Thanks for the find! A lot of trees had fallen down around it so it was pretty tricky to access.
#7574We needed to do some shopping in Erina, so decided on a cache drive to and around the area, mainly to chip away at a few challenges we are working towards. We had a great day, grabbing a half a dozen quite varied caches, with no DNFs... We were chasing pre-2006 caches and D/T 3's, so this doesn't actually meet any, but was right there... We both think its a 3 though... We struggled a bit, with the multitude of hides available, and the number of knee height caves. Eventually I walked right over it, and looking back spotted the container peeking over its rock cover.Tricky We found it around 10m to the ESE - S540 E318. Is that a cave?? TFTC!
#7574With planning for an upcoming backpacking trip through Barrington, we had to come check out some shops around Erina to get some more excess gear, but we can't come down and not find any caches! We decided to mainly target caches to qualify for some challenges we've signed, namely finding D/T 3s and caches hidden prior to 2007, mainly targetting '03 caches. Had a great afternoon nabbing a few around the area.A nice clamber around and soon the pictures helped us have a cache in hand. Beautiful area, took the hard way in and the easy way out for sure! TNLN SLThanks for placing and maintaining this cache Shifter Brains
I had high hopes for this one, since it was found only a few days ago. Unfortunately, I found what appeared to be the lid of a cache container, but no sign of a cache anywhere. This may have been stolen.
Lid that was found is not the cache lid. This cache can be difficult to locate for some, and very easy for others.
Lost a bit of blood to the leeches and took a fair bit of hunting!! A trawl through previous logs gave us the help we needed and finally we got it!! Lovely spot.
After a bit of a search a few leeches finally found with the help of previously posted photos TFTC
Glad I got this in winter, reading past logs about leeches. Tough one to find thou, happy anniversary
Nice view from here down to Baseball park where I have spent a lot of my sporting life on the coast. Cache found in great nick. Picked up and dropped off a TB ! TFTC! Happy Anniversary
I'd never been up here to check out this spot but as I was in the area with time to spare why not let caching show me a few of the local spots.
I found my way to the lookout and admired the view for a while, particularly enjoying the sign that named all the key sights visible in the vista. It was pretty quiet at the lookout so once done drinking in the views I had no muggles stopping me from unstealthily ducking off following the compass to ground zero. Once there there a bit of back and forthing trying to locate the stash. At one point I found a container lid and soon after a matching container, which worried me that the cache may have been mugged, but before long I managed to track down the prize. I guess the container I found may have been the remains of a party left by some hesher teens.
All good with the actual stash though, all tucked away safe dry and clean, I scribbled my trail name in the log and added a travel bug before packing it all away and returning it to its hidey hole.
My thanks and appreciation to the cache owner shifter brains (love that name) for hiding one here and showing me this fantastic location. Quite an enjoyable visit. Cheers

This was so hard but everyone was making it look easy. There were so many leeches but I got there in the end
I had about 15min to spend looking for this one before I had somewhere to be, so I walked up to the lookout to start searching, and of course there's a bunch of muggles hanging around chatting and looking at the view. I walk up pretending to admire the view as well, while sneakily scoping out where I think GZ might be. 2min later they leave and I dive down into the bush and start searching as fast as possible. Took me about 8 min to locate the cache (definitely not where I had thought it would be when looking from the lookout). Twas a sneaky little spot!
Then I rush off to where I need to be, and as I'm driving down a main road I see a LEECH! Blergh! It's making its way across my leg, and suddenly I realise I didn't check myself before getting in the car and I start mildly panicking. I pull over into a side street and start frantically flicking leeches off me. I must've looked crazy.
Anyway, I survived, and thanks for the cache!

Nice area, saw some bushwalkers out enjoying themselves. Took me a little while, managed to pick up two leeches!!! Dont forget to check your socks!!! when you finish
Decided on a walk around the reserve, what a beautiful place and lookout. Referred to previous photos to help get the area to look in as lot of holes. Eventually found. TFTC
After the trail went cold doing Rumbalara I, and ending up at Ancient Artefacts, we zig zagged our way to the water tank, and thinking we were on the right track, it soon dwindled to nothing. But we saw some amazing rock formations, overhangs, and some interesting Stags and Birds Nests. All about the journey. When the going was getting steeper, we made a beeline up, and reconnected with the pathway to the picnic area. Following the needle, we stopped at the top of the powerline trail, and admired the view, then spotted the lookout. Walked around there, got some snaps, and then concentrated on GZ. Once again i went below, with madrabbitoh staying topside to direct traffic. Searched a lot of hidey holes, and 20 minutes in, decided to read some logs, and look at some photos. One photo, depicts the hide quite well, and i used it to find the cache. Spoiler alet. Thanks for showing us this great spot. Be great for a picnic. TFTC.
Just me andy daughter today as the eldest child as gone back to school. She was super keen to find some treasues with her brother beating her to the post everytime so we decided to walk from Gosford to Lisarow and pick up a few finds on the way.
Took us a while to find this one with the number of red herrings in the area. Big thanks to the boy pointing in the log gallery. With my daughter recreating the pose we soon found the well hidden cache.

Now that we are coming out of lockdown this cache is now available to find.
Thank you for your patience and to all of you who have been vaccinated.
Thank you for your patience and to all of you who have been vaccinated.
To help stop the spread of COVID-19, the NSW Government has ordered everybody to STAY AT HOME unless you are: shopping for essentials, receiving medical care, exercising or travelling to work or education.
While some people would regard geocaching as a form of exercise, we feel that this activity is NON-ESSENTIAL, perhaps involving unnecessary travel and therefore should not be undertaken during this time of crisis.
Who knows how long this current lockdown will last! Right now, every one of us has an important part to play in helping to keep our families, friends and the wider community safe in the fight against the spread of COVID-19, by STAYING HOME. Unfortunately, the situation is not improving and there have been an increase in the number of finds on our caches.
As a result of the health authority’s directive, we have decided to disable this cache and respectfully request that you do not seek out and claim a find whilst this cache is disabled. If you do log a find it WILL be DELETED.
Thank you for your cooperation. We look forward to bringing our caches back into play after the restrictions are lifter.

Found it tricky for a while then went back towards the lookout to where I was originally. The hint is accurate so don’t get caught up with the bigger caves. Cool area, thanks!
Came up the hill to smell the roses on my regular CC trip today. Ok, there aren't any roses but the bush on this warm, clear day cleared out the cobwebs just the same. I went here and there pondering what might be the right level. Stopping to think for the nth time, I realised I was almost standing on the best candidate. As my French friends would say, 'et voila'. Thanks Shifter Brains.
Found with Shaneo58 on a nice day in late autumn, with temperatures in the low 20s. We just wanted to find some after a long break due to travel restrictions, for the last two months. We came down to the Central Coast to catch up on some old ones. Nice hide found quickly. Log signed and caches replaced as found. Thanks For The Cache Shifter Brains

Took some searching but finally found it. Really good spot- great condition! Photo in the log of a little boy pointing really helped us.
Hooray! Finally can mark this one off my list. Have been to this one 3 times. After a hint from the CO and alot of time to do some searching I made a find after 10 minutes searching TFTC
Thanks for a great little hide Shifter Brains. Left a trackable. Merry Christmas

I really didn't feel like driving for 53 minutes, Then walking less than 50 metres , spending about 5 minutes looking for the cache, walking back to the car and then driving back home but that's exactly what I did today. The fun times of doing a streak ha ha ha. There were no muggles around today it was too cold and windy . The cache is in good condition . Thanks for the cache Shifter Brains tnln replaced as found sl
We were trig hunting in the area and had stopped for a coffee break nearby so decided to take a look for this cache. This area certainly has had some money spent on it. There are lots of trails and steps down to don't know where (near the trig). We spent quite a while searching but finally came up with the cache. A great view. TFTC
Fangsoki and Pprime (P') and I were on a road trip for Easter to the Mega Event and had a list of caches that we wanted to get while we were away.
This cache was not on our list but we were passing by so decided to stop for a look.
There was a muggle at the lookout and we couldn't wait for him to leave so we explained what we were doing and he kindly gave us hints on where he thought we should be looking. It was Pprime who located the cache. The muggle was impressed.

Crew153, Fangsoki and I were in the area, traveling in Suzee, staying at OZGeoMuster Mega 2018. Having sorted an older cache up top, we pulled up near GZ and .... oh a muggle. And he is settled in for the evening. No worries. A quick introduction, he seems friendly, and somewhat curious (he was aware of geocaching, but hadn't ever done one). So he enthusiastically helped Crew153 to direct efforts from up top. Turns out everyone else was wrong, and I found the cache in another spot nearby (coords are fine, there's a little bit of bounce).
Not sure if he was inspired to go find some others or not, but he now decided to leave as we did, and we didn't see him at the next one we did).
Thanks for placing this cache, Shifter Brains. Found in good condition.

Pprime, Crew 153, and I had just been to a nearby "oldie" and decided to grab this one on the way through.
We informed a curious muggle what we were up to and started our hunt. Said muggle was familiar with geocaching. We soon found the container and signed the log.
The muggle left at the same time we did. A great place to visit. TFTC Shifter Brains

FOUND! Finally... This was my second attempt at searching for this one. So glad to be able to eliminate my dnf devastation! And I swear I looked here before! It wasn't even that difficult...
Very good hide I can sleep peacefully tonight haha

Love this spot! The geokiddies knabbed this one pretty quickly thanks to previous logs and clues. Swapped a couple of goodies SL and on to the next. TFTC
TFTC Happy Anniversary Shifter Brains and thanks for a great walk today with JLCRWaite.
Cache check done while on a walk with Guiding friends showing them the trail for future walks with Guide units. All in good order.
My (old) GPS was very jumpy here. (I think due to tree cover). Was about to leave the area and give up, but one last sweep of the area and I found it. Nice one. TFTC.
Working down in Gosford and surrounds today and when a client pushed back an appointment I suddenly had an hour free to get up to mischief .
I decided a rumble through Rumbalara was the closest and most cache dense option and managed to grab roughly half a dozen.
This was the second of them. I climbed up and down and all around and got a cracking workout that frankly wasn't needed. Ha ha I did enjoy it though. Got there in the end when I moved away from the spots which had lured me in. Cache and log are in good condition. TNLN TFTC
Oh, and just a tip - watch out for the moss on the top of the rock platform with the survey marker. I landed flat on my back and almost slid off - and that's a good 5m fall. Glad the tiny bush on the edge saved me

Back out today after our DNF a few months back. Clever little hide, not in the obvious spots. I get the feeling the coords are a little off but GPS (an iPhone) very jumpy here. I kinda think its time to upgrade soon..
Last time we were here we'd only racked up about 50 finds and thus still pretty inexperienced. Discovered the "nearby" *On The Run* GC as it has its posted coords right on this one. It puzzled us out in the field. But then realised what it was after studying its page a few days later. Wow, a "reverse" cache, ok! Have had our eye on it ever since. Came very close to him a few months ago whilst interstate and then the eventual SA finder had it here in NSW for a while and I was hoping they would drop him in Sydney at least but they dumped it in WA a few weeks back :-S It's currently hidden not 400m from where I worked in Canning Vale for about 4 years. Weird!
Anyway, TFTC and the views today shifters. Been having trouble with a couple of your hides since we started this game so it felt good to find this one today! I think I mistakenly logged it as 10/10 instead of the 8th.

Going for 20th find.
After 10 mins of searching, located the exact spot where Jessica wheelers pic was taken but no cache. bit more searching and. I luck.
Will try again!

Stumbling around here in the dark with a torch and one of the geokids, realizing we should have packed it in at the GC before! Then I got a notification that our recent hide had just been FTF'd by Shifter Brains. It's a small world! We'll be back when we have some decent light and congrats SB!
After completing the flannel flower and ironbark walking tracks, we found this cache. First to sign the new dry log book!
Thanks for the cache in a beautiful spot.
Thanks for the cache in a beautiful spot.
I've been scratching my head for ages at this unfound traditional on my map, for whenever I clicked on it, I got "On the Run" which I found last time it visited the Central Coast. Finally I twigged that there were two caches sharing the same coordinates.
Today's adventure can best be described as a comedy of errors. A quick glance at the map suggested an easy walk from the field station at the top of Donnison Street, but when I arrived the GPX file which I'd uploaded onto my Garmin didn't want to appear. None of the Rumbalara tracks were on the unit's map either, making it pretty useless, so I switched to using the phone app.
Needing to get up to the top track, I walked to where the map said the link track should be, but found only a very narrow overgrown track heading up the hill, which I started following. The track soon petered out and I was left with a very steep leech-infested bush-bash to finally get to the top. As I found on my return journey, the stairs were actually about 100 metres south from where the map said they were.
Finally on the right track, I arrived at GZ only to find I could've driven there. Doh! Oh well, the exercise was probably good for me. And so the searching began.
As others have noted, the cache is well hidden and not in the obvious place. While scratching my head at one point, a bull ant decided to climb up onto my toe and without provocation sink its teeth in. Pure vindictiveness from the caching gods, I'm sure - they must have been having a good chuckle by now.
Finally I spotted the hide and attempted to sign the log, but it's now mostly sodden pulp and as soon as I started to write, my pen clogged up. After finding a piece of paper in my wallet to clean out the tip, I managed to get "BFJ" onto the logbook. This really does need some TLC from the CO.
So finally I can tick this one off as found and remove that mysterious unfound cache from my map. Thanks for the hide and the exercise - at least the weather was nice and cool for it.

Unfortunately I couldn't sign the logbook because it was too damp and will probably need replacing.

I'd looked for this one, without success, back in my newbie days when I really didn't know the strange and evil ways that a CO's mind works in his efforts to avoid muggle attention. The fact that it's taken me well over 12 months to return to the dcene of this DNF is not, I assure all, a reflection of any trauma I experienced the first time around ... it's more just a matter of never being in the right place at the right time. But today, with some time free after doing a bit of shopping, I saw an opportunity to head back up the hill.
Last time, I had descended a level from the lokkout but this time, I approached GZ from a different angle ... and as things turned out, probably the right approach. Jumpy GPS reception didn't make the task of finding GZ too easy and in the end, I put the phone back in my pocket and relied on the hint and my eyes to locate the cache ... which I soon did. Things were quite damp in the cache but I was still able to record my visit in the attendance book. Today's weather prevented me from attempting to dry things out, but I did remove and dispose of some of the soggier contents.
Thanks for this cache Shifter Brains ... plus my congratulations and best wishes for your 10th anniversary in just a couple of weeks time ... you should come along to Mumma-Kel's 5 Aug event to celebrate this milestone ... maybe she'll even bake a cake to mark the occasion!!

Found. What views!
Took a key ring and left a hot wheels and led keyring torch.

Found again as I had to clear up that I'd found GCXHJ6 and not GC 3720 ( on the run) though coords are the same- no sign of the latter unless he had changed guise.
Came here last night but struggled in the dark. Popped up here today and managed to find it with some help from a cacher who had been here before. SL. TFTC.
New to the game (geodad) my husband found it (I don't think I would have found it !)
"We bought a Jeep!" A family of muggles were celebrating their new purchase, but they didn't spot either GeoCam or I! TFTC Shifter Brains!

Not a person about on this overcast Monday Morning, which gave me plenty of time to hunt down GZ.
GPS wouldn't settle but I still managed to locate the cache...only to realise I had dropped my pen somewhere nearby...sigh, back up to the car to sign the log. Travelling Jeep in, TBs out. TFTC Shifter
