Thanks for the attempt kwaka40. Sorry about the slow response, I was out of the country.
I think this needs to be archived No longer will the brown undies shine. I think this is a fantastic place for a cache, would be great if someone else can place one here. I'm moving overseas, so maintenance will go from difficult to impossible...

Planning to visit this one at the beginning of November.
Have contacted the cache owner regarding replacing the cache when we get there.
Nov 19th. Sorry. No response from the cache owner and we were unable to get to GZ on this visit.

I'm going to have to disable the undies for now, it sounds like it is gone. With the clue and the coords it should be an easy find. I have a volunteer who will replace the cache, but that isn't till march. If anyone can do it earlier, let me know. I'm hoping to make a trip next year, but that probably won't be till about march anyway.
Searched for this cache with MGROCKS
Sorry but I have made 3 attempts to find this cache over the last 6 days, I have had others with me and we haven't had any luck.
Did find lots and lots of places on the top of Pharos to place a cache.
Was worth the climb up The Shroud (others climbed "The Spiral Staircase") each time.
We looked in the crack across the top.
the cave that the crack leads down too.
the tunnel across the top, around the ledges we could reach without having to tie-in.
I am not sure of when I will be back in the area to have another look.

[Sadly I have to log a did not find for this one...We had a blast coming up The Shroud, and I was psyched for lunch and a cache on top. The GPSr took a while to settle down (I even explored a tunnel near the rap anchor on the Back Wall while it was wandering!), but eventually pointed me to] the crack along the main summit, near the cairn, matching the hint. I had a good look along the length of this, especially in the vicinity of some suspiciously piled rocks at one end, but failed to locate the cache.
[Oh well! It was a great climb, a great day, and a great week at Arapiles!]

The First time I climbed here I wasn’t a geocacher...
Naturally I began geocaching afterwards and found out there was a cache here....
A couple of years had to pass before the opportunity to climb here again presented an opportunity to grab it...
As Mt. Arapiles is a LONG way from Bowz2 country Unfortunately
Upon summiting...
Bowz2 to climbing partner... "Mate grab the GPS from the bag will ya"
Seconder... "GPS???... It’s in the bag at the bottom..."
Bowz2 “ok.... grab the cache notes I need the hint...”
Seconder “cache notes? They are in the car...”
Oh well It was a nice climb...
A quick look around failed to find the cache (there’s three cairns, and without the hint we had no chance)
Soon after acouple of pairs of climbers summited so with now howling winds and light rain we descended without the bonus of grabbing the cache...
Maybe next year on the (hopfully) yearly pilgrimage

Oh NO!
First trip to arapiles - thought I'd better not distract ourselves from the core mission of learning about seconding and multipitching and such like, so I looked at some caches on the computer but didn't put them in the GPS. Turns out we did climb the pharos and I probably stood less than a couple of metres from the cache!!!
Lamplighter was great fun - what a surprise when we got to the roof! Grade 14?
Guess I will have to go back!

Came via Hurricane Lamp Cracks and thoroughly enjoyed the climb as you do with all climbs here at Araps. Thanks for the cache.
Its that time of year again to make the yearly pilgrimage to Arapiles. With such an awesome place for a cache , it was begging to done .
The plan was to ascend the lamp lighter path .all was going well until I the got to the slightly hard part on this journey . After a lot of head scatching and grunting , we finally made it the to the resting of the cache.
Its has been a while since I did lamp lighter , didn’t seem to be that hard last time I did it .well as it turns out we ended up taking the path of The Second Coming.
All in all a breath taking cache , Followed by a stunning sun set .fantastic to see a cache placed in such a unique spot .
This would have to be one of my favorite caches . got any more like this.
cheers

Well I have not had any luck finding a cache to date. So stumbling, or should I say climbing, across By The Light Of The Brown Undies was the icing on the cake of a most enjoyable climb. We took the Spiral Staircase route and while looking for anchor points to belay my seconder I uncovered my first cache. Great location with an awe inspiring view.
Only dissapointment was not having anything to leave behind except a few words in the note book.
PS If concerned about accessability hang around the bottom and I am sure if you explain your plight to to any climbers they would be more than happy to assist you up the Stairs.
Most Enjoyable Thanks

Whilst I thoroughly enjoyed the climb to get this cache (at the end of a 9 day climbing visit to Mt Arapiles) I have to say I am a little dismayed at the placing of this particular cache.
The fact that it requires a minimum of a grade 8, 5 pitch free climb (spiral staircase), followed by a 50m hanging abseil, puts it out of reach for probably 95% of geocachers. I thought the idea was that caches were put in places which are accessible by everyone.....

Best cache location I've come across so far! A hot day had everyone climbing in the shade on the back of the Pharos. I had to queue to jump on lamplighter, but by the time I got to the top there was no-one to be seen! TNLN. TFTC.
After a week of mastering classic routes we finally went up Spiraling Staircase to nab this most spectacularly placed cache. No swaps taken but we left a French Bungy jumping badge as we thought that was a pretty good place for it. Maybe we'll be back to tackle something a bit more challenging soon. We Love those climbing caches - made all the more special as no abseil cheating possible to nab this one! TFTC
checked out to see if there were any geocaches before going on this trip, and what do you know. there was one at mt arapiles. just a great spot, and climb of course . the cache was in hand, under an hour with the verticle walk

Busy day on the Pharos. Led the shroud on a beautiful day. Put in a pen and pencil, with some new ziplock bags. Took figure8 travelbug to get him moving. Left VT Duck.
Well, the cache appeared just after I'd been here for the weekend - curses. So an ascent of the crag in question was first on the list for the next time I was here.
I ended up coming up for a mid-week jaunt to climb with a visiting Seppo friend, so the morning after I arrived, following a pleasant sleep in, I wandered up to find the cache. Nice weather for it, found the cache easily. Grabbed the Brown Trousers TB, and dropped off Figure8 TB (I figured it was a suitable location for it). Then I managed to leave my camera on the summit and we had to climb up in the rain to get it the next day, but that's a whole other story.

The beginning of Ken's Brown Shorts (TB) on their excellent adventure. If only he'd worn the brown undies.....
