Not getting out and about much in the caching world these days and this ones been on the shelf for a while so I am archiving it.
We knew this cache was disabled but while in the area we thought we'd check it out. The Hallows must have done a good job of cleaning it up because despite being in a very wet environment, the remaining small logbook was only slightly damp. We dried out the container again, put the logbook in a new plastic bag, and put the container in a sealed plastic bag. Thanks PaddyK.
Another one bites the dust! Cache on hold until I can get around to a replacement. Thanks to the Hallows and others for the feeback on state of cache.

Another lovely location and walk on a bright and sunny (if a little chilly) winter's day. Located cache without any hassles however it is in dire need of attention. The cache is sitting in its little home in a pool of water. The contents are all soaked and the log is pretty much cactus. Could not find any code word either.
DEPARTED : Lighter - doesn't work! Soaked scraps of log book. Fair quantity of water.
ARRIVED : Sunlight and new log bag.
Thanks for the hunt, paddyk.

An easy find in a quiet and beautiful spot. The cache was a little wet and so it was dried out as much as possible. SL TFTH Mog60
Spooky area when it's cloudy and the light filters down through the trees. Great fun!
Found it, the MOZZIES waere so bad. Dont forget the aerogard! took nothing left nothing TFTF
Had to beat a hasty retreat due to clouds of mozzies! Ross River Virus, Dengue Fever or Malaria - take your pick And it was the middle of a hot and dusty day to boot. Next time I'm wearing Ned Kelly's suit of armour!! No TB's for this cache today, I guess that I'll just drop them off around the corner at the meeting of the rivers
Was a pleasant walk down the grass avenue leading up to the cache site. Fortunately the ground was firm underfoot or though there was a certain 'aroma' in air which made the nose crinkle somewhat. It is a swamp, I suppose

lucky for me the tide was out , unlucky for me I was nearly carried away by the mozzies and ended with at least twenty bites

Cache was in poor condition wet and with no pencil.
Did not log it because I can never remember to take a pen.
Nice spot and fun to find.

Nice, slightly damp walk. So good that the mozzies joined us. Contents still slightly damp.

I saw this as a "not found" on the gps after doing Fishermans Basket, and when I read the cache listing I thought "I've been there". Checked my notebook and couldn't find any reference, so I walked in to check the logbook.
The container was clearly visible from about 10 metres away, no litter covering it.
My entry was for 20 Jun 07, I'd forgotten to write it in my book and therefore hadn't logged it online. I've now rectified the omission.
The container was half full of water, and the logbook just a little damp. I dried it out and replaced the logbook bag, and gave it a fresh cover of pine needles. It should be good to survive the rest of the winter now.

With iluvtrekking - not a registered cacher at this stage so not logged in book
Didn't expect to do this one today, saw it pop up on the screen so thought "Why not?"
As i hadnt expected the location to have dried out so quickly, and my main purpose was revisiting the other nearby cach to drop off a trackable, i negleted to bring my "stuff" Was pleasantly surprised at how dry it was,and found the cache so decided to swap trackables here...To-And-Fro was lesft, and i took the Geocoin to move on its journey. Will sign the little book when next passing.
Thanks for the Cache.
Thanks for the Cache.
Thought i might try this on the way home from work, and a break in the rain this arvo. Got very close to it..20 mtrs or so, but as i had a birthday party to go this evening, thought it prudent not to go paddling today. I'll wait for the "tide" to go out....
A little squelchy on appraoch was an understatement. I was up to my thighs in water approaching this one. A nice easy find. Found I had forgotten my pencil so couldn't write in the logbook. I left the Singapore geocoin to mark my visit.
An easy find once I worked out which street to approach from.

Had Ursula's grand-daughter with us in the stroller, so we really enjoyed the walk to the cache. Great afternoon for caching, nice and cool. Found the cache easily at 3:35pm. TN-LN-SL. Thanks for the cache PaddyK.
Thanks for the hunt, fount it late afternoon, good spot...lots & lots of mozzies tho.
A nice walk thru the park....around the lake. Next person to visit, please take a spare medium size sealable plakky bag. The existing bag is RS. TNLNSL
This is a great area and I enjoyed the walk and the hunt. The cache may need a maintenance run because when I arrived at GZ I found the container open and the contents spread all over the ground. I have repacked the container and replaced it in it's original hiding spot. The log book is a little worse for wear and you may need to drop by and have a look.
I really enjoyed the location near the river.

Nice area. Cache and logbook were quite damp. Probably could do with a few hours in the sun to dry out properly. TFTC
Found it without too much trouble.... lots of mozzies!! I'd take the RID with you for this one. Second for today, nice and close to Ngaruawahia.

A great little walk and an easy find on a rather pleasant late afternoon.
A short walk, and then an easy find. My first of 2 for this location. Thanks

This is a perfect example of "easy when you know how!" Last week tried to via numerous routes to reach this cache via the 'direct' route across the swamp lands, eventually exhausting myself and getting well covered in mud in the process, and giving up after an hour. Today, going via the proper track, was in and out again within 15 minutes, collecting a GC in the process! Thanks for a great adventure and a lovely walk along the river. Left foreign coins.
The way to the cache seemed to be nice and dry for us, but heaps of mossies at the end though! Great little spot, and cheers for the extra bonus - made the little fella's day! Don't forget to bring a pen for this one(we forgot).
Flop forgot to log this too .Sorry.Lots of mozzies at the end but still fun.TNLN TFTH.
Dropped by to check on cache and drop off "UK Traveller - Australia" geocoin.
Logbook as previously reported is damp and going a little moldy so I will return sometime soon with a replacement.
Have double bagged the geocoin I dropped off which I hope will keep it safe until someone manages to make the grab.

A nice easy find thanks to the good description. Your log book seems quite damp.

What a lovely WET & SQUELCHY day for caching, at least there were no muggles about. After investigating a couple of 'substantial' trees we repositioned ourselves and voila...some more squelching and there it was!

Nice and easy find. LS. Look out for the Mozzies they were out in force even in the winter.
Found it about 11.45 pm
a bit late but when you got the geo fever it's hard to know when to go home.
Great fun Thanks heaps.

Decided to make our way here after visiting Ngaruawahia. Logged our visit at 11:45pm. Great spot. Can't imagine too many people would get down here.
Searched around GZ for a while and were about to give up when we found it on the ground. Hope we put it back in the right spot. Interesting location. Thanks.
Its more than a bit squelchy at the moment I got to within 25m then had to take off boots & socks, when I reached cache the water level was up to my knees, so take your waders or wet suit Thanks
I found this one and another nearby today, the gps seemed all over the place and it took for wide area searching to find the container, this area is a little creepy and I wondered who planed all of these trees here and why?
I grabbed the code word and headed back to the other cache that I had found to look for my palm stylus that I had dropped.
Thanks for this cache

The last of three caches we found in this area today.
The cache was discovered by our youngest member (who is quite proud of himself!).
Taking a cautious approach (we checked the log entries before tackling this one), we avoided having to swim or play in the marshes. Nice scenery, especially along the grass fairway ... quite unexpected for this dry time of year.
Took: PaddyK card
Left: signature in log book.
Thanks PaddyK for a very pleasant site.

Found this one (after almost taking an unexpected swim - note to self, big open areas of green reeds should be avoided). It was a little bit of a surprise, since I accidently punched in the wrong weighpoint and thought I was somewhere else.
Tooks one of the cards, thanks for the hunt

It was very pleasant strolling along the track and saw over 15 magpies on the track. They looks pretty young and flew away to nearby when I came. It was a nice and quick find. LS and took a card. TB is destined to other cache. Thanks for the hunt, paddyk.
Second of three caches on the way to the airport to go home. This is the cache I meant to log a couple of nights back, when I inadvertently loaded number 001 into my GPSr. That mistake resulted in a hefty, and time-consuming detour, but that cache was a beauty! [^] So, it was good to be able to finally knock this one off before going home.
I had an interesting time trying to find the right way to approach this one. My first attempt had a swamp between me and the cache (SOP for the Emu Mob). I decided to go around the swamp, but this second attempt also had me 100m away with the swamp in between. Hmmmmm! I tested the swamp, and it looked like I might be able to traverse it. I set off, tripped, fell to my knees, and ended up with a lovely mud patch on each knee. [B)] That will teach me not to wear my travelling clothes when caching. Anyhow, common sense finally prevailed, and I followed the dirt paths, as advised in the cache description, and I soon found myself at GZ. The cache was an easy find at 0920. I didn't see any code word in the log book [?], but I grabbed a laminated card, in case that has it (I still haven't read it; it's in my luggage, about 2m below me as I write this log on the plane on the way home). Thanks to paddyk for the cache.
Update: I've looked at the laminated card, and there is no code word on it, so I still don't have it.

Was in the area today and decided to look for this cache in its new location but didn't take the new coordinates.
Fortunately I had looked at the location in Google Maps and found the right place from the that and the description.
So now I've found it twice, once in each spot.

Found the cache at 6.30pm It was bit dark but glad I make it - lovely walk to the cache and so happy to have 'finder rewards' Thank you Paddyk for wonderful organise the cache and hunt.
Saw this one pop up (again) and already knew the FTF had been claimed 4 days prior. An hour or so later I was hungry and had to pop down the shops for lunch and decided to go for a walk as well.
Found without a problem, opened the cache and saw a familiar face looking at me but left it alone, I already have one TFTH and 2nd prize

Paddy's right, it's not just another micro.
Well, it will be eventually, but this time around there was a Green Man lurking nearby, and a walk to another hidey-hole for the finder's badge (I left the bronze there as a present for the fourth-to-find)
I approved this (in my other persona as theUMP) and waited a couple of hours for the keen FTFers, then went out to check on a couple of caches of ours that are already in this vicinity. My cache-bag was used for other purposes recently, so my usual useful collection of stuff's not in it.
Hence the Bear_Left calling card instead of a log (no pen) and the well-fed mozzies probably still sleeping off their big meal (no Aerogard.)
I'm obviously biased, since I thought it worth a couple of caches, but this is an interesting little area.

After seeing this published (the original publish) and having just finished work I printed it out and then left home for the cache. Found it without too much trouble and also the FTF stuff nearby. Headed back home only to find that it had been retracted so was unable to log it at that time. It does seem funny to claim a find on something that is now not there.
Next chance I get to go out that way I will find it in its new position.

I have been told this is close to the final of another cache. I'll retract it while I check.
