29-Feb-16
Out caching with OrionJ. Parked and wandered around to WP1. What a nice area. Could not get a clear reading of next coords and had two possibilities. Walking around it became clear which one was correct. Spent quite a few minutes searching, looking high and low when OrionJ exclaimed Found It! What a clever hide. TFTC.

There is nothing like a pre planned day off work to go caching, even better when it is actually that infamous bonus day of every four years. To top this off this is my first ever cache find on the 29th of February, and the last date on which I needed to find a cache to fill in the last square of the found date calendar.

I arrived here with LHE Duo, and we got to walking along the path after parking the car. Soon we arrived at the first waypoint, not quite sure what we were looking for here, I was after a container, but soon enough Mr LHE Duo spotted something, which turned out to be quite difficult to read as it has blurred somewhat. However we still got some numbers and followed along.

After a lovely walk along the boardwalk we got start on the hunt. A few places checked and nothing, still more areas checked and still nothing. Hoping that the numbers were right a little reading and a little checking of some more spots still resulted in nothing. Hoping that we would not have to walk away empty handed, we soon looked at something else and I got an idea where to look and sure enough it was the cache. Quite happy we got the log book signed and soon moving on back to the car.

It has been too wet for a ride in the forest today, so I decided to head this way and hunt some urban caches instead. I chose a central parking spot and headed off on the geocycle to hunt for some smilies. Smile

This one was a fun little detour to a lovely little spot. It is a shame that you are not allowed to ride this area, but I guess the boardwalk is a bit narrow.

The numbers at the Wp are very difficult to read which makes finding the final a bit more of a challenge.

I was only really unsure about the end digit so I knew I would get close. The numbers I had put me well in to the water, so I had a bit of a hunt in some other spots.

After a long hunt in several spots with no luck I resorted to a PAF. GZ was a reasonable distance from where I had been hunting.

A nice quick find when you are in the right spot. Razz

We were having a drive down the coast from Broadbeach remembering old times when we brought the kids up for holidays in Tweed Heads about 25 years ago. Knowing that we would come this way one day during our holiday, I had picked this cache out as it appeared to be "unloved"...not found for over 6 months...but more on that later.

We parked in the suggested location and walked to WP1. After hunting around for a while I finally spotted what I was looking for...the co-ordinates for GZ. I had some difficulty interpreting one of the digits but as it was the "thousandth" it wasn't going to make a lot of difference. We walked around to GZ, enjoying the view and realising that we had never been in this part all those years ago.

At GZ, it took a little hunting before I found the cache...and when I opened the log book, I was a little surprised to see that there been a couple of visits to the cache in December...just not logged on-line. So while it looks like an "unloved" cache, really it isn't so i won't claim it as such. Even with the recent visitors, the Geocoin was still there so I swapped it with a Trackable I have been carrying for a while now...hopefully it won't stay here too long.

Thanks Angel Dust for the cache...and showing us a different part of Tweed Heads.

Out and about for my daily find ... again. Razz
I have been to this cache a few times now and thanks to the CO there is a cache here to find again. Cool
This CO has a couple of great multi's and it would of been sad to see one go if this one was to be archived. Sad
A quick find here today as I knew where it would be after a couple of visits to GZ. Wink
Thanks for the cache and keeping it going. Big Grin
I also left a TB for the next finder to move on.

25-Jun-15
I checked this cache out today and found it missing I have replaced it so all is well again
PLEASE REPLACE THE CACHE AS YOU FOUND IT.
Regards Angel Dust.

After talking to another previous finder I returned hoping to find this cache.
The location I have been give is the same from all friends.
Maybe the high tides in March/April [?] after the big storms took it away.

Out and about today to find a cache for today. Smile
This cache was my target for today.
After sorting out the description, I eventually found wp1. Big Grin
Such a great spot at GZ. Smile
After 20 minutes searching I contacted a couple of previous finders, both gave me the same information and still no cache. Sad
The CO might want to check the final.

A day of caching with friends saw some of attempting this cache for a second time. Extra eyes and determination meant the cache was located after a bit of searching. TFTC.

02-Jan-15
A day out with friends doing some caches around the Tweed. This was one of our last for the day of caching. After obtaining the final waypoints we were on our way to GZ. A bit of searching , eventually found, and then we were on our way back to our cars. TFTC

This was a very sneaky hide and very clever. Never been around here before found with joo joo57, gullivers travel54, Richmond lad and Diamonjs. TFTC

cache find #2217. We strolled over to the waypoint, and found what we needed to proceed on from there. Made the walk to GZ, and geofriends RichmondLad and Rusty85 along with MrGT54 made the find. TFTC.

02-Jan-15
I could start this by saying "when I was a little girl", I truly remember this when it was just swamp and fisherman were the only people who came here. Our group made the trek, log was signed and we ambled back to the vehicles our last caches for the day now insight. TFTC

27-Oct-14
WP1 solved (clever!)and moved on to GZ. Muggle researchers there so spent time watching jellyblubber while geohubby searched for about 30mins, researchers left so we got in to serious searching but interrupted by muggle family after 10mins. Disappointed couldn't log find but lovely to go back to some childhood fishing spots while holidaying on the Gold Coast

Geo Wife & I headed down this way today to clear out a few caches in this area that we hadn't found.

This was also a special day for me as it is my birthday and I wanted to do some of my favourite game. Smile

I had tried to find this one so long ago I can't remember when it was so it was good to come back with another set of eyes and an extra brain.

I showed Geo Wife WP1 so she was part of the whole experience then we headed off along the path and the boardwalk to GZ.

It was a beautiful day, a very pleasant walk and the views over the water were spectacular!!!

We searched around GZ and nothing became clearer than the first visit.

We encountered 2 muggles at separate times and felt vulnerable so we resorted to a PAF and had the cache in hand soon after!!!

Thanks Angel Dust TFTC SL TNLN We will give you a favourite point for the beautiful scenery!!!

I have to say that I found the description and the cache confusing to solve but that's maybe the way you designed it but if you wanted input on how to make it clearer I would be happy to help out!! Smile

Wow. Our family is new to this game and we almost gave up with this one. We were almost at cache site and turned around. we walked around for quite some time. even walked the wrong way in the complete opposite direction. We really need to invest in a proper GPS and need to learn how to enter values correctly. Lucky we have a switched on child who looked up past log photos of the cache site. Talked to some muggles without giving away what we were doing and they pointed us in the right direction. Found it in the end. The walk was so well worth the effort.

Yayyyyy 2nd NSW geo cache. Took my dad on his 1st geo, a couple was near by and asked them for directions, they asked what we were doing and dad explained it's like putting a letter in a bottle. And there reply was our son does Geo Caching HAHAHA they already knew all about it and excited to see one near their home. New geo caches joining tonight to the worldwide fun Smile
thanks angel dust for email explaining this cache more clearly Smile

02-Aug-14
found this a bit confusing to start with, did find the "man of trees" plaque which was interesting. decided we were in the wrong spot and headed to the "physical stage", still no real luck which was a bummer cause I was showing some newbies the ropes.
Still; used the caching brain and decided to check out the most interesting tree in the area, had an aha moment and we were off!
the tide was high today and we fish spotted along the way, saw some pelicans too. get to the GZ and much hunting around before the Mum of "Mum and Tom" found the prize. I was pleased to see a pathtag amid the other interesting swag which gave me a chance to explain how they worked.
No muggles around today although a passing man told us he used the interesting tree for meditation contemplation.

09-Jul-14
I returned and found with a nudge from riverunners. I didn't need to do the scrub turkey treatment with the leaves even though that would be higher and dryer. TFTC.

08-Jul-14
Great location, but the under boardwalk, tree, leaf litter, spiky bushes, and non-spiky bushes didn't reveal the cache. ISAG.

06-Jul-14
A beautiful spot and well deserving of a cache but like lots of cachers before us we struggled with the poorly written description. The posted co-ords should be put in as a Parking waypoint. The 'proceed to' co-ords should be the posted co-ords. Ground Zero should only refer to where the actual cache is hidden (not a waypoint) and the hint should be changed to reflect the colour of the container now (black not green). One has to wonder why, on a difficulty 1.5, nearly a third of the logs are DNF's. Once we overcame all these obstacles we very much enjoyed getting the finish of this one. Another great spot that we would never have found if not for caching. SL TFTC

13-Apr-14
Fantastic morning walk with the geofamily by the water to a quick little find. Then the muggles arrived so it took a while to be able to replace the cache. TFTC.

Didn't find it but had to leave after 15mins as we were running out of blood. Mosquito repellent is a must for this one!

17-Feb-14
On a trip to the area to meet up with family, we took the opportunity to do a little caching on the side. Thoroughly enjoyed the area and saw some spectacular views during our visit.
This had us a bit stumped at the start but we found where we were going wrong thankfully and headed off to GZ in no time. Lovely area and enjoyed the stroll Once we were at GZ we didn't have any trouble finding the cache. Obviously the cache had been replaced since the last finder because it was in excellent condition.

Cache is completely soaked through

17-Jan-14
As I drove down the tree lined road towards the parking co-ords with a multitude of housing on one side and a near full marina on the other, little did I know GZ was in my line of vision aswell.
Arrived at the carpark and a few muggles were heading over for a bit of fishing. They paid no attention to me so I took off to WP1 without hesitation.
I got a little confused as to where I would find the final co-ords as initially I searched the wrong tree but after a bit of wandering around I soon found what I was looking for. With the new numbers punched in I was off again.
I must admit, when I first looked at this listing a few months back I had the feeling it was going to be a dense mangrove swamp for some reason. So I wasn't really looking forward to it today but how wrong was I. This is an amazing hidden area of the coast which once again has been brought to my attention by this amazing game. I love how the twisty walking track turns into an old boardwalk which leads to a manicured lawn, awesome.
With one eye on a few muggles across the way attending to their boats and one on GZ I soon come up with the prize. Despite the four bags and the plastic container the cache was completely soaked. All I could do was tip out the water and scratch my name on the back of the log book. Wasn't sure that the spot I found it was it's hide so I placed it a little higher. It was probably why it was full of water.
On the way back I fed the local mullet some of my sandwich, wow, once the smaller ones started eating the big boys came out of the depths to have their fill. There's some big buggers down here. I also caught sight of a few gannet dive bombing the water for a feed.
TFTC Angel Dust, I would recommend this one to anyone, a favorite for sure.

Found it! Quite a fun one to find.

01-Jan-14
Found this with another crew of geocachers we bumped into at WP 1. Took Tb. Tftc

27-Dec-13
I had no trouble reading the numbers at the way point so it was straightforward trek to the final. I had a really good hunt around the gz for quite a while before I caught sight of something out of the corner of my eye. I wasn't sure if it was the actual cache until I actually picked it up and examined it more closely. Good hide. What a peaceful locale and it was still too early to be troubled by muggles. Squeezed in a TB and a path tag too. Tftc

21-Aug-13
Fell for the trap of the few before us and was thinking we were at WP1 when were actually not even started. Found the coordinates for GZ but found that they had been tampered with by a muggle with a whiteboard marker. Tried reading it without much success before we worked out that we could scratch off the unwanted text. Talk the stroll to GZ and made the find. TFTC

21-Aug-13
WP1 where the coordinates are written may need some attention because someone has written over it with a whiteboard marker. We scratched off the unwanted text but is still pretty hard to read.

We were down in the South Tweed to check out the booze in Aldi.... really Razz. Mrs PJATPAC wanted to check it out, we were close... so that's where we ended up Smile. Whilst in there I saw a multi nearby & thought it sounded and looked interesting, so off we went. At the parking spot we saw a suspicious couple, so I asked "Excuse me, are you geocachers?" Yes! Said Petan - nice to meet you, so they joined us on this little adventure this afternoon.

We found the WP1 & Co-ords easy enough, though making sense of them in their current state took a little patience...Eventually the iphone gave me a WP on land, good start. Let's continue on Big Grin. This is what I love about geocaching. We met a new couple, had a great chat about geocaching, and got to explore a beautiful part of Australia that we never would have found without this little activity. I was happy for the company of Petan as well as the geokids would have been much grumpier without the injection of fresh energy & conversation Smile.

At the final we all set about searching, but eventually I turned up the goods. A few swaps made by geokids and logs signed. Replaced as found and a stop for a few happy snaps.

Cheers Angel Dust, a favourite point from us for the afternoon's adventure.

This cache has been on our nemesis list for a few years. We've attempted it a couple of times but always got stuck at the beginning. We even got a few clues from a previous finder and todays attempt was threatening to end in failure when we were met by PJATPAC who were also on the trail. They helped us realise the error of our ways (we were looking at the wrong set of co-ordinates for WP1, no wonder we couldn't find it! ) and together we headed off to the correct waypoint one.

Wow, WP1 is protected by a magnificent tree. Pity it wasn't able to protect whomever from adding and overwriting the new co-ordinates but together both teams were able to figure out what we needed.

We, Petan, knew roughly where we needed to go for GZ, we'd been there several times both before and after caching) , and with the adults looking, Mr PJATPAC came up with the goods. Yay!! After, letting the kids make their swaps we signed the log and headed back to the car while team PJATPAC continued to explore.

We're glad we now have a smilie for this cache and it was nice meeting another cacher on the trail. Thanks for the cache.

found with geokiddies! great walk, new fave spot!

08-Dec-12
We attempted this some time ago and managed to make a terrible hash of things but today, obviously more focused, dead easy. The only small problem, someone had penned in a few extra numbers but taking notice of the older writing is the way to go. TFTC Angel Dust, loved it.

Arrived with Mr gap team Herbz and the searching began.....without luck... mr Gap had me in the wrong place Twisted

Once at the right WP and you know which way is North.... this is actually easy!!

A really lovely walk along the boardwalk placed us in the right spot
Thanks Angel Dust, always enjoy your caches

14-Oct-12
Arrived with Ms Wig and the Herbz and I began searching without luck... I then realised I had my North and South mixed up Red Face... and it wasn't until after some more searching that I realised we were at the wrong WP!!! Oh dear!! this didn't start well for me.

So I found out, if you are at the right WP and you know which way is North.... this is actually easy!!

Really enjoyed the walk to GZ! Wow, what a fascinating boardwalk!! and a quick find at the end!!

Thanks Angel Dust, great little multi!

I wanted to notch up some multi caches and so found myself here today.
Had the area to myself and due to comments by others I was able to do this quickly.
Left a lovely geocoin hoping to bring more people down here.
Thanks again Angel Dust.

Like the previous entry, some of the numerals of the second coordinates were difficult to read. After realising our mistake, we backtracked and changed one numeral to #8 ....success.

Thanks Angel Dust, Found this one on second try, as reading co-ords at waypoint one was difficul

Struggled at WP1 as some numbers were hard to read.
Checked out a few options and the last one got me to the hide.

Back for another go at this one today. Lovely and cool, not too hot for geocaching. And the rain held off. This time it was pure pleasure, finding the way and enjoying the lovely walk. Having Aussie Liahona with me saved any uncertainty. And at GZ we could see the cache clearly. We covered it up with some typical geo-camo and took photos before leaving this splendid site. I'm giving it a favourite at long last.

Nice walk on a beautiful afternoon. The new GPS is working great...another successful multi! Log book is soaked but luckily someone has left a dry one. Loved the fun clues. TFTC

our first Tweed Heads cache while visiting my sister, we stuffed around a bit but got there in the end. replaced log book as the other one ( still in cache) is nearly papermache. seen lots of soldier crabs and toad fish trying to eat them.

13-Apr-12
Just as I started on solving this it started to rain. When I finally made it to GZ the logbook was saturated & I could not write my visit in the log.

Spent quite a long time here, found the WP1 but after that it was hopeless. I'm sure I had the right co-ords altho I couldn't see anything to match the 'fruit' clue. I swung a big arc and tried lots of places but nothing hid a cache I'm sad to say. I was disappointed because it had been found so recently. I'll watch to see when someone finds it. Lovely place to be this afternoon and I can see why it would warrant a favourite point. And I did go on to check out the fishing fleet. Lovely part of the world here on the Tweed.

This cache formed a part of my shotgun trip to Queensland. At the last minute I got asked to come to Queensland to do some work. So I made the most of it and bagged myself 100 odd caches while in the state. First grabbed a few caches in Roma before flying into Brisbane Airport where I hired a car at around 1PM. I then cached most the time till I caught a plane the next afternoon from the Gold Coast to Victoria. At one stage I took a power nap in the back of the car for about an hour to recharge when I was feeling a bit flat. Beside that it was not till I got on the plane did I have a chance to sleep. There was very little sleep had. When I got back to Victoria I made sure I grabbed one last cache so I ended up getting a cache in 3 Australia states in one day. It was a nice change to do a fun multi like this. Cache smells a bit. TFTC

We dnf'd this cache in May 2009 while remarking about this magical place. We finally made it back after having this on our watchlist for those two plus years and made a quick find. Didn't even have to turn the GPS on this time. The walk and final haven't changed a bit.
Stunning. A favourite for us.

At the car park on arrival, a bridal party being photographed with the three bridal cars ..... little Mazdas, each with suped up rotary engines. They soon went, literally in a cloud of smoke (hoons) and allowed focussing on the cache at hand. Proceeded to WP1, then N x 16m, gathered the new co-ordinates and headed off. Cache soon in hand. SL Thanks for the cache here Angel Dust and for the interesting walk. It gets a favourite from me. Wink cloudglider

On a short holiday from NZ. Found our way to WP1. Mr Ssmudge quickly found the final coords. Nicely hidden. On to the boardwalk and an easy find of the final cache. Thanks very much Angel Dust for bringing us to this place which we would never otherwise have found.

In life BGC (before geo caching) many years ago mrs j came to the Gold
Coast with her folding bike and without mr j. Can't remember what map she had but it must have been a good one because she found some wonderful bike paths including right to the end of this boardwalk. Today we hired bikes and came straight to the site of this final before checking the GPS and seeing a multi nearby. Found wp1 on the return. The co-ords seemed a ways out but the description fit perfectly. After more than a half hour trying and failing to find the offset decided to use cacher logic and try for the cache and after about 10 minutes cache was in hand. Left pathtag took mini carabiner. Great place for a multi but we sure struggled given the difficulty rating maybe a hint for container at offset would help. TFTC

This was our second look here. Had WP1 worked out very quickly on the first visit but the cache eluded us. This time we found the cache with a bit more of a serious look. This was a nice little walk and a lovely area to explore. TFTC

Found the first waypoint easily but when we got to GZ, We couldn't find the cache. We'll be back for another look.

12-Feb-11
I was out caching in the area with Fangsoki and decided to give this one a shot.

We tracked down the clue at waypoint one pretty quickly and had a nice walk to the final GZ.

I am not sure why there were no finds in 2010 as it wasn't too difficult to track down, once we re-read the description a few times.

It was interesting to see how nature had decided to hide one of the original clues.

Nice one Angel Dust. Thanks for the cache.

While signing the log one of those pesky cache dwelling frogs hopped on in.

Whats all this caper now? A cache with no finds for 14 months or so. With a confirmation from the owner everything was "Green light", Radnoski and I decided to tackle it. We had some personal fails on understanding about where the offset was applied.. but we managed to sort ourselves.. and come up with the cache. It was in excellent condition. TFTC Angel Dust - hope it gets a few more finds now Smile

Had a quick visit to this cache after reading the last no finds.replaced the
plate with the C/O for G/Z checked out cache all is O/K now.

HMMM!! Managed to find our way to the cache location, but to no avail. Had the two mini geo's with me which made it hard to search, but will try again soon. must read description again as there must be something cryptic there.
Until next time!!

04-Jul-10
Went today to try this one as had only gotten half way through it some months ago . We found that the tree has swallowed some of the co ords and they are hard to see . We put what we thought are the co ords but that led us to soneones back yard . After reading the clue , we found the planks but after a long search we came up with nothing . I wonder if it needs a look by the owner ?

After finding two of angel dusts we thought we'd know what to look for but with no luck after spending considerable time here.... hmmm will watch with anticipation from NZ

2/2 of Angel Dust DNF's for today. Pssshhh! I was a bit confused by this one. I wondered maybe if I missed a tag or something at wp1? Anyway, after reading the hint, I followed my nose and eventually found the planks and the park but couldn't locate the cache. I will return! Another lovely spot that I would never have found without geocaching. PS beware, the mozzies were out in force today.

I have re-read the description and I think the light has finally dawned re gz!

Our 175th cache and we LOVED it. Thanks Angel Dust. I knew we wouldn't be disappointed with one of yours. The walk was wonderful. Lovely breeze blowing. Great to be out in the fresh air. Yes, it pays to read the description verrry carefully. We had a couple of stumbles as we forgot the importance of the instructions. Found half way mark - great job Angel Dust! and then on to the cache. Took us a few minutes at GZ as there were several possibilities, but glad to report all was well. Found it. All's well! Replaced log ziplock as the other one had a few holes, but was nice and dry anyway. Took: zilch. Left: slinky, sharpener, windup pencil and a shower cap.

Had no luck with this one back in February, but this time I read the cache instructions verrry carefully and was rewarded with a pleasant wander and a cache find. In fact, the find at GZ was very quick because the cache was partly exposed - I suspect it's in its nature. Camo works but! TFTC Angel Dust.

RazzGeofamily including Geodog on way to dinner did this cache at twilight. Enjoyed watching the fishing fleet heading out. Fortunately at WP2 eldest Geoboy yelled "I found it"...and he had! We'd been rustling around in the Autum leaves for some time! Enjoyed walking the planks but got a little off track at GZ, which caught the attention of a neighbouring Muggle that seemed a little curious of our prescence. We held our position, enjoyed the view and when he wandered off a little, we quickly discovered the cashe. TNLN Thanks again Angel Dust for a great cashe in a lovely spot.Wink

Good one Angle Dust. Really enjoyed this cache. Nice area. Coordinates spot on and slightly cryptic nature added to the fun. Thanks.

Despite our lack of local botanical knowledge, we managed to find the WP (nice one), but had no luck at final so decoded hint. You call that a hint? It wasn't helpful at all.
Contributing to our DNF was not knowing what was public and what was private land.

We managed this one with two trainee cachers, one found the first co-ords and the other found the cache. L egg T pin TFTC

This was our second attempt at this one and we turned up trumps. First time round we found WP1 but couldn't get our hands on the cache. After a clue from Angel Dust we came back knowing what to look for. Took a pin and left some stickers.

Great multi, thank you, to a really nice secluded location. Had a taste of some forbidden fruit - delicious.
Unable to find the cache. Mind you 16m North put me in the water or at best Mangroves. I made the seat nearest the water a bearing of 050 magnetic so that gave us a rather large area to search.
Will watch this cache with interest and may well return on our next visit.

We are familiar with this location and so knew of the approximate final location by reading the long description and additional hint; without co-ordinates. However we feel the "man goes to a lot of trouble to grow fruit" should be at the end of the description. By altering this, the progression of waypoints becomes accurate and quite cleverly laid out. We spent 30 minutes at the final cache co-ordinates without success. As this area is well maintained, it may be worth checking that the cache has not been removed by a well meaning gardener. I notice that it has disapperared before.

Thanks for an interesting multi-cache.

This one had been muggled when we tried for it a few weeks back so we went straight to GZ hoping to find the nice, new shiny cache that Angel Dust put there. Didn't take long to locate. Lovely park - well recommended if you're in the area.

Cache was gone, I have now replaced with a new cache, only a couple of feet away from the old spot but in a safer place. Please replace as found.
