To be clear, like GeoIan I completely agree that the best way of maintaining and preserving this cache would be if the CO did it. Please inspect!

Well I don't normally debate logging a cache but I have thought about this one a lot. I had read all the previous logs before driving out here and knew it had been a replacement cache placed by another cacher and not the owner and I was going to claim that cache. I think it truly is a beautiful spot worthy of a cache . We definitely found swag from the cache as it was the same as what was in the picture and the last finder confirmed we were looking in the right spot. So thanks for bringing us out to such a great location

Found with Team737, the_garbageman, Mighty Minions, GeoIan and BillHill531. A camping event was organised and we all had a great weekend, driving, hiking and chatting. A fair bit of unloved was found. Unfortunately, my boys did not come camping, as they were a bit sick.
On our way heading home we all stopped here. It was a nice walk along the river and we were soon at the rock. We climbed all over and around, having a great time, but only found some random swaps in the dirt. Unfortunately it seems this had been muggled. Fortunately we had a container, so we signed and left that where a previous finder said the cache should have been. An email has also been sent to the cache owner, but if BEZRF Clan & Scrub Turkey disagrees with us placing a container, you are more then welcome to delete out logs. Great spot and rock either way.
Thanks for the drive, walk, climb, views and cache!

Found with Team737, Mighty Minions, TOMBI!, The_Garbageman and GeoIan. We came up here to attend the 'RiverFire Event' yesterday, and now on the way home detoured here, before heading of to Gloucester. I was a wonder that the cache was muggled as it was certainly not a T1.5 more like a T3.5, so a group decision was made to replace this one. TFTC BEZRF clan

I was with the group that found GZ, on our way home after the event Riverfire. But we didn't find anything. Throw downs are not my thing. No matter how much "effort" is involved. After today, I am not sure if I can trust any log that I read, as they all could be a throw down. Is any cache the cache that a CO has supplied, in the actual hide that was orignally intended? Now i am not real sure of this game. This is a wonderful spot, deserving of a cache, but it shall stay a blue face from me until a see a real log from the CO. In reality, no one has found this cache since 2010

Find #2432
This one was further out than I had thought.... I think the road out here is made of talc too?
GZ was scoured by an experienced team while others kept the kids from trying the climb too. In the end it was clear the cache was missing, and the group came to a consensus that a replacement was OK.
We hadn't had enough of the country yet, so drove on through to Gloucester to come home via the Bucketts Way.

Away in the mountains for the Riverfire event weekend with a great group of cachers.

We had a targeted list for the weekend and this one was on that list. It’s so remote and so unloved we felt it needed a group visit to help it rack up some extra finds - it averages only 1 a year and given how pretty the drive is, perhaps we can encourage a few more out here.

We parked at the reserve picnic tables and walked along to GZ. The listed ones seem to be a little out but there’s a very obvious structure which matches previous logs - we jumped on the back of this beast in numbers in the hopes of subduing it.

Sadly despite completely scalping the rock of three years of leaf litter and weeds, there was no cache to be found. With so many of us looking and such clear hints, we were very confident that if it was still here we would have found it. We found a smurf toy below the tree and some beer cans above so we wondered if the cache might have been muggled or even if it floated away in a flood. Who knows?

Then we had a debate - do we all DNF it and request maintenance and see the likely demise of the cache. The CO has not logged in to the website in 5 years, so maintenance seems unlikely! Or do we drop a container and keep this alive for others to enjoy a genuinely scenic drive and a fun climb (not T1.5, more like T3).

Given that a few years ago the cache was replaced in a similar manner, we decided to follow that example. Cache is now a sistema container under a few rocks under a tree root on top of the massive rock - photo shows said rock and tree. Not a spoiler though - I’m not that generous!

On the way home I regained some phone reception and called the last finder who identified we had placed it at GZ, and that even after 3 years without traffic he had found it in semi dark after only moments. We agreed that if it was there, 5 adults crawling all over GZ should have found it.

Now that I am able to access the photos in MV’s log, I’m even more sure it was muggled - we found the smurf and the little pink/grey clip. Cache contents aren’t usually scattered on the ground unless something went very wrong.

I’m not a fan of a throw down as a general rule but I think it’s justified here. Please people, come for a visit! TFTC

Reperio at 1800.

Being an avid chaser of unloved caches, this was one of the caches that I've had my eye on for a little while. A recent appearance on social media brought it back into the spotlight, so rather than wait any longer to pay it a visit, I decided to go for a drive this afternoon after work and see if it was still there. Given that this one has been replaced a couple of times, there was always a chance it had gone missing again sometime during past 4 years. As I made my way to GZ, day turned into night, and I arrived at the nearby reserve 200m away. I was somewhat expected to have to walk through some long grass or bushland, but instead I was greeted by a lovely strip of mowed grass leading straight to GZ.

With the dogs barking off in the distance, I wondered if the nearby residence would be curious about what someone would be doing out here after dark since camping was prohibited, so I made sure not to waste anytime in getting to GZ and start searching. With so many cool boulders in the area, I headed to the most likely one, and climbed up to the top. With about 4 years of leaves to have to shift through, I picked a spot to start...and as fortune would have it...I stumbled upon the cache and couldn't believe it. Opened up to find the single piece of paper that was used for the replacement log, and happily made my entry under the last finders. Interestingly, the last two finders never logged the their find online.

Not wanting to hang around too long, I snapped a couple of photos of the cache and GZ, and quickly made my way back to the car. Just as I arrived to the car, I was greeted by the owner of the nearby residence, and three of his dogs. In my head I was beginning to get ready for a lengthy explanation of what I was doing, but as I got back into the car, I said g'day and let him know that I noticed the sign regarding no camping and that I was moving on, and not only was he appreciative of that, he even offered a few suggestions of where free camping was allowed.

There's always a special buzz when you find a cache that hasn't been touched for a few years, and this one was another memorable cache adventure.

Looks like this cache has a habit of going missing. What's new? Nothing. So we had a new cache with us to replace the old one just in case and sure enough. We weren't driving all the way out here for nothing. We turned the rock upside down with no luck. Try pprass' coordinates but it is up on top of the huge boulder that is half as big as a house, under some rocks to try and stop it from flood water. Geomissy finally got her swim too, after driving to months of summer caches without luck. Great spot! Found on a tour to grab some of these caches that are some of the closest left to find from home at Bonny Hills. Cheers from Browngang*2
p.s. the terrain is more like 3

Found at 11.45am GAFF2. A glorious day after practically a whole week of rain. As we approached this idealistic setting there was a farmer slashing the grass. Turned out to be the guy who recently replaced the cache and he told us that it wasn't in the middle of the river as we originally thought when we looked at our maps! He slashed a lovely path right to the cache allowing us to walk on an even lush green carpet while we were observing the very fast flowing river - glad the cache wasn't in the middle of it!
We had lunch at the picnic shelter over looking the river and the lovely private camp ground - again very lush green grass all around.
Thanks BEZRF Clan & Scrub Turkey and also thanks to crimson8 for replacing the cache, otherwise the trip wouldn't have been as enticing.
Have taken some better co-ords, but it was tough getting a good reading, however they should be nearer to the cache.

First find of the day and a long drive to get it Smile

GZ was off by a bit so I used my GPS to average here and got these co-ords if anyone wants to try them: S31 48.514 E151 58.935

In any case, the clues were enough to find it. Cache contents have been damaged by water. Signed new log book. TNLN. Be careful if it's wet out, the rocks are very slippery.

Beautiful spot, thanks for bringing me out here for some muggle-free 'caching!

When grahame cookie and dukes of hazard was walking through the manning river trying to find it I read the clue and worked out that it was near the camp site. But when we found where to go it was quite easy.

Left mighty bean and took nothing. Left a log book their because the old log book didn't look to good. And also got rid of or the rusted items.

1045 - Didn't want to camp this weekend at the beautiful campsite, just drop into the cache; but drove past, and tried to find it from the road. (Looked a lot worse than 'Lantana Limbo', so looked for a better entry point.) Did two river crossings with Duke and directed families to the correct area. Disappointed with wet contents, and added a new log book. Must come back. Had thought of going to place PGRLK8, but another day for those eccentricities.

The cache had lost its lid and everything was wet. We disposed of the batteries and log book. Restocked the cache and placed a new log book.

It looks as though an animal has bitten off the lid.

It was a good location after 2 river crossings to find it.

Beautiful drive out to this one. The Manning River was looking its best on this clear cool day. We stopped at one of the bridges on the way through and we saw what we thought were trout and also a eel. Cache well hidden and we found after a short search - the gps had put us on the other side of the rock initially but we worked our way around looking at possible hiding spots. Very enjoyable. Thanks guys. Took keyring and left creative cd.
