På djungelutflykt med svågern så kämpade vi oss fram till denna utsiktsplats. Gömman hittades enkelt, även ett gäng myror hade hittat den .
Short and nice trek to this beautiful spot. The container and its colony of ants was quickly found .

Have wanted this one for awhile. WOW what a view. Lots of tree hugging on the final descent. Fav point for view and butterflies. TFTC
With beautiful weather, and the promise of a good rainforest walk, we decided to do this one in the morning, knowing the views would be great with such clear skies.
The Trail and the accompanying birdsong was beautiful, undulating up-and-down until we arrived at the last 50 m. it was then time to apply low gear as we made our way to GZ.
The trail is in excellent condition, and very shady which was lovely today.
We noticed the new and the old logbooks, and decided to sign both.
Thanks GeoDash,
Domsky

Thought I would try this on a cool day, great walk up took a little to locate.. Tyftc
Still feeling the effects of yesterdays pyramid walk set off around lunchtime to visit this spectacular cache. Not the only person doing this today and had to outwait 2 groups at the lookout before finding the cache using the description, the gpsr has been against me all weekend anyway. Left the old logs in there but put a new book as well in a separate bag. Breezy but sunny day with great views at the end of a well formed track. Thanks for the cache.
What a fantastic walk into GZ today. The humidity had the sweat rolling down our backs, but it was worth it. I wish I had read some of the previous logs, because the log was a wet mess. I would have grabbed a new sheet of paper, oh well. Hopefully it will dry out soon. TFTC Geodash
After being on the bucket list for too long finally got time to go for a walk this morning, took 40 mins to walk in as track in great condition.Found cache easy enough but water has damaged everything inside. Made the trek half way to the camel humps but ran out of time and has to turn around. First chance I get I’ll return with supplies to fix both up. Track looks well marked towards Bentley park
Wow what a view this is why I love geocaching , if it wasn't for this Cache I would have never come up here thanks for this hide .
This is our first cache. What a spot for our first. Thank you. Look out for the limerick. PAL
What a view!! This is a great place for a cache. Ive always wanted to come to this rock but I didnt know there was a track here until I saw your cache. The track itself is in good condition and easy to follow. The cache is in good condition too. Thanks for bringing me here! TNLN SL TFTC
Looking at the gallery it appears to have an amazing view however due to the weather all we could see was greyness.
Great fun though and the rain just made it all the more fun.

Fantastic walk to cache site. Lovely views on a beautiful clear day. Unfortunately couldn't sign the log as the pen didn't work. TFTC TNLN

Second find of the morning after a 2 hour walk from Bayview up the old mountain bike track.
A perfect Cairns morning.
Left a shot glass and took nothing.
Easy to find from the good directions provided
Look out for the wait a while.

It has been several months since the last logged find. We were fortunate to have followed some hikers with machettes who had trimmed back the follage, but there was still heaps of wait-a-while to be negotiated. The initial walk from the power tower to the communication tower really knocks your energy levels, but the walk/slide down to the cache site is a real piece of work and, that's before you find the energy to return back up to the peak. Have looked at this cache for a while and am glad that it has been completed. Not keen to do it again in a hurry though. Took nothing and left nothing. You are an eveil person GeoDash.
Well worth the hike not just to find this cache but also to appreciate the fanstastic panorama. Track is currently in excellent condition.
Recommend you take a thermos and some nibbles and take the time to relax and enjoy the beautiful views of Cairns, north and south.
The track is very clear at the moment and very easy to follow. There are a couple of great specimens of fungi and strangler fig on the way.

Revisited Whiterock The High Life expecting some great photos of the valley below, unfortunately the clouds were thick and we only caught a glimpse of the houses as the clouds went past.
Found the new cache container left by Walter, however with the low cloud today there was no chance of drying out the logbook.
With all the recent rain the track from Copperlode Dam road was muddy and slippery, and the ground was infested with leeches, our group included a number of children and they all were covered in the wiggling creatures.
Again a good trek in and out via the same route. It was hard work in the wet.

The next visitor should definitely come on a fine day in order to expose the log book to the sunlight for some time so that it can be used again. Be careful with the glass container in the rocky spot and hide it in an upright position again.
Well, I passed here once more doing the walk from Bentley Park via Spinnout's Sanctum - Is That A Camel Up There? - White Rock - the high life in Cairns - Morris Copperlode - Ivan's Viewpoint. Unfortunately, it was raining all the time, the view was just into the mist and I changed the container after pouring out the old one. I was unable to dry the contents.
Happy Hunting!

Attacked this one from the Bentley Park end. It was a tough slog fest. Armed with a set of cutters each we cleared the track and had lunch on the rock. Left the lion travel bug and took nothing.
Found at 7.48am.
Left the vehicle at the recommended parking area and passed entrance gate at 6:46am. Headed up to the Comms tower via the steep access road, glad the rest of the trail is very easy as this first section was tough.Arriving at Whiterock we were happy to see most of the smoke from the Yarrabah fires was not sitting in the valley below and we had good views from the city to Edmonton. The cool breeze was also a Godsend. Found the cache quickly and changed the cache container with a new Camo one from Searchwise015.
Signed log and did some swaps. Spent a while admiring the views and then headed off for another cache nearby 'Is that a Camel up there?' before continuing down to Mt Sheridan.
Great walk and even better views.
Thanks for bringing us here.

Walked up from Spinmeouts Sanctum with Herd of Camels, doing some track clearance along the way. Did a bit of cache maintenance as well. The cache contained a lot of water. returned the cache to its hide with the lid down so hopefully the water will drain out and the bush critters will gnaw a hole in the bottom/top thereby allowing the water to flow straight through. Grabbed the coins so as to get them moving.
Headed out with Mr Searchwise015 to do another bushwalking cache today. Parked the "GeoLandy" @ S16.58.205, E145.42.640 and wandered up to the "Coms Tower" S16.58.367, E145.42.683 to begin the walk. The hardest part was the walk to the "Coms Tower" at the start and the scramble down the hill at the end to the lookout area. The track is in good condition with only two or three big log crossings to tackle. We followed the pink tape that turned blue and yellow at times. We ran into Green Gecko's fork in the track at about S16.58.593, E145.43.281 and saw a little sign on a tree pointing right that said "WR 20 mins". We followed this right to the GZ. TFTC TNLN SL
What a great walk. was challenged by the start but thankfully the path got easier as we progressed. Great views at the end. TNLNSL.
Dropped by to return the dried pages from the old log book, and to put an extra sealed plastic bag around everything to help keep it all dry. We walked up from the water tank at the top end of Herald St, Bentley Park, via "Is That A Camel Up There?". The return walk to White Rock took us just under four hours, with plenty of stops for drinks, views and heart rate recovery. The track has been opened up very well by the Cairns Bushwalking Club since my last visit just over a week ago, and is now quite a decent trail. You still need to be aware of wait-a-while in places, but the track is well defined in most places and marked with yellow tape in all the tricky places.
Finally got to this one after several years of looking at the Rock as I drive by on the highway. Walked up the re-opened track from the Bentley Park end past "Spinouts Sanctum" and "Is That a Camel up There?" - the final km or so is quite dense with plenty of wait-a-while, but the track is easily navigated and is defined sufficiently that you can walk at a steady pace. I replaced the log book and put it in a new sealed bag, but have removed the old logbook as it was nearly pulp. I will dry it, and replace it in the next few weeks so previous cachers will still have a record in the cache. The cache container has a few chew-holes in it, and I did not have a new container to replace it (perhaps next time?). Took the Taipans neck cord, left a penny. The views from up here are magnificent. TFTC.
Last 400m requires some climbing over and under tree falls, and the last 50m is a steep drop. There is loads of flagging tape, in fact at one point it looked like prayer flags in the forest. With prayer flags on my mind, it was touching to see some from a family at the top of the rock.
To find the cache you do *NOT* need to go anywhere dangereous up or down - stick to the tracks and levels.
A critter has chewed on the cache, and the logbook is still wet, I suggest the next visitor may want to take a new log book.
Hint: the tearoom down the road is open 8am-3pm so try and time it well, or take your own supplies, its a lovely setting.

Went and tackled this one on my own today because the other party past up the opportunity because of a breakfast engagement.
I attempted it not long after cyclone Larry but was stopped by tree falls and failing light. This time I went armed with a machete and gloves, only to be pleasantly surprised by how clear the track was.
There is fresh pink flagging the whole length of the track and red flagging at a major tree fall. It took me a good hour to walk in and under an hour out.
Found the cache after a short hunt only to find the container completely full of water. I spent a couple of hours sitting on the rock drying out the log and talking to other hikers that came along, they were all very interested in what I was doing and were amazed at how many caches are around the place.
Once all was dry enough the cache was returned to its hiding spot. I've placed it upside down in an attempt to keep the water out.
TFTC it made for a great day out.

The road has been closed for several weeks now. Will try to advise when the road is open again.
I involved a lot of people to find the trailhead. I guess I did not read the directions before. But finally I made it up to the white rock. The view is awesome.

Took the right path this time. The 'Wait a Wile' vine was worse after the split in the track but still might be ok with out a machete. It was becoming dark when I arived at the cache, so I didn't hang around too long. You really want to make sure you get back out of the 'Wait a wile' area with good light or you could scratch your eyes in the gloom. Took a pink gel pen left the green jeep TB. The view was well worth the effort.
I found out that there is a fork in the track. It was only on the return journey that i noticed it. Its at a big patch of wait-a-wile vine, with the track going a bit random. Any way.... lookout for the fork at 16o58.5932's 145o43.2811'e. and watch where the gps is pointing as I ended up way down the hill with the cache up and behind me without looking at the gps.
Also as a spoiler the location of the enclosure is 16o58.3575's 145o42.6954'e. I came with a machete for the wait-a-wile but the track is now quite good if other people dont have one. I had to return to the car after my miss adventure as the light was failing but will return soon.

Revisited the stunning spot. This time I approached the proposed way, which turned out much easier. The cassowary droppings are still there although the seeds began to germinate.
A lady advertised on a laminated paper that she lost her knife on the path some time ago. It is of sentimental value.
The container meanwhile is in bad condition due to rodents' attack and does need a replacement.
I wonder whether it would be possible to deter those animals by adding a bit of naphthalene or sulphur to the contents. One should give it a try.

Brilliant day!
Climbed from SE (end of Foster Rd at the southern End of Forest Gardens). Took me about 1h30'. Last part very steep.
Looking down I can see where I started the walk (1.1 km as the crow flies). It is a very nice spot.
T green Ming Vase
L pink fluoro pen
The way down was much more demanding and took me 2h. Though using the "recalculate" feature, I missed watching the GPS and got lots of trouble especially at the last part with really nasty Guinea Grass.

Okay, where to to start...
We started our cache hunt at about 4:00 pm, but this was defenitily too late to finish the way. The access to the track was easy to find and the first section of the track is well marked and very easy to follow. But then, the climb over fallen trees (shame to Larry) in conjunction with the steep way downhill was more difficult as we thought and very hard to follow. At about 5:30 pm and lots of wait-a-whiles we decided to go back as we are not crazy enough to try to find our way back uphill through this rainforest after it's becoming dark.
Nevertheless, a very intersting "walk" trough a wet tropic rainforest but the hunt might not be finished in just 2 hours. In our opinion, at the moment (once again: shame to Larry), it will took about 3.5 to 4 hours.
Mattes + PaulHarris
PS.: Sorry for our delay in logging, but we just arrived in Germany. It's always a bit problematic to find an internet access when we are on holidays in Australia.
PPS.: Sorry about our English.

Well...This could turn into a epic log.. There is a lot to say.
We have treatened to change our names to Stumbles and Mumbles.after this one. And like some others we didn't read the logs or clues completely so took some time to find cache.
The day started badly by sleeping in [|)]then stopped at the wrong track off Lake Morris Road so had to regroup. On the right track now and what a spectacular walk through the rainforest dodging wait awhiles and other very thorny vines and falling over a log or two.[B)] Thanks to Cyclone Larry's efforts.
It turned into a nature trip as well as we encountered 2 lots of Cassoway droppings, a couple of goannas
Took Grasshopper and Left Car (plus lots of sweat)Signed Log
Thanks Geo Dash for a Fantastic Hide - You now have a reputation to uphold

Beautiful spring day and fantastic view. I haven't been up here since Cyclone Larry. I certainly appreciate the blazes and track clearing that someone has done on the last section with all the wait-a-while down. I came along the ridge from Lake Morris road. Last time I came up here was from the ridge that runs up from Timberlea, but I wasn't feeling that energetic today. Thanks for the cache, it took me a bit of searching as I hadn't read the clue, and my GPSr indicated about 10m further SE. Took If's Australian Beer TB and left giant locust. SL
Ahh another FNQ cache. This one lived up to expectations despite the rather matter of fact description [^]
Love the landscaping along the trail. A fallen tree here, a sramble through the vines there and a wait-a-while now and then to get your breath back
Fantastic views at the end of the, er, trail. Cache is in good nick and not too hard to find, phew
On the return journey I couldn't help but think that Hollywood had made a movie about this cache. Jumanji I think it was called. Look out any cachers who are lured into putting their GPS on the board [:o]
took a 'wedgewood' tea cup and left a 'ming' vase.
Dropped in If's Holiday Beer Bug as after this cache a cold beer was welcome

Another perfect day in FNQ and another opportunity to go scrambling about the scrub!
We found the trail in fair condition until the last 500m and as, Bigfellow pointed out, the cyclone damage really slows one up. Other walkers have been along this track with machete and in some parts a new track has been marked. Look carefully for the ribbons marking the trail. The wait-a-while is still there and almost impossible to avoid.
Notwithstanding the above, we found the cache and enjoyed the view from the rock. We speculated that this is the best view of Cairns that we had encountered so far. We took the yellow key tag and left 5 x SNG 20 cents. SL TFTC.
Cache is in good condition and dry apart from a few marks where critters have gnawed at the plastic. There is one small hole in the lid of the plastic container.

I visited this site before the cache was placed in the area so I was familiar with the track and the dreaded wait-a-while vine. We were the first visitors to the cache after Cyclone Larry and found a lot of damage in the area. The track is good condition for the first kilometre but deteriorates over the last 500 metres due to wind fall damage. It took us approximately 40 minutes to travel the 400 metres having to cope with the endless amounts of fallen debris and you guessed it, wait-a-while. We decided to use the western side of the ridge for the last few hundred metres because it had sustained less wind damage and we found it was easier going than the track, which was now buried under masses of trees and wait-a-while. Found the cache after a short search and took bubble blowing device and left little mug. Cache is dry and in good condition, except for a few critters nor marks. Thanks again to Geodash for the cache. Hint: Bring a machete
Wow what a great view. This was an awesome Cache. Our 1st FTF. Very exciting. Thoroughly enjoyed the walk, it started to rain just as I was heading back and the steep decline leading to the rock is even steeper when going up in the rain. A lot of fun though.
Great Hiding spot to.
