Rozuz and I discovered the remains of this muggled cache... have taken the remnants of the cache home to fix and will reset shortly. It is missing its lid and only had a pack of pencils remaining. All else was no where to be found, gone is the travel bug and the logbook.

Finally, finally, finally we can cross this one off the list!!!!! Every time we have looked over the past however long - it has been high tide - but today Hoorah the caching gods and the tide gods were on our side. What a great morning and walk it was. We counted 45 sailing boats out on the bay - did not try to count the motorised craft that were out there as well. Thanks for a lovely walk - it was a bit like a highway today with so many people enjoying the walk in the beautiful weather. Swapped a slinky for another toy - thanks for the cache.

My first official find! Found with Mickal555, although he actually spotted it not me Sad

It was a beautiful Sunday walk that we had been planning with the tides for a while, a great idea for a cache!

We took the shower timer and left some stickers. TFTC Happyharries.

Geokids went wondering for this one. First on their own. To no avail. Lots of prickles and lost the ink along the way. Just shows they definitely need the guidance of the Senior geos to assist. Will try another time with seniors when not so hot.

01-Jan-09
Found plenty of rubbish including broken bottles and dog poo in plastic bags but no cache. Nearly eaten alive by mozzies.

We all enjoyed the walk out and back so the afternoon wasn't a total loss.

30-Aug-08
Out with TeamSvn and a couple of their friends. A leisurely walk out with little risk of wet feet. I think this island may become part of the mainland one day. Found by our guest SpazzMuffin with direction from Z-coolio - while the boys stood in the middle of the prickles nearby! Thanks for the cache in a great spot happyharries - SVN07 (dropped off TB - a good place for a pirate, marooned on an island!)

Found ourselves down at Wellington Point today and the tide was right. I didnt have the co-ords for the cache, but I did have Bindy & Homer with me who had found it about 18 months earlier.....Unfortunately she had forgotten where it was, but I still managed to find it very quickly.

Now, I don't usually take long, windy walks with my nephew, but this was just such an occasion. I'd recommend taking your wife/girlfriend/husband/boyfriend on this one. Hey, why not take all four with you. Easy find in a place that epitomises the spirit of placing a cache. TN/LN/SL. TFTC.

In cahoots with the fourbees and under the pretences to geokids, we went to get some fish and chips. We managed to find this while we were in the area

We headed off on Saturday afternoon to seek some relief from the scorcher 39C. We didn't cehck the tides but when we got to Wellington Point, there was no water but plenty of wind. We ate dinner from the local cafe with thepiggies and then headed off in search of the cache at about 6:30pm. Fortunately we had the place to ourselves & located the cache quickly. All is well. TFTC

Been trying to get here for ages but the tides were never right when we could go. Found on Sunset - a bit wet and windy but atleast the mossies were kept at bay. Dropped off the generic geocoin which wants to travel the Islands. King Island counts as one of those. Thanks Happyharries!

Great walk, what a neat spot! We managed to hit the tides perfectly, that was just luck. We eventually found ourselves alone on the island and signed the log book. Very cool! TNLN, TFTH!

Found by Sunshine Toledo at 1:53pm. I have been here before but it must have been 20 years ago. The tide was with me so it was an easy stroll and had my lunch at GZ while filling in the log. Cache is safe and well. In: purple beads Out: hiliter TFTC

A nice walk out at the point. We spent ages looking in the little water pools. We even saw a hermit crab switch shells, although he decided he liked the 1st one best and back he went. Cache was easily located, just had to wait until the muggle children weren't watching. Took Geocoins, pacers and bendy pen. Left temporary tattoos, hair bands and mini notebook.
The interesting thing about this cache is the history behind the location. The Phillip family moved here in 1904 for 2 years based on medical advice. One of the children in the family suffered from polio and doctors recommended salt water bathing and sea air. Reading the accounts from the family of what it was like to live at GZ is interesting. Amazing how much it has changed in 100 years. Makes you wonder if it will be here in 100 years.
TFTC.

This afternoon the tide was out and the sun was shining so we decided to take mini mania out on a good cache before they went home. Found easily, took nothing, but left a geocoin.

Enjoyable walk in the cool of the late afternoon. Plenty to distract us on the walk. Cache found after a little search. The clue actually had us looking in the wrong spot initially. TNLN. Thanks happyharries

20-Oct-06
Definitely one of the funner Brisbane caches to find [^]
Do yourself a favour and take the Wellington Waders challenge Smile
It was fairly busy out this way today with many a pooch accompanied muggle out for a stoll. There was even a school group exploring the local environment. I guess the screams and tears were a result of too much curiosity about the stranded jellyfish [:o]
You live and learn Big Grin
Thanks for a really fun cache hunt.

I've been wanting to venture out to this cache since it was published but wanted to wait until i had some of the HawMorFord kids with me to enjoy the journey.

The walk over to the island was lovely with the kids doing the things that kids do in places like this.

As for me, i just enjoyed the stroll with the fresh sea breeze blowing.

I gave the kids the GPS and let them find the cache which they did without any trouble.

Unfortunately we left bag with the swaps and TBs in the car so we made no exchange.

Thanks for a very nice afternoon.

I've often thought about putting a cache over here as it is just a great spot.

Mr & Mrs Garner had no kids with us today so we enjoyed a relaxing walk out to the island. We'd checked the tide before we left home this morning & had been planning on heading here at this time of day.

I'd been looking forward to this walk all day & wasn't disappointed. I'd highly recommend this to all... a great experience.

The cache was found in what seems to be the obvious spot to hide a cache. We took out the One Foot Forward Travel Bug and swapped a compass thingy for a dinosaur.

We also took some great photos (attached).

Well this was a surprise FTF for THENANKS. Big Grin We didn't hurry after it at all! The tide was right, so the geoboys and Mumma NANKS decided to mosey over to the point. The bikes were still in the hi-lux from yesterday, so we rode over the sand. GOOD FUN!

Our eyes nearly dropped out of our heads when there was no entry in the log book! We even checked the back page (in case the Pirate had been here)Red Face

We made some swaps.

In : One foot forward TB, ear plugs and a compass/whistle combo
Out: a teddy TB, a punch balloon and a sharpener.

Thanks to the "Haps" for the cache and the adventure!
