked cave door. Followed the hint to be 10m away but on turning back it was a lot less and found the contain but no log but did not have a spare so took a photo. TFTC
on my way up to 2 rocks and decided to have a look and found it, but like most to find no log, great location, enjoyed the walk in the bush with my daughter, pity the cave is closed up though, mantanence required.
