The track ins a bit of a bumpy one but worth the effort. Beautiful calm clear beach and tonight, a decent sunset. Cache was found easily.Staying 2 nights in the Lincoln National Park set us up well for a good day of caching and exploring the area. Some enquiries the day before had us driving into Port Lincoln to collect the key into the locked world heritage area of the park. It's great to have access to this, and was a great day with only a couple of others seen all day. The weather was perfect with blue skies and sunshine. The scenery stunning, great beaches, headlands and a turquoise water. Many of the caches unfound for long periods and due for a found. One had almost 3 years of unlove and many DNFs, a great find to confirm it was still there. Enjoyed watching whales splash gentle by the cliffs from above, with their loud airblows and another stunning sunset to end the day. Although we did cache on in the dark on the way back to camp well after it. For a detour to meet friends the evening before, a great choice to experience this area. Thanks for your cache.
Another long trip around AU over the top end with lots of detours. Now heading back east across the Nullarbor with a stop at Maralinga.TFTC. Was at Ceduna with Aquilus1 on the way to Coober Pedy when invited to dinner at Lincoln National Park at the bottom of Eyre Peninsula by a group of Canberra geocachers including Gliss & nibletricecakes.Camped a couple of nights and totally enjoyed caching through the most of the park including getting the Memory Cove key.Found a few unloved DNFs, lots of kangaroos, emus, whales, snakes wriggling out of caches and looking through caves.Well worth it.Excellent sunset views. Tough track to get here.
This is livin! On the hunting trail again with SeasonedBird. It’s a great day for caching. TFTC Mr Walker

Out on caching adventures on the Eyre Peninsula with Wollaston.
After our trek in 4x4 country through Memory Cove, we had a look and decided to make our way around the coast and convert some picturesque spots along this scenic route to smileys too. And this spot certainly was a highlight, the crystal clear water and beautiful white sandy beach ahhh , pass the cocktails
Thanks especially to the CO’s for taking time to set out and maintain these hides and for showing us your very special part of the world

Well it’s 2021 and I have finally said good bye to a not so great 2020 and it was great to finally be able to have a reasonable holiday as I have not had a decent break since 2019.
Made to South Australia and finally crossing the boarder and then being greeted by a couple of very friendly SA police offices for which i had the official paper work to allow me to enter.
After making my way west along the Eyre Hwy I went as far as Penong and the Eyre Hwy which I have not travelled along since the late 70’s when I was on a holiday with my folks and this was the last holiday before I started full time work as a sparkie and finding a few caches as I go.
Geocaching when towing a van is not always easy and I have to be a bit selective on which ones I decide to try and find for safe parking purposes especially along busy highways.
So after leaving Coffin Bay my next destination is Port Lincoln which is down the bottom of Eyre Peninsular off the Flinders Hwy.
I’m hoping for better weather soon I don’t mind it being cool just not rain showers when you are out and about.
So I set the van up at Surfleet Campground that is in Lincoln National Park yesterday and today is a new day so it was time to explore the North east area of the park and the weather is finally looking good.
So after an enjoyable day and beautiful weather it has changed overnight so very overcast and a howling wind.
Headed up to Donington Point along the dirt to eventually make the point.
A beautiful part of the word along here and the coastline and beaches are spectacular the water is so blue and the sand so white.
After rattling and rolling my way in to the first one in here I decided to leg it in to here to try and save the paint work on the Geocruiser it is definitely not Maclaren country.
It was a nice walk through the scrub except for all of the spider webs that I had to brush off the track.
An other beautiful spot to look out on but I didn’t bother with the beach as with the wind it was just not beach weather.
Walked along the track from the carpark to take in the view.
I soon located this one and added my name to the log and now the walk back to the Geocruiser and then get back out.
Thanks Mr Walker TFTC.

A couple of quick left turns from Rope & Float soon had us at the end of the carpark, then a short walk up to GZ in the rain . Cold and wet on 25th Jan - who would have thought [?].

Drove over and checked out the camping area afterwards and found it completely deserted - maybe we'll stay here next trip .

A rough drive out here but a great spot that's worth the drive! Finding the cache took a little longer than it should've for some reason but I got there in the end.

Day 3.
finally made it to Port Lincoln. Stopped in there for one cache then headed to the information center to book my national park pass and over night stay in this park. Spent all that day and some of the next getting all the caches in the national park before heading off to memory cove for the next day. It was windy but nice weather for my stay in the park. quick find at gz.
This was my over night camping point. Found the cache before putting the tent up but it was raining when the find was made. the track in was bumpy and this spot is also one of the female rangers fav spot in the whole national park.

Another day of Eyre caching with Purrfect Di, Sebastbat and Jack.
We went for a drive away from Pt Lincoln and found all sorts today. This was one...
We read the logs and it was clearly destroyed, but we wanted the "not McLaren" experience !
So we came prepared and drove in. Just a few bumps along the way in our car.... some may think otherwise [:o)]
Parked and walked, admiring the views, and came to the GZ quickly. Remains identified, a few shards of plastic now.
Replaced with nice new brown painted sistema, and new log. Should be an easy find, but remote enough not to get muggled!
Fav point scored for the experience getting there. All the best caches have an experience, this one would have challenged the Top Gear team or anyone in a McLaren LOL

Found what looked like the cache hide but moved the rocks to find a marble and a small edge of a plastic container. Possibly muggled or destroyed.
I think I found where it was meant to be, there was a marble and a bit of plastic that might have been a geocache, but nothing else.
I think it needs attention.

Thanks for being straight with me Mr Walker
And so to avoid more being shaken around inside the geomobile, I set off along the Investigator Walking Track from another nearby cache to reach this cache
The stroll along the beach was delightful on a sunny day.
But the seaweed towards the end of the beach got in the way [:o]
I detoured inland through the scrub and found the track again a few hundred metres from GZ.
Crossing the headland, I was greeted by the sight of another nice beach view
And a nice easy cache find with a good container to protect the logbook
TFTC and walk !!
I headed back to the geomobile via the 4WD track to escape the seaweed and to take a peek at the very nice campground behind the dunes

Took the logbooks and salvagable contents from the old cache and put them in the new one. The rest went into our rubbish bag.
A bit windy and cloudy now

Great spot and cache. Interesting and beautiful spot but rough access road Thanks for bringing me here
This is a truly magic spot. We replaced the container as the lid was broken and the container was full of water. The log was unusable so replaced it too. Tftc

We enjoyed the 4WD track in and what a great beach was waiting for us when we got there. It was too chilly today for a swim but we enjoyed the view. TFTC
Definitely not Maclaren Straight, but a Falcon wagon followed us down the track and made it to past the camping area. The cache is damp inside, but the log was still ok to sign. No swaps. Thanks to Mr Walker for the cache.
#2003 Found on Day 5 of our Eyre Escape with DazzPete. Took the little stroll in toward GZ and we were all wishing the gusting winds would abate.....not so. Still a great place in spite of the inclement weather, it didn't take Dad long to locate the cache. Thanks to Mr Walker for bringing us to such a great location
A short stroll from the car ark to GZ where the geoDad made the find. A nice spot but still very windy after last night.

This was our 3914th overall find.
Found at 11:39 AM. What a fantastic spot! The sand and water here is fantastic and I couldn't get enough photos. This spot really makes the trip worth it. The cache was a simple find but at a spot like this it can be after all this is all about the location. I'm so glad we made the trip in here.
Thanks Mr Walker for the thoroughly *Recommended* cache.

After the dissappointment of "Rope and Float" we were worried that we might not find this one either and that the arduous journey down the bumpy road may have been in vain. But this time we found it easily and were soon back on the bumpy road to take us out of the place.

Damn windy just like McClaren straight. A top spot for a coffee but you have to pay attention to vehicle placement. Park into the wind - then you can stand at the rear and not have your coffee cold before you can take the first slurp.
Clear skies and our thanx once again to Mr Walker.
Decide to go out with a few geocache teams on a nice sunday drive, the track to this cache has been improved (still a bit rough). Nice easy hide, container was cracked and contents and log book damp, we all did something to replace cache and log book. ( we replaced Log Book),

Cache # 7 of 12 in my Lincoln National Park day. It certainly ISN'T Maclaren Straight. Its neither straight nor fast. I could almost have walked faster. Once there, I checked the published GZ, but found nothing. I then used SA Parrothead's co-ords and found it straight away. I rescued TB Little Brother from the cache.
My thanks to Mr Walker for the cache, and to SA Parrothead for the updated co-ordinates.

Had a few coldies in the fridge but had to let them stand after the jorney here, even the kids said it was a bit bumpy this road. This took a little to find, luck we came across some friends fishing near by, we explained why we where there and they come along to find the 'treasures'.

Took the bumpy drive when I could have had an almost smooth boat trip to get this one today. After stopping to listen to Dr Karl on JJJ for a while I set of from my vehicle only to encounter a 90cm black snake heading my way, while my heart was palpitating and my brain was going hang on it's still winter the snake turned tail and slithered off .
