This was my last of a quick six finds this morning. I came up early from sydney to find a couple of caches before a mucic festival nearby, at Gosford Showgrounds.

I ended up standing in the heat in a line for about 1 hr. If I knew the gates did not open till 12 and the first band did not start till 1pm I would not have goten there at 11am. I would have got in more caching.

The festival was good though.

Lovely boardwalk through the wetlands and found the cache easily using the hint. We should have just trusted our new Oregon GPS'rs before using the hint as they were both spot on at GZ Red Face
Walked the loop back to the car and enjoyed every minute of it.
Thanks Grank for the cache Big Grin

Nice spot. Was going to get the travel bug but the previous cacher got it. Too bad as I am off to Norway in a couple of weeks and the cache has to get to Denmark. Oh well. TFTC.

23-Oct-07
I enjoyed the boardwalk and reading the informative signs along the way at the end of my day's work in Gosford. Sadly, in spite of hunting in what I thought was the right area (plus some), I was unable to come up with the goods. Having spotted a place that seemed to fit the description in the hints, I will just have to watch the logs to see if it was me having a "boy's look" (it's been known to happen once or twice!), or if the cache has gone "walk-about".

Thanks anyway to Grank for showing me an interesting pocket of habitat that I would otherwise never have visited.

15-Sep-07
Found this one today after a short stroll along the board walk. The GPS wanted a different spot to the one we found the cache on. The oldest Geodaughter should take the credit for this one as I was looking in completely the wrong place.
We have placed the Peg TB in here I hope she finds many more enjoyable places to travel. No swaps today TFTC SL

09-Sep-07
The ran let up as I approached the cache, but it had already done its job keeping the whole area empty for me. Glad I was in my wet weather gear as I had no qualms kneeling in puddles to search. The pants worked and I found the cache after a little searching.

This one took a bit longer to find than we thought it would. We were just going through the "it may have been Muggled" stage, when we widen the search and found it just as described.

Took two tries. The first time, my GPSr showed good accuracy and took me right onto what the clue described, so I confidently looked around but couldn't find it. What a nice spot! I moved up to the coast from Sydney 6 years ago and this was the first time i had been here! Nice day, nice walk and not a single muggle to be found! Nice and easy. A frisky muggle couple nearby meant some stealth was needed, but they were too busy getting busy to notice me. Peri the Platypus TB was not there - was collected by a Canadian team on 8 December 2006, and is still not logged online.

A great stop on our trip to Brisbane. Had never seen mangrove in a swamp before. Picked up the platypus travel bug and will take to our next stop in Canada.

Ama and I stopped in here on our way to Lisarow. Great spot! This is not a type of ground cover we're familiar with in Victoria BC. Really enjoyed walking the boardwalks and reading the info signs. Many thanks!

19-Nov-06
Lots of searching around on our knees, but turned up nothing. [Pretty sure we were on the right corner, but checked others as well]

1 of 1. 4.50pm. Cache 125.
Retried this one as I was determined to find it, especially as someone else has since I failed to. I was a little more thorough this time, and was successful. Left Peri the Platypus TB (one of my own, starting her journey). Took nothing. T4TC.

11-Nov-06
After searching 45 minutes on our knees we could not find this one. Area was dry but maybe the tide has washed it away. We will try again when we have more clues

Nice walk, would have been better if I had been able to find the cache.
Tried in the obviuous place as suggested by the clue. Then I checked the other bends in the path (well, under them) as one of the other logs suggested that the co-ords were out by 20m or so.
Tried everything I could think of. No luck. So either I missed it (and I think I was fairly thorough) or it has been muggled.

2:52pm
Late lunch in the park near here and then a bit of a wander to find this one hidden away. Easy find, took a pen and left a box of clips.

Cheers

02-Sep-06
What a nice cache! Didn't take description with us, which made us search for an hour Smile)
A problem was that co-ords were about 20 m away from the container. Still we were persistent enough to discover it.

Took Polynesia TB to make it roam some more and a rubber cat for friends. Traded for a Sherlock doll.

27-Aug-06
Lots of baseball games going on nearby but only had to wait for a dad and two kids to leave the area before we found the cache. Took TB and left TB Polynesia.

22-Aug-06
Nice easy find but got wet knees, a school carnival was in progress nearby but no muggles in vicinity of the cache, which was in perfect condition.
tn left T.B. Fitz Giggles Mobile Clown School.
Thanks for giving us a reason to visit this wonderfull area.

16-Aug-06
I was driving this way so stopped of for a few minutes. Well, I finally found a sistema not suited as a cache - the lunch box with cooler. Replaced the container and contents (I'll dry them out at home). Log book is in tact.

15-Aug-06
My GPS made this one a bit more difficult than I expected it to be. I suppose the tree cover threw the signals off a bit. At one point I was 20 metres off. But anyway, after a a bit of searching in areas suggested by the hint, I laid hands on it - and then wondered why it had taken so long! The container was very wet inside. I was able to dry it out a bit, but it needs a little TLC. The official geocaching notice is very soggy, but the log is safe in its baggy. TNLN. Thanks for the visit. By the way, it's my first Gosford area cache - staying with friends for a week.

08-Jul-06
We were on our way to find park'n'ride and realised we had gone past it, this one came up on the GPS and in we went. Mr S'Downer found it easily and I retrieved it being very careful not to get marshy knees. Had no swaps on me sorry. TNLN Thanks heaps!

11-Jun-06
I went to the look out at the end first and was about to go back and start looking when a couple came up the board walk. I though I would have to wait these muggles out until I saw them pause at GZ in Classic GPS stance. I confirmed it was a fellow geocacher when I saw the GPS in ther hand. I let them think I was leaving the area but came back and introduced myself when they started to search. Turned out to be the Bateau Bay Bandits.
It took a while for the find it, we tried feeling around with no luck. In the end I spotted it from a distance and retrived it. There was about a inch of water in the cache and the geocache information sheet was covered it mould. Log book was not wet. TNLN. Thanks Grank

11-Jun-06
The encounter is now well documented.

I must say, Supermoosie has a great dog!
Placid as you could hope for and quite a looker as well.

We all got very wet knees looking for this one but Moosie found it in the end.

Took the "barrel of monkies" monkey and left a playing die.
Thanks for the cache Grank and thanks for your assistance Supermoosie. Would probably still be looking without you!

11-Jun-06
Waited for what we thought was a muggle and his dog going for a walk to leave. The muggle and his dog were waiting for us to leave. Hence, a mexican stand off ensued. As it turned out the muggle was a fellow cacher Supermoosie, so we banded our efforts together to try to find the cache. Now we had the three amigos all looking for the cache, looking extremely suspicious lying spread eagled on the decks.

Luckily Moosie came up with a good alibi if a muggle should happen to come by. Of course we were all looking for my ring that I had dropped.

We had all looked for quite a while until "Supermoosie" put on his super hero cape and came to the rescue and found the cache. Great effort Supermoosie.

Thanks, Supermoosie and Grank - tough find.
Took plane and Left Wizard figurine

29-May-06
First cache of the day. GPS reception wasn't great - but a quick find none the less. The cache container had a few inches of water in it, so I emptied it out, dried off the contents as best I could and signed the damp logbook. I think it may have been a victum of the recent king tides...

TNLNSL.

Thanks Grank for another great cache in another great location.

14-May-06
Caches are easier to find with a correctly programmed GPS. Dropped off Bayou Beastie TB so she can continue her journey up North to meet Steve. Picked up Fish Out Of Water TB so she can come to Sydney to an equally nice Alligator friendly environment.

06-May-06
This was our preferred cache to drop off TB Bayou Beastie and was the main reason we decided to visit the Gosford area for a pleasant Saturday of geocaching. A mis-programmed GPS stopped us from finding this (or any other) cache - see my entry about GPS error in the Groundspeak forum.
