As this cache has been out of action for too long, I'm archiving it to keep it from continually showing up in search lists, and to prevent it from blocking other cache placements. First visit to New Zealand, and what a way to see this beautiful country - a lap of the South Island by motorhome! We started in Christchurch and then drove through the hills of the Southern Alps to the west coast.

Today we explored the area between Queenstown and Milford Sound focusing mostly on earthcache locations. Stopped for the EC here and picked up this bonus trad as well.
Thanks Trutta.

Many thanks to all the COs who helped make our geocaching holiday a great success
We left home early April and returned 21 May 2018. We toured from our home base up to a wedding in North Taranaki then carried on heading south right down through wellington and on down the west coast and back up via the eastern side of the alps some times going around in circles. Our aim was to get as many smiley faces on the puzzle caches that we had solved but of course stopping for many traditionals, multies and others as we went. some time we biked the bike trails or walked but mostly by campervan. we enjoyed the quite back country roads, many of them were metal but we just travelled along slowly going from cache to cache. Most caches were in good condition and I will remark if we thought it needs maintence etc.

Found it while working on the earthcache here. The cache was completely in the open so I tried to cover it up as best I could.

Sorry for the late log. Found with stairman1. We are on our holiday enjoying beautiful NZ. We heard deer roaring. That got stairman1 excited. He used to hunt them in his younger days. All good with this cache. Names added we headed off. TFTC.

Heute waren wir von Dunedin auf den Weg nach Te Anau. Neben der gigantischen Kulisse haben wir noch ein paar Döschen am Wegesrand eingesammelt und die Natur fotografiert. Danke fürs Legen.

I'ive started my beautiful trip of the South Island in Christchurch, I've visited many beautiful locations. I've travelled via Lake Tapeko, from Dunedin to the most southern part of Bluff. I've then continued with a cruise in Milford Sound and then back to Queenstown.
From there on I've visited Wanaka and the Haast pass to the Franz Josef glacier. I went all the way up to the Abel Tasman NP. Richmond und Nelson as the sonnierst cities were on my list as well.
I've soon reached the east coast in Picton and Blenheim.
After a couple of days, I've then travelled back to Christchurch via Kaikoura.
I've spent a couple of days in Christchurch and it's surroundings.
I've visited many geological sites and have found many caches along the way.
I've travelled 3500km and have experienced so much.
Thank you to all the owners

Long Waitangi weekend roadtrip with a couple of friends. Headed from Dunedin to Te Anau (via Gore) then Riverton before finally heading home. Over 700km travelled by car, over 10km by foot and over 30 caches found..... might have left a couple as a thank you to local cachers. We had a great time and saw some cool spots.

After seeing Milford Sound and the national park we went for a shower in Te Anau before we were off to Lumsden - this cache was on the way Smile

18-Jan-18
Our day started in the Fiordland National Park. After a long drive, we induldged in a lovely hot shower in Te Anau and from there we went on to Lumsden. This cache was basically the only one to be reasonably found as a P&G. Quick find exactly where we thought it would be hidden. TFTC Trutta, maintained by Pipedream!

After the long and late trip yesterday to Queenstown, mmmmike and me have more time today for the next station. So, there will also be more room to enjoy some of the caches on the way and to follow the advices to stop and have a closer look to landscape and views.
This one was our stop list for today, and well worth it. The hint and previous logs helped to find the right place - the place was working very well.
Thanks for hiding the box and providing us a nice treat.

We are on a road trip around the south of the South Island. Today we traveled from Queenstown to Te Anau. This was a quick drive by cache. We found the cache quickly. We loved the log book scroll!! Be mindful of all the toilet paper and poo behind the rock. There are some disgusting people around. Tourists no doubt.

Found in the pouring rain under my brand new rainbow coloured umbrella on Christmas morning! The clue made me smile. What did not make me smile was the turds and rubbish at this site, I'm local so will go back and collect the rubbish on a dry day. I'll be leaving the turds...

I like it when ECs are coupled with a Tradi find. Two for the price of one!

This was our final stop before Te Anau and the views here were as gorgeous as ever. Easy hide that no one could miss. TFTC!

We had the great chance to travel around New Zealand during six weeks and were able to see wonderful cities, landscapes and meet nice Kiwis. While staying in NZ many cache owners gave us the opportunity to search for very well hidden treasures and we thank them very much for preparing and maintaining them.

Found with StreetWalker on day 2 of our road trip to the Oamaru Geofest, taking the scenic route, of course. Today we are travelling from Cromwell to Manapouri, via Queenstown.
After attending an event in Queenstown, we still had a bit of a drive to our accommodation for the night in Manapouri, so caching stops were few and far between. Two caches for the price of one here so of course we stopped. A quick find, it took longer to re-hide the cache. TFTC.

Day 3 of our south of south NZ caching blitz out on our own in the very cold windy day, we were definately stone cold! glad this one was a quick find and back into warmth of van. Tftc

Found alongside Hevic, silvachief, and jaycie on our Fiordland trip. I don't think I've ever seen a deer flock that large before - certainly an experience in and of itself! They were too far away for me to pet, unfortunately Sad kidding aside, the cache was found in fairly good nick and in pretty good time. Cheers!

12-Oct-17
Great to see all the nearby deer, Tftc!

11-Oct-17
Found by accident when I stopped to do the Erratic Earthcache Smile As I'm touring NZ with my wife and any hint of me geocaching would be greeted with rancour and possible divorce proceedings I took a photo of the cache I'd accidentally uncovered but didn't risk signing the log. Will upload this when I'm back in UK. TNLN. TVM4tC - one of the few trade I'll get the chance to find this trip Sad And best wishes from the UK Wink

Off to Te Anau to sell GGBiscuits. The crew (AnnieLin & Abbykit, Downsouthinv & Loveheart900) decided to make a caching trip out of it so we are staying the night.
As we pulled in there was another car waiting to pull out. As we piled out we urged the muggles to get going. Then on signing the log we saw it had been found today. Hmm. Maybe they weren't muggles after all.
We hurried to sign the log thinking that maybe we would catch them at the next cache. But which way would they go? The next one is after the turnoff to Manapouri.
Nice camouflage, and thanks for the smilie.

01-May-17
Not so quick park'n'grab. Pulled into the rest stop just as a council worker arrived. Had our coffees at the picnic table waiting for him to leave. Area was tidy with no evidence of muggle-scat and the exposed con wasn't that hidden. Cute logscroll in good condition, log only half-full on first side. Re-rolled and bagged back up. We SL and re-arranged the hide on opposite side of the obstacle. Watch out for the thorns. TFTC

30-Apr-17
Found it on the way back from Arrowtown. A shame that people use this area as a toilet stop . Watch your step

21-Apr-17
Well that was revolvting. A muggle had decided to have a poop and left their paper work under the rock on the cache. Aww crap. Washed my hands after signing the log. Turd poopy cache today.
