#4908 - 13:25; On foot through Central Park and headed for The Met, collecting a few caches along the way. Left the geofamily at the nearby statue and commenced the hunt. While I was busy barking up the wrong tree, another cacher had the cache in hand nearby. It was nice to meet you anne_herve, certainly made finding the cache a bit easier for me Wink. Very disappointed not to find this one - especially when there are so many comments of finding within seconds! Sad

Then within seconds of writing this up I see a trio wandering up the hill to a spot I hadn't been to - they ended up finding the cache almost immediately, putting me to shame - but I wasn't too proud to make a belated find & have one NY cache for my short visit. TFTC - now to get back to our hotel after about 23km of walking for the day.

We were off to the USA and Canada for a few weeks of holiday, and thoroughly enjoyed traveling around, and visiting the many different places and caches we came across Big Grin

It was our last day in NYC today, and we wanted to have another look around Central Park so we headed straight for this one, and after a quick look around, Gaz quickly had the cache in hand, and the logbook signed before heading off with no one any the wiser [^]

Found my first ever one before my girlfriend. Interestingly hidden and I stared at it for a couple seconds before saying...wait a minute and just pulled it right out.

During my trip to New York, I couldn't just go shopping, being tourist.. It had to be some geocaching too! This one was one of those I found. I like Central Park!! Thanks for the cache!

While on our visit to NY (from the Netherlands) we booked a hotel near Central Park and today we decided to take a walk in the beautiful park. Annemieke took a first look while Michiel rested on the bench at the statue.

After searching a couple of moments Michiel joined the search and grabbed the cache in no-time.
After placing it back we enjoyed the company of some squirrels after continuing our walk...

We teamed up with our great friends coolcamaro for a fun weekend of caching in Central Park with the ultimate goal of completing Bridges & Arches (which we did!).

We found many awesome caches along the way and covered more than 15 miles before going home on Sunday. We even ran into fellow cacher ajs880 and his family at Lakeside View. We had a great time and thoroughly enjoyed our visit to the park. We're looking forward to returning once we solve all of those puzzle caches Thanks to all of the COs who placed and maintain these great caches!

What a great statue! It was covered with kids and we even caught a glimpse of the Queen! We left a pathtag and ajs880 picked it up! TFTC!

Yeah. Number 600. Am very happy for it being this special cache. Tftc and greetings from France.

When I was there, I spent some time on a bench near conservatory water to watche the small sailing vessels; the whole time there were dozends of people nearby the cache, so I thought this might be impossible to find. Unexpectedly, suddenly there were almost no people around, so I took the chance and got it!

7325 + 872 = 8197. Found with ACBC 66 during our USA Holiday Adventure !

Our first find in New York City !! Walking through Central Park and while busy it wasn't super crowded so we went for this one. Lovely statue nearby - all the muggles were too busy looking at that to worry about us ! Quick find sign and return. Happy with that !

Thanks madm !! Nice to get a cache with container here in NYC !

TNLN - TFTC !!

Cheers from Australia !!

Nice easy find and the last of the day. TFTC.

Urban caching is always gard, with gpsr having mixed reception from the skies, Urban cching with an iphone even harded. Our 2 iphones kept taking us here and there, back and forth with a radius of over 25 metres. Not a lot of joy, I can tell you.
Then we were questioned by a very lovely geocacher from Texas, who were having the same problems as us.
Exasperation.
Plus.
After about 20 minutes, way outside our search area, one of the youngest Texans called out he'd found it.
On the ground.
Way, way, way away from where we were searching.
In the bushes.
Yippee, good job, pats on the back and smiles all around.
We signed the log then replaced the cache into where we believed it had been hidden, as we had found a pencil there earlier.
Liked the camo, hope this one continues to last.
Thanks for maintaining the cache nd bringing us here, the yachts were sublime in the afternoon sun light.

Found while on holidays here from Australia with TassieGirl13.
We were spending the day looking around Central Park.
Wow what a great statue this is! We of course took plenty of photo's of us both.
Plenty of other people doing the same thing which meant when it came time to find the cache no one bothered to pay us any attention.
TFTC.

Found with Bedmaker while here on holidays from Australia.
We were in the park today and wandered up to find this one. Wow, this statue was amazing! I had heard about it in tourist books but didn't expect anything like this. Just incredible.

Now we've found it! This was our second time for this cache, very well hidden! It took us a while to find it this time as well. TNLN but TFTC, really well camouflaged!

This was the only cache today out of 19 we couldn't find. Feel very silly given no one else seems to have had any difficulty. We'll be back. Thanks for taking us to this beautiful part of the park though!
