Logs
Could do with a new pen or pencil couldnt write in log book, also very visible alongside track edge!
This cache began a lovely river walk that thankfully mostly sheltered us from an icy polar wind today. No muggles or drama with this find. Tftc
Repeat visit to fulfil our end of the trade. Left something for mosaic makers, something to make another cache with, and a little friend who has been hanging out with us on our travels. Thank you!
Cool spot! We have taken a lovely plaited key ring, but have plans to return something cool tomorrow thank you!
Fantastic day out with hubby and dad, we hit the track around 8am and came off around 5 hours later having a nice haul of finds with no dnfs, thanks for the placement we loved the walk/labs and trads.
A nice quick find after using the hint. Left Army TB as that seems appropriate! TFTC
Cache appears to have been removed, a replacement will be in place within the next 10 days.Cheers herea10
First cache on our walk. Checked round upright and adjacent flattened wooden posts but had no joy. Lovely location though
Our first geocache.. couldn't find but thanks to other hints found fence post.. we think it has been removed?
Couldnt find Found spot here it should have been with branches but nothing underneath

Had a quick look for this but as it was raining I soon gave up.Maybe next time.
Decided to carry on with the river trail before we head to Ohakune. A quick find. TFTC
Another cool suspension bridge. A few fishermen about. Compass was pointing to the other side, but followed hint for a fast find. Thanks herea10
Bush Canopy throws GPS off, hint too obvious, so keep looking at all landmarks first
So, I last logged this cache in July 2006 as a 'Did Not Find'. Now almost 17 years later, I can log it as find.
Can't remember what went wrong last time, but thanks for the cache.

Beautiful day today collecting caches along the Tongariro river. It’s so much fun, but has been ages since I last rode a bike, so I am sure I will be very sore. Looking at the smileys on the map though makes it all feel worth it. Thanks for the cache!
I really enjoyed walking across the bridge and exploring this area. With a broken foot I wasn't able to cycle along the tracks on either side of the river, but perhaps I'll be back oneday to give it a try. It's really beautiful here.
The hint was helpful to point me in the right direction. Then it was easy to spot the camouflage, and before long I had signed the log and put everything back as found. I picked up one or two waypoints for the Adventure Lab, but really wasn't in the mood to walk back and forth across the bridge six times today to complete an AL.
Last cache find for the day, too.

Found it about 50M down the track! Discarded by someone. Put it back in hiding spot
A plan was made with Gorby and tramyard to travel down from Auckland to Turangi for a celebration event at Stump Bay on the 27th before heading up to camp at Huntly and attending the celebration event on the 28th. In total, we traveled 740km over the two days.
We had arrived in Turangi early and had some time to spare before the event, so we came over the river here to complete the ad lab and I realised that there was also a cache by one of the waypoints. That was a nice bonus. Quick easy find.

First find of the day log book a bit grimy and container dirty but that’s almost inevitable
Over from Australia for a couple weeks and picking up some NZ caches, lots of new opportunities

6:10:00 PM. The rain has eased so I made the walk across the bridge. Love these bridges over here. Cache found and log signed. Used to fish this river back in the 60's. Thanks herea10 for the cache.
I really must learn to check out the geo caches when I'm ad labbing. I was right by this spot yesterday. TFTC
#1984 closing in on 2000 finds and a good day along the river trail grabbing a few caches. Thanks
Easy find with Cympull. Came across these fencing posts a couple of months ago doing Adventure Lab. TFC
Thanks for your amazing cache. I really appreciate the time you took to set up and maintain your caches.
I really like the silica pad in the plastic bag to keep the log dry and easy to use
Found with Fisha1288
Cheers, Cympull.

#1911. Day 1 in Turangi for a well deserved post-Covid break from Wellington. Last time we stayed here, 6 years ago, I was a brand new geocacher. Seems like yesterday!
This morning, after a coffee in town, a wander around the market, and collecting 2 WPs of the In & Around Turangi AdLad, then lunch back at Kaimanawa Lodge, it was time to go for a wander along the Tongariro River for this cache and the Major Jones AdLab.
This was easy - good hint and spotted the hide in no time.

In Turangi area for two nights, quick find while doing the adventure lab. Thanks herea10 for the cache.
Out with family and friends doing an adventure cache we spotted this one too. Nice little hide. Thanks
After completing the adventure lab cache we headed back for the car before one realised there was a cache in the same are. Back we went to collect.
Out with family and friends we were doing an adventure cache and saw this on on our travels. Thanks for the cache
Came down to turangi today with friends and decided to do one of the alcs here. Picked up this cache when we realised that it was here. TFTC
Spending a week in Taupo, so a good excuse to pick a few caches along the way.

Found by Blenheim Bear while doing to AL nearby, no pen but scratched BB on the log. Thanks for the cache all good today. Blenheim Bear
Actually found this one a little while back, but never to mind, logging it now. I'll have to venture further along the track and find the other caches some time. TFTC!!!
We have found the geocache and have left a orange, not used lipstick. This is pretty easy to find, where worms and beetles like to hide.
Stopped off here to do the Lab cache and this is just over there so just had to come and visit Major Jones Booty. Replaced wet logs with a temp RITR log to help it along. Cheers.
Day 1 - Tursday 20 January - Palmerston North to Taupo.
Zara, Toby and I are on our North Island expidition for a couple of weeks. Got The Seagnoid along for the first 4 days, heading to the Auckland Mega. PWGTs and TMGTs are on the radar for this trip. Lots of driving on gravel roads and visited lots of amazing places on our 6000km road trip snagging 200+ caches along the way. Visiting Cape Reinga, Bay of Islands, Gisborne and White Rock along the way. Another awesome trip.

Taking a breather in Turangi and decided to have a little walk. Quick find in good condition due to an obvious Shawshank. TFTC.
I'm on a trip with my Mum and two youngest children. We're doing a quick tour of the North Island. We walked around the rim of the Waihi gold mine and stayed in Tauranga the first night. Stayed at Lottin Point then we headed to Gisborne before driving down to Napier. Turangi was our destination today before heading to our old stomping ground Palmerston North. We're then off to Whanganui, New Plymouth, then Taumaranui via the Forgotten Highway. A quick dash down to the Raurumu spiral before going up to Waitomo Caves. Back to Auckland for a few days with family, the long awaited 2020/2022 Mega then home to Whangarei.
I was hoping to get enough of the first TMGT caches to complete the Tauranga, Gisborne and Taranaki areas. In the end I failed on all counts. A great disappointment to get all the way out to the East Cape lighthouse to find the track closed the other day too.
This cache took us a while because I'd decided to do the Adlab here. The Adlab took us back and forth over the bridge 6 times. It was on the 5th time that we got this cache. It is a great bridge and my confidence about crossing it increased over time. A quick find. Thanks for your hide along this nice river track

First one of 10 (traditional) caches found whilst biking the river loop in an endeavour to complete the “Fishing the Tongariro” Ad Lab quest. A reasonably quick find. We added a new log paper to this one but didn’t have a ziplock bag with us. #4439. TFTC.
Staying in Tūrangi for the night before setting off to walk the Tongariro Northern Circuit. Having checked in to my accommodation there was plenty of time for a loop around the river walk and to pick off some caches on the way.
The hint got me looking in the correct place and I spotted the cache on approach. All a bit too damp to sign and no spare logs with me. Sorry.
Thanks herea10

Staying in Turangi for the night on our way south. Headed off early on the bike to explore the riverside trails. Great to be on two wheels in such stunning surroundings and finding caches as a bonus. Cache and log all fine. Managed to combine these finds with several adventure lab waypoints. Lots of overlapping which was helpful. Thanks for the smiley.
Part of our trip along the river trail on our ebikes. Yet again a good clue, which we were reading due to the need for haste. TFTC.
