A week before my big trip to SA there was time for one last day trip. This time I headed out to Wyangla Dam region. I only found a broken Sistema lid, so gave up after not finding any more evidence. I wonder if the SRs replaced it or I missed completely. Oh well, I have three to get to out here now. Thanks.

Found at 1:52:00 PM.

A day of caching around and above the dam with the family and camping and caching friends.

Another great view for the afternoon. The drive here was dead easy except for the last few klms. We bbq'ed some sausages for lunch, pulled the dogs off a huge shingleback and after lunch JmanJezza played up and down the hill in his Jeep while the ladies relaxed.

Found with DogBoyOz and the JmanJezzas

Thanks wbfoto

My favourite views from all the places visited. WOW!!!!
Stopped here for lunch with Noikmeister and family, drove the kids down the hill to play in the lake. A favourite from me for sure.

I have been looking at this one from my boat many times, on Friday 26/7/13 I found a small red rubber fire truck on the river bank at my camp site, a few klms from you cache, I then worked out where to put it, in your cache.
I looked at the area where the cache is located and decided that I will return on a later date to do a big cache finding trip in the area.
Today I returned with the red fire truck in my pocket and my Suzuki DR650 trail bike, you now have the Little Red Rubber Firetruck in your cache.
Great view, I took heaps of photos, Oh the lid on the cache is starting to split so it wont be long and the weather will get in, I put the split face down and covered well.
Thanks heaps for the cache, well done, well hidden.

I've been wanting to do this cache for ages but either never had the time or had the wrong vehicle at hand. Today the planets aligned and I had the time as well as a 4x4. As my dad hadn't been to the dam for ages he decided to come along to keep me company, we both really enjoyed the drive in and thought the views from gz were sensational. After finding the cache we spent some time chatting to some camping muggles from Sydney who had turned up, they recommended a good 4x4 track to take home which turned out to be a beauty. Thanks scenic routers a top cache.

After trying a couple of options to get this way directly from meat shop and meeting 2 locked gates, we retreated out the way we came in and drove to this one easily. The views, well, just amazing, especially with the damn so full right now. A perfect spot for a cache. We sat on the sad picnic equipment and had a cool drink while we watched the activity on the water far below.

Cheers

Wow, what a view. Great vantage point and definitely a great place to visit. GZ is only spoiled by the ever present Scotch Thistle. Thanks for showing us this top spot.

with the dam almost full it seemed like a good time to visit this one. great views. worth the drive. track is 4wd only. cache was on top of the ground out in the open so had no problem finding it. returned to the most obvious spot and covered well....Thank you

First cache for a long time. Fabulous view. We used to ski down in the valleys when there was a lot more water in the dam. Thank you Scenic Routers.
I feel that it was a little spoiled by the people who found it after Suzukifreak and before us. They had used quite a few pages of the book to write crude messages.People should keep in mind that children are also a part of our caching families.

Found itBig Grin! I think I was lucky to find it in the end! It had been Muggled, sort of! It was laying out in the open, when I opened it up the log had about 8 pages of colourful language and other nonsense in it! I should be thankful they closed the lid and left it there! Anyway, I signed the log and re hid it with some rocks before making a coffee and taking in the view! Magic!! TFTC. (btw, that's my second old DNF crossed off the list today! Happy days!)

Well this one proved to be a challenge considering I was in the 2wd. Found the maze of tracks and it wasn't looking good with mud holes and ruts everwhere.
Did a bit of scouting and managed to get onto the right track that lead to the top of the hill. It took some careful wheel placement to get over rocks and around washouts as the ground clearance wasn't that flash. Would of been able to drive all the way if it wasn't for a huge tree that had been cut down across the track.
The 180m walk was easy enough up the hill and the cache was found safe and well in its hiding place.

I'm not too sure of what the 2 trailbike riders though as they passed me coming down one of the rocky sections of track. Back out onto the main road and into Cowra for a late lunch.

Searched for over 2hrs. Did not leave a stone unturned.
But still did not find cache. Very disappointing after the drive to top. 1st gear, low range 4X4.

Oh what a great view.

An outstanding place for a cache but no joy today. We missed the official turn off and ended up circling the for shore looking for a track. We found an unofficial track 180 degrees on the other side of the feature and what an adrenalin rush it was to ride. On the limits of traction the whole way, the zook in low first and singing a mighty fine tune and a view to die for at the top. Finding the cache would have been nice but we lucked out. I found what I imagined was a normal hiding spot for the routers but it was empty. I may have missed something so I will phone a friend and try again. cheers

It took us a while to finally get out to this one, and we wish we'd done it sooner. One Smelly had experienced the drive previously (about 20 years ago) when her Father took her to this very spot, for the other Smelly it was an adventure.
Once we got to the top, GZ was found easily. But after looking for about an hour, we had to admit defeat.
A message to one Mr Router, once we got back within reception, telling him of our find (or lack there of), and he gave us permission to log this one as a find, even though technically we did not sign the logbook. This is a top spot that is well worth visiting even with the dam so low.

wow what a view wrong hill at first however both views are great and what a drive.took earphone left neck cord

WOW! WOW! WOW! We love this cache! A cool 4wd only approach, spectacular views and a virgin cache all at the same time. What more could a person want? Oh yes, to claim the find for Fleet to Federation as well.

We took the first finders prize, now what to do with it? We really can't decide. We also took some pics. There's not much water in the lake atm, thankfully, would make the approach a little different.

TNLNSL. Thanx guys for another cool cache.
