Too much destruction and attention from local yoof to make this one work again. Sorry to see it go. Syrius.
I will re-assess the viability of this cache. It's been muggled too many times, the local yoof just can't seem to leave it alone. Thanks for previous cache log....
Came out with Charlie and Poppy looking for a playground...this wasn't quite what we expected - we still had a great time in the reserve and when we finally got around to looking for the cache, we didn't find the container but we did find the majority of its contents - the Syrius Black card and Geocaching details - a few bits and bobs scattered and the remants of the 'yoof of today' - empty beverage containers a plenty. Awesome tree house - I chose not to go up!
The GPS was a bit all over the place because of the trees so we just remudged around and eventually found it. The kids then checked out the cool tree hut and climbed to the second level. TFTC. #26
On a mission today: 1) to find my 600th cache, 2) to make a dent in the caches around the Waikareao Estuary Walkway, 3) to find as many caches around Otumoetai area.
Walked up to the big gum tree to find the cache. There has been some recent building activity here, and a nice little platform has gone up around the tree. The cache is quite well hidden. However, with so much going on around the tree, it will be a matter of time before this is discovered and muggled. What a pity. TFTC.

We were on a mission today and started close to home. Nice easy find, great hide. TN LN TFTC
Lovely little park..thanks for taking us here. We managed to find the right gum tree, even though we were muggled by a dog that came to check us out....quite appropriate we thought. TFTC
Area has been extensively trashed by locals. Cache exposed.
Replaced in deeper hole in same place. May be a short lived stay.

Lots of tui's around today. Nice and peaceful. Quick find. Was pretty exposed so I covered it a bit better. Tftc
It took a wee while to locate this cache in the darkness under the trees at dusk. While searching, Mrs W.E.K.A. discovered the wet tree roots are very slippery. TFTC

#346 Can see that Sammie would have a lovely time in this area, by gum. TNLN TFTC
Cache is still there Miles, it's quite big and exposed (but not visible unless you are in the right place). Found today with Mel74 and our dogs, who had fun in the "forest". As is often the case, we saw an easier way to the cache once we made it to GZ and the way out was less awkward than the way in / up. TFTC
Great tree and lovely reserve. Was a little worried with the evidence of activity at GZ but happy to say the cache was safe and soon in our hands TFTC.
Our 2nd Cache as a family with our new GPS unit.
Cool cache everyone really enoyed looking for this one (even after the itchy bites).
Harder than our first one but we got there in the end a very cool hide.

I can see why both dogs and kids enjoy this place as it has a wild feel about it.
Very slippery again on the way down here but we are getting used to these conditions now.
Thanks Sirius Black

Thanks Sirius Black
Like others we slipped an slid on the track, (that seemed to be our story with this trip)
Didn't spend any time playing, just trying to stay upright.
Thanks, Robmc.

Thanks, Robmc.
Went for a walk with our cute little grand-daughter, she liked climbing up the quite slippery path, maybe her parents will come here some day to let her play here as it is really a nice place for kids.
FOUND IT!! good hiding spot in a park we didn't know was there. loving the bellbirds that over looked our search.
Thanks Syrius Black for bringing us here! Am continually surprised by the number of hidden spots/parks there are in Tauranga!
Excellent cache, and remains well hidden. TFTC.

In Tauranga on a caching mission with Tufty. Took a bit of searching to fit the clue to gz- a few options. Cool, TFTC
Coldstream and I were on a cache raid to the Western Bay of Plenty. Found this cache very exposed so after signing the log we hid it a lot better.
Cheers for the cache.

Nice hilly reserve with some huges trees. Founch cache after a little looking. Put a hot wheels car in cache. Took nothing. TFTC
Quick find back on our way to Auckland. Good on ya, Sammy, for escaping into this cute park...!

Found as part of my three week caching trip from Wellington to Auckland - # 615. Thanks.
Didn't take the most direct route to the cache, but got there in the end for a quick easy find. Was clearly visible so tried to cover a little more when re-hiding. TFTC!
Sammie obviously knew where the good spots were.
A great wee hill walk. Cache found easily by following the well worn track, soft underfoot.
Many thanks

First one ever.....nice little park we didn't know existed and we only live around the corner lol
Thanks for recent logs. Did some maintenance. The vegetation is a lot more sparse since the cache was placed so dug it well in. Hope that this will help the re-hiding process. Always surprised that this one remains un muggled considering the number of children that play here.
No. 7 of 8 finds this morning caching in Tauranga. Cache was exposed so was an easy find, re-hid as best we could. NINO, TFTC
Found our first cache while wandering with OlivOil
the kids love it we will be out again tomorrow

Discovered it today - 3rd successful find with the kids on the first days activities.
A nice reserve and a nice start for the kids. First of many I'm thinking, good spot.
On a cache mission for the day with The Freezer Mice and managed to knock this one off. TFTC
The Freezer Mice strike again!!!
Out on a day of 'raiding' caches in Tauranga with Twigster.
One of the many spots that we stopped at.

TFTC - a nice walk, but we did manage to go on a bit of a round about route, we're still very new at this!
The clue was really helpful. It didn't stop me walking the long way around though. I live in Tauranga and enjoyed discovering a spot I had previously never heard of. Only came across a couple of young mugglers - they weren't a problem though.
Second day of our caching weekend with kiwifeet and kiwicouple and our thirty fifth find . A brisk walk to GZ and a quick find on a really cold afternoon. Thanks for sharing this spot with us T4TC.
Tearing around Tauranga today with Rosmar and Kiwifeet. Had to do this cache as we also used to have a little dog called Sammy. A quick find with the clue. Thanks.

On a geocaching day trip with Kiwicouple and Rosmar. This is an interesting park with it's steep path down, and clump of bush in the middle. Found the track up towards GZ, and quickly had the cache. Thanks
The foxies loved having a romp around Sammie's park. Picked up and dropped off a TB. TFTC
Found with Currinz kids too. Great tree to hide it by, a real treasure trove which was well and truly plundered.
Took rubber, army man, dinosaur, lizard
Left butterfly, spider, tree, green monster.

Cache 400. My son Sam would have liked this one if he hadn't been at school today. Cache a bit exposed so covered it. Magnificent eucalypt.

Just checking due to previous logs. Still in place and nicely hidden. Thanks. The area was a lot less used when cache was placed and now the undergrowth is a LOT more trampled so cache is quite exposed but easier to get to ??!
Took alot of searching, found the spot the clue was referring too, unfortunately the cache was 5m away, so after lots of searching finally found this one.

This one took us a wee while to find, having read the clues and old logs it threw us a bit, but it was there all along. Happy hunting for the new cacher's!!
In Lizard, out nothing.

Find five for today. Had us fossicking until we sorted out the direction - a dice on the ground was a give-away, an escaped clue!! Popped dice in and vamoosed. TFTC.
GPS playing up on us, and had us going around in circles until a couple of numbers gave away GZ. TNLN
Last find of the day, and a very nice easy one to finish the day. Thanks - good clues and co-ords. TFTC TNLN SL
A reasonably quick find thanks to my little ferrets. A bit of an unintentional, but somewhat inevitable bum slide down the path in the rain by one of them though.
Found it!
easy find once i got through some of the scrub, covered over well to prevent muggling, although hard to find, there were signs of people being there, road cone etc in the area.

Thrown intially by the ambiguity of the clue, so find was made more complex than we needed to make it. A great cache.
