Looking at filling some "month placed" holes in our stats, we noticed this cache filled one of our holes. We were a bit worried about the hike up, but LumpyR found the easy route. Then, after taking in the magnificent views, we wondered just how long it would take the proverbial needle in the haystack, but, following the directions in the description, LumpyJ soon spotted the cache. Tftc and keeping it active.
The DoRKs made it up the hill and logged the cache. Thanks for the great find! Love the view!
Grabbed this one on the way home after the CITO. Lovely view, thanks for bringing me here.
Got to GZ and was thinking where will I start l? Then immediately a colour jumped out at me and I found it! Great views m!! TFTC!!
Thought it was on private property, but no. What an amazing view! We love where geochaching is taking us!
It was a big walk up the hill for little legs, but well worth it for the view and lots of treasures to swap!
Yay - found it today all tucked up safe and sound. Love these particular old structures, I can only imagine the struggle that went into making it. Thanks for creating and maintaining this cache.PS: The Troll Dolls [TN6TR0] were with me on my great caching adventures today.
Found It!Not a bad view from up here! Found the cache after a short search.TFTC
A few spare days to fill before Christmas so I made the decision to hit the road and go on a road trip from Adelaide to Ballarat. The main purpose of the trip is to tackle the Ballarat Geo Tour before they get archived in February 2024. Day two was spent around Gong Gong Reserve, Kirks Reservoir, Mount Warrenheip, Buninyong, and surrounding reserves. Quite a busy day. This cache was targeted due to its age. Nice views and some beautiful trees here. Cache found without problem s. Thanks for the cache echozero & 42below.# # #13706 # #
A great Geocache! We enjoyed this a lot, and sat in the sun afterwards. Thanks for making this!Poppy, Callum, Tim and Helen.24.09.2023
Ballarat Geo-Tour TripDay #3 of 4 (17/9)Another great weather day for caching. Todays mission is to complete the Geo-tour, visit Sovereign Hill and find as many other caches as possible. I started by heading to Buninyong and finding some cache around there. Next I headed up Mt Buninyong to find the caches up there which included two of the Geo-tour caches. Then it was time to head up to the Woorookarung Lookout. Afterwards, I headed down the hill to visit Sovereign Hill and of course the cache. After about 4 hours of seeing the sights, I headed off and collected some WIGs, solved mystery caches, challenge caches and an old multi. It was a great day out and now time to get some sleep, so I can be ready for the long drive home. Im so happy that I have completed the Geo-tour. Thanks for the awesome series and I want to return to Ballarat to find some more caches (but it may be a long while). TB visit. I would like to thank all COs of the caches I found today and for allowing them to bring the Geocaching community enjoyment. TFTCs I couldn't drive past a 2006 cache. I always love an oldie and this one certainly was no different. Another great fun cache to find and a great location to visit. I spent some time taking in the view and soon it was time to move on. Thanks for another !
What a great view. Out and about with Mrs JTREETRACK2. Great Spot. Thanks for placing this cache echozero & 42below
As the afternoon wares on we found this one easily after Google maps was out on how to get here.
We ran down the hill when we had finished it was very opened eyed if your looking for difficult ones go into ballarat
It was a beautiful hike up the hill, fun find, some creepy notes tho. Good music too
Physical log not in good condition after the rain, but fun find thanks, and cute little gardens!

With the 2 events done and dusted, it was time to find a few more caches in the area, this being one of them.
I didn't realise this one had been around sometime now, so I had to go and find it.
A good thing for the hint as my phone had me a fair way from where the cache was hidden.
**Thanks to 42below for placing this cache.**

Next stop on my trip around the area and it was certainly a hike from where I was parked. However the views from near the GZ were worth the walk. Cache was found without issue, and it looks like a few muggles have found it as well, going by the comments. All good thought, as they had left it placed.
Thanks for showing me the area....and for the cache.

What an awesome spot, beautiful views, an anzac memorial avenue, gorgeous dry stone walls and an off leash dog park, this has to be a fav.
In all our travels we would not have even thought to travel to this location.

Marshall’s Geelong found this cache today,
Quick easy find whilst in the area for work. Loved this one! Driven past this place many times and didn’t know it was a park! Such a beautiful location. Logs are semi dry now but they have been wet very recently. There is cracks in the cache, would recommend replacing. I don’t believe where it is now is where it was placed originally.
TFTC!

Thank you for a wonderful first time ever experience ️ it was such a nice view and the location was very clever! Might have to replace the container though, the weather has not been kind thank you again!
On arrival I whispered under my breath " O no, a rock cache". Very happy to find this one straight away. There were 3 log books inside and all were damp due to the container having a split. Beautiful view up here thank you
We attempted this cache about a year ago hoping for a quick find as time was limited. Wasn’t to be and we were also mindful of disturbing the beautiful stone wall, so we walked away empty handed.
Today, after attending a CITO, we came back for another go. This time the cache was easily spotted on arrival. The logbooks are damp, but we managed to place our signature on one of them, then replaced it so it wasn’t visible to any muggles.
Thank you echozero & 42below for the opportunity of viewing the beautiful views.

It is easy to see, so don't move any stones until you spot it.

Had to resort to past logs to find this one as the GPSr had us quite some distance away.
Today we focussed on finishing off the Ballarat Geo Tour so it was a day we were all over the place collecting the remaining ones and any other caches we came near on the way. This had us out in the bush and in suburbia, but there were some great hides found.
With work encouraging us to take some holidays and Mr SKI having quite a few weeks up his sleeve it was time to take another short break and do some sightseeing and caching in parts of Victoria we seldom visit.
This time we decided it would be Ballarat. There is a wide variety of cache types and quite a number of Adventure Labs to do, so the area is quite attractive. And that doesn't include the historical and interest aspects as well.
We organized to meet up with some friends while there so we would have the opportunity to do some joint as well as solo caching.
We have already had some great adventures on a few challenging caches that generated a lot of fun and as usual always good to find some pre-solved puzzles.
All logs signed as SKI Pair, RASP (Rebel Acts & SKI Pair or SP depending on size of logs and availability of space.
Thank you for your efforts in creating and maintaining the cache 42below.

Stunning views, absolutely magnificent stone walls. Never like cache a hidden in or near stone walls as many people will pull them apart in their search. Please be mindful of this when looking for this cache. Thanks for bringing me here to this fantastic location
With today being 2'sday I decided to head up the highway to attend a nearby event followed by a CITO. I arrived in Buninyong with plenty of time to spare so I had time for a couple of caches first.
A quick walk up the track and I marveled at the size of a beautiful old tree not to far from GZ. It must have been growing up here for a very long time.
At GZ I carefully looked along as I am always nervous around this kind of hide as some people don't always respect the old rock walls. I was able to spot the hide without too much trouble which made me happy.
Thank you echozero & 42below for bringing me up here

On our way to the GeoTour event in Buninyong today. We figured out the best way to approach this and nearing GZ we spotted a couple and their dogs sitting close by to where we would be searching. I explained what we do and the women commented that geocaching seemed like letterboxing she used to do in England. A little daunting to realise where we would be searching but fortunately the cache was found reasonably quickly. Thanks to echo zero & 42below for the cache.
Found at 2:46 pm.
I headed up this way today for the Geotour Event #4 since I hadn't been to a geotour event yet but I did stay for a couple days last year with the government $200 "head to country travel vouchers" and completed the tour then.
Still had a small time window before the event so stopped in here and after a short search the cache was soon found safe and sound.
Thanks 42below for the cache, the adventure, the hunt and the fun.

TFTF. Easy enough to find....deffinatly took the hard way cause someone thought it was shorter than it was
Loved the walk from lal lal st. Great views from top. Cache had water inside so drained it best we could.
Think we approached from the wrong road. Best to come from the back and not Lal Lal St.. unless you want a climb! Easy find once there.
After attending the CITO event it was time to target some specific caches to get closer to meeting some challenges, or completing some goals. One thing we have noticed about caching in Victoria is that 2006 is not a great year for caches, there is more in 2005 and many more in subsequent years. We wonder why that is so and we are actively looking to add finds of caches from 2006. This one involves a bit of a steep walk and is so worth it, as there is a stone wall in terrific condition at the top, oh and the view is pretty spectacular as well. The cache was full of water, but the log was dry as a bone. (As the cache is a genuine Tupperware container they may replace it as i believe that they have a lifetime warranty ). Thank you for this cache echozero & 42below.
