Logs

14-Oct-24
Couldn't find it in the end. Used the clue but it wasn't where I thought it meant. Better luck next time

04-Aug-24
TFTC - In the area with HeliKelli and located the cache.

04-Aug-24
A sunny winters day meant that this area was busy, there were kids kicking footballs and the tennis courts were full. The many dog walkers in the area made for a sly grab of the cache and we moved ourselves to a nearby location to sign the log.

07-Jul-24
Thank you for the cache Sunday afternoon, had to be careful of muggles

23-Nov-23
Found when running in the areaCheck!

13-Sep-23
Acquired the data required on visit number one.
Once the data was processed a return visit was in order.
Reading previous logs I was expecting a few scratches and doing some gardening but it was not to be.
Cache was found quickly and easily with a minimum of fuss.

Found at 15:44
I'm trying to keep a streak going so dropped in here on my way give from work for a daily find. I headed straight to the second waypoint to collect the required info and after having an educated guess for B, headed across to gz where I quickly found the well hidden container.
Thanks bobthebuilder_123 for the cache

09-Aug-23
Out and about with some time to kill, this was a quick spin around the upgraded facilities

06-Aug-23
Couldn’t figure out the coordinates based on the instructions given, but based on the hint we managed to find the cache by walking around the park. Great success

30-Apr-23
Like many others before me, I could not seem to find the required plaque. Instead of improvising the numbers, I took it upon myself to attempt to find the cache without coordinates at all. It isn't the first time I've done this and won't be the last. It's an added challenge and something I sometimes apply to the game for myself to make things trickier.

I applied the hint and took bits of details from the logs and tried to narrow it down in the park, although having said that the final location may not be in the same park. A lot of muggles around on a sunny Sunday morning. I saw an area that looked promising. Geo trails are often a telltale sign and a patch of what looked to be disturbed shrubs was a good indicator. The 'wall' provides a handy place to plonk ones backside on. Looking out for muggles, I stepped into the patch and luckily found the cache tucked away. Signed the log and returned.

A satisfying find and a great location too. Thanks bobthebuilder for the fun!

19-Apr-23
No plaque still but a nice easy multi, retrieval on cache not that bad clue is perfect TFTC

19-Mar-23
With 4 adults and 2 kids we made quick work of this one. The retrieval was the prickly bit. TFTC!

19-Mar-23
on a short afternoon walk with amandaberries, miss_piggy77 and emandel we set out to find this cache.

We fairly quickly solved the puzzle and laughed at the sneaky twist along the way to GZ.

the cache was well protected with many prickly sharp spikes.

Log signed and excitedly we set off to find another.

19-Mar-23
Found today with kristysadventures, miss_piggy77 and emandel while we were caching in the area. My advice is to wear gloves and long sleeves! TFTC!

19-Mar-23
Crikey, it's spiky -- but fun! Thank you for the hide! (Note: B has to be deduced without the plaque)

19-Feb-23
On the hunt for our multi month mission. Thanks for placing this one and it being part of our challenge!!

29-Dec-22
Pretty sure we got the first waypoints correct, but could not find the cache at the final coordinates. Spent a lot of time looking in the prickly plants

15-Dec-22
Well, I definitely should have brought my gardening gloves, as I'd have saved my hands the prickles.

However, it was a good fun cache and brought me to a park I never knew existed.

16-Oct-22
No sign of the first plaque yet. Road/Wall - what's the difference?

15-Oct-22
What a great park this is, with so many facilities. We initially visited for an important facility that I was in urgent need of. Once here and I was able to concentrate on the task and also able to walk around the park. The plaque at Waypoint 1 is still missing, but we nutted out the final coordinates. We set out on a pleasant stroll to the other side of the park in the sun, such a rare occurrence in recent weeks, on soft, but not soggy playing surface, despite the recent rain causing so much flooding across the state. After a quick reference to the hint the cache was found in a dry, good condition.
Thanks for providing this cache to entice us to do our daily stroll in such a pleasant location.

13-Sep-22
Muggles everywhere today so had to pick my timing very carefully. A quick look here and there, before reading the hint.
Then expanded the search area to suit. No luck.
A PAF to confirm my coords were correct. They were.
Another look at a spot matching the hint, and there it was.

Thanks for bringing me here today by placing this cache, bobthebuilder_123

11-Jun-22
One trip around the park a few weeks ago gave me cords, but the place was crawling with muggles large, small and furry.
Much colder today which allowed for an easy grab and sign.
Thanks

25-May-22
Needed a cache today and a multi, so off for this I came. Clues found okay and GZ seemed good. Short walk later and it was found with many prickly plants guarding it. Ouch

Thanks to bobthebuilder_123 for the fun and the adventure.

20-Mar-22
Very cool cache thanks bobthebuilder_123 we've never been here before so was great to see another area and see all that goes on here...picnics run training dog walking and whiney teenagers with their families too easy find thanks to a great clue!

08-Mar-22
A tricky little multi that had PrezDough and I somewhat challenged. Whilst we quickly found the various bits of info, we also stalled at one number which made us do some thinking, however a little bit of deduction soon had us back on track.
Then it was a case of a quick walk to GZ and we hoped we were onto something.
Sure enough, the hint soon made sense and then it was a dig around trying to avoid the pine leaf pricking us.
Soon enough the cache revealed itself and we quickly added our monikers in between Muggle walkers, dogs, prams and their owners.
A quick scan to ensure we had a Muggle-free window and the cache was back in place.
The cache, container and log are in excellent condition.
The ziplock bag is wearing out, but the container was well and truly dry.
I visited 5 TB.
TFTC.

27-Dec-21
Excellent cache, learnt a lot about the region - spent some time looking in the wrong location, but managed to find it, I will retain these memories for years to come.

27-Dec-21
Came out with a group today, the clues were very interesting and fun. Sad about the plaque being removed but thankful for the information being supplied in the description. TFTC! Smile

24-Oct-21
We just found our second case. Hooray!
However, We needed the hint to do so.
The plaque has not been replaced on the first waypoint. So it is necessary to leave your clue in place.
Thank you bobthebuilder_123 for a fun cache perfect for a family.

04-Sep-21
Nice afternoon to get out for some exercise and a walk around this park. Waited until the muggles cleared at GZ and had a quick find. TFTC

20-Aug-21
So many muggles! I could feel the cache but had to stand around acting innocent for about five or ten minutes until I could get it out, and even then a passing muggle made some remark about me loitering. P.S. The bag containing the logbook needs replacing.

26-Jun-21
Back again in Toorak to try and pickup a few caches that we ran out of time to look for last week. After collecting the required information, we set off to GZ and realised this was going to be a little tougher than we first thought. So many muggles approaching us from every direction made it a slow process, then after receiving numerous scratches from the prickly plants, we had the cache in hand.

Replacing the cache probably took longer, but it’s now back in its hiding place, signed and ready for the next cacher.

Thank you bobthebuilder_123.

21-Jun-21
Another sunny day so I’m out to get some exercise and to tick off some LGA requirements.

I gathered the answers quickly and then set off to make the find. Searching for a little while I then checked the hint and realised the search area needed widening. A muggle asked if I was looking for a set of keys .

When the coast was clear I made the find and signed the log.

Thanks bobthebuilder_123 for the cache.

03-Mar-21
Another quick walk to get the cords and a quick find with the help of the clue! TFTC

09-Jan-21
TFTC zip lock bag needs replacing

02-Mar-20
Having a quick search before we headed off to the next one on our list, we noticed this older multi nearby and thought we would give it a go. We gathered the information for the final and we made our way to GZ. The temps were far chillier than yesterday and we were all feeling it. Once at GZ Eskies5 and Scratches and the hide sorted in no time and our names were in the log. TFTC and being a part of our Melbourne adventure bobthebuiler_123

02-Mar-20
This older multi caught our eye and so we headed over. The weather had done a 180 from yesterday and I was shivering with long pants and a jacket. A brisk walk (to warm up) after crunching the numbers and we found ourselves a cache. Thanks again, bobthebuilder_123.

02-Mar-20
Last day in Melbourne for Kestal and Eskies5, we braved the cold and wind to find some more caches on the list. Information obtained and calculating done we trudged through the wet to GZ to make the find. There were some very dedicated tennis players and dog walkers in the area!

TFTC Smile

15-Feb-20
Today I had dodgeball training in Windsor, and so I decided to make the best of the most tedious of tasks, crossing the Yarra. I decided to go up to Toorak area, as there were some caches that filled in my Jasmer grid (including this one), and I wanted to check out the infamous "Hanging Around In Toorak". The weather was incredibly dreary, I had the raincoat on for the whole time. The numbers came together quickly, although I had to do a recalculation once I had everything. A nice easy find once I got to GZ, all in good condition.

Pictured is a very rare site from GZ, cricketers playing in drizzle! I was shocked to see them out and about, they must need to finish up the season to let the footy players at the grounds. Insanity, I can't believe the groundkeeper let it happen.

Thanks bobthebuilder_123

14-Feb-20
Good hint, tftc!

13-Jan-20
Great Cache, a little lucky with a handful of muggles around. Took us a little bit to get the right final location as we had some issues with couple of our answers but quickly found the error in our ways o find something more suitable.

08-Jan-20
Today saw me in the neighbourhood with a wp for another multi, so thought i'd wander up to have a hunt at gz..
I started this multi the other day while wandering aimlessly, and with some hiccups, went to investigate.
Asking the co for a hint, quickly made me realise the error of my ways, so all was left was to hunt the final..
Of course gz was muggled out, so i walked up the road to hang around and when i came back the area was empty, so i could search unhindered.
I needn't have worried for the good sized cache was discovered not long later.
Took the alien trackable to fly away awhile.
I love reading the found it logs on cache's this old.
Thank you for creating and keeping this old cache alive!

26-Dec-19
You have to widen your search a bit bit the hint is good. A lovely early morning walk around an unfamiliar part of Melbourne. Down from Queensland busing my parents.

I AM GUR

29-Nov-19
No luck here
Hunter

24-Aug-19
You can't find them all! I went in for the find but came up empty handed today. Will return Smile

16-Aug-19
Found on a blustery winter's day. Dog walkers with their own layers of fur against the cold were the only muggles around. TFT hunt.

20-Jul-19
*20 Jul 2019, Found @ 1:21 pm, Find # 9501.*

Today I have returned to see if I could change the sad face in to a smiley.
I headed straight over to where I was last time and this time I used a glove and fond the cache in about 10 seconds, obviously I didn’t look properly as well as I think I looked all around it.
The main thing is I can finally cross this one off the list.

**Thanks to bobthebuilder_123 for placing this cache.**

3 June 2019:
Streak Day #95/366
(1 March 2019 - 29 February 2020). Arrived here very early just before sunrise to gathered information. Took me a while to find the cache. Thanks for the fun.

13-May-19
I was killing time in a nearby waiting room when saw this listing. I cobbled together the second waypoint with the gifted digits and, inspired by something on the page, starting imagining complications that had no basis in reality. This was, in fact, a fairly straightforward affair. The second plaque gave up its secrets and an eminently plausible GZ emerged. I signed a quite aged logbook a short time later. I'm always a little impressed when sizeable caches endure for a decade or so in such busy urban locales. Thanks again bobthebuilder_123!

08-May-19
I had a great time finding your cache bobthebuilder_123, thank you so much for placing it.

08-May-19
After a short walk, Crank1 and I gathered the required information to find the cache. A nice walk in a day that has been... a lot of walking! Multi’s around here are complicated! Thanks so much for placing this cache bobthebuilder_123

01-May-19
Was in the area for a second time as I’d found a card here previously for day1976’s “Memory” Wherigo. Last time I failed to convert, but today the sweet match was made.

Feeling positive, I continued on to this bobthebuilder_123 multi. I’d hung around in Burnley and Toorak, so was anticipating some fun.

A bonus to be given WP1, and I enjoyed the cheeky numbers at WP2.

I soon found myself at GZ, and the hint gave my confidence I was in the right spot. I poked timidly and got prickled in response. Looked a bit elsewhere, and finally bit the bullet and groped blindly. Bingo!

Double bingo! The logbook contained a massive currency note. After signing I began to do the currency conversion, all the while turning over which new car would suit me best. The numbers came through and I realised I had just enough to borrow a supermarket trolley!

Left the SMALL fortune for a set of wheels for the next finder Smile

*13/1/19* *Not Found @ 1:14 pm*

Had a bit of a look around for this one today but I was just not able to find it even after a PAF confirmed I was in the right area and it was only found a week ago, maybe I just didn’t look hard enough.
I will need to keep my eye on this one

**Thanks to bobthebuilder_123 for placing this cache anyway.**

My first multi! Thanks bob! Love your work.

26-Jul-18
26 July 2018 @ 3pm
Caching buddies:

While I'm the area for meetings with contractors and clients, this was a nearby easyish multi, or so I thought! Had to resolve to PAF and gloves at gz, luckily, PAF confirmed that I was in the right area and while on the phone, spotted the cache crouching!
Felt a little exposed looking for it though!

fantastic cache!

14-Apr-18
So what was the goal for today it is simple to go out out caching with N0w0rries and to grab some interesting multis, a new d/t for me and a couple missing months on my ausmer grid. Now off to the next multi, this cache was rather quickly done with the most controversial thing being i my have gotten a parking ticket when collecting clues. Bugger. Either way thanks for the cache and the interesting stroll in the rain

14-Apr-18
Multi-caching through the area with buhfuhguh on the fifth anniversary of my first find.
After collecting some information for another cache we parked nearby.
I had already gathered everything we needed to know here (it seems Red Face )
Confirming the calculated GZ, we headed off and soon found ourselves at the likely location.
A short walk back to the geovehicle to grab my caching gloves and then the search began.
The cache was found in no time at all and is in good order. Smile
Thank you bobthebuilder_123.
Now it's time to hang around nearby.
I have been there a number of times but bfg has not cached this area before.

10-Mar-18
In Mexico City for a few days this week so had some time to pick up some caches. This one was found on a lovely sunny Saturday morning while there were a bunch of muggles watching some batball game nearby.

Thanks for the cache bobthebuilder_123. Found on 10 Mar 2018 at 10:06 am. Find #5905.

28-Feb-18
Was checking through our stats and noticed we had 18 multi's for the month, they were a focus for a challenge cache, but then realise with only another 10 we could also complete the multi month challenge, so the aim was 10 more for Feb, due to a variety of reasons those 10 had to be packed into the last day of the month, so off I went. this was a quick find at gz TFTC

02-Jan-18
Despite not knowing B, this was not difficult to find using the clue. The cache is in good order.

29-Jul-17
We had big plans. It was going to be sunny and surprisingly warm for July, but then a weather warning for Cat. 1 winds had Parks Vic closing down a bunch of parks and we decided to play it safe and go with a local(ish) cache.
Geobub and I headed out. Step 1, getting out of the car. On reflection geobub hasn't been out in this kind of weather before and she was terrified of the big winds and everything moving. Not wanting to raise a "fair weather cacher" I pushed on with a constant whinging by my side. Fortunately the wind was strong enough to drown most of the whinging out. The clues were found fairly easily - although I didn't want to believe the answers. Nevertheless it was there.
Now for my apology: I'm very sorry, but geobub did not obey cache etiquette - when we got back to the car I noticed a rusty penny that had been in the cache was now in her hand. Given her general level of unhappiness I was reluctant to a) manhandle it from her and b) get her back out of the car into the wind to return it. Turns out not only do I have a fair weather cacher, but I also have a cache thief. When I am next in the area I will pop in something special.

16-Apr-17
Fun little wander in the park! Definitely a bit of confusion relating to not being able to find B, but got there in the end with the help of the hint! TFTC

20-Feb-17
A massive detour on the way to Toorak. This was the second cache after a DNF at the nearby church. At the WP2, we were able to get all of the information quite easily given time of the day, with all the kids doing after school sport. We just looked like parents picking the kids up, just waiting. Then it came to B...we didn't have B...ah..quite easy to deduce. Now with GZ worked out it didn't take long before had it. Thanks for the cache and in interesting wander around Orrong park in Toorak.

Today (Cup Day) is GMelb's birthday but is also the date of MMelb's first Uni exam for the end of the year... on Cup Day, at Caulfield Racecourse at 9.30am .....
Oh well the only thing to do is we will drive MMelb to his exam & go caching until it is time to pick him up again! We tried to access the cache in the Lake Reserve via the tunnel under the racecourse but the gate was locked so we headed back to the car and headed off to find other caches in the area
GMelb has decided that November will be multi month so he was keen to get at least one today. He had already solved half of this multi and so we headed to the next WP and found the rest of the info needed. Then off to GZ checking out lots of dogs on the way We are getting a puppy soon so we were interested to see how different bredds of dogs interact with each other Smile
Cache was a nice easy find and we took the TB

This was a fun multi. I solved it weeks ago during my lunch break but couldn't make it to GZ in time. Today the park was busy on this beautiful day, but nobody around GZ, quick find, thanks

20-Aug-16
This was my selected cache for International Geocaching Day and I headed off on a cool blustery afternoon with springtail. Second attempt at this one since the first time I attempted it, the plaque at WP1 had just disappeared. It's still not back, and looks like there are no plans to replace it. Still, the necessary numbers were found, although it is not completely straightforward. Nice to find that the cache location was near where we had parked the car and we had walked straight past it on our way to the first waypoint! There was a duck trackable in there, which I didn't take because I have no plans to head to an event today. Poor little duckie. TFTC!

Found by The Empire
An easy multi to get the souvenir needed for today. This cache was near a shop I was checking out, then I headed over the road to watch some local footy. Dropped off a Deadly Duck! With people finding heaps of multis this weekend - this easy one should be found a few times and the duck should on the move again shortly. Thanks for the cache bobthebuilder.

Amazing find .. Think logically about B..... TFTC!!!

19-Jun-16
After working out B by a process of elimination, and taking the time to read the hint the cache was found fairly quickly.

Had a bit of a laugh when coming up empty handed and looking in all directions and then thought to read the hint! so much easier to find once looking at the hint...! Thanks for the hide

18-Apr-16
Out and about this morning and finished up in the inner suburbs and now it's time for a couple of multi's.
Oh my god, I pulled up at the initial coordinates and it's Toorak Primary School sports day and there are kids everywhere and I thought that's it, no way today. But I thought I would grab whatever info I could and then wait for another day. I got to the sitting on device and there were parents sitting there and I politely asked if there was a plaque on the seat I could see and they all kindly stood up and helped me look but no luck so I apologized and moved down the way a little and rechecked the the cache page. It was then that I read the comment about the plaque, damb! Sad Ah well, off I went to the next waypoint where I found the next puzzle but managed to gather the required info to get me to the GZ. After another short stroll I arrived at a little less busier GZ but still there was a little muggle activity including a teacher/parent manning this end of the cross country running course. Being a little discrete I was able to gather and return the prize unobserved, log signed, everybody's happy Big Grin

The hardest successful geocache we've made. Made sure you read all the clues in the description. Read ahead so you won't spend minutes on the first clue when there's help below Smile

24-Jan-16
Find #3 for my Multi-Month Challenge. Nicely conceived and executed. Guessing B isn't really difficult and I enjoyed the muggle provided seating at every stage. Makes it so much easier to calculate and sign the log.

16-Jan-16
What fun. Had to guess the B but we just went through 1-9 until it looked about right. Bingo!!!

16-Jan-16
A game of cricket was being set up on the oval as we approached on this sunny Melbourne day. A couple of numbers had to be guessed but we managed to work out the waypoint. The final GZ had us scratching our heads until we glanced at the hunt and then cache was in hand rather quickly. Found with Sandiidee, our geo-mother and my geo-niece. TFTC.

16-Jan-16
Found while caching with Tinkertraveller, my Geodaughter and Geomother today. We also had to guess what 'B' was and I think our co ords were a bit off at GZ as we had to resort to the hint to find it. TFTC

10-Jan-16
Found with itsahoughthing. Not too many problems with this multi except we had to guess what B was from the removed plaque. Thanks for the cache.

03-Nov-15
Stymied at first waypoint. Was this where the plaque was supposed to be?

03-Nov-15
Pretty sure the initial information is no longer available - see photo attached to my 'not found' log

02-Nov-15
Given that I can't really fix the plaque I have updated the listing with the missing information until the plaque is restored

Fun little multi on a pleasant evening stroll around the neighbourhood. Dodging evening runners with head-lamps and party goers rather than the usual daytime sporty folk. I managed not to trip over anything in the dark! Possibly messed up one of my numbers so needed the hint at GZ otherwise I would have looked very suspicious with my torchlight searching. TNLN thanks bobthebuilder_123
