After waiting for the morning drizzle to pass I headed out for a walk along Chinamens Hut Track. I met some people spotting Orchids and was given a bit of an education on the varieties found in the area. A bit of exercise and a handful of caches made for an enjoyable day. Thank you Alice the Amphibian, for placing way up the eagle for the geocaching community.# # #15267 # #
I was walking along, just mining my own business, when I saw a woman walking the other way. She didnt really look like she was dressed for hiking, so I asked if she needed any help. And she said that she was geocaching. And thats how I met Traeger Meister. And since I had already found the geocache that she was searching, for, I offered to join in and help as needed. We had a good time chatting, and I also got to meet Chrisso.I love meeting geocachers out on the trail!
Awarding another favourite point for the adventure and views Log stamped and cache in very good orderTFTC
Great spot. Hiked around for ages and figured we are not just going to be dropping by here to have another look. Finally it just appeared.
When I was visiting my mother and sister a year and a half ago, I climbed from Waterfall Gully to Mount Lofty. Today Im doing the same and adding the reverse journey. I know. Im an idiot.Anyway, this particular geocache gave me my first view, on this trip, of an actual live kangaroo. The photo is not great, sorry.I found the container and added my signature. TFTC.
I logged a DNF in November 2017 and its taken a long time to get back to these woods.
I'm happy to clear this green trad one off my Clelend map.
The new GZ made for a much easier find today.

Spent this glorious Sunday morning with naughtybunny doing a few caches in this part of Cleland. It was actually a very successful day! This was the first for me and we found GZ quite quickly as it was in the obvious spot. The views were amazing! TNLN. Cheers.
Great views from this spot, took a few photos of the scenery while the Black Cockatoos flew around overhead. I hadn't walked in this part of the park before so thanks for bringing me here.

My usual Saturday morning visitor was late, and it's not a problem, I certainly had stuff to be getting on with. I became free mid-afternoon and I assessed my plans of all the new caches I had planned to place. I looked at the map and it was clearly not going to be achievable. On to plan B.
I have spent a good deal of time recently learning and up-skilling on puzzles. I am definitely still a learner, and difficulty 2 or less is where I am at. I have a few solves in the bank just waiting to be found, I really should pick a few and finish them off. This was a trad along the way, in my late afternoon jaunt through this valley to the top. I really don't know why KTPops and I did not do this one a couple of years back, strange.
I came roaring into the carpark and started the descent. Right, 46m that way, oooooh down there, I am going to need to take the long way. A few back and forths had me at GZ, with plenty to peruse. I decided which stump to be targeting but alas, it was bare. I spied a few alternatives, and decided the uphill option was probably the favored outcome but no dice. Back down to the sister stump and success was bountiful. I could hear frogs calling all the way up here.
Cache and book in good condition, safe and dry, however the hint is no longer relevant for the location I found it. Thanks Freddo for another challenge and great hide.

Tricky climb with the old man and the kids. But great spot to sit and soak it all in
This was the first cache of the evening, we had a DNF last year on this cache but after it being moved we made the quick find this evening
Tonight I headed out with Davidwazza for a short walk around cleland, the wind at a steady pace and the rain slowly coming in it made for a nice night out.
Thanks for the cache

This evening, I had planned on heading with [@gridge98](http://coord.info/PRGKDMY) to walk around Cleland Conservation Park collecting a few shared unfound caches of ours, starting from just above Eagle on the Hill. However, I managed to add some extra walking before meeting, which was spurred from his newly published Cleland multi-cache. Subsequently, it was an early dash out from work, and following that FTF, a few geocaches in that area, before hiking the ascent back up the Attunga Track. I then met up with another Geocacher to assist in repairing/reinstating one of his geocaches, but some in field repairs didn't go to plan, so a return is now required. Some pocket monsters were then collected, before [@gridge98](http://coord.info/PRGKDMY) and I then met up to walk around for a few hours before night fall came. It was good to tick off a few old caches, and a cache with some unfound love. A bit windy out and about, but thankfully the rain held off for us this evening.
[@gridge98](http://coord.info/PRGKDMY) and I had previously tried finding this one a year ago, but with limited time, we just ran out of time and searching spots. After talking to the CO later, we told him the side of the path we were looking, which was what the coordinates looked like on the map with reference to the trail. It turned out that the cache was on the easier less-steep side, and was just another [@Freddo](http://coord.info/PR8C14)-ism to make the coordinates "work." Tonight, it looks like the coordinates had been adjusted once again, but just to another spot altogether. We left the path and made our way up to GZ. This time, the cache was found after only a few minutes of looking. Thanks [@Freddo](http://coord.info/PR8C14); Nice to have found this 06/2006 oldie.

Bleeding by the time I got back down. Then realised that it was only 3 metres up the hill
Was searching to high up the hill and than spotted a likely hiding spot back down a bit. TFTC
After completing Dihydrogen Monoxide across the other side of the valley, I made my way to this cache, and like others the GPS signal seemed to be bouncing around considerably (by about 15 metres). After about 5 mins it settled and led me to a fairly obvious location (which I should have spied before), and the cache was found. Log signed. Thanks Freddo!
Today was a day all about quality over quantity. It was also a day for a huge walk at Mount Lofty and surrounds. It was a day when 10 caches were found including 2 fun letterboxes, a vacuum and a squirrel's sanctum. Several large caches for the tally and a cache for the puzzle fizzy grid SFE challenge. A multi was also thrown in for additional interest.
All in all it was a good day. An exhausting day. My body is weary, thank goodness there is another day off mid week, hmm I think I might go fishing, surely that will be more relaxing?
This was my second cache of the day. Thoroughly enjoyed the walk to find this one. TFTC Alice the Amphibian.

Was out running some errands at lunch time and decided that despite the 31 degree day it would be a nice day for a lunchtime wander in the hills. Parked nearby and started to wander. headed for this one first and despite some steep bits reached GZ restively quickly. GPS wanted me to wander round but caching instincts kicked in and spotted the hide and located the cache. Signed the log and replaced.

Found it! Our first ever SA cache, found on the 36th anniversary of the Ash Wednesday bushfires that did so much damage around here and around the Dandenong and Yarra ranges in Victoria where we are from.
Fairly warm today and we were certainly sweating by the time we hiked up here. Our 2 devices were telling us different things but as M is and old punk from the past we were able to figure the hint out pretty easily. We dropped a traveller that has been with us for a while and admired the view for a bit before heading back down to rest by one of the waterfalls.TFTC...

I walked up to Mount Lofty and back starting at Waterfall Gully today. Along the way I found several caches. Most of them were an easy find and with only a few muggels on the tracks it didn’t take long to sign the log books.

Thought we would try another direction today and headed for Cleland Conservation Park. Not too many vehicles in the carpark but we stilled met quite a few walkers along the track. With the temperature rising and having to use a temporary steep up/steep down track, it was a hot walk. Upon arriving near GZ the cache was found reasonably quickly. Log signed and we were off again. tftc
Gridge98 and I looked off the path, and as I progressed around the hill, I put all my weight on a branch hanging from the side of the cliff. Crack. Down I went 5 m down the steep hill, landing on my bum. Continued to look around the area.Found a few small overhangs, nooks and crannies that would make an ideal cache placement, but unfortunately we left this cache unfound.
Found on a nice trek up Lofty! Was very cloudy but got as close to GZ as i could and looked for the 'typical hiding spots' think I am the first find with the new replacement log. Everything is in great condition thanks CO

Unfortunately DNF. My phone GSP refused to indicate GZ. Accuracy 50m is not fun. Have to come back next time with a professional handhold GPS.
Looks like there are two caches floating around here.
Owner may want to find and remove the throwdown cache as the original is still there.

Another quick detour for us from the main track down from Mount Lofty with Roffer today.
It looks like we found the old cache, not ttrogg's throwdown cache, as the logbook had logs going back to 2014.
Grabbed the trackable to move on.
Not far to the bottom of the hill now...

Im sure the replacement by Freddo is there, this is just a difficult one. Very steep and slippery hill. Defeated.
Oh well, at least I took another good photo.
Interesting form by ttrog. 'I cant find it, so I will just replace it and log a find.' Hmmm.

Hi
I'm sorry, but your recent move has brought your cache too close to the Traditional Cache of "She Turned me into a newt" http://coord.info/GCWRY7 and will need to be moved. Please read the following item on cache saturation http://www.geocaching.com/about/guidelines.aspx#cachesaturation
I've disabled this listing for the time being, could you please move it to a new location that fits within the saturation guidelines. Once that is done you may enable the cache.

No find for me today. Setiously steep and slippery hill face made challenging hunting.
Couldnt see it in the obvious spots. Expanded the area a little given the jumpy gps but still no joy.

Not found after parking on Mount Barker road and having a stroll around Cleland Conservation Park. Surprised at how many muggles were doing the same thing on a weekday.
Spent quite a while looking but no cache, or eagles, were seen before I needed to move on or risk being out after dark with no torch.
Thanks for the hunt Freddo

Still no luck with this one . It must be a piece of hollowed out tree bark with a cache snugly inside near or on a tree. (Picture reading this lol, Additional Hints: "A piece of bark near a tree in a National park"... "Aaaw gee thanks for the... Spoiler" ). This is a very good hide in what should read as a higher star rating for ankle-turning terrain [B)]. A good hide Freddo, but alas... I will return

Over the past few weeks I have been caching after dropping off daughter at Flinders Uni. Kept seeing the same name in the logs. AnyMules. So gave him a call and we teamed up to do some caching together today. Had a great day, doing some 'out of the way' caches. Although I only got 10 smilies I left 5 fav points on the caches. That would have to be the highest ratio ever. [^]
Nearing the end of walk I spotted a cache on the GPZ only 100 metres away. Unfortunately it was also about 80 metres below us and the zig zag track to it looked at least 300 metres. What the heck. It's downhill. So down we went. GPS went a little crazy at GZ . One went up and the other went down. I found it. Gotta say it. Done easier 3 star walks. Maybe I am just getting old. No to go back up! Thanks Freddo.
