found in the first place we looked, didn't realise it has been archived as it was on the gps. A great spot maybe someone will put another one here.
Found with NZDi. We had been intending to do a trip to the Coast after a workmate and fellow geocacher came back from a Christmas camping holiday and dropped a map of walks around Westport on my desk. On comparing the walk and geocaching maps, it was apparent to see there was plenty of scope for a geocaching holiday or three to the coast. The only thing we needed to ensure ws that the weather played the game, unlike when my workmate had her Christmas break there. Knowing that we had the weekend free this weekend I kept an eye on the forecast for the coast and it was looking pretty good, so a motel was booked and a rudimentary and flexible geocaching plan was hatched.
The idea was to head to the Coast early on Friday morning picking up no more than half a dozen caches along the way. We limited ourselves to this as we know from previous experience that it can take over six hours to do an hour and a quarter trip if you are geocaching as well.. Once we got to the coast, we were going to do the Cape Foulwind walk, then cache as much as we could from there back to town. We then intended to do as much of the K.R.T caches before retiring for the night and in the morning do the Charming Creek Walk before heading back home again picking up the odd cache along the way. In the end it was mission achieved with 74 finds over two days and only one DNF along the way.
After our trip from Blenheim, severely limiting the amount of caches we grabbed along the way, we arrived at the carpark around 10am. After getting changed into more appropriate caching attire we walked the track to Tauranga Bay picking up all the caches in order apart from the nearby multi.
This was a QEF thanks to a descriptive hint. We were wondering why weenz let you take this prime position on the track, but closer investigation shows you got here first.

Nice quick find with the hint. Kids enjoyed the seals. Thanks to all cache owners for taking the time to place and maintain your caches. BJ25.
On West Coast travels for a wee family holiday. Staying in Westport. Came out in the late afternoon to find a seal or two...and not disappointed. Quick find and sign between muggles....although; not many are walking further than the seals! Cheers.
Today we visited the local seal colony. There where manty mothers with their babies. We also visited this cache.
Thank you for the cache

Despite the heavy rain lots of tourists about. Staying at nearby Omau Lodge for the night but wish it was for longer. Dropping off one of our own TBs and hope it travels far. Tftc

We have driven down from Nelson today and decided that before we went to our motel we would take on this walk and the caches on it. As is our way we start at the furthest from where we park and then make our way back to the beginning. With the aid of the hint the find was a formality. TFTC
We stayed at the top 10 holiday park last night, and off to Greymouth now. We just walked to the lighthouse, then drove to the other end, and walked here. The sun is coming out, yay! TFTC.

Always wanted to know what was over here. We enjoyed the walk along the track, picking caches up along the way. The curse of wet weather meant brushing passed the long leaves/branches got me quiet damp, but found the cach okay. TFTC
Traveling together during our Sabbatical, I've found this one beside Dr. Dose and have shared the same nice experience as he did.
Thanks for it and all the best!

This cache was missing when I last walked through here two and a half years ago so it was a high priority to find it this time. Nice quick find then went out to the viewpoint with the tourists to spot the seals. Only 3 to be seen while we were there. TFTC #9644
During our New Zealand Round Trip I was looking for some Geochache. Today we took this walk track to the Seal Colony. A nice area. I could found this one also.

A perfect sunset, lots of neat seals and sea birds, plus some cool flora, plus a cache. Thanks heaps for placing a cache here, it really is a special place.
This was the twelfth find on our South Island trip of 2016 and last one in the immediate eare. We drove out to the lighthouse wanting to do the walk but the return time did not quite work with our schedule, so we did both ends. This cache was the second we grabbed on the walk from this side. We stopped to look at the seals for a good long while and then made it up to this cache. We spotted the probable location once we were at ground zero and with the hint, but had to be patient for a suitable break in the muggles to make the grab, which came before too long. We found the cache easily enough and soon had it logged and hidden again. The cache is in good condition. Thanks for the cache!
A long weekend proved to be just what it said on the tin; a weekend that was long. With mrs capperz trapped in work for 2 of the 3 days this weekend a plan was made to head over to the West Coast for some caching, with the added bonus of some fine weather too. Forecast was for clear skies and low 4, high of 15 degrees, which is some preferred caching weather. Also in possession of a geocaching map of Westport being virgin territory there was every chance of finding a 'few'.
A slight chance of one of 2 FTFs in Westport and the bait was dangled and too good to not take a swipe at. Headed off at 0830 on Sunday and got back around 1830 on Monday so a full on couple of days with park n grabs, beachside specials and a walk along the Cape Foulwind walkway (there wasn't any wind, and it wasn't foul so thinking of renaming it Cape Nicesun.
Day 2 of our trip and most caches were on the Western side of the Buller river. Nice and easy find here as we head towards (in a zig-zaggingly styled) the Foulwind walkway.
Onto the walkway and we sure picked a good day for the walk. Took 45 minutes lighthouse to carpark at other end, then just over 30 minutes back after a 15 minute picnic lunch. Passed a few different families and dog walkers but no one took any notice of us.
Thanks for all the caches here and COs who placed them, many great views to be seen

Today it is time for Ninalila and I to go back to Cap Foulwind and see the seals 'again' because it was too rainy the day before for geocaching. The weather is really good today !
The walk was nice and more ppl than yesterday of course
It wasn't a problem to find the boxes anyway.
We logged with our team name : Lekiprokos

fefe.adrien and I went to Cape Foulwind and Tauranga Bay yesterday to see the fur seals colony. But it was so rainy that we gave up to play at geocaching. Today the weather is better so we came back there to search the list of caches on the track along the coast. Most of caches were easy to find even with muggles around.

Spot well chosen, indeed, for a cache, because even without the GPS, we know where we are !!! Endroit bien choisi, en effet, pour une cache, parce que même sans le GPS, nous savons où nous sommes !!! Best regards from France ! and TFTC...
Found it during our road trip to New Zealand. Thank you for showing us this great place.
Geocaching was one of the minor parts in our wonderful and way too short trip to NZ.
We had a brilliant trip through this awesome contry. We were highly impressed by these quick changes in landscape. Thanks a lot to NZs openminded and lovely people, we always had the impression to be welcome.
We hope to be able to come back one day and visit some of the numerous things we couldn't take a look at.
Cheers from Germany guys and thank you soo much

From 19th February to 20th March Stadibast and I visited New Zealand. Half of the time we made a trip around the North-Island. After a short stay in Auckland we went to: Bay of Islands, Cape Reinga, Rotorua and the Wai-o-Tapu-Thermal Wonderland, the great Taupo-lake… We made a Rafting Tour in the Waitomo-Glowworm-caves or hiked the Tongariro–Alpine-Crossing and, and…
In the second part of our holidays we visited the south island, hiked in the Abel-Tasman-Reserve , went to the Marlborough-Sounds, the Golden Bay, the Oparara-Arch, the Franz-Josef- and Fox-Glaciers, had a great sight on Mt. Cook and Mt. Tasman, relaxed at the Wanaka- and Hawea-Lakes,….
New Zealand is a very amazing country and with exceptional natural sites. We are very impressed of these great nature monuments and sights and we are happy that we met so much friendly and helpful people.
Greetings from Germany.
